  1. I got my spider v 20 today and used it for about an hour, Then I plugged some headphones in and played for a while longer and shut it off. I unplugged everything before turning it off and when I tried to play it again the speaker was muted. It does work with my headphones in and all the presets still work. I turned it off and on again tried to reset it, I’m not sure if I actually did reset it, I unplugged and replugged everything twisted the knobs around. I don’t have the iOS camera adapter to use the spider v remote so if I am supposed to fix it through that I don’t really know how.
  2. I got my Spider V MKII back in August of 2021, and one of the reasons I got it was because of the Spider V Remote app, so I could get a lot of tones and effects. The app worked the first day I had the amp, but the next day when I plugged my amp into my Windows 10 computer, it said "No Device Connection." And now it has been like that for four months. I have done everything that I could possibly do: update drivers, try it on different computers, etc. I have also tried my IOS device, and my Mac laptop. Neither worked either. The only thing that I haven't done is update my amp, which I can't do because the Line 6 Updater app doesn't notice that my app is connected. I have submitted a ticket, but am not confident that it will make any difference, since I have seen that others have submitted tickets in regards to this problem, and nothing has changed. It seems that the last update for Spider V Remote was in 2019, which is a long time for fixes. It honestly seems to me that Line 6 doesn't really care, or else they would have done something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cubase 11

I just bought spider v 30 mkii and i installed Cubase LE AI 11 but i can't set it up to work. I want to record with it. Here is how the program looks like.
  4. The Vetta II technology has been time-tested and is still well respected today. Sure, the Helix has been our flagship technology for the last five years, but I'm curious to hear if Line 6 plans to keep building products based on the Vetta II technology. Amongst other products, the PodXT, the Amplify and the Spider V all share the same Vetta II algorithms. But there's features unique to a PODX3 that cannot be replicated in a Spider V and viceversa. Would a stereo version of the Spider Jam --perhaps featuring dual signals-- sell well these days? I really think it would --at the right price! Thoughts?
  5. Does anyone have a suggested setting for the lead guitar in That Thing You Do by The Wonders (The Oneders! )
  6. Please help if anyone knows. I have a Flextone II HD and am looking for a compatible cabinet for the cabinet modeling. I can't find any of the original flextone cabs kicking around. Will the spider V cabinets work and still allow cabinet modeling? If not any recommendations? I am currently running it through a mesa 2x12 cab but cabinet modeling doesn't sound right. Thanks!
  7. Hi, I've just got a new Spider V 20 MkII as an upgrade to my Spider III. I was surprised and disappointed to hear the loud buzzing and high-pitched whine coming from the amp on all settings except clean. My Spider III is completely silent on all modes, including INSANE. The Spider V is pretty much unusable because of the noise emitted when there is no significant input from a guitar. I have tried changing guitars, changing instrument cables, using different power sockets, moving to different rooms, but nothing seems to improve it. I can remove a lot of the noise using the Spider Remote noise gate and adjusting gains, but I don't see why that should be necessary with out of the box, factory preset tones. Is there something wrong with my Spider V amp or is this just something this amp does? Any help in getting rid of this unwanted buzz and whine is appreciated. Thanks
  8. Hello, i just recently purchased a variax-jtv 69s from sweetwater. I am currently using a Spider V with the FBV 3 foot board. I'm wondering if is possible to control the variax from the FBV3 like the helix floor can? Thank you.
  9. How can i make a factory reset on my spider V 20?, because i dont saved a backup file (.svl6p) of factory presets, THANKS
  10. I would like to know if there is a remote app that I can use to edit tones on my Spider V 240HC head for windows 10 OS. I used to have an older remote app that worked, however it recently stopped working. I have it for my iphone however it would make more sense to have it on my PC so I can edit tones while I record.
