  1. So, I'm having a problem, and I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I can hope one of you might be able to help. I'm a newbie to this kind of stuff, most of the time I've figured things out by random trial and error. The problem I'm having is that my microphone is not being detected by Windows, it doesn't show up at all. I've tried a variety of things, but if you think you have a solution, assume I haven't tried it. If you can, I would like details and step by step stuff, I'm not great at improv direction. I'm a streamer and Youtuber, and the mic and interface was chosen because it's the the popular choice among other streamers. Details of my setup: Mic: AT 2035 Interface: Line 6 UX2 PC: Custom OS: Windows 10 Pro Motherboard: Crossfire V Formula Z CPU: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.01 GHz Ram: 16.0 GB GPU: GTX 1080 Founder Edition Recording Software: OBS Picture 1: Current configuration of Pod Farm 2 Version: 2.59 Details: As seen, all three items in the configuration are turned on. Input is set to mic 1, and as seen from the levels the mic is working and the software is registering audio. Picture 2: Pod Farm License Manager Details: As seen, both my computer and the UX2 Interface are authorized. Something I see, there are add-on's in UX2 but not on my pc, not sure if that is significant. Picture 3: Playback and Recording Details: "Speakers 3 - Line 6 UX2" from the UX2 obviously "NVIDIA HDMI Output (Port 1 - 3)" Are my monitors "SONY TV - 4" Another of my monitors "AT Headphones" My headphones "Realtek Digital Output (1 - 2)" Not sure, but from the disc that came with my motherboard "Digital Audio Interface 3 - Line 6 UX2" from the UX2 obviously "Microphone" This is not the AT 2035. I'm unsure what it is, but when listening to audio its just the same droning noise. Might be an audio jack on the computer itself. "Line In" No clue on this. "Stereo Mix" Not sure what this does, but it is also from the disc that came with the motherboard. That's everything that I can think to include. If you need more information in order to help I will do my best to answer. So, if you might know of a solution, please do say.
  2. I have set up the VSTs for for Podfarm in Reaper. I am currently running EZdrummer 2 and importing drum tracks easily; however, I am having issues recording through the Podfarm VST. I cannot hear my guitar when I'm playing along with the drum track, whether recording is armed or not; however, the track does pick up the signal when recording and when I hit playback, I can hear the guitar tone through Podfarm. The problem is that it is nearly impossible (at least for me) to record along with a drumbeat without being able to hear my guitar. How do I set up Reaper so that I can hear myself both when I am recording and when the recording is being played back? PS, this is my absolute first time attempting home recording, so I am an extreme beginner.
  3. Got good results recording 6 channels same time with my TonePort UX8. It was four mic (Glyb Johns method) to drum kit (2x MXL V67G + SM57 on snare + ? on kick drum), guitar and bass in line using POD Farm. No stops, no extra noise. Computer Toshiba satellite_A505-S6033 (2009), 8G RAM, Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Processor 1.6 GHz (2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology), 6MB L3 Cache Sonar Platinum Had to reduce audio file quality to allow upload. 4. Hi, so I've just started using the Torpedo Wall Of Sound VST as the cab sims in the Pro X just weren't doing it for me for home recording - besides the WoS. Just after a little help on how to get the best out of this please, running with the Pod as the interface in USB mode. 1) Am I right in thinking use the "Pre" versions is the way to go or is that subjective? 2) Even with the cabs off on the Pod, it still seems to be coloured by the mic selection - is there a way around this? 3) I'm currently in studio/direct mode, would another mode be better suited for this? 4) Any general observations when using VST cab impulses with the HD Pro X / similar line 6 products?
  5. Hi, I'm wondering if there's any way to record from the amplifi to an Android device; either by USB or Bluetooth. Thanks for any advice.
