  1. I've had the Helix now for a few weeks. I was getting it set up to play live tonight and noticed a few issues. I'm using the Helix as a pedalboard into the front of a PRS DG30 amp and I'm using a PRS DGT guitar. The DGT guitar is very responsive to volume. The level of volume does not drop much when going from 10 to 6, it just gets cleaner. Typically I drive it on 10 but go down to 6 or 7 to clean it up. I noticed tonight that the minute I would take the guitar volume off of 10 there was a huge volume drop and by the time you hit 7 or 8 the tone was very thin and very low volume. I've noticed while getting used to the Helix that my amp tone has been slightly muted, muffled, even stiff feeling so I plugged straight into the amp after sound check and there was the tone, lively, gritty, responsive, etc. As soon as I plugged the Helix back in it was that same stiff tone, the amp had lost the great tube breakup and it sounded like there was a blanket over it compared to plugging straight in. I have the Helix volume set between 12:00 and 1:00 and even if I turn it all the way up the guitar and amp still react the same way. I've been playing the DGT for almost 8 years and I love being able to manipulate the guitar volume for my tones so this is weird how the volume drops off so rapidly. To play the gig tonight I had the volume knobs and tone all on 10 the entire time and I don't play that way. I'm loving the Helix as my pedalboard so any suggestions would be appreciated. Any thoughts?
  2. I just got a Pod Studio UX2 and an AKG C214 large diaphragm condenser microphone. I went through the whole setup and got everything working, but when I tried recording some vocals the recording played back at a slightly higher pitch. Why is this happening and how can I make it stop?
  3. My POD HD 400 automatically activates the "preset" knob which I use as a Reverb knob for my effects. It doesn't only modify the amount of effect by taking it to 99% instead of the 10% I usually have it set up, but it even changes the kind of reverb (I usually use the "room" reverb, but it goes to "plate" on its own). This is the first time it happens. I tried updating the firmware and the flash memory with the Line6 Monkey, but the problem is still there. What else could I do to solve this problem? Have you heard of something similar on other Line 6 products? Thanks in advance for your help on this.
(Google translate) Hello people!, recently my brother bought the HD400 and this happened: Yesterday I was playing for a while and the only thing I did was change presets with the buttons up and down, later, the presets don't sound. Some of them was heard but it was because the Wah was activated. Entering other questions I fixed the calibration of the pedal, and it turns out that the pedal itself is not working. When I calibrate it, I press the foot switch and the next step I have to put it in the minimum and then at the maximum, it does not. Then when I change the preset the volume is always at a minimum, because the pedalboard is not taking the pedal operation :S Any solution? I Update the firmware, then restore the factory and then the caliber. Gracias, espero tener ayuda! Thanks!
  5. Hi, I came here hoping that someone might enlighten me about the problem I'm facing with my device. When I start my Pod, I can see on the screen that the arrow on the different effects on the preset goes all the way to the left. When I use the arrows to go right, it doesn't do anything as if I was holding the left arrow button. I tried to go into the settings and I/O but I can't navigate un the menu, since I need to go right to changes pages and when I try, it stays on the first page. I cleaned the buttons and checked to see if anything got stuck under the plastic but I found nothing. Also, I don't know if it's related to the pevious problem but my tap and loop switches are acting weird. When I hold the tap button the start the tuner, it goes off of it when I take my foot off. When I leave tuner mode, the loop mode activates and I can't get out of it unless I push several times on the button. What would you recommend me to do? Reset to factory settings? Ask a post-sale customer service? Thanks a lot for your answers.
  6. Hi all, I recently purchased an M13 unit, but one of the effect channels is giving me this unusual jumps in parameter value please check the video... https://www.youtube.com/embed/jhM5CuyPtJU Has anyone experienced this before? any Idea about how this could be resolved?? Many thanks!!! Fred
  7. So my expression pedal on my floor unit is starting to squeak and creak something fierce now, and I'm not sure where to apply some lubricant to help solve this problem and I don't want to open the guy up to void warranty in the future. Anyone have any Ideas on how to solve this problem or has this problem?
  8. Hi! Recently I had a problem with the USB of POD HD 500. I was one of the unfortunately that bought the pod with the fragile USB and mine broke, as some other users have the same problem http://line6.com/support/topic/2633-podhd500-drivers-wont-install-on-mac/?hl=%2Busb+%2Bbroken&do=findComment&comment=17606. I took it to the support and they replaced with a new one, but the problem is that it's not working. When I enter in the configuration, it is written on the information: USB FW: V0.00. I think the problem is this, but I don't have any idea how I can update the usb firmware. Anyone could help-me?