  11. Quite enjoying the Spider V with the mkII update but the Spider Remote app while great seems to have some options that are merely an afterthought or simply missing functionality altogether. Some quality of life updates to the remote would be nice because it is basically a practice amp -- for most if not all owners -- that is used from the comfort of our couch. Being able to use a mouse/smartphone/tablet to do these things would be nice; This is not just about me being lazy, well maybe a little but I am also thinking about users that don't have that kind of mobility that would like to have some ease of usage. Anyway, the things that would be nice to make this app more complete; Starting/stopping or changing the metronome needs to be done from the unit (Yet, there seems to be this lost option on v2.0 that allows changing the metronome speed) The looper can only be triggered via the unit or a FBV pedal (Yes. I get that this is an incentive to get a pedal, but for the practice amp usecase it is overkill. At the very least can there be support for the FBV2 where long pressing switch 1 and 2 triggers the tuner and toggles the metronome respectively? Being able to trigger the tuner from the app The built-in drum loops can only be triggered or altered from the unit itself (AFAIK this can't be done with the FBV either)
  12. Hello Line6 Community, I am trying to load presets from Customtone and the Cloud tab like before, but now it gives me this error "Failed to load the preset. Please try again." I have the latest update for Spider Remote and my amp(Spider V 30). If somebody knows any fix i'll be glad to hear it. Thanks for advance !
  13. My Spider v Remote software (v2.00) on the pc (win10) comes up with the " no internet access detected" aprox every 30 sec, sometimes it comes so often i cant even type in my login info because it resets it with the error message. Its driving me nuts, is there a fix for this problem ?? \Ture
  14. Would it be possible to browse custom tones by sorting them by tags, like genre or type, without having to search? I feel like having to guess key words really limits the ability to share original patches with the Spider V Community. For instance, I would like to try to find off the wall and weird experimental / ambient like patches. If i type in ambient, only the people who uploaded their contribution using that tag, would i only then get a match. If someone chose the word trippy, and I typed in groovy instead, we don't have a match. I just think the ability to browse the tones vs having to search for them, hoping luck is on your side. Great amp otherwise, my only gripe is the wireless g10 dongle squealing when it gets plugged into any of my active guitars. (I read the active setups trick the dongle into thinking it is charging? Who knows, that is for another thread.) Thanks in advance!!

  16. Hi, all. I've been trying to update my Spider V, but when I open the Updater and log in, I get the "Please select your device" prompt, but it won't show. In fact, I also have an old GearBox (GX1?) connected and it doesn't see that either. I have the latest version of Updater (1.18) and am running Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Can someone solve this for me, please? Thanks. P.S. I've also verified that my amp is registered and shows in my L6 account. Never mind. I'm a dumbass. Kids, remember to flip the little switch in back that goes from iOS to Android if you have an iPhone, but a Windows computer :/
  17. I have a spider v 240hc. Looking at a Harley Benton 212 cabinet. Cab specs are 120w @ 8ohn mono and 60w @ 16ohm stereo. Can I safely plug in without damaging my amp? I am almost certain it ok but want to double check. Really don't want a 412 at this time. Also if it does hook up will or how much power/quality will I lose? side question. Is the wireless system ok with active pu?
  18. I apologize if this topic already exists in the forum. I was searching on how to set up tone/volume in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. I didn't find the answer in Forum. My Spider V 30 is connected correctly to PC via USB and there is a sound of TL in Cubase. In Cubase, I choosed ASIO Spider V driver. I/O is Speder V (L&R) - Active. ASIO buffer Size is set to: Extra Small. I can record my TL from SpiderV 30 via USB and reproduce my records, too. It is not a problem, it works. But, quality of record is desperate and not acceptable, too. The sound is dark, blurry, somehow smudged and does not match what I hear on Spider V 30 while playing & recording. E.g effect as drive is not OK and corrupts the recorded. This is especially pronounced when I strumming all the strings. When I am playing finger style in clear sound or near clear, it is a better. It seams to me that solution is to set properly the tone on all devices in the chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. Acctually to set properly the tone/volume of input signal to PC or output signal from Spider V 30 via USB. When I am playing acoustic guitar via USB Audio Interface (UAI), I can adjust Input signal at UAI and all works fine. But at Spider V 30 there is not possibility to adjust Input signal. I can adjust tone at TL guitar as imput signal to SpiderV 30, but it changes a sound of guitar at SpiderV 30. Or I can reduce/decrease Master tone of SpiderV 30, but I can not hear what I am playing. Please, give me opinion regarding this topic. How to properly set up tone of all devices in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC? What are your experiences with this?
