  1. Greetings folks, So, I'm kinda new with the Edit App and I have Simple Delay, and a Hall Reverb (both On). I want to dial in the Delay, going into the Reverb...that's it, and find my tone from there. My question: DO I click 'Pre' or 'Post' on the delay side...and how about on the Reverb side? ...and other suggestions (I want to dial the tone with a bluesy Type of guitar solo) for my 2nd single, a Rock Ballad. THANK you for all the help. Cheers!
  2. I’ve had both an hx stomp, and now a stomp xl, and my expression pedal is not working for swells. I plugged it into the expression 1/2 on the stomp, and then added a volume block to my patch. I tried putting my volume block at the beginning of my signal chain, after my amp, and at the very end. I also tried messing with the global settings. My issue is that it works for turning up and down my volume, but even though it’s before my reverb and delays, it shuts off the echoes and delays when I roll it back. I want the echoes and delay to continue decaying after I turn down my volume. Instead, it starts turning off my reverb and delay instantly as soon as I begin to roll back on my volume pedal. And this keeps happening regardless of where I put the volume block in my signal chain. I also turned up my decay time on my reverb block as far as it will go, and my volume block is still shutting off the decay. What do I need to do to get the volume block to work for swells?
  3. Hi peeps. Just recorded a video. Hope you find it useful.
  4. Hello everyone. I would like to suggest a new feature to the developers of Helix, but I don't know where to start. Any recommendations?
  5. I just bought the HX Effects and noticed that the delays and reverbs cut a lot from my dry signal past the 50% mark of the Mix control. Is there a way to get the Wet signal to be a bit louder without eating up my clean signal? Kind of what a Boss pedal or an analog pedal would do. Thank you!
  6. Hey y'all, I recently purchased some patches from WorshipTutorials.com for my Pod Go. I REALLY love their patches! However, I am having an issue. P&W patches are very ambient a wet. Often the delay and reverb is backed off on the rhythm parts but not turned off completely. For the lead tones the delays and reverbs are much more present. No shredding in P&W generally speaking. On to the issue... The snapshots are as follows: 1 = Clean ish Rhythm w/minor delays and reverb 2 = Gain Push 3 = Ambient Lead with Long Delay/Reverb 4 = Clean Ambient Swells When switching snapshots there is a very audible sound anomaly whenever there is a large change in the delay/reverbs. It's hard to explain what it sounds like. It's like an alien spaceship sound. The pitch also changes temporarily. It's not like this on every patch. It seems to happen only on the wet effects like delays and reverbs. The other weird thing is that on some patches the sound anomaly is still there but more faint. In other patches it is very noticeable. It's annoying when at church we finish a rockin' part of a song and we bring down the volume to transition to prayer and lush ambient swells. But then your congregation is chuckling trying to figure out what that weird alien sound was. Are there any of you having the same issue? I imagine you David Gilmore fans might encounter this issue as well? It seems that the more FX parameters that change at once from snapshot to snapshot the more likely the sound anomaly will be to show it's ugly face. @Line6 Tech Support, will there be an update to fix this issue? Thank you all for your input. My equipment: Pod Go + 112 PowerCab Epiphone Sheraton II Pro Fender Strat w/Fishman Fluence SSS
  7. Hello! Does anyone know if it is possible to assign the tap tempo switch to control the pre-delay on any of the reverb blocks in HX Effects? I have an EHX Cathedral that does this and it has become one of my go to delay/reverb sounds. I'm wondering if this is possible within HX. I thought about creating a custom block that includes both a reverb and a single repeat delay set to full wet before the verb, but i'd love to find a cleaner way to do it. Anybody have any thoughts?
  8. I cant get reverb spill over to work. If you are familiar with the Solid Gold FX Surf Rider pedal, you'll know that you can control the reverb depth via an expression pedal. This is awesome because you can make on the fly adjustments to the depth of the reverb. Also, the reverb that is generated, is not affected by subsequent expression pedal adjustments. It's just "spills over". Great for on the fly reverb stabs. Demonstrated here: https://youtu.be/wcOtj6weHHM?t=205 Is there any way to do this with the Helix? I've tried mapping Reverb Block Depth and Mix controls to my expression with Trails set to "on" but, no matter what I do, adjusting the expression pedal affects the Depth/Mix of previously generated reverb which deletes the spill over effect. I've also tried doing this with an outboard reverb through the effects loop thinking I could adjust the mix there but, same thing. Trails works fine when bypassing the verb but, I cant get spill over to work. Has anybody found a way to do this? Thankyou.
