  1. I've recently got problems with a clicking noise when I use my POD HD500X. At first I suspected my guitar, so I made sure everything was tightened properly. It didn't help, and I also noticed that I get this noise from all of my other instruments. It doesn't matter if I use the mono outputs, headphones or use the POD as audio interface. I've tried to reinstall all software with Line6 Monkey, and the problems remain. Here's a video describing my problems: I'd appreciate all kinds of suggestions for solving this :)
  2. My Spider IV-150 has developed an issue where about 10 seconds into a switched preset, the volume of the preset drops about 25%. This happens with all presets. Initially when this issue began, overdrive presets 10 seconds after selection, would switch to a line-level, clean tone... almost as if no preset were selected at all. After taking it to a tech that used to work for Line 6, he couldn't make it happen in shop (no surprise there). But he suggested doing a firmware update through Line 6 Monkey. I did that and now the presets don't switch to that weird, clean tone. The presets keep the sound but drop in volume about 25% after 10 seconds. I just tried doing another firmware update but Monkey says the amp and MK-III pedal are up to date. Is anyone experiencing this issue? And if so, how did you remedy the problem? Can anyone recommend a good tech that really can trouble shoot and work on Line 6 gear in the LA, Orange County, San Diego County areas? Thanks
  3. I usually run my guitar through numerous tones I have created myself using Pod Farm (most are distorted), about a week ago I ran the program and the tone I would usually use and it sounded clean rather than distorted. I tried other tones to see if the issue would happen, and it did! I've tried plugging and unplugging it back in, different guitars and cables etc etc. But the issue still happens! It seems to be an uncommon issue because I've been searching for answers but none have come up! Anyone else hear about this problem?
  4. Hi, I've encountered an audio output problem with my POD X3 Bean - it is connected to my PC via USB with all the latest drivers and utilities installed and updated. The thing is, that Pod Farm gets my guitar signal and indicates that there should be output sounds coming through, but I can't hear a thing. Is there a way to redirect the output to my system's default output (speakers)? I don't have enough cables to make a L/R setup from the POD to my PC, so the USB is my best chance. I didn't hear any of the POD's output sounds when I was messing with ASIO, either - same thing with the Control Panel -> Sounds, although I could hear the signal only when I checked the "Listen to this device" box, with enormous latency. So it's definitely getting and giving a signal, though I have no idea how to get the output playing through my speakers. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  5. Hello guys, I just bought the POD HD Pro X and I have a problem. The patches I downloaded from youtube people (Ola Englund, Fluff) and the patches I bought from a guy that sound awesome in their demos sound very harsh, thin and have no punch at all on my device. (They all used the HD Pro, does that matter? but USB aswell and no post processing) I use a Schecter Hellraise C-1 with active EMGs (and have the PAD button pressed), USB connection, headphones (monitors already ordered) and a PC with WIndows 10 and all Line 6 drivers installed. My settings look like this: 1/12 Utilities (Flash FW: V2.62, USB FW V1.04) 1 FS Mode: ABCD 2 AMP Knobs Display: Momentary ON 3 Looper FS Display: All Views 4 Trails: ON 2/12 Utilities 1 LCD Contrast: 45 2 Tap Temp LED: off 3 AC Frequency: 60 Hz 4 FBV Express: off 3/12 Inputs 1 Input 1 source: Guitar 2 Input 2 source: Variay 3 Guitar in-z: 1M 4 Inputs Setup: Preset 4/12 Outputs 1 Mode: Studio/Direct 5/12 Digital Output 1 Digital Output: Match Outputs 2 Sample Rate: 44,1 kHz 3 Digital Level 0 dB 4 Digital Format: S/PDIF 6/12 Midi/Tempo 1 Midi Channel: 1 2 Midi out/thru: out 3 Tempo Sync: Preset 4 Tempo: 120 BPM 7/12 Variax 1 Variax Control: Preset 8/12 Variax 1 Variax Tuning: N/A 9/12 L6 Link: Audio 1 AMP: left/right 2 AMP left/right 3 AMP left 4 AMP right 10/12 L6 Link: Control 1 AMP 1: AMP A (CH 1) 2 AMP 2: AMP B (CH 2) 3 AMP 3: Midi CH 3 4 AMP 4: Midi CH 3 11/12 Global EQ: on 1 Band Select: Low Cut 2 Frequency: 20 HZ 12/12 Model Packs Standard Model Set please help me :( greetings Paul
  6. Hi guys, I have a TonePort Ux1 and for too much time I got a problem. So, I aways record my guitar in a RAW perfectly when I use a amp (plugged in Phones line) to execute the sound. But when I plug my Headphone (I tested several head phones and adapters and always with the same problem) it sounds distorted and often it works in just one side of the phones I tested. I tried everything and didn't get any solution. The Ux1 really don't work with adapters converters? I want too much play and mix hearning the sound on headphones but I cant. Any solution?
