  1. HELLO LINE 6 BUDDIES! I'm two-track recording an acoustic guitar with my POD HD500X as the audio interface. I have a RODE NT1A condenser mic plugged into a mixer with phantom power. This mixer is then connected to the POD's 'Guitar In' input via guitar lead, and there is also an acoustic guitar connected to the 'AUX' input for a direct signal. This is all running through Logic Pro X on my Macbook Pro (Early 2015) with 16GB RAM. I have used this setup before and it has all worked fine, except today I am hearing intermittent static coming from both inputs at seemingly random intervals. It sounds like a short burst of a bitcrusher-like sound, and then goes back to normal after less than a second. It can't be any problem with the mic/mixer because I am getting the problem on AUX (direct input) as well as the Guitar In (mic) input. I have tried different USB cables, and have tried different power outlets. I have also tried a different audio interface (that can unfortunately only handle one input) that didn't seem to have the same problem, leading me to think that it also isn't an issue with Logic Pro X... SO... Has this happened to anyone before, and can anyone think of any reason this might be happening? Yeah, I've turned it off and on again ;)
  2. Hello guys, i am new here and i want an advice from you. i have Pod HD 500x and i have Reaper for recording. my problems are:- first thing when i connect the pod to my laptod the sound is really bad, i hear the sound of the guitar like there are 2 guitars plugged into the laptod with an Echo, and sometimes there is no sound at all. i dont know what am doing wrong there, but can anyone tell me the proper way to connect the pod to the laptod?? second thing, how can i get a distortion sound and a clean sound at the same time using 2 tracks or channels on reaper while am recording??? thanks
  3. Hi there, new to the forum since there's a problem that's been killing me for some time ago. In fact, I've just returned from the technical support and paid about 100 € (that should be a new unit, for lollipops sake) and the problem will persist even though they said that it worked perfectly. My PC recognizes the signal of my XT Live unit when I plug it through the USB. I've been playing with several knobs and it won't record anything but a noisy tiny chirping even when I turn the volume of my guitar to the max and play with different controls likewise. I've read plenty of FAQ and tutorials and I don't find the way out of this hell. I've flashed the unit, reinstalled drivers, returned to default settings to no avail. I thought that the power supply might be the problem, since I bought a cheap one through eBay that was listed as for specific use of this very unit, but its input is AC and the output DC, so I don't really know..., if that was the problem, is there any reliable site to get the real deal? Thanks in advance for your help.
  4. SO i need help using the pod hd500x with my daw (reaper). i have both of the guitars connected. one is connected via aux one is via guitar. but i just cant figure out how to split the channels so when i go to my daw. my left guitar only comes from that speaker and my second guitar the right only comes from the right. need help tracking for a friend and me and we cant seem to get it.
  5. I am able to find effects and and tone editing software but nothing to record. I have the "Spider V Remote Version 1.00" and it claims to have recording ability but I couldn't figure it out... can anybody help?
  6. Hi All Wanted to see how you are using dual amp setups. I have been experimenting trying to get a tone I like using two amps hard panned. Since I play in a three piece (Guitar Bass, Drums) it gets kinda thin sometimes so I tried doing some effects on one path or the other which ended up sounding pretty cool. This video was set to our recent online live session and has this kind of dual path setup described above. Path A Soldano Lead Panned hard right with a tremolo in line Path B Rectifier With a Pitch Whammy panned hard left I leave the mix so that the Guitar path stays complete while leaving the effects to create a kind of 'been over dubuded' sound but still only the one live performance
  7. Hello, first time using the forums since I wasn't able to find a concrete answer to the issue I'm having here or on the Reaper forums. I have two issues. First issue. I am unable to have anything playing on my computer playback through my headphones that I have connected to my POD HD500. I have my POD HD500 connected via USB to my computer. In the Sound panel, when I have the 'Line 6 POD HD500' set as my default Playback device, anything that I try to play does not play. For example... I go to YouTube to play a song, and the video doesn't start. Same for when I am playing something back in Reaper, I push play and nothing happens. Why is this? Second issue. I am unable to record in Reaper. This probably has something to do with the first issue, but I am going to write it out regardless. As said, I have the POD HD500 connected via USB to my computer. In Reaper's preferences under Audio > Device, I have the following... Audio System: ASIO ASIO Driver: ASIO POD HD500 Is there something that I am missing? I'm feeling frustrated since I recorded something a few weeks ago and I didn't have this much trouble getting things to work. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
  8. I bought a new mic (a Shure SM57) to record my amp – but I did not succeed in recording with the mic via Helix. In my opinion everything is setup right – the strange thing is, when a line level from my amp using the same cable is recorded I can hear the amp in Logic Pro X (via USB1), but when I use the SM57 nothing is recorded. My first suggestion was that the SM57 is DOA. But with another audio interface it works fine. So it can't bei the mic cable (because it works with line level), it can't be the SM57 (because it works on my second audio interface) and it can't be the routing in Helix (because line level via mic in is recorded). Has anyone any ideas what can be wrong? Phantom power is off (like it should be) … When I increase mic level in global settings the hiss increases but there is no sound coming from the mic. Absolutely nothing …
  9. Does anyone know if I can import a drum loop from my Spider V into Cubase? I would like to import the (kick beat) loop into Cubase without using the built-in audio microphone on the Mac. Anyone have success doing this?