  19. Can you set what bank is selected with the FBV Express MK2 pedal? Like say A is bank 32a (User 1) B is bank 32b (User2) etc so you can change banks while you are playing using the 240 HC cabinet?
  20. It's probably been brought up before... but what would it take to get this Effect, added to the Spider V.... It seems to be the only effect that the Spider IV has that the Spider V does not? I saw there was a thing on IdeaScale for it, https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Add-Smart-Harmony-To-Spider-V/857958-23508#idea-tab-comments, ... This needs to be added. There is a Synth Harmony, but that is not the same....
  21. I know there is a general topic for tones and what not. These really aren't tones. In fact they are a lack thereof. These is ideal for those who want to start from scratch or a basic starting point to craft their own sound, or are just too easily distracted by what you get packaged in the amp. Consider them blank canvases. Installation is simple. Just download them to your PC, If you have any tones currently loaded into your Amp, be sure to back them up. And then click "restore," and load the downloaded svl6a file. This will wipe everything saved on your amp, so be sure to back up your tones or banks if you wish to use them later. After you do this, the only way to recover will be to restore a backed up bank, or reset the Spider V back to factory settings, which will restore the factory tones only. I will be adding variations to this idea as time goes on. Here I've taken the liberty of replacing all the tones with the default settings for the USER tones. Basically it's an empty tone bank as the name implies. Spider V Blank Tone Bank.svl6a On this one I've basically emptied out the tone bank and placed all the amps in their own slots for quick navigation. I have done nothing to the settings for the amps themselves, these are the stock settings for them on the Spider V. Another nice starting point to get familiar with what is available on the Spider V. Surf through them easily, pick one and build your sound from there. Spider V Amp Starter Bank.svl6a This idea for this is basically the same as the Amp Starter, only this time we start with the Cabinets. It seemed kind of silly to just use up only 25 slots in the bank so I have included the four mic settings for each Amp. I know that for many it doesn't make much of a difference what mic you use, but they are in there for giggles. I think you need to have your cab Modeling switch to "On" in order for this to be of any use. Spider V Cab Starter Bank.svl6a
  22. This isn't a request, this is actually a solution. Mind you the performance of your PC, will determine how usable it is. I am also pretty sure that this isn't news to some of you, I just haven't found anything yet on these forums detailing that someone else has done this. I have pictured, my desktop, with both the Windows version and the Android version (in a vbox emulator) running simultaneously. If you notice, the Android version (on the right) has usb OTG access to my 240 HC, while my PC version does not. This is because it won't let me share with usb access with the PC and the Vmachine to the same bus at the same time. When I shut down the Android emulation, it gives me USB access from the PC version. What this means is that I can download tones from the cloud, using the Android app, and by saving them to my tone bank in my Spider V, I can then shut down the Android app, and then edit said tone in Windows without having to change from a tablet/phone to my PC. Directions are forthcoming...
  23. I was wondering if anyone knows for sure what level the XLR outputs are on the SPider V 240? Are they Mic level, Instrument level, or Line level?
  24. Hello, in a recent firmware update for the spider V, a new option was added to the "Global Settings", that gives you the ability to use the phones output as a line output - independent of the internal speaker and the master volume knob. The spider V has also an AUX input jack, which doesn't go through the effects, but goes right into the speaker. In both output modes (line/phones) the aux input still goes into the output jack. It would be really good, if the AUX input could be routed only to the speaker and not to the output jack by another option in the "Global Settings". Could this be implemented through a firmware update? Is there any possibility Line 6 could release such a firmware update? Thanks for your time, Greenscreener
  25. Hello! I am very new to learning guitar, as well as all toys associated with it. I have a Spider V 120W, and just purchased a Firehawk FX. What is the best way to cable my Firehawk to my amp? Is the 4 cable method the best and/or only way? If I have the option to plug in to a sound board directly, can I just skip my amp, and plug my Firehawk via XLR directly to the board? Thank you so much for your help!! :)