  9. So today I discovered that the "Dry-Out" output on my POD HD PRO X doesn't work when I'm connected through Variax input. If I plug-in through the front "Guitar" input it'll work just fine. Am I missing something here? perhaps some configuration in the menus that will allow me to mirror Variax dry input straight to the "dry-out" output on the back of my POD HD PRO X? I'm hoping to use this output aside from both the L-R outputs for a live setting. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  10. I have a line 6 spider 4 15 watt amp that i bought from a friend of myn. When i first got it worked perfectly. afer a few weeks i noticed that the sound was dull and it was not the volume becuase i turned it up. Out of frustration i hit the top of the amp and the sound got louder nd clearer for a few seconds. Thats when i was sure that something was wrong. I can not seem to find what is the problem and i am hoping that someone here can help me. Thanks.
  11. As you can see in my screenshot, I have the Firmware version 1.12, and I am getting this error while trying to update my Helix. I downloaded and installed the Helix Application v2.01, and my Line 6 updater was already v1.09, but it got reinstalled as well. The Line 6 updater was giving this error both before I updated the Helix Application and afterwards.
  12. I cant get a USB-connection going in my DAW when I connect my amplifi tt to my computer via. USB. Thats my problem. It doesn't appear as a device in Reaper at all.. When I plug in my amplifi to my computer via. usb it tells me it fails to install unit drivers? I've had a lot of trouble updating my Amplifi to latest patch and Im not even sure it's done correctly. I tried locating amplifi drivers and updates on my PC, in the hope that I could do it manually, but nope. Line 6 dont have any software for amplifi products available for downloading I guess. Im very frustrated, please help
  13. Hello, I started this topic is this section because you don't have a section for my amp. I know my amp is a bogner but they told me that it was manufactured by line6 so I'm seeking help with you. When I connect my footswitch, sometimes the amp randomly changes channel. I have a friend that also has that amp and his started to randomly switching channels even with the footswitch connected. I believe this is a problem with the relay switching, maybe it gets overheated os something... Can you provide some kind of help? Thanks
  14. Hi there, Wow, long long time wothout posting here ;o) I am still the owner of a mark 1 SV 112 and still hppy with it. I never experienced the overheating DSP problem leading to neverending ressting of the amp, but it is true that I seldom used it at high volume for long periods of time. I only gigged twice with it and have played it in my personal home studio at home mostly. What I would have liked to know is if this problem is systematic with MK1 SVs or if it is completely random. I mean, have there been random series that have the problem and others that don't have it ? I have the Strymon SVPre that I installed when it came out and the DSP board is, it seems, the first make (Revision A from 2007). So far, I have never experienced the problem. If I ever do, I'll try to fix it with a heatsink on the overheating areas of the board, but I'd really like to know if this is a randomly happening problem. If not, I might have just got a series without the flaw and I'll be glad about it ;o) Thanks a lot for your answers. Jay
  15. Hello, This is the first time I've posted to this forum. We've had a Spider IV 30 for about 2 years. It has the 4 channel foot pedal that comes with it. We don't drive the thing hard at all. Recently, after playing for 10-15 minutes, it goes a bit haywire. Spontaneously, the effect light and channel light will start to toggle and the effect might even change. We've been able to see that it only happens when the pedal is plugged in. I've changed the Ethernet cable and it still happens. It is not that the thing spontaneously changes channels. Say you are on channel A which is programmed to Insane. What happens is the effect will change to Clean and that light will come on, the channel A light will go off, then it will go back on. If you power cycle, everything is okay for a bit. Help, is the pedal dead already? Tom
  16. I recently bought a line 6 pod hd 500x .when i tried looper i was able to record a pattern and when i tried to change the tone to play some lead the tone of the recorded portion changes. please help me
  17. Hey guys, I've had an M9 for 6 years and I love it. Never had an issue and have never wanted to go analog. But recently I've had some weird issues with it. First, I've been noticing a very quiet fuzz/static when an effect (mostly on gain effects) is engaged. It's almost like a light Phase underneath the gain signal, and it make sustained chords or notes sound really bad. There are some gain effects I can't use all together because it makes an awful fuzz sound (including some of the fuzzes which are my bread and butter!!). Has anyone noticed this same issue? Second issue, when I go to switch scenes and press the TAP and B3 buttons then select a new scene, the pedal stays on the scene select screen. When I press the new scene again the light starts blinking from white to blue until I press it again and only exits the scene select screen if i press the TAP and B3 buttons again. Is this an extra function I was unaware of for the last 6 years?? I've recently done a factory reset to see if these issues go away but with now luck. Please help!!!
  18. I've recently got problems with a clicking noise when I use my POD HD500X. At first I suspected my guitar, so I made sure everything was tightened properly. It didn't help, and I also noticed that I get this noise from all of my other instruments. It doesn't matter if I use the mono outputs, headphones or use the POD as audio interface. I've tried to reinstall all software with Line6 Monkey, and the problems remain. Here's a video describing my problems: I'd appreciate all kinds of suggestions for solving this :)
  19. I've recently bought both a TBP12 transmitter and a G30 receiver. Both are set to RF1. When they are both set to the same channel, the receiver shows full red bar (indicating a lot of interference). This goes away when they are both on different channels, or the transmitter is turned off. This suggests to me that the receiver is recognising my transmitter as interference. Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue or a fix for this? Thanks
  20. Hi everyone! I happily joined the Line6 club recently and I am really surprised by the sounds I can get from my HD300 unit, but recently I started to have problems with the switches, nobody changed something in it hardware-wise, everything is factory-like. It's easier to show you in a video what's the problem so: I found out that by holding the A switch you enter in a button test mode "P16 TEST MODE", the screen shows "Knob ExtPdl" or "Knob IntPdl" and whatever I push it just jumps back at that and their value keep changing random. After a few days the problem got worse, now there are some LEDs that light up togheter with others, like the green tremolo light when the orange delay is on, and they sometimes flicker together with the tap LED. It's just like everything is short circuiting. I don't know if there is an authorized service in Romania so I could send them the unit.