  6. Hi everybody! First, thanks for your help and excuse me for my bad english. I would like to record my Pod HD (desktop) on Cubase (8.5) but i'm not sure how to adjust the "mixer output" to have the best sound? I know i have to record on a mono track on cubase but the output of the pod is in stéréo if i'm right. So, how i have to adjust the path A and B in the mixer? Is there a difference of sound when we set the mixer ? I have to put path A 100% Left and path B 100% Right or 0% for the both or A and B 100% Left? Is there a difference if I use the amps dual mode? Thanks for your answers Shenann
  7. Hi I have UX1 interface and Laney Ironheart 120 and I want to record my amp using UX1 and PODFarm. Recently I've read in amp manual that i have 'FX SEND 1/4' mono jacket socket' which I can use for an external FX unit, or as a line out for recording. So my question is: Am I able to connect amp to UX1's line inputs and record directly? Or would it damage UX1/Amp? Regards Peter
  8. Hi all, hope you can help. I'm trying to record guitar and vocals at the same time through my Toneport UX2 but seem to be unable to do this. When set to just vocals, I can record that fine, when I set to guitar that's fine, but when I use "inst & Mic 1" as the source, the recording only picks up the guitar, whether I record on stereo or mono 1 or mono 2 it's the same result. I've tried going in to Ableton, Audacity and Adobe Audition and all have given the same result. One thing I have noted is that in my hardware settings, the ASIO client reads as "none" and I'm not sure how to fix that. I've updated drivers but this hasn't changed. I'll be honest, I don't fully understand what ASIO and MME are so I may be looking at the wrong things. Thanks in advance.
  9. Hi guys, I have the Firehawk FX, and I also have Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface which I normally use to record my vocal with a condenser mic. Now a shop nearby has Sennheiser mic 50% discount. As I'm looking forward to recording my electric guitar in the future, and I heard that dynamic mic suits the job, this is a good chance to buy one. The problem is I'm not sure if I should or need it. Which way, in your opinion, is the better way to record the electric guitar between ... Guitar --> Firehawk (with amp simulation) --> Audio Interface (Scarlett 2i2) --> PC VS Guitar --> Firehawk (for effects) --> Amp (a small tube amp, Vox AC4C1-BL) --> Mic --> Audio Interface (Scarlett 2i2) --> PC Thanks a lot guys.
  10. if I mute a channel will it still be recorded on the SD card when recording mic inputs only.
  11. This is my current setup: Stage Piano & other instruments ->[analog XLR] -> Digital Mixer ->[s/PDIF]-> Helix ->[uSB]-> PC Essentially I am using my Helix as an audio interface (obviously on top of guitar FX, guitar input is not shown there but it's connected straight to the helix). I am NOT using the S/PDIF input as a guitar input, the guitar is connected to the Helix 1/4 jack. Essentially I am using the S/PDIF input as an extra input that I just want to route to another USB pair (say 3/4). Now, I can make all this work within a given preset, by setting the routing as follows: (Guitar IN) -> Amp & FX Chain -> (Multi out, USB 1/2) (S/PDIF IN) -> (No FX on this chain) -> (USB 3/4) This works great, there is only a major drawback: I have to repeat this pattern in all my presets, which is extremely tedious and inconvenient. What I would like instead is a global routing assignment (similar to what is possible to do today for the analog headphones out in the global settings). Regardless of the current preset I would like S/PDIF in to always be routed to USB 3/4 (or 5/6). Clearly I would be totally fine if doing that would remove the S/PDIF from the list of inputs for a preset (there is already precent for this when using the Variax input). I think that, in the current firmware, this is just not possible (but I am happy to be proven wrong). So I think this is more a feature request for the next firmware. Line 6 folks, does it sound reasonable?
  12. Hi guys, I'm currently running my Helix in 4CM with my Victory Sheriff 22, and getting great tones! I'm now looking to add a Suhr Reactive Load into the mix! The plan is: Guitar -> Helix Guitar in Helix Send 1 -> Sheriff Input Sheriff Send -> Helix Return 1 Helix 1/4 Out -> Sheriff Return Sheriff 8ohm Speaker Out -> Suhr Reactive Load -> Helix Return 2 (set to Line level) -> USB Out to Macbook Path 1, would contain my tone related blocks (effects etc), input set to guitar in, and output set to 1/4 Out. Path 2, would contain a Cab/IR, input set to Return 2, and output set to USB. My question is, should this work? Am I at risk of damaging anything in this way? It would be the ideal home recording solution for me. Any help would be massively appreciated! :) Cheers guys!
  13. Hey guys, I recently bought a Pocket POD and had it shipped overseas. I'm currently deployed and figured it would be easier than having an actual amp here. I wanted to maybe record onto my laptop, but I know you can't via USB and also unless I buy a speaker to plug into, the laptop mic isn't much use. Are there any ways to record directly into my laptop without buying a soundboard and things like that? I used to work at a recording studio when I was younger, but that was years ago and we had tons of equipment. Now I'm pretty limited on both equipment and space. I'd like to have direct access from the POD to the laptop to get the raw sound from the POD instead of recording into a mic. I appreciate the help.
