Just bought a fbv shortboard for my Spider IV 150 primarily for the pc connectivity. My other Spider V (30 and 20) amps will record directly to Audacity on my PC. All I had to do was select the device from the audio input devices in the program. But when I plug the shortboard into my pc I do not get the option to select it. Is there a driver, or a step I may be missing here? I do get connectivity to the Spider IV edit software so I know there is a connection to the pc, but nothing in the device menus for recording.

Hi everyone. Really hope that somebody can help me. Here is what I wanted: I want to record 2 tracks simultaneously in Reaper. 1 track - DI signal from guitar 2 track - Signal that was processed by POD FX (like a pedalboard), then it goes to real amp (which input should I use - guitar in or FX return?), and then this signal is picked up by real Mic that is connected to POD Mic in input, and then this signal goes to PC as a second track. Is it possible? Please advise how to set it properly, I tried to do it, but got feedbacks when the mic is put towards the cabinet. I got stuck I've attached the picture of what I mean Many thanks in advance

Hey guys, needed some help here. Im using my Firehawk FX to record some music for. I have it running into my computer with USB, and I'm using SONAR Artist as my DAW, if that makes a difference. I have two tracks, one for the left and one for the right coming from the Firehawk, and my output is also the Firehawk. It records fine without problems, but during playback it has this awful popping and crackling noise to it. Is there anyway I can fix this? Thank you in advanced.

Hi, I am pretty new on home studio. I have been playing gigs all the time and went to studios to record. Unfortunately I don't have any idea about recording setup. I've got a Line 6 SPider V 240HC and a Mac with Logic Pro, but no audio interface. How can I record guitar track on Logic Pro using my Spider v 240 HC. Thanks

I was wondering if anyone knows for sure what level the XLR outputs are on the SPider V 240? Are they Mic level, Instrument level, or Line level?

Hi. First of all, sorry for possible bad english. I am about to buy helix along with some kind of speakers. I know that there are tons of topis related to speakers to use with helix but most of them are old and dont answer my specific doubt (actually most dont aproach dialing tones with recording in mind). My band have a pair of JBL EON615. I guess they might be good to dial tones to use live(most places i play already have a PA system with floor monitors) but i am not sure if tones to use live will translate well to record. For recording purposes i guess studio monitors with speakers of 5'',6'',7'' or 8'' are better suited.. am i right? if so, Could you give me some recommendations of something around $400? And the other way around would work well? i mean... tones dialed to record could be used live with good fidelity? It seens way to much effort in having to dial each patch twice. One for live use and other for recording. Finally..... Am i just thinking to much? i could just dial tones in the JBL and then record with them and the results would be good? Thank you in advance for the help

Hi, I have a Helix Rack and was facing some routing issues, which I'd be grateful if anyone could advise on. I'm using Path 1A in the patch for the EQ/Amp/Cab/Delay/Reverb/ Volume without anything else on Path 1B. I have connected the outputs of my Boss Eband JS10 to Return 1&2 as the Input Block on Path 2A. This is basically for playing backing tracks/ drum patterns from the Boss EBand JS10 into the Helix for jamming with and making patches/ testing new ideas. What I'm also doing is using Send 1 and 2 as the physical outputs and connecting them with a Y Cable to the "1/8th Aux In" of the Boss Eband JS10 so that I can record my basic ideas on the fly without having to use the laptop/ computer and can later import them into my DAW. [The Eband has a convenient recording option for recording basic ideas]. However, when I select the output on Path 1A as "Multi", whatever I play doesn't get recorded into the Boss Eband JS10. But when the output on Path 1A is selected as Send 1 and 2, then what I'm playing gets recorded into the Eband JS 10. My problem is that I would also like to use Path 1A with the "Multi" output to record final ideas into the DAW through USB and at the same also have a back up recording on the Boss Eband JS10 with all the effects of whichever patch I'm using. This does not seem to be possible as the "Multi" output setting doesn't record into the Eband using the Send 1 and 2 and if I change the output to Send 1 and 2, on Path 1A then I probably won't be able to record into my DAW using "Multi/ USB 1/2". I also tried to copy all the effects on Path 1A and make a completely separate signal chain on Path 2B within the patch with the input as "Multi" and output as "Send 1&2. This worked but the sound quality and volume seemed to be much lower in the recording compared to choosing the "Send 1 and 2" output from Path 1A. Can anyone help me with the routing of the sound to an external recorder or multi track recorder and is it possible to do what I'd want to do? Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers Prash