  9. I'm wondering if I can get some input from some of you as to how you approach recording your guitars in relation to the use of reverb straight from the Helix. I've typically followed the "rule" of recording everything dry and adding reverb later. I like to record multiple guitar parts and then I'll often pan them like I want (keeping them in mono) and then send them to a stereo effects bus that has a stereo reverb plugin from my DAW attached to it. Here's my issue, though ... I've never really found a reverb plugin that I like nearly as much as the simple "Room" reverb that comes with the Helix. In fact, I really don't like listening to those dry Helix tones without that reverb effect. It sounds so limp and lifeless without it. So what do you guys do? Do you ever record your guitar track WITH the reverb? If so, do you then leave your guitar track in stereo to preserve the stereo reverb effect? How does this affect panning, too? For example, if you have a guitar track with stereo reverb, and you pan it left or right, doesn't that effectively mangle your reverb? I'm also assuming that if you record too many guitars, each with its own reverb, it's going to muddy up the mix very quickly. I would appreciate any advice on this. I've seen videos from Jason Sadites where he seems to record WITH some minimal reverb baked in, then he seems to leave the track in stereo and pans left and right, then added another track with the same characteristics. Just not sure what the correct approach here is.
  10. My bassist was using an amplifi (150?) for band practice for weeks, suddenly as he was playing, no sound was coming out. well, sound was coming out in the form of reverb but nothing else. once the reverb was turned off there was no sound whatsoever. he was able to get sound to come out with bluetooth from his phone but nothing from his bass. any suggestions?
  11. Hi there, After long research i decided to open an own Thread. Im workin a lot with reverb and delays while using my Line 6 Spider IV on stage. Partly im using all 4 (A B C D) Channels through one single song. So my problem: If im switching the channel, delay and reverb get cut off directly. Is there any possibillity in any settings to get them normally faded out if you switch your channel? I know the line 6 helix got some of those features bec i saw it in videos. Ofc its a newer amplifier but maybe theres an option on the spider iv too and im just blind. THX 4 help :)) Greets
  12. Okay, another new Helix owner question: I have presets for different songs and, like I'm sure a lot of you are, I'm using this thing only at church. I want to have different presets for different songs, even though I generally use the same sound (amp, drive pedals, etc) simply so that I can have tempos in place for the delays as I can't be bending down to enter stuff in manually every song and don't want to go back to tapping (I'm coming from a TimeLine after all so I'm kinda spoiled). However, there is a VERY noticeable gap in sound between presets. It's quick, sure, but it's still there and blatantly obvious. Anybody have any ways around this? This could very well be a dealbreaker which would really be a shame as I am otherwise loving the heck out of this thing! Thanks, Robbie
  13. So I just got my Helix and I'm thoroughly loving it aside from one detail: the tuner is positioned at the very end of the chain and, thus, kills all sound coming from the unit, including and reverb and/or delay trails. I am aware that I can change the output so that it keeps the volume going, but that doesn't help because then I can't tune silently. I basically need a way to change where the tuner is in my signal path. Is there any way to do this or am I to be relegated back to using a Snark?? Thanks!
  14. So there's a weird behavior that I noticed when I'm working with a snapshot that's aimed at creating a lush, ambient, swell-type of sound. When I switch to or from that particular snapshot it works perfectly, UNLESS, I've changed the MIX settings on the effect. So if Snapshot A is my ambient swells snapshot and I have the mix cranked up on the Glitz reverb, if I switch between that and another snapshot (or if I switch back to Snapshot A) I get this weird "surge" in sound that has a very abrupt beginning and then the natural decay. Example: (silence) --> step on Snapshot A (ambient swells) --> expected behavior --> step on another snapshot --> expected behavior --> step on Snapshot A --> (don't touch my guitar) weird audio surge The way around this has been to have to use a dedicated block to a swell reverb and leave the mix static between all snapshots, which is frustrating b/c I tend to fill up my blocks with effects and need all the space I can get. Why can't I simply use a single reverb effect and have the mix change per snapshot without causing this unusable situation. Why "unusable" you ask? Because typically when I'm doing these types of ambient swells it's during a very quiet portion of the music and this surge/spillover sticks out like a sore thumb and sounds terrible. Imagine it's nearly silent on stage and the effect you're hoping for is a subtle volume swell...nope, you get this brash, full volume dump of the effect. Anyone got a good idea of how to avoid this?
  15. Hey guys, As guitarists, we often go through phases.. we often go back and listen to some music that we haven't listened to in a while.. I just started listening to Pantera again (for the 55th time) and I still get blown away by Dime's unmatched playing style. Some might argue that his tone wasn't great (I thought it suited their music just perfectly), however his use of FX is simply on point. I would love to know if anyone has come across or made up any delays/verbs/pitch etc that resemble his leads and solos? Not to be album or song specific, but some of the delays and verbs on songs like Mouth For War, A New Level, Walk, I'm Broken etc etc are the standouts to me. If anyone has any settings/links/patches they'd like to share or sell, feel free to hit me up. Cheers
  16. Hello all! I have been attempting to use my favorite pedal, Mr. Black Supermoon Chrome reverb in the effects loop of my Helix. However, no matter where I place it in the chain on the Helix, it creates a ton of muddy distortion in the chain. I have used it at anywhere from 100% mix to 40% mix, changed the boost of the effects loop from +0.0db to -10.0db and nothing seems to change. What can can I do to make it sound better with the Helix patches?