  7. Ok, it's pretty specific, but I'll give it a go. Maybe someone on here that's a lot smarter than I (which is all of you) can explain to me exactly what's going on here... cuz I'd love to know. https://youtu.be/yzvozz2C9qo?t=4m29s At 4:33, on the right channel, there's a growl / grind sound that is just fricken amazing to me. What's going on there? Is that the amp cranked up and a speaker ready to blow? I can't tell. Nor can I tell the amp or guitar combo, because Pearl Jam layers their guitars so well. I'd love to be able to get something similar with the Helix. I'm guessing it's through a Les Paul (which I do have). Any help would be appreciated!
  8. Hey guys, i have a really annoying problem with my AMP. It worked pretty well til the last days but now it starts having some problems. If i play any note and hold it, it doesn´t ring out as it should but it fades away as if i would use my volume knob extremely fast. I already did a factory preset on my AMP but it does not affect this weird sound. I am pretty sure that is is the Amp because i tried out two cables and two different guitars. Would be nice if you could help me :) thanks a lot
  9. Hi! When I play on the amplifier, it sounds good. When I have headphones (studio headphones 668B) it have a lot of fuzz. It's the same when I record in Reaper, or other DAW. On YT people are recording by USB and it sounds naturally, and good... And for me it farts a lot. Unnatural and scary.
  10. Hi, I've been trying to use the four cable method with the pod xt and a 100watt head and cabinet Marshall, but i don't know what happens....... the sound comes and goes. I've checked the wires and the settings and everything seems to be OK. If i use another method I've got no problems with the sound. Anyone here knows what's the problem? Thanks in advance.
  11. My POD HD500x doesn't sound harmoniusly rich when i do the following: Phones Output -> Stereo System by using a 1/4"-RCA stereo cable Sounds like bypass. I'm using the Studio/Direct output, although I've tried the other outputs (Combo Pwr Stack, etc.) and changes a little but stills the same. MASTER VOLUME is at half-step. (When I put it 100% it doesn't change either) I go for distortioned presets and it stills sounds so bad When I start from the 1/4" R/L Mono output it stills the same. Cables are fine. I have the last usb firmware, just in case. Any thoughs? Thanks for reading
  12. Hey guys, I play the Spider IV 75 for a while now and I am still looking for some good allday sounds. I want to set up a bank with A:Clean, B: Crunch, C:Drive, D:Metal/Lead for most purposes. I tried to make some presets, but especially a good Crunch and Drive sound is hard to find. I'm almost satified with my clean and metal sound now, but I don't like the other 2. :-/ Mostly played with an Ibanez RG H-S-H and Jackson Warrior H-H. ;-) It's hard to find something on Customtone, because I don't really now, what I should type in the search field. :-D Do you have some suggestions for good sound settings or links to good presets? Thanks!
  13. Hey! I've been using my POD for quite a while now but i'd like to share one of my presets with you guys. Many of my subscribers ask me what settings/gear i use, and when i tell them; they're often surprised when they hear line 6. The majority of people think line 6 amps or models aren't able to produce a rich - realistic tone, but when recorded with optimal setting etc.. the result is epically awesome! I'll attach a link of a certain video where i used a backing track, so all the guitarwork you hear (except bass) is all produced by the POD UX1, same goes for my setting in Podfarm. Thanks to Line 6 for creating this awesome product for people who want to express their creativity and enjoy their hobby but live in an appartement with lousy neighbours! - Ben Video:
  14. How do I get my sound to come out of my computer speakers? I have my POD HD500 plugged in to my computer through USB and through one of the outputs (one end is an instrument cable for the pod, and the other end is a headphone/aux cable for the computer). I've tried messing with the sound settings on my computer, but I don't hear anything when I play. I've seen this done before, so I know it's possible. I don't even think I need a USB for it, but I've tried it without one as well. Please help.
  15. I just connected my new HD500X to my two studio monitors via XLR. I am getting no sound to the speakers. I can't find my headphone adapter so I can't test if audio is going out at all. Just to confirm, I don't need any device between my 500X and my speakers right? XLR cables go directly from pedal to speaker? Is there a setting on the 500X where I have to specify XLR instead of 1/4 line? I just went through the setup guide and found nothing. I just tested, 1/4 gives sound. XLR does not. Thanks for any help
  16. Hi everyone! I'm a big fan of the band Zle Psy. I love their sound and characteristic for them is... Rubble on the overdrive. It has a terrible kick. They are playing on Laboga Mr. Hector. I turn to you for help. You will help, maybe someone would do such a sound? I want to sound as close as possible. This ... Rubble. Here you have a sample.
  17. Hey guys, I don't know if this subject has been discussed before, but I just wanted to know how many of you have tried recording both with the Pod and with an external sound card. Is there any big difference in the audio quality? Does it worth the money if I invest 170 euros for a decent sound card such as the scarlett 2i4? Thanks in advance.