  14. Hi, recorded this live (live over VoIP) in real time over the internet from Denver, SF and Canada. All improvisation then made a video for it. HELIX sounds great! https://youtu.be/l4Z4bYPsUuw
  15. Okay so as a graduation present, I was given a brand new POD HD500x All I have is one xlr cable which fits but doesn't go all the way into my headphones (the 3.5mm) because of the way they were designed to have a skinnier cable (but still 3.5mm) fit (they are skull candy crushers) Anyway, I use reaper and FL studio (not both at the same time, just alternate) and I want to record, and I set up the pod with my computer and got everything installed and the tone editor, but you see when its connected via usb my computer playback and recording devices are switched too it meaning I can't hear a damned thing even through reaper, so I get no playback of what I record, and even after I disconnect everything i still don't get any playback. If I set the playback device to my headphones as default and leave the pod as defaut communications, I can hear everything from my computer just fine, but I still can't hear my guitar through the pod. I did think of routing it through an amp and then back to my computers input, but I have a horrid motherboard that doesn't handle impiedence very well. I know this because I use to record with Guitar Rig 5. Basically, I'm looking to see if there's something I'm doing wrong, or an alternative because I'm impatient and have to wait a few days before I can go out and get a 1/4 jack adapter Shouldn't you just connect it with usb and everything is fine? In Reaper, I set the sound drivers to Asio and selected the Pod's drivers so the input is proper it just seems the output of the sound still goes to the pod?
  16. I just got a Pod Studio UX2 and an AKG C214 large diaphragm condenser microphone. I went through the whole setup and got everything working, but when I tried recording some vocals the recording played back at a slightly higher pitch. Why is this happening and how can I make it stop?
  17. Hello everyone, A couple of days ago I decided to record a song in Reaper using my Pod XT as a sound card. I tried many tones from different VSTs such as Amplitube and I must say that some of them sounded better than what I had expected. Sadly, when I render/export my recordings and try to reproduce them in VLC or any other media player, I find that the guitars sound dull, without the warmth they had when I recorded and played them in Reaper. The result is the same even when I export the songs in the highest possible quality (WAV or FLAC format). I don't know if this is due to some kind of misconfiguration or if I should find a replacement for the Pod to achieve a higher recording quality, so any help regarding this matter will be highly appreciated.
  18. Hey! First of all, thanks for reading and thanks in advance for your help. I've been using a Stagescape m20d to monitor in studio rehearsals for a while now, and I've had no problems with it. Recently I decided to start recording said rehearsals into a USB flashdrive in order to review the music we're writing and make adjustments. I don't need to work on these recordings much, I just import them to cubase on my PC, where I can listen to them. Worked well for the first 3 days and then it started to produce slowed down recordings... how much they are slowed down varies, sometimes it's barely noticeable and sometimes the recording is well over 10bpm slower than recorded. Any idea why this may be happening? Thanks
  19. Just wondering if anyone's played with their Sonic Port VX in a "less mobile" application. I've had the VX for a while and have done some recording into Cubase; I love the mics for instruments, but for my uses I found they're too severe for vocals. I've since switched to another mic and a Scarlett 2i2 for vox, but I would like to use the VX for guitar, parallel with my vocal mic for 2 isolated tracks. Cubase will only accept either the VX or the Scarlett at one time, so I'd like to find a way to run the VX just as a plain instrument mic thru the scarlett. I've tried the 1/4" outputs both with a TS and a TRS into the scarlett with no luck...