Hi all, Using the Stagescape M20D, I recorded my band practicing last night and would love to know how to play back just selected tracks so I can jam along with the recording. I realize that I can import the tracks (drums, guitar, keyboard, and vocals) into my DAW, create a mix for me to practice along with on guitar, and then jam to that, but it would save me some steps if instead I could just play back the recorded band rehearsal using the M20D, somehow mute the guitar track, and then jam along with that, through the M20D. So what I'm trying to do is play my guitar through the M20D while I jam along with a recording made with the M20D (and being played back on the M20D), while muting selected tracks (the original guitar track in this case). Does anyone know how to do this? I scanned the manual and am not finding any obvious references to it. Thanks for your help! Scott

Hello folks! We (my band) just recently purchased the M20d and been in love with it! :) We're going to make our first show using it this Saturday, and we're trying to have everything ready to try to record the set (or at least parts of it). While I've been able to easily connect an SD Card (and also hooking the board up to a pc with the USB cable), I've been having some trouble trying to connect a USB external hard drive or even pendrives. For now, I've tried connecting 3 different external HDD, two formated in NTFS and another one in FAT32, neither were recognized by the board. I also tried 2 pendrives, one is 8GB and FAT32 format, it didn't work. The other one is an old one I had here, it's 2GB and FAT format, and it worked perfectly.... What's the secret?? Hehehe... I'd really like to be able to use one of the externl HDD since those would give me much more recording time and would be easier to use with the pc later. Thanks in advance for your attention!!

Hello, i´m really excited from this AMP but there is still something to improve *imho - Why is it not possible to get tones from the cloud with the PC-Remote-App?? - Recording over USB with dry and wet Signal? - Dry and Wet Signal for the Direct Outs? - PODfarm-Tones not compatible with Spider-Tones. Why? - a record mode for the FBV2 to start/stop/record the Loop with the Pedal I hope there are some Ideas for the next update :)

Hi all! Just wonder why Line6 didn't allow us to make record using mobile app. If we connected our phone/tablet to the amp why do not use USB recording? Personally, I do not need full-option DAW but I would like to record my play. Moreover, I would like to use my mobile/tablet as a source of drum loops or backing track through mobile app. Any chance we could get these options in the future?

Quick question, I recently bought a spider 5 the 60 watt one. I went to download the cubase software and once I got the downloader app running I noticed there were about 22 different programs within cubase to download. For example Cubase pro 9.5, Cubase artist 9.5, Absolute collection 2, 3, and many more. So my question is which ones am I suppose to download for recording on my computer directly through the spider 5 or should I just download them all?

Hello, I cannot seem to get the dry tracking option working in ProTools with my Helix. I've tried reading the Helix manual, looking through Helix posts, ProTools posts and any videos I can find but nothing so far. Here is what I have set up: In Helix I have: USB connected to Windows 10 PC in Global Settings I have USB In 1/2 set to Multi In the patch I have output set to Multi In ProTools I have: Playback Engine set to Helix I/O is reset to default with the Helix settings that populate automatically Tried mono track set to input 7 as well as input 8 and get no audio Tried stereo track set to input 7/8 and have no audio In Windows I have: Audio device to recording and playback set to Helix If I select input 1 I can record the processed track fine...no issues, but I cannot get the dry track to record. This is my first time trying this as I have always recorded the XLR out of Helix into my Focusrite interface. I wanted to try recording a dry track so I can use Helix Native to process the sound. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Just set up my old Pod XT Live on new(ish) Win10 x64 machine. All drivers are now installed and up to date (according to the latest version of Monkey). Everything seems to work fine except there is quite a delay between hitting a string on my guitar and hearing the output via my soundcard. I could just monitor using headphones into the Pod, but it would be nice not to have to if there is any way to fix this issue. Is it just because I'm basically using two sound devices and the signal is being routed from the Pod through my soundcard, or is there something I can tweak somewhere that might fix it? Cheers for any help.

I've been trying for about 2 days to no success. I followed all the steps on the Cubase Help site that and set the driver to the spider and the inputs to the spider as well but when I press record nothing happens. Can someone please help set me up? I have no idea how to record my amp on Cubase Le

Okay so I know Helix isn’t made for this but it almost works! I have a Behringer UMC404 which I use 3 mics plugged into XLR inputs. works great. but I’d like to use a compressor and some vocal effects live. I’ve gone from the Behringer to the Helix via the inserts on the back using a Y cable into the send and return of the effects loop o the helix. It works but I think because the helix output is Send 1/2 Send 3/4 for some reason, The first mic in input one suddenly picks up Mic input 2. so what I mean is when I use the mic plugged into the first input it also comes through input 1 and 2. everything else is fine except I can’t seem to get input 1 and 3 to be serperate. im sure no one has done this and not much advice but if anyone has an idea please let me know! sorry for my grammar etc I’m typing Ona. Japanese keyboard and English is hard to change to.

