  1. i hope someone could give some idea of what's the best setup for a POD HD500 using amp modelling live...... i've read about Tech 21 Power Engine, and generic speakers/monitors but still i've been reading pros and cons about it.... any thoughts from users that have a live setup? thanks
  2. Hi there, are you tired about discussing different speakermodels for the Flextone III amps ? So let me tell you how to get a much more brillant and crisp sound from your Flextone3 in three easy steps without a speaker change. After unplugging the mains cord and disconnecting the speaker cables remove the Amp Chassis with the 4 large screws on top and the 4 small screws for the handle. 1) For those who won´t solder on SMD devices but are aware of tubeamp modifications : Solder 2 pcs of 4,7nF film cap across the In- and the Output pins ( bottomview right and middle) on both of the stacked stereo Mastervolume Pot (B 10k) , like the "bypass" caps for higher frequencies on Volume Pots in guitars or in valve amps. Seen from above on the back : these are the right and the middle pins of the double pot ! So you will have much more over all brillance and treble also at lower power settings without changing the speaker. Check first with a Clean amp modell like the DOUBLE VERB with its 2x12 emulation. If you ever have tried such an analog beast you will find it now -with the same attitude - here in the Flextone3. And all at neutral 12 o´clock settings on the EQ pots. After that try chrunch and High Gain emulations. 2) For those who will try additional mods : Remove the very very small capacitor signed as "C4" from the board with a small solder pen ! If you are not aware in soldering on SMD devices please take care and better take the board to the next electronic technician or to a radio shop with educated personell. Its all at your own risc !!! These small capacitor( 47pf ) works together with the L1 ( SMD inductance) as a trap for high frequency EMC trouble. Under normal circumstances you will not need it. And - unfortunatly - the 47pf cuts all the highest frequencies from your guitar signal like a bad guitar cable ! by the way....you´ll never see such a capacitor e.g. in a high class tube guitar amps in the first stage. So, if there are no high frequencies from the strings .......the amplifier cannot amplify such details. And the sound will not be so bright, not so clear or crisp .....or what ever words you will use. But, if you like an open Tubeamp sound remove the C4 and you will be very happy with the improved sound. These mods should also work in HD147 ´s , because they use the same technology inside as the Flextone III. A few words to the Line6 developers : I know the reasons well for building in the C4/L1 into the amps. Its because the CE and US trade specifications ! But for a musician it sounds much better without these absorption circuits. ;-) Thanks for this great Amp !!!!!! cheers Peter from Germany

Sound problem with POD X3 Live

Hi all! My POD X3 Live was working perfectly, but one day a week ago the sound changed. The only thing I can hear is the reverb of the presets, the main sound is like "off". So, I can hear the distortion, wha-wha... trough the reverb, but not the original sound of the preset. I can't work with the sound like this. ¿Do you know what could be happening? ¿What can I do? P.S: I have tested lots of presets, and they all have the same problem. Also I have updated and reinstalled firmware, drivers...

Sound Suddenly Stops Working In Win7

Contacted the support about 2 years ago regarding my secondhand Pod XT. I would be doing whatever on the computer, playing guitar, games, videos etc and suddenly the sound would disappear. Trying to change to another soundcard didn't work or anything regarding sound for that matter because somehow the sound was 'locked' or I presume, stuck in a loop... The support told me it was a hardware problem, since we'd tried everything else, and suggested I sent it to repair. I didn't though, I just kept going, only had to restart the computer when it happened so I didn't feel like spending money on something I'd pay 50 euro for. But now I have bought a new HD 500X and it is fine and all, BUT suddenly the sound disappeared... Hardware malfunction? Hardly. I've been checking some old forum post and I'm not the only one with this problem. So my suggestion to Line6 is that you gather as much information you can on this problem and fix it. I would start by checking your codes for handling the USB...
  5. Please help me, I use POD studio UX1 for recording my guitar without using plugin POD Farm, BUT the sound output of my guitar is really bad, like a sound recording without using an audio interface. Any solution?? Tks before..

