  1. Hi there, this might sound like a silly question, but I'm having hard times figuring out how to have my click sound in ProTools that I can hear in my HX stomp. So far, the best I can do is to select Microsoft MIDI Mapper [emulated] > channel 1 as metronome output, but then I get the click on the computer speakers, not in my earphones (plugged on the stomp). If I select Line 6 HX Stomp [emulated] > channel 1, then I don't hear anything at all. Any hints? Thank you!
  2. Hi by using protools with another software mutools in the same computer i can use all rtas vst tdm plugins in realtime with a very few latency of 64 samples. just see the video demo here where i use protools with mutools https://www.ayewind.com/use-native-plugin-without-in-realtime-without-latency and another video demo where i use amp farm 2 rtas on bass and guitar with protools and cubase. thanks for your reply i will be happy to share with you how to make it wotk in your configuration. best regards weesch
  3. Hey everyone hoping someone can help me here. I'm trying to get my setup always "ready to role" based on my situation. I have my Helix setup to my PC through USB, setting the helix as amp and the cabinet is selected on the Powercab+ 112 using an AES cable between the helix and powercab. Using Variax as main work horse tl:dr - does anyone know if the AES Digital Output option can capture the final result and play it in protools? or am i doomed to just use the cabs in the Helix and only use the powercab at 'flat' settings? i am outputting the sound with 'digital' to use the AES cable. i have a keyboard hooked up thru the interface as well. it is using AUX in for direct audio playback, but then midi output for midi controlling in pro tools Because of this, path 1 input is VARIAX is outputting to DIGITAL path 2 input is AUX and output is USB 1/2 I'm able to record audio tracks fine from the keyboard in this setup, as well as capture midi. I'm also needing to make sure i can always do the ghost capture for raw guitar input (i have that on USB 7 no issues) If i set the output of path 1 to USB 3/4 i get the audio of the guitar without the settings in PowerCab. Main issue appears to be that - DIGITAL does not send/recieve - only really sends to PowerCab, and i'm not going to be able to capture that unless i have audio sending from the powercab back into the helix - but in this situation it is now a problem because i would have to change the Path 2 to support this audio. so back to the tl:dr - does anyone know if the AES Digital Output option can capture the final result and play it in protools? or am i doomed to just use the cabs in the Helix and only use the powercab at 'flat' settings?
  4. Hi, I just got the HX Stomp (not new to L6 or Eleven Rack). Typically I just use L/R Analog 1/4" to my pre's to record direct. My ProTools rig and Mac are pretty old. Mac is running 10.7.5 (Lion) with ProTools 10 and Avid Factory 003. I see the HX Stomp in my Midi Devices, and ProTools can even record direct from the USB, so I got that. The only issue is all peripherals and monitors are running through the Factory 003. I am hoping to be able to use the Factory 003 to drive the monitors. Yes, I have selected ProTools Aggregate I/O as the playback engine, but to no avail. (I was hoping anything in the aggregate would get routed to PT), no such luck. Worse case scenario, I unplug the HX Stomp's ins /outs (as I'm using it on my pedal board) and run separate cables to my preamp, but that's a PIA. Just leaving a USB connected would have been ideal. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
  5. Hello Folks, i just can't figure it out how to change snapshots using midi messages with protools!!!! Any Help? Thanks!
  6. Apple's new OS Mojave 10.14, has implemented a new security feature that can block input signals if not allowed access. Once a user has launched a DAW or stand alone plugin for the first time after the Mojave update, they will prompted to "allow mic access." If mic access is denied, user will not be able to receive an input via the specified software. To manually approve your software navigate to: System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Microphone From this menu, user will be granted the ability to approve any software that was previously denied.
  7. Hello, I cannot seem to get the dry tracking option working in ProTools with my Helix. I've tried reading the Helix manual, looking through Helix posts, ProTools posts and any videos I can find but nothing so far. Here is what I have set up: In Helix I have: USB connected to Windows 10 PC in Global Settings I have USB In 1/2 set to Multi In the patch I have output set to Multi In ProTools I have: Playback Engine set to Helix I/O is reset to default with the Helix settings that populate automatically Tried mono track set to input 7 as well as input 8 and get no audio Tried stereo track set to input 7/8 and have no audio In Windows I have: Audio device to recording and playback set to Helix If I select input 1 I can record the processed track fine...no issues, but I cannot get the dry track to record. This is my first time trying this as I have always recorded the XLR out of Helix into my Focusrite interface. I wanted to try recording a dry track so I can use Helix Native to process the sound. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
  8. I’m not getting sound from my HD500x when I try to go direct to my Scarlett 2i2 when I go out from the 1/4†out. I’m running protools and I’ve also tried the usb method it shows up in the playback engine but I still get no sound is there a way to go directly out of the POD into the Scarlett 2i2 with a 1/4†jack? I get sound when I play directly from my guitar into the interface but as soon as I try to go direct from the POD I lose all sound and I get nothing.
  9. Im new to recording and and just purchased Pro Tools 11 and the POD HD500, i know you can edit/create tones with the HD500 edit software, but is there a way to import the tones i made to Pro Tools 11? i use Steinburg UR22 as my audio interface usually i just record straight from interface and adjust the tones accordingly with the plug-ins included. however the if i could use the HD500 tones that would be easier. In addition, is this the best way to record? or should i record using my amplifier and mic? or directly into interface?
  10. Hello! I am having an issue with the microphone input on an old Toneport UX1 (Asio4All drivers - latest version) and Pro Tools 12. My input look OK (I think? - I tried to delete them all and set the as default again) - see screenshot attached but when I record a track, I can't get the Microphone to work (Mic gain is not at 0 and there is no On/off button on the Mic :) When I plug in my guitar, it works on both inputs (Line 6 TonePort UX1 1 or Line 6 Toneport UX1 2)... it looks like the 2 inputs showed there are for the guitar ? What about the microphone...how can I get/set the input so that I can record from the microphone ? If someone could help me out with this ! Thanks !
  11. I like the sound coming out of my amp with my m13, with a good mic it records well. I would like to know if it is possible to have the tempo on the m13 controlled by my daw so everything jives in my session. can I connect the m13 to my interface (rme ucx) and have the temp controlled this way? I love the idea that the bpm in my protools session would match my m13.
  12. hi there, i just installed protools 10 in to my pc and had some problems with the asio controller and with asingnig the out put trough the pod studio UX2, the input is fine tough, can some one tel me if it is compatible with the ux2??
  13. Hi all, I have happily been mixing recordings imported into protools up to now. Today I did my first mix from a recording after the 1.2 update and I'm really struggling with the levels being too low. Anyone else experienced this? I'm having to push the gain up to near max and then bouncing to disk and pushing the gain up again in the mastering stage to get any volume. I may have just made some error when recording in the first place but I can't think what...