  21. My Pod just stucking in the black screen, not even logo and rebooting trick doesn't work! Looking forward to the answer what to do!
  22. Hi there, I bought back in 2013 an UX2 Audio Interface, and until then, everything was working perfectly. Today I plugged the USB cable into my computer and these two red dots went on and off indefinitely... I tried other USB ports on my computer, desinstalling/reinstalling drivers, monkey, license manager, etc...Nothing does. I get this error code with LINE 6 MONKEY : "There was an error communicating with your device. If it is a USB device, try disconnecting then reconnecting the USB cable. Error: (Code 80007103) Failed read from firmware." Of course, disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable doesn't solve the problem... If anyone can help me out with this issue, I will be soooo grateful Here are my specs : Windows 8.1 LINE 6 POD UX2 Studio audio interface Intel Core i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz 8.00 Go RAM x64 bits system (please, excuse my english spelling) Thank you in advance :)
  23. Hey guys, So I'm using the POD X3 Live the last couple of years. I run it into my Macbook with its USB out, and most of the time I get my guitar tones with POD Farm 2, which was included with the X3 Live. After the recording session is done and the guitars are put away, I can mix, change amps, cabs effects etc virtually within POD Farm 2. Brilliant and convenient. My main issue with this? I have to have my POD X3 Live connected to the laptop at ALL TIMES in order to Authorize full use of POD Farm 2. This is because the License is contained within the actual POD X3 Live unit, and when its connected it activates the full version of POD Farm. I have the Line 6 License Manager and my laptop is an Authorized device... Which I assume should allow me full access to my software and not just the trial version. This is very frustrating if I am in the middle of mixing something and have to leave, as I want to be able to take the laptop with me and mix on the go when traveling. I shouldn't have to plug in and power up my X3 Live unit any time I want to change a few tones within POD Farm. I have tried a few different methods and DAWs, Logic, GarageBand and even Audacity as a test. They all register POD Farm as a plugin, but once I try to use it, its back to the trial version... Until I take the X3 Live out of its case, plug it in, hook it up and I'm back to having my full version. Can any of you kind folk at Line 6 help me out with this issue? I've been scouring the Internet for hours looking for a solution :( All the best, Colm
  24. I'm a new owner of Variax JTV-89F (by the way, I also had the 6th string loud resonance sound problem right from the start, just saying...) Sadly, tuning down the string physically, which I always do make the string tension just the way I like, is made impossible to use with modeling. I've been experiementin and seems like tuning the guitar to Eb standard works fine with all the modeling. At D standard some glitching occurs. C# standard is where the problem really starts and unfortunately that's the exact physical tuning I want. For some reason, at C# standard the 4th string gives that ring modulated sound with a wrong pitch. Other strings start glitching also if you tune down even lower. Also, the thickness of the strings doesn't make a difference here. It has to be something with the programming right? Cause again, string thickness doesn't change the problem at all. Modeling still works great with this tuning IF you don't use the alternate tuning knob or 12 strings where the Variax needs to detect the pitch. But that kinda takes away the whole point of the guitar. Before you ask "why don't you use thinner strings and tune to Eb then?", I think a .010 string is way too stiff even at Eb because I like bending notes a lot, It's perfect for me at C# and I don't want to use .009's or .008's because even .010's snap sometimes. Anything I could do to make C# work?
  25. Hello, I just purchased and received my first Variax (Standard) Sunburst. First of all, it's a beautiful guitar and plays very well and feels great. I bought this guitar because I really needed a guitar that I could take to a gig and have so many different guitar types and tuning available like I'm sure many of you are thinking alike. Well, I was getting to know my new guitar absolutely stoked out. It played good for about 3o minute then it made a quick screeching sound and I just shrugged it off as it is working with some complex modeling systems and I kept playing. Well, maybe 10 to 15 minutes later this large airy noises started coming out of the guitar. When I turn the modeling system off and just use the regular SSS (Single-coil) system it fine but every time I push down on the modeling pot to on that guitar modeling system it starts that airy sound again. It's pretty loud and something I can't get by with. I also notice the 4th string (D string) is quite softer then the rest. I guess a new set of strings and setup might help with that but I'm totally bummed out with the noise problem. Please anyone of you can help me please let me know. I'm thinking that this could be a common situation but not sure. Much aloha from Hawaii and mahalo (Thank You) in advance.