    Hd500 L6 Link No Sound

Hi I have a POD HD500 running in to a Line 6 DT25 head. The HD500 is connected to the DT25 via the L6 link. The unit has worked perfectly fine for a few months until recently. During a gig the sound just cut out completely. After swapping different cables (XLR, guitar etc) the sound came back. When back home I tried to replicate the fault but everything worked fine once again. A few weeks later the same thing happened again and then the display on pedal went blank, lit up but no information displayed.I un-plugged the pedal and went direct in to the amp, it worked fine. The following night I had another gig, plugged my pedal in as normal and it worked fine! I've just come to plug my pedal in again but first did a factory reset and flashed the firmware (successfully). Now I'm getting no sound or control from my pedal to the amp. If I plug headphones in it's fine, if I go direct into the amp without the pedal it's fine. I know straight away someone is going to say use a DMX XLR rather than standard but I honestly can't see this being the problem as the unit has worked fine with this XLR for months until now, I have also tried various other high quality XLR cables and none work. DMX cables are hard to get hold of here without ordering on-line. I can't use the warranty as I purchased the unit second hand and don't have proof of purchase. Can anyone recommend a solution or at least how to open the unit up to see if there is a loose connection on the XLR output? PLEASE HELP, I have a gig tomorrow!!! Ian
  7. Right , so I got the Line 6 Po Studio GX and tried to install the thing . It was all good until I reached the point when it asked if I allow the program to use the speakers/microphone . When I pressed 'allow' The installation froze . I also tried 'don't allow' to see if it makes a differance , but nope the same thing happened again.... A reply would be very much appriciated.
  8. Hi Guys, I have been using my UX2 to do all my recordings for different things. Unfortunatly I have recently updated to Mavricks 10.9.5 and just recently upgraded my Line Monkey, Drivers and Podfarm to the latest versions. Using my UX2 through Cubase 6.5 now inputs/ picks up the device and allows me to record, then when I try and play it back I cannot here anything. If anyone else using Cubase has had this problem let me know how you fixed it. I checked the entire installation method and all the manuals for my device and it is all seemingly correct apart from one section. In: Cubase >Devices>VST Connections > Outputs I can only select Not Connected or my UX2 and not my internal speakers. Any help or ideas would be extremely helpful, I am also checking out Cubase troubleshooting see what I can find. Thanks!
  9. Hi everyone and thanks for taking a look at my problem, I recently acquired a Toneport UX1. I installed the latest drivers from the website. However, when listening and recording the raw sound from my guitar, no effects added, I get no sustain what so ever, it is almost like the UX1 has a built in noise gate... I have tried the UX1 in two computers, using windows 7 and windows 8.1. I get the same result. As you can hear in this recording, when I play a chord and let it ring, the sound dies within a couple of seconds. I do not stop the chord ringing, the sound just stops by itself. Also at the end of the recording I play a single note quickly, varying the strength of the pick with the strings. When I play the note soflty, it does not make any sound whatsoever. (Also note the ugly noise made when I play the chords. Maybe I'm just playing too hard?) Did I get a broken UX1? Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. 10. Hey Guys First my gear : Line6 POD xt Pro, Laney Ironheart Irt 60 I want to connect my Podxt with my Amp. So how do i do that ? The POD should be used as a effect processor in Distortion Channel of the Amp But as a clean sound i want to use my POD settings and only use the amp as an poweramp for the xt. So anyone out there who knows what i have to do ?
  11. Hello, I've recently bought a Flextone III XL and I'm pretty disapointed. I have the same problem detailed in this old post (I don't know why Line 6 locked all topics) http://line6.com/support/message/476712 In my case, volume changes coicide when the light of the channel turns off (both in the floorboard and in the amp). Can it be caused by a digital issue? I know lots of people had the same problem with this amp. Does anybody knows how to fix it? Technical support is very very far away from my home. I can't belive Line 6 don't tell me anything but "take it to the technical support". For what I've seen this is a typical issue of this amp. I would apreciate any help you could give me.
  12. Hi There.. Can someone help me? I have a HD 500, and found a video on youtube. kelly simonz did a cover of "the loner" by gary moore. The patch/tone is downloadable from his website, but i cant get it into my EDIT list. Is it so that i have to purchase more line 6 products to get this sound? Pod Hd500x Decreasing Bass?

Is there a way to decrease the bass levels? I get way too much bass When I play/record the guitar with the output connected to my PC. I have the bass knob turned all the way down in the pedal AND my guitar. And i still get a little too much of bass.. Any help here? I have an ESP LTD AX-260.
  14. I've been trying for 2 weeks now, since I bought my Pod Studio UX1, and I didn't manage to get any good metal sounds. I tried with reaper, cubase, but still my recordings are just worthless. Compared to others, like this guy ( ), their recordings are awsome.. Even trying other's presets didn't work for me!(I have an LTD H-1001 with active EMG's if that helps)