  10. Just started using Windows10S. Would be nice if Line6 software comes to the Windows store. It’s not possible to install ‘exe’ files with this version (and that is ok for me). Line6 can use Microsofts Desktop Bridge.
  11. I recently got the free trial of helix native to see if the helix was for me. I've been looking at it for a long time. Now that I have it, all my tones are muddy. When I record, the notes sound like one long jumbled and distorted mess. I record through a Scarlett 2i2 with the input gain super low because that helps. My question is, how would I fix this? Is it the Scarlett's gain that's the problem? Would the helix floor or rack have the same issues recording through that input as opposed to recording through a separate interface? Thanks
  12. Hi ..Just thought i would share... This is a recording of a live Jam session over the internet from Canada, No California and Denver. Completely live using Jamkazam.com software. (in realtime) Delay was about 28 ms from each location. 512 kbps constant bit rate, stereo. The additional pads are coming from my HD500 connected with the 1/4 cable from the Variax. Its pretty awesome what we can do now and not even be in the same location https://hearthis.at/joejeffries/supermassivemomentum-live-8-5-2017/ Helix using firmware 2.21, HD500 and Variax
  13. Hi! Yesterday we wanted to do a quick demo recording of our band in our rehearsal room before hitting a studio in october. But, I couldn't figure out how to get 8 simultaneous inputs working. Here's what I managed to do: By setting the input of the first signal path to 'return 1/2' (and the output to USB 1/2), the input of the second signal path to 'return 3/4' (and the output to USB 3/4), and using the 'guitar in', We got 5 simultaneous inputs working (1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 which the 'guitar in' is routed to). But when I plugged a dynamic mic directly to the 'mic in' I didn't get anything on channel 8 - this should work, right? Maybe it was a faulty cable? Is there a physical input I can route to outputs USB 5/6?
  14. Does anyone know how the USB works if at all for direct recording from the amp using the USB connection? I am using the Presonus Audio box II and it is connected to my PC win 10, and I have downloaded the updater driver and can see my Firehawk 1500 on the pc in the LINE 6 updater window. However, there is no driver or updates that I know of for the interface so that the amp can communicate with the DAW. Usually, you hook up the amp to the pc or the audio interface, and it will recognize the amp and you are on your way. What am I missing here. I had some other users state that MONKEY line 6 can do this, but it doesn't list firehawk 1500 as a part of its support. Someone please confirm if this is doable or am I wasting my time? All of the other modeling amps can do this, and the amplifi can as well, PLEASE help, thanks! Roland
  15. Hi guys! Got a Helix for about 1,5 year now. Thought that I can share some recording where I used it. 1 guitar - Helix (with IRs) 2 guitar - Line6 POD HD500 + Torpedo CAB (for the IRs) The song is from album "Bullets" made by my band - Spiral. Whole album was recorded that way. We actually used real amp once in this album in one short guitar phrase. At the time of the recording I had it for about month, so did not fiddle a lot around :) https://www.facebook.com/Spiralmusicband/videos/10155172946121839/ Since then - second guitarist also obtained Helix and we used it live on two tours, it never failed us :) If the sound is somehow appealing to you - I can share the presets that we use on this song. Have a nice day!
  16. So, I'm having a problem, and I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I can hope one of you might be able to help. I'm a newbie to this kind of stuff, most of the time I've figured things out by random trial and error. The problem I'm having is that my microphone is not being detected by Windows, it doesn't show up at all. I've tried a variety of things, but if you think you have a solution, assume I haven't tried it. If you can, I would like details and step by step stuff, I'm not great at improv direction. I'm a streamer and Youtuber, and the mic and interface was chosen because it's the the popular choice among other streamers. Details of my setup: Mic: AT 2035 Interface: Line 6 UX2 PC: Custom OS: Windows 10 Pro Motherboard: Crossfire V Formula Z CPU: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.01 GHz Ram: 16.0 GB GPU: GTX 1080 Founder Edition Recording Software: OBS Picture 1: Current configuration of Pod Farm 2 Version: 2.59 Details: As seen, all three items in the configuration are turned on. Input is set to mic 1, and as seen from the levels the mic is working and the software is registering audio. Picture 2: Pod Farm License Manager Details: As seen, both my computer and the UX2 Interface are authorized. Something I see, there are add-on's in UX2 but not on my pc, not sure if that is significant. Picture 3: Playback and Recording Details: "Speakers 3 - Line 6 UX2" from the UX2 obviously "NVIDIA HDMI Output (Port 1 - 3)" Are my monitors "SONY TV - 4" Another of my monitors "AT Headphones" My headphones "Realtek Digital Output (1 - 2)" Not sure, but from the disc that came with my motherboard "Digital Audio Interface 3 - Line 6 UX2" from the UX2 obviously "Microphone" This is not the AT 2035. I'm unsure what it is, but when listening to audio its just the same droning noise. Might be an audio jack on the computer itself. "Line In" No clue on this. "Stereo Mix" Not sure what this does, but it is also from the disc that came with the motherboard. That's everything that I can think to include. If you need more information in order to help I will do my best to answer. So, if you might know of a solution, please do say.