So I've recently starting experimenting with Reaper. I've been recording directly into the Reaper via my Helix, however I think the overall sound could probably be tweaked a little. BUT I'm not sure how or where to start.. Do I need additional software or programs to be able to do that? Or can I do that via Reaper? Ideally, what would be the best way? (the simpler the better for me!) Thanks.

Hey guys, I have had my Helix for about 2 months now and I am staring to use it as a DAW for recording and I am getting excellent results. However the one thing I am struggling with a bit is getting a good vocal sound. I created a couple of mic based presets to use, and they are ok, but they could be alot better. I was wondering if anyone could recommend some settings that might help. I want at least 2 settings. One for harsh vocals that would be crisp and edgy but still sound "big". and a second for warm melodic vocals that will be clear and clean but still have that sense of space to it. I know that any tone sound is subjective, but any tips on how to get started creating good mic tones would be great. Another issue I have is input volume. I record direct from the Helix to my laptop. I use the program Reaper to record my tracks. I find that when I bring in a new track, I seem to have no control of the currently inputting instrument monitor volume from the mixer in Reaper so it is really hard to balance the volume so I can hear playback when recording. The Volume knob on the Helix seems to do nothing. I have been adjusting for this by changing the patch output levels, as this seems to be the only way to level it out. But I am worried that this will cause reduced gain in the recording. Any tips on managing this volume issue?

+I read a thread recently that was really high on using a Radial Dragster with the POD XT, or any type of amp sim. Anyone else use the Dragster with their POD? How did it work out for ya? I don't have an amp at the moment, so I'm looking for anything (that's fairly cheap) to improve my guitar tone when recording. Right now I'm just plugging the POD XT's L+R outputs into two of my interface's line inputs.

Hi Everyone, I do a lot of recordings, guitar and backing tracks. I've always done so with an external multitrack recorder. It would be a lot more convenient if I could record on my laptop connecting my helix via USB. I have tried this many different ways and gotten mainly frustration. I wish Line 6 offered their own PC multitrack recorder that was certain to work well with their products. What I wish would work, is like this, I plug my helix into my PC by USB, and plug my headphones into my PC (not my Helix) and pull my backing track into my recording software, play along and record. I have not been able to make this work. The only thing that I got working was plugging my headphones into my helix, playing along with my backing tracks, which sounds good, but the recordings sound crap due to latency. Can anybody advise me, is what I want possible?

Hi. I've been trying to record the amp via the USB connection straight into my PC then into Cubase LE. But I get sound from the amp and from my computer speakers, and the sound from the computer speakers are delayed just a bit. I'm assuming that since we get a copy of Cubase LE that this is all supposed to work correctly. So what am I doing wrong? Are we supposed to use a recording interface? And if so, how do you connect the Spider amp to it? Confused.

Hi All, I am looking for free DAW software and i found Cakewalk from Bandlab and would like to share this tip with you. So far, i think it's the best DAW software available for free. It looks very nice and does an amazing good job ! At home i am using it to record tracks directly from my Helix LT over USB. And it works like a charm. As i am fond of sharing tips and tricks, i wrote a small tutorial for installing and first use of Cakewalk to record directly from the Line 6 Helix (LT) You can find the tutorial here ! Hope you will find it handy en will enjoy it !

Hello, I'm planning to start recording and I have a huge problem with my gear. When any noise goes through my microphone (Shure SM57) and my sound card (Line6 UX2) it goes out of tune, something like half a step lower, no matter if pod farm is on or not. People I chatted with have noticed it and it makes recording impossible. I don't know whether the problem comes from my sound card, my microphone or myself, and I would like some help, I have no idea what's happening.

Been recording with the Line 6 helix as my primary audio interface. Works ok for guitar parts, with direct monitoring but as soon as I switch to virtual instruments, anything below 256 samples gives me some clicks and pops. 256 samples has a latency of around 8-9 ms. I have been considering getting an Audient ID14. Questions: 1. Will this improve the latency situation for use with Virtual instruments? (soft synths, kontakt etc....) 2. How do I connect the Helix to the SPDIF in on the Audient? 3. Will I have to keep changing the sample rate on the Audient when moving from Helix recording to VI recording etc. etc.? 4. Will I have to connect the Helix both via a line out and via SPDIF to acheive reamping functionality? I also welcome suggestions for other interfaces. 300 USD max please...
