  1. Hi can someone help me? I'm using the line 6 helix rack with the midi moose controller. I've managed to create the snapshots I want but I can't seem to assign them to the midi moose controller all it continues to do is change presets instead of snapshots which I don't like because of the delay between presets any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks! Mike
  2. This is probably another thing I'm just finding out that everybody else already knows, but it might address a concern I think I've seen on here before. On a Snapshot change, Helix only sends a MIDI CC message if the CC value in the new Snapshot is different from the current Snapshot. There may be instances in which you want an On (CC=0) or Off (CC=127) message to send regardless of whether the new value is different. I ran into this because I didn't want the natural behavior while I was editing the preset. When I changed a 0 to 127 and changed Snapshots to test it, I couldn't tell if I'd gotten it right, or if it just did't send a message at all. This is probably pretty obvious to most, but the solution I had was to realize that Off is actually 0-63 and On is 64-127 and Helix doesn't know you are using them as O/Off messages, just that 0 and 1 are different messages. So I used 0-7 for Off and 120-127 for On and the message was sent every time. Can anyone spot any downsides to this I'm not seeing? Any uses other than during editing Snapshots?
  3. I've inadvertently gotten stuck and can't figure out how to get back. When I hit the bank up and down buttons, it's scrolling through snapshots - the number in my snapshot camera icon advances or declines. I've not intentionally created any snapshots yet - How do I exit this mode and get the bank up and down buttons to scroll through the patch banks once again? Thank you
  4. Hi everyone, Only had my Helix LT for a couple of days, I'm coming from using an M13 into a Blackstar HT20, I've set up 4 snapshots, with different delay models and times. When I switch from one to another, the difference in delay time is really noticeable, even with trails off, its like playing a chord and turning the delay time knob quickly as its changing between snapshots. I'm still fumbling my way around, so I've probably not set up the snapshots correctly. Any help would be great.
  5. I think snapshots are fantastic for the seamless transitions of complex sound changes. However as a lead singer I find that thinking about let alone aiming for the correct switch to stomp on for the next section of a song is distracting. What I would like to be able to do is create a sequence of snapshots that I could step through during a performance by clicking on a single switch (probably FS7) to advance to the next snapshot in the sequence. Just in case there should also be a footswitch (say, FS1) that would step back one snapshot in the song sequence. Each item in the sequence should have its own assignable name/label so that we may think of the sequence like this: PRESET: Song 1 Intro ..... SNAPSHOT 1 Verse 1 ... SNAPSHOT 2 Chorus 1 .. SNAPSHOT 3 Verse 2 ... SNAPSHOT 2 Chorus 2 .. SNAPSHOT 3 Solo ...... SNAPSHOT 4 Brkdwn .... SNAPSHOT 5 Chorus 3 .. SNAPSHOT 3 Outro ..... SNAPSHOT 6 When in "sequence performance mode" the screen would show the name of the sequence (usually a song name) and the label of the current item in the sequence. If you wanna get fancy you can show the previous and next items in the sequence above and below the current, hightlighted, item. Also the other footswitches would work as usual as a sort of override (in the case of snapshot switches) and/or complement (in the case of stomps). I submitted this idea to ideascale here in case you want to vote for it: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/One-Button-Step-Through-Arbitrary-List-Of-Snapshots-Helix/894061-23508

    Helix question

So I'm new to Helix and am digging this unit but I just watched a you tube video on how to create snapshots. I've got the latest firmware and can see the camera icon on the top right helix screen. I've been able to go into global settings and get into snapshot mode but I noticed that once I had started setting up a preset, I wasn't seeing the snapshot camera icon on any of the foot switches. Why is this? What am I doing wrong? Thanks...
  7. Hello All, I just got my Helix today and I'm trying to customize it to exactly how I'd like to use it, but I've got a question that there may not currently be an answer to: Is it possible to copy a snapshot from one preset and paste it into a different preset? Here is why I would like to do this: I lead worship services that typically consist of somewhere around 4 songs. I'm planning on having a rig on a single preset in which each snapshot consists of the settings for each song. If possible, I'd like the ability to store and recall the various songs/snapshots for future instances of doing any one of those particular songs. I realize I wouldn't be able to change any of the blocks in the rig by doing it this way, but I'm okay with that. I feel like if (for example) Preset 01A and Preset 01B have everything the same the Snapshots from one to the other should be compatible. Of course, I realize nothing in software is as simple as it sounds, but is there anything like this, that is to say storing snapshots so they can be pasted into other presets, currently possible on the Helix or maybe something that could happen in the future? Thanks in advance for input!
  8. Hi Guys, I am battling to get Ableton Live 9 to change Snapshots on the Helix. I have my presets setup under Setlist 7 User 5 & want to change the different snapshots of a patch via Abelton. I setup the midi clip to change to the correct Setlist,Bank, presets & Velocity (0-7) to change in Ableton, but it keeps going to the Factory Setlist "18A Nothing Else Matters". I think I am over looking something, but can't figure it out. I am trying to achieve this is the session view.Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated!!! Regards Jason
  9. Just posted this on Ideascale. For all those who are needing more Snapshots on the Helix. Two Phase Snapshot Footswitches Mode Idea Actions My idea is to enable two Snapshots per footswitch and be able to A/B between them. Repeatedly stepping on a footswitch toggles between the two Snapshots assigned to that footswitch. This would effectively give you 16 total snapshots or 8 if you're in Preset/Snap mode. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Two-Phase-Snapshot-Footswitches-Mode/857489-23508

    A Zero Snapshot

I just put this in Ideascale. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/idea?templateId=0 My idea is that when a preset is recalled, no Snapshot is selected. The current settings of the preset will act as Snapshot Zero. Stepping on a footswitch selects the Snapshot assigned to that footswitch. Stepping on it again re-selects Snapshot Zero - the initial settings for that preset. Furthermore, stepping on the Preset footswitch should not recall the preset again as that would cause an interruption in the audio signal. Instead, it would simply act as another Snapshot selector - until another preset is selected. This idea would expand things for users who use "Snap/Preset" setup. It would give us effectively 5 Snapshots instead of 4. Whaddayathink? Cheers, H
  11. I am pretty sure it worked with 2.0... I ran the update again to test it and it still does the same thing. I wanted to use the meteor amp like this: snapshot 1 standard settings, snapshot 2 change the mid to 7 and the treble to 7, snapshot 3 same as 2 but turn on the mid boost... but no matter if I save it or not the settings stay the same in all snapshots (what ever I change them to they stay there and don't change when I switch back to the other snapshots). It will turn on and off blocks but not change parameters...  :( Help!!! I am sure it can be done after watching a couple of videos, also the one line 6 did the guy says you can change Variax models per snapshot and says to hold encoder until you see brackets but he dosen't do it in the video where you can see it...