  17. I have set up the VSTs for for Podfarm in Reaper. I am currently running EZdrummer 2 and importing drum tracks easily; however, I am having issues recording through the Podfarm VST. I cannot hear my guitar when I'm playing along with the drum track, whether recording is armed or not; however, the track does pick up the signal when recording and when I hit playback, I can hear the guitar tone through Podfarm. The problem is that it is nearly impossible (at least for me) to record along with a drumbeat without being able to hear my guitar. How do I set up Reaper so that I can hear myself both when I am recording and when the recording is being played back? PS, this is my absolute first time attempting home recording, so I am an extreme beginner.
  18. Got good results recording 6 channels same time with my TonePort UX8. It was four mic (Glyb Johns method) to drum kit (2x MXL V67G + SM57 on snare + ? on kick drum), guitar and bass in line using POD Farm. No stops, no extra noise. Computer Toshiba satellite_A505-S6033 (2009), 8G RAM, Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Processor 1.6 GHz (2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology), 6MB L3 Cache Sonar Platinum Had to reduce audio file quality to allow upload. 19. Hi, so I've just started using the Torpedo Wall Of Sound VST as the cab sims in the Pro X just weren't doing it for me for home recording - besides the WoS. Just after a little help on how to get the best out of this please, running with the Pod as the interface in USB mode. 1) Am I right in thinking use the "Pre" versions is the way to go or is that subjective? 2) Even with the cabs off on the Pod, it still seems to be coloured by the mic selection - is there a way around this? 3) I'm currently in studio/direct mode, would another mode be better suited for this? 4) Any general observations when using VST cab impulses with the HD Pro X / similar line 6 products?
  20. Hi, I'm wondering if there's any way to record from the amplifi to an Android device; either by USB or Bluetooth. Thanks for any advice.
  21. Hi everybody! First, thanks for your help and excuse me for my bad english. I would like to record my Pod HD (desktop) on Cubase (8.5) but i'm not sure how to adjust the "mixer output" to have the best sound? I know i have to record on a mono track on cubase but the output of the pod is in stéréo if i'm right. So, how i have to adjust the path A and B in the mixer? Is there a difference of sound when we set the mixer ? I have to put path A 100% Left and path B 100% Right or 0% for the both or A and B 100% Left? Is there a difference if I use the amps dual mode? Thanks for your answers Shenann
  22. Hi I have UX1 interface and Laney Ironheart 120 and I want to record my amp using UX1 and PODFarm. Recently I've read in amp manual that i have 'FX SEND 1/4' mono jacket socket' which I can use for an external FX unit, or as a line out for recording. So my question is: Am I able to connect amp to UX1's line inputs and record directly? Or would it damage UX1/Amp? Regards Peter
  23. if I mute a channel will it still be recorded on the SD card when recording mic inputs only.
  24. This is my current setup: Stage Piano & other instruments ->[analog XLR] -> Digital Mixer ->[s/PDIF]-> Helix ->[uSB]-> PC Essentially I am using my Helix as an audio interface (obviously on top of guitar FX, guitar input is not shown there but it's connected straight to the helix). I am NOT using the S/PDIF input as a guitar input, the guitar is connected to the Helix 1/4 jack. Essentially I am using the S/PDIF input as an extra input that I just want to route to another USB pair (say 3/4). Now, I can make all this work within a given preset, by setting the routing as follows: (Guitar IN) -> Amp & FX Chain -> (Multi out, USB 1/2) (S/PDIF IN) -> (No FX on this chain) -> (USB 3/4) This works great, there is only a major drawback: I have to repeat this pattern in all my presets, which is extremely tedious and inconvenient. What I would like instead is a global routing assignment (similar to what is possible to do today for the analog headphones out in the global settings). Regardless of the current preset I would like S/PDIF in to always be routed to USB 3/4 (or 5/6). Clearly I would be totally fine if doing that would remove the S/PDIF from the list of inputs for a preset (there is already precent for this when using the Variax input). I think that, in the current firmware, this is just not possible (but I am happy to be proven wrong). So I think this is more a feature request for the next firmware. Line 6 folks, does it sound reasonable?
  25. Hi guys, I'm currently running my Helix in 4CM with my Victory Sheriff 22, and getting great tones! I'm now looking to add a Suhr Reactive Load into the mix! The plan is: Guitar -> Helix Guitar in Helix Send 1 -> Sheriff Input Sheriff Send -> Helix Return 1 Helix 1/4 Out -> Sheriff Return Sheriff 8ohm Speaker Out -> Suhr Reactive Load -> Helix Return 2 (set to Line level) -> USB Out to Macbook Path 1, would contain my tone related blocks (effects etc), input set to guitar in, and output set to 1/4 Out. Path 2, would contain a Cab/IR, input set to Return 2, and output set to USB. My question is, should this work? Am I at risk of damaging anything in this way? It would be the ideal home recording solution for me. Any help would be massively appreciated! :) Cheers guys!