  18. i hope someone could give some idea of what's the best setup for a POD HD500 using amp modelling live...... i've read about Tech 21 Power Engine, and generic speakers/monitors but still i've been reading pros and cons about it.... any thoughts from users that have a live setup? thanks
  19. Hi all! My POD X3 Live was working perfectly, but one day a week ago the sound changed. The only thing I can hear is the reverb of the presets, the main sound is like "off". So, I can hear the distortion, wha-wha... trough the reverb, but not the original sound of the preset. I can't work with the sound like this. ¿Do you know what could be happening? ¿What can I do? P.S: I have tested lots of presets, and they all have the same problem. Also I have updated and reinstalled firmware, drivers...
  20. Contacted the support about 2 years ago regarding my secondhand Pod XT. I would be doing whatever on the computer, playing guitar, games, videos etc and suddenly the sound would disappear. Trying to change to another soundcard didn't work or anything regarding sound for that matter because somehow the sound was 'locked' or I presume, stuck in a loop... The support told me it was a hardware problem, since we'd tried everything else, and suggested I sent it to repair. I didn't though, I just kept going, only had to restart the computer when it happened so I didn't feel like spending money on something I'd pay 50 euro for. But now I have bought a new HD 500X and it is fine and all, BUT suddenly the sound disappeared... Hardware malfunction? Hardly. I've been checking some old forum post and I'm not the only one with this problem. So my suggestion to Line6 is that you gather as much information you can on this problem and fix it. I would start by checking your codes for handling the USB...
  21. Please help me, I use POD studio UX1 for recording my guitar without using plugin POD Farm, BUT the sound output of my guitar is really bad, like a sound recording without using an audio interface. Any solution?? Tks before..
  22. Hi I have a POD HD500 running in to a Line 6 DT25 head. The HD500 is connected to the DT25 via the L6 link. The unit has worked perfectly fine for a few months until recently. During a gig the sound just cut out completely. After swapping different cables (XLR, guitar etc) the sound came back. When back home I tried to replicate the fault but everything worked fine once again. A few weeks later the same thing happened again and then the display on pedal went blank, lit up but no information displayed.I un-plugged the pedal and went direct in to the amp, it worked fine. The following night I had another gig, plugged my pedal in as normal and it worked fine! I've just come to plug my pedal in again but first did a factory reset and flashed the firmware (successfully). Now I'm getting no sound or control from my pedal to the amp. If I plug headphones in it's fine, if I go direct into the amp without the pedal it's fine. I know straight away someone is going to say use a DMX XLR rather than standard but I honestly can't see this being the problem as the unit has worked fine with this XLR for months until now, I have also tried various other high quality XLR cables and none work. DMX cables are hard to get hold of here without ordering on-line. I can't use the warranty as I purchased the unit second hand and don't have proof of purchase. Can anyone recommend a solution or at least how to open the unit up to see if there is a loose connection on the XLR output? PLEASE HELP, I have a gig tomorrow!!! Ian
  23. Right , so I got the Line 6 Po Studio GX and tried to install the thing . It was all good until I reached the point when it asked if I allow the program to use the speakers/microphone . When I pressed 'allow' The installation froze . I also tried 'don't allow' to see if it makes a differance , but nope the same thing happened again.... A reply would be very much appriciated.
  24. Hi Guys, I have been using my UX2 to do all my recordings for different things. Unfortunatly I have recently updated to Mavricks 10.9.5 and just recently upgraded my Line Monkey, Drivers and Podfarm to the latest versions. Using my UX2 through Cubase 6.5 now inputs/ picks up the device and allows me to record, then when I try and play it back I cannot here anything. If anyone else using Cubase has had this problem let me know how you fixed it. I checked the entire installation method and all the manuals for my device and it is all seemingly correct apart from one section. In: Cubase >Devices>VST Connections > Outputs I can only select Not Connected or my UX2 and not my internal speakers. Any help or ideas would be extremely helpful, I am also checking out Cubase troubleshooting see what I can find. Thanks!
  25. Hi everyone and thanks for taking a look at my problem, I recently acquired a Toneport UX1. I installed the latest drivers from the website. However, when listening and recording the raw sound from my guitar, no effects added, I get no sustain what so ever, it is almost like the UX1 has a built in noise gate... I have tried the UX1 in two computers, using windows 7 and windows 8.1. I get the same result. As you can hear in this recording, when I play a chord and let it ring, the sound dies within a couple of seconds. I do not stop the chord ringing, the sound just stops by itself. Also at the end of the recording I play a single note quickly, varying the strength of the pick with the strings. When I play the note soflty, it does not make any sound whatsoever. (Also note the ugly noise made when I play the chords. Maybe I'm just playing too hard?) Did I get a broken UX1? Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
