HI So Im currently running through a pod hd pro through my 5150 and using a line 6 shortboard MKII(not the express). I have no clue how to use the looper function. There is no block in the actual unit and no "looper" button on my pedal. I have read that you CAN still use the looper function with this pedal and that its a global function(thats why there's no block in the chain). I need some help asap. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I was wondering if I could use a friend's Pod Floor Plus simply as a footswitch controller on stage for my Pod HD Pro. The things is that I only want the Floor Pod to switch the presets of my HD Pro and to assign the effects to the buttons (as it can eb done in a shortboard MK II). How would it be connected? Thanks in advance to you! :) Xavi

is there not a way to connect my MKII Shortboard via USB and download new tones to use on my Spider III 150w amp head? ALSO, isn't there a way I can connect the MKII and "fine tune" my effects I currently have on there? for example: custom naming my banks/presets... etc etc. just getting started on this and any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, ace

Hello, I recently bought a FBV Shortboard MKII to go with my Spider IV 120. I've connected up to my laptop using the correct cables with the intention of updating the firmware and using Spider Online. However, I downloaded Monkey and tried to update the Flash Memory update for the amp. Every single time I try, I get the following message. "Spider IV 120 update failed. (Code 8000000A) An undefined error occurred. Try the update again making sure the cables are still connected." Now I can't use the amp at all, as it's stuck on a menu saying "Ready to Update." I also cannot seem to factory reset the amp at all. I really don't know what to do. PLEASE help anyone?! :(

Hey there, Before i bought a pod hd, i literally crawled through the web to see whether someone has experience in using the pod with a wireless and/or h&k switchblade combo and control everything with an mk2 shortboard. I didn’t find anything usefull so for anyone out there looking for this setup this is for you. First, my signal chain goes like this: >> XLR-Out >> Mic-In POD HD Pro Guitar >> Wireless Shure SLX14 >>FX Return H&K Switchblade Combo 50 (without -10db) >> Unbalanced Out >> LineL/Mono in POD HD Pro The Wireless is at -10db Mic-Input is at 100% (just to make the setup easier) Bass-Reduction is active -20db is active For the standard patches i use mainly only one pre-amp per patch. Several amps have very...i mean very low output (e.g. the VOX AC 30 TB) i try to figure out if this is my error or by design. Any tip is appreciated. The sound? it’s absolutely fantastic. Much more than i was hoping for. It was actually so good, that i put all my effect pedals aside and don't use a 4CM method. I didn't sell them yet, because the pod has to prove itself road-able. It’s in a SKB-Rack with short cables to the wireless, but it has to take some smashing and staking etc. so, we'll see. For high gains i use sometimes up to 2 noise gates (threshold lower than 40% to avoid weird sounds). The Switchblade is just set to the clean channel, with everything turned off, and the B/M/T/G are in middle position. Maybe you add a tick more presence, since this will give some more punch to the tone. And our technician showed me a glorious trick: If you would like to just add gain, but not volume, assign the drive to the exp. Pedal with your desired value in max. and min. then assign the output of the same distortion effect to the same exp. Pedal, but set the max.-value to e.g. 30% and the min. value to e.g. 100%. You need to twiddle a bit so you get the amount right. With that setup, you add gain and lower output and vice versa. Hope this helped. Cheers exile

I am trying to hook up my computer for the first time to board. Plug the USB cable in but the board doesn't recognize it. I am using a Macbook Pro running Mavericks. What am I doing wrong. Can't update Line 6 Monkey because no matter what update I run it asks me to run it again. Help. Not what I signed up for. And is there an editor for the Spider Mark II here somewhere?

Hi, I have been using an Shortboard mkii with Snow Leopard on my 2007 MacBook Pro to control Ableton Live for about a year. I have recently upgraded to a new MacBook Pro running Mavericks. To get the Shortboard to function properly, I have to plug it in to the USB AFTER the Mac has booted THEN run Monkey. If I don't do this, Live 9 sees the Shortboard but won't receive messages from it. Weird - never had to do that on my old setup. According to Monkey, I have the latest firmware and software. The Shortboard is being plugged directly into one of the Mac's USB ports - I am also using a USB keyboard controller and a USB Korg Nano Kontrol but these never caused problems with my Shortboard on my old setup. Any one else having this issue? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Many thanks, Steve

Got a shortboard for christmas. USB cable to computer and line 6 monkey says I don't need any updates. Plug it into line 6 jam amp with the cable supplied. I can calibrate it. Unplugged it, plugged it back in and nothing. None of the switches work. It shows its name in the display, nothing changes that. Could it be a faulty cable or the shortboard itself or is there something else I am supposed to do? I need some help.

Hi, first post. I looked around but didn't see this question anywhere. I've been using a Line 6 Spider 2 2x12 combo amp with an FBV shortboard. I just bought a Line 6 Spider 2 half stack, which has identical controls to the combo. If I were to use the shortboard with the half stack, would it still keep the settings that were stored from the combo and transfer those to the new amp? Thanks for any help you can give me! Skot

First, connect the FBV via USB to the computer and use the FBV Control software. In the File>Open menu, select the ‘Gearbox’ preset for the FBV. This will store on the FBV automatically. Close FBV Control. Then, start Gearbox with the FBV still connected to the computer. Go to the Edit>Preferences window, and in the ‘MIDI/Control’ tab, select USB Audio Device for MIDI Input. Hit Apply and then, OK. The FBV will now control certain parameters of the program including Wah/Volume sweep and toggling. If you would like to change the behavior of the switches, you should than exit Gearbox and go back to FBV Control once again to assign MIDI CC Toggle messages that correspond with what they want to control in the program. You can reference the chart for Gearbox MIDI CC messages starting on page 2.14 of the following Gearbox MIDI CC Reference Guide: http://line6.com/data/6/0a060b316ac34f0593546810e/application/pdf/MIDI%20Continuous%20Controller%20Reference%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20F%20).pdf

I have an FBV Shortboard that I purchased with my Flextone III Plus. It works fine; but as of a week ago, the LED display has been going out randomly. It will come back but I never know when. I'm thinking that I might have a loose connection somewhere. I take it everywhere and all the loading/unloading might have jostled something loose. Anyone experience this before?

Hi line 6 community, i'm searching for a good usb midi foot controller for Ableton Live and i would like to know if is possible to use the line 6 shortboard MK1 (not mk2). I want to control especially the loop function and effects on/off. Is it complicated to configure? I can't find the manual of that product, is there something online? Thanks