  20. Hey guys, I just got the Helix for my project studio yesterday. I have the flooorboard model for now, as there was a mix up with my order. Next week I will be returning the floorboard model when the rack version gets here. I have been doing a ton of research on it, and I have several years experience with recording bands. I built my on pc for it, and I am pretty tech savvy. I purchased the Helix to upgrade from Podfarm plugin for guitar tracking. First, please allow me to explain my setup so you will understand better what I am asking. Because I do not have a properly treated room for live mic recording (mainly solid drum recording), I use electronic drums connected to my PC through midi to trigger VSTi plugins like Superior Drummer 2.0 and I do a lot of direct recording for guitars. For a while now, I would record guitars direct/dry and use Podfarm plug-in to generate the guitar tones. My main audio interface is a Focusrite 18i20, and I have 4 main JBL monitors connected to that for playback/monitoring. I also have a 6 channel headphone amp routed from the Focusrite interface for monitoring as well. I run Reaper as my recording DAW. I know the Helix is actually a recording interface as well when connected through USB, and I know it can be used to record guitar tracks through the USB port by switch to it in Reaper. I also know that if I switch to Helix as an interface, my guitar players will have to use the Helix headphone jack for monitoring during tracking, because the Helix will take over the Daw and NOT send the audio through my Focusrite which has the monitors and headphone amp connected to it. However, here is where I am not sure what I should do... Like I said, in the past I have used Podfarm plug-in after recording guitars direct/dry so we can change the guitar tones on the fly during the mix after the guitar tracks have been finished. I know there is the Helix Native plug-in coming out soon, and I am assuming I can use the same approach as I have in the past where I would be able to use it to change a tone on the fly after it has been tracked. But, until Helix Native comes out, or until I decide to buy it or not, I was wondering what I should do for tracking. Does the Helix have the option to send a processed tone to my daw as well as an unprocessed tone at the same time? And if so, how would we take the un-processed tone and send back to Helix to change the tone? Should we use the interface options in Helix to do this? Or should we send Helix to my Focusrite via XLR? I am sorry if I have confused anyone. Any help/feedback will be appreciated!
  21. Hi, I'll try and explain my problem but bear with me, I'm not sure of all the technical terms! My set up - PC, 64 bit, running Win 7 Home. Cubase Elements 6. I'm using two DAWs - a Guitar Port and a ZOOM R24. Both have the right drivers and function without issue. The problem is, I've tried to install POD FARM 2 to use their amp models. This worked fine on my original set up but a few months ago I installed a solid state hard drive, reinstalled everything, authorised Cubase and POD FARM, installed it into the VST Plugin library - and this is where it gets confusing. I started with the free models of pod farm - no problems. I reauthorise my PC to run the entire software package - I get all the models and tones back, but now when I activate pod farm as an insert, it comes up, the interface is there - but no audio signal runs through it. I've tried both DAWs, I've tried resetting and reimporting the files using Cubase's plug in manager, which says that the insert is there and active.. I'm out of ideas now. I should mention that the audio signals play fine, and I can use the native Cubase inserts without a problem, but the Line 6 stuff is far better. Does anyone have any ideas?
  22. I'm using the Multi-output to USB and I notice that my dry signal is always coming through on the right channel. Even when my volume pedal is at 0% and my XLR outs are quiet, the dry signal still comes in over USB. Has anyone else observed this on their Macs? I've tried both custom and factory patches, and they both have this issue.
  23. I'm having issues using my spider v 60w amp for recording. I had it working but there was a huge latency issue and when i went to fix it, it completely stopped working. I have windows 10 and was using the program ohm studio to upload and share music using Livewire cord from amp to computer. All drivers/software are up to date. If anyone has a fix for this or has any ideas to try it would be appreciated. Thanks
  24. I've never really recorded anything before, so please bear with my ignorance! I've just signed up for Artist Works online guitar lessons, one part of which is that you send videos of yourself playing and the instructor (in this case the amazing Paul Gilbert) views it and sends you suggestions. I'm using Helix as my soundcard. I can call up my Logitech video camera and if I play the video picks up my guitar through Helix just fine. However, if I'm also playing a backing track -- say, through Windows Media Player or Audacity -- I can hear it just fine through my computer speakers, but the video camera doesn't pick up that audio, so it sounds like I'm playing by myself. Is there an easy workaround for this? Any help appreciated -- thanks!
  25. Picked up an Alesis forge electronic drum kit and I am attempting to use the 2 line outputs (R / L) on the drum set module to connect to the two line inputs on the Toneport UX2 to record into Ableton LE 6 - I believe the issue I am having lies within the settings I am using in Gearbox - looking for some suggestions. When I connect the line outputs from the drum set to the line inputs on the UX2, I can hear everything I want to hear through my monitors and headphones (both directly connected to the UX2), when I have my input in gearbox set to "Line 1 & 2" - but I get no signal on my armed track in Ableton. When I change the gearbox input setting to a single line input (not sure if it's 1 or 2), I do get a signal in Ableton, but it's only on the right or left side - it's not stereo. I want to say that I have tried the "line stereo" input setting in gearbox as well - and I believe it works, but it gives me a completely mono signal which doesnt make sense to me. Wondering if there is step I am missing when trying to use the "line 1 and 2" input setting in gearbox that is stopping Ableton from picking up a signal. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!