    Pod Hd 500

Hello, I am fairly new to this system and set-up with computers but i dont understand why the sound is changes. I create the sound then save it to my pod, but then sounds different. For example :- load Casbah to set list 3B then tweak it a bit and add pitch shift to down it 2 steps all on my computer and sound awesome. Then transfer it to my POD HD step on the switch and loose the clarity, sound slightly distorted so loose the clean tone. Even the other sound i transfer don't sound the same. I am obviously missing something so any advice will greatly appreciated. Thanks SJ
  16. I got a Line 6 gx recently. everything seems to be hooked up correctly. The software is installed and registered. All drivers are installed. The gx is registered. Monkey shows green ticks. I have the Line 6 selected in my Windows sound system. I can hook up my headphones to the Line 6 box, and run a windows sound test, and get sound. I can connect the guitar, and start pod farm 2. When I hit the strings, I can see plenty of output on the meters. I can use the tuner in pod farm and tune the guitar. But I get absolutely no sound from the guitar. Not in the headphones, not frim the laptop speakers. Is there any additional software that need to be installed? It is a Lenovo thinkpad laptop, running windows 7 Any suggestions?
  17. In the morning i just turned on the POD to play with my guitar for a bit and there was no heavy sound.I usually use my own and saved presets and it wasnt distorted.Sounded more like low volume overdrive.Really lollipopy sound.First i thought i was my guitar's active pickup battery. It wasnt.I changed cables i flashed the pod's memory and put it back on and nothing happend. Is there any explanation about what happened with it or what might cause the problem? Thank you in advance!
  18. Has anyone had success in connecting the Sonic Port to studio monitors for sound output? I can hear fine through headphones. I have KRK Rokit 5's. They have a volume knob on the back and if I crank it I still barely hear anything. The product description implies this should be possible: "You can even connect powered studio monitors via the 1/4†mono/stereo guitar/line-level output." Has anyone had success trying this and how?
  19. Any suggestions on how I can get a BIG sound with my POD HD desktop 2 amps? Mixer settings? Chorus effects? etc.... Thanks!
  20. This seems like a simple problem, but I haven't found any sufficient answers through my two hours of scouring the internet! Needless to say, it's driving me a little crazy. It was working just fine less than 24 hours ago! There is no sound whatsoever coming out of my speakers or headphones (each plugged in to the appropriate ports). Monkey is all updated; green checks everywhere. Output knob and phones knob are at maximum. Input/Output in Mac preferences is set for UX2. I've tried switching out usb cables and trying different ports. Tested headphones and speakers on other devices, they work. The only thing that changed was that I pulled out the usb cable and put it into a usb hub for a moment, then took it out and put it right back into the mac directly (I forgot, no hub with the UX2). Right after that, it stopped working correctly. Also, when I try to use logic pro X and gearbox, it doesn't register any sound coming from the mic, and when I try to play back something I recorded just a few days ago using the exact same settings, I get this message: Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI Sample Rate 23482 recognized. Check conflict between Logic Pro X and external device. I use a mac with OSX 10.9.1, fully updated. The UX2 has power, the meters are at min and don't move, and the clip lights seem to be stuck on to orange.
  21. I got POD Farm a while ago with my UX2, but it has always had a bad sound. It sounds like it's being played through one of those little 9V-battery-powered amps, rather than a professional, high quality amp, even when the volume is turned up. No matter how much I turn up the gain (I've even boosted my treble to the max and cut the low-mids out), it still sounds like it's muffled, and it sounds really bad. Even when I plug the cable into it and it makes the buzzing sound that usually happens, even that sounds muffled. It sounds like I'm plugging it into a $15 interface rather than a professional guitar amplifier. NOTICE: I play different songs on YouTube that have the same settings as I use, and the songs I listen to there have a high-quality tone. So I'm almost certain it's not the speakers. HERE IS MY EQUIPMENT: -MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.8.5) PROCESSOR: 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MEMORY:3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM -Creative Inspire T3300 Speakers (They have a 1/8" input jack that I connect to the "headphones" input on the UX2 using an adapter) -High-quality guitar cable -Agile Interceptor Pro 930 with 30" scale and active pickups -This guitar is HIGH-QUALITY and has a very bright tone, and it should have one on POD Farm, but it doesn't. Is there a reason for the tone sounding really bad? Are there settings on my computer or something that I can change? OR could I upgrade my sound card?
  22. Hey guys. So I've been having some serious problems with my UX1 and Pod Farm. When I play into headphones, no problem. When I plug into an amp (UX1 Phones out>>Amp return input) or a DI running into a board and then a loudspeaker, my sound will cut in half and make this fluttery warbly sound. I have a friend that does the same thing but has no problem. Any ideas? My Pod Farm and Macbook Pro are both updated to the newest operating system and everything. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!
  23. Hi everyone, I'm trying to get my UX1 to work on my Windows 8 64-bit machine, but to no avail. So far I've tried four different USB 3.0 ports (I have no 2.0 ports on this PC) and reinstalled the drivers over and over. So far, the only kind of sound I can get out of it is what appears to be a very grainy and slowed down version of the audio. When I watch a video on Youtube, the seconds on the video will go by two or three times as slowly as they should. I'm not sure what the issue is, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
  24. Hello. I have a JTV89 with POD500. I have problems with the guitar when I want to use the battery. Without the battery everything works fine. With the battery I have no sound. The charge indicator indicates a full charge. I connect the guitar with different cables but nothing changes. As soon as I remove the battery, I found the sound. I tested the battery on another machine and it works. I do not know what to do ... Thank you for your help! Chris (sorry for my bad english)
  25. I wanted to get the IV 120 watt model, but i hear with the bigger amps, there is an audio delay changing patches, which would make sound quality live, bad. How many experiences have you heard or experienced with this? If I was playing with a band, wouldn't this delay be drowned out by the band, and secondary guitarist, if the patch is changed and timed right, not at the last possible millsecond?