  17. Hi. I found some issues in my Line 6 Spider 240HC amp that probably have other discussions opened, but i decided to record them. https://youtu.be/67unAeUulCA In the first one, the display flashes when it's turned off. https://youtu.be/477VH-TT4W8 That sound happens when i turn off the amp. That happens sometimes using different IEC cables. https://youtu.be/Fy6RwlY-xHk This problem started when i changed my IEC cable too. Sorry for the sound quality, there is a clicking sound when i activate the reverb. I though the it could be caused by the cable, but they are universal and i guess that it could be produced by digital issues. I really like this amp but it's difficult to play a gig calmed with that kind of problems. Is anyone having these problems? Sorry for my english.
  18. Anyone found settings to emulate the Flint's beautiful infinite decay "80s" reverb? It seems that I can get close with the Cave reverb using a decay of 10.0 with high cut around 2k, but I would love to hear what others have tried.
  19. Hey guys I'm sure many of you have seen my video on getting great reverb sounds over on some other forums, but I totally forgot that this forum existed and figured I'd share it here as well with you all. I go in-depth on a setup I created that allows you to get some really nice complex sounding modulated reverbs that I feel are a step up from HX reverbs that were added recently. Let me know what you think, and if you want to check it out there's a patch link in the description box. The description also has time stamps to jump around in case you don't want to watch the whole thing front to end :) I just finished up another video on snapshots I'll post in a separate thread. Anyways, love my Helix and thought I'd share!
  20. I was making a few sets for next gig and using the amp modeling Fender Twin Reverb and Fender Deluxe Reverb I noticed i can't use any reverb or uni-vibe, why??? the amp settings doesn't have any reverb adjustment and if I add reverb they font work??? any other amp setting works fine except Twin and Deluxe...
  21. I just ran through the 5 new mono reverbs with a very basic high gain setup: Rectifire (Gain 7.5, Master 10.0, Channel 5.0) -> Mono Reverb -> XXL Cab Had reverbs set at 50% mix with decay set very high at 9 (which should be a pretty heavy amount of verb). There is almost no audible reverb even with the mix at 50% (the only exception being PlateauX where you can hear a bit of distant harmonics). This is the exact same problem I posted about the original reverbs, something isn't right with the way the Helix reverbs interact with high-gain setups. If I turn down the gain, the channel volume, and the master volume of the amp (which is obviously a much cleaner tone).... then I hear a lot more reverb with the exact same reverb settings. So it seems as though the high-gain amps are overpowering the reverbs and even the level setting (+6dB) can't make up for it. Help!!!
  22. Just a preset for you gents in this here Helix forum, since the update was delayed. Maybe you will feel as if you got a new reverb that you never knew you had...and a VERY good one to boot. Copy it and paste it at the end of one of your presets and call it reverb. :D If youve never created a verb before in this manner, you should find it pretty refreshing. https://www.dropbox.com/s/359mvfek0ii3xvr/reverb.hlx?dl=0
  23. I discovered that when I setting the reverb "Large Plate" (and only this one) mix to the MAX, (predelay : 0-30, decay : 0-30, tone : 100) I was getting an incredible sound for every style. Would anyone know what this is due to? It would help me reproduce that sound with a real amp or another software. I couldn't even get it with an HD500, only podfarm large plate with these setting work. Try it and tell me, because I can't play on anything else since.
  24. So I was just playing around with a very basic path, trying to see where the reverb sounds best (before cabinet, after cabinet, etc.). Using this basic path setup: Amp > Reverb > Cabinet [For the test, I was using the Hall reverb with 8.5 decay and 45% mix settings.] When I use the US Deluxe Nrm amp with low gain (4.0) and cranked channel/master volumes, it sounds great... nice rich reverb. You can distinctly hear the decaying sound after you stop playing. But when I change only the amp to the Line 6 2204 Mod (with gain at 8 and channel/master volumes at 10), there is almost no reverb sound at all (with the exact same reverb and cabinet settings). There is a very slight amount of reverb, but you definitely cannot hear the decaying sound like the cleaner amp. Something really strange is happening to the reverbs on high-gain amps that are cranked... it's almost as if the reverb disappears! This completely explains why I've had so much trouble trying to get my reverbs to sound normal (I'm a high-gain junkie). Please try this out!
  25. Suddenly one day, my Delays and Reverbs and any effect I place post FX Loop no longer work. The buttons respond, but the audio is not changed. If I move the effect block before the FX Loop, it makes some audible change but is quite lollipop. I am using the 4CM and it was working, and now isn't. Is there a setting I may have accidentally changed or has anyone else has this problem? Thanks, Greg.
