  1. So, I have a Spider 3 120 and I tried using a distortion pedal with it, the input was this: Guitar - pedal input, pedal output to amp input I tweaked settings of both the pedal and the amp, cables weren't broken and neither was the pedal or its battery/power supply as I used all of them after with a different amp and they worked flawlessly. Any advice to get pedals (not wah/modulation etc) to work with the spider 3 120?
  2. Anywhere I can source a replacement? I've been all over from full compass to reverb to ebay and beyond, no joy! Or perhaps repair tips? It works if I jiggle the cable enough....

  4. Here is the thing ... The Spider V is so incredibly functional that the Spider V is a lot closer to being a "baby Helix" than it is to being an "improved Spider IV". The problem with the Spider V is that it carries the reputation with it of its Spider I-IV predecessors -- including the Spider I-IV's goofy/limited effects controls, bad standard on-board presets, and many digital sound limitations. Spider V is light years of improvement over the previous Spider IV, being FAR more than a simple evolution of the IV's existing features. As stated previously, the Spider V has more in common with Helix than it does Spider IV. Because of the that, the big MISS was made by Line 6 marketing for attaching the "Spider" name to it at all, and not instead attaching "Helix/HX" to it. Spider V was bitten badly by poor pre-conceived notions by the marketplace. Spider V being such a jump in technology that it would have warranted the new branding along with establishing a fresh start from the bad reputation of Spider I-IV. With the new "Catalyst", Line 6 seems to be taking aim at Katana, and maybe a new "Spider VI" will be branded within that Catalyst family. Regardless, I think it is safe to say that we will see no more branding within the "Spider" line as Line 6 wants to separate itself from it. Regardless of pre-conceived notions or reputation, the Spider V is an AMAZING amp providing ridiculous amounts of functionality, control and TONE. The reviews for it are also overwelmingly positive. To me, personally, I think the Spider V outperforms everything in its pricepoint (yes, even Katana) and would be "almost perfect" as is if it just had an effects loop ...
  5. So i just got my Line 6 Spider V20 MKii for Christmas, and i have the Spider Controller app on my phone, but i don't know how to hook up my phone to the amp to use the Controller. Can I please get some help on this?
  6. Hi, my V60 first gen, just die, today i try play it and dont power up, last week power up ok, where find fuse? Or what happens? I looked for information on the Internet but did not find anything useful, I hope I have more luck here.
  7. We've had some reports of Spider Remote 2.0 failing to launch or crashing on Windows 10 systems. This does not affect all Windows 10 systems. If you encounter this issue, we suggest that you ensure that the latest version of the .net framework from Microsoft is installed on your computer. If it is and you still are having trouble, try reinstalling/repairing your Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable. Some users have found it helpful to install the most current version of C++ Redistributable, as well as both versions of the Visual C++ 2013 version: Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable x86 Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable x64 If that does not help, please contact our support staff at Line6.com/company/contact.
  8. Hi folks, struggling to motivate myself with the Spider Jam amp I have. Firstly, I got it free (unexpectedly) with a second hand guitar I bought; secondly, I got quite excited when I researched info and reviews about it. However, it’s volume control seems to act like a Fender amp, i.e. barely audible 1-2 or 1-3, then effing loud beyond that. Its cleans are ok, where they are clean and not subject to modulation, except the ‘blues - green’ which is excellent. The presets are pretty crap except 50s/60s songs, and those are guitar-dependant for authenticity - everything else sounds very flat or hair-metal inspired. However, in order to fix this you have to deep dive through menus (scant info in either manual downloaded; videos online more like infomercials). This is where my biggest problem lies: the cost of a new and under warranty, never mind mint condition used, fbv3 or fbv shortboard mk2 foot controller is ridiculous for what they are, and almost begs the question of whether to ditch the old tech and buy a Positive Grid Spark, or go for the foot controller (which one works best?) and persevere with the SJ? 9. Hi! I recently wanted to record my guitar directly into my pc into FL Studio. I have the Spider V 20 with the Spider Remote, and used the usb on the front to connect to my PC. Everything sounds fine, until I use the ASIO in FL Studio to set my Spider V 20 as the input. The guitar sounds great, but there is a zapping noise that happens every few seconds that ruins the recordings. Any help would be appreciated, here is a recording of the sound. Thanks Again! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v-3q9dGpf9m2m41lJvTW_hoiLi-MASfS/view?usp=sharing
  10. So I tinkered around with some settings in the Spider V Remote application to try and get a nice deep, scooped, chug sound and while I don't think I'm quite there yet, I thought I'd share my progress: First: The gating settings. Second: The "Screamer" pedal for a Stomp setting Third: the Amp/Distortion/Drive settings for the "Amp" setting. Fourth: the EQ band Fifth: A chous mod Sixth: finally, some reverb to round it all out I'm using a Line 6 Spider V 30 MkII amp with an ESP M-10 guitar customized with a Seymour Duncan "Dimebucker" pickup on the bridge and D'Addario EXL125 Nickel Wound 9|46 strings. Also, to be completely honest: I am currently playing at CGCFAD tuning, so the chug I've created had a bit of help. Also, I'm including the "customtone" I saved for the preset so you can play around with it. Key Distortion.svl6p
  11. I installed the Spider V Remote amp plus the Line 6 updated (which did it's job, everything it's supposed to) and when I go to open the Spider V Remote software, it starts to open... and then just shuts down. I really need the software. I sold my other amp just to get the Line 6 Spider back specifically for the software and the presets you can download. Anyone had any ideas?
  12. Hi together, I'm facing a problem after connecting my TBP06 (from the G30 set) directly to my amp Spider v 240. With firmware 1.05 everything is ok concerning the symbols on the display, left up the battery status and right up the wireless conectivity. When I switch to the newest firmware 2.00, which should be the "better" one, the display shows sometimes different symbols in the left upper corner. It changes, randomly and often, from the battery status symbol to an "amp symbol". See the attached picture showing both symbols. I don't know why and also I don't know whats behind the amp-symbol. Has someone the same behavior or can someone explain the symbols? Thanks for your answers. Andreas
  13. Has anyone had any luck moving SpiderIV settings and how to migrate them to SpiderV? I'm trying to transfer some settings but don't find them to be compatible with new software. Any advice or options??
  14. I've recently bought Spider V20. Everything works fine except switching cabinets in line 6 spider remote PC app. While switching cabinets the sound remains the same. It happens while I'm playing through Amp speaker and also via headphones. My V20 is running the 2.0 version software and remote PC app 1.03. Did anyone have similar problem? Any ideas? Thanks!
  15. Spider v20. Preset knob problem. Lost settings. Clean-Chime-Crunch-Chunk ..... not match Spider V Remote. FX2 and FX3, press the Save button - no result. HELP me!!
  16. Hi, need a stage stand for Spider V120 - prefer one with adjustanble hight settings - who can recommed one???? go on????? go on ???? Alastair
  17. Hi all, I got a new Spider V 240 combo today and I was really excited to try it out but it sounds awful, I think it may be broken, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar? Basically, the amp sounds great through headphones or direct into my Mac but the actual amp speakers sound really muffled / muddy, sounds like there is a pillow or something in front of the speakers. I have tried updating the amp, adjusting the EQ, assorts of parameters but no joy, still sounds bad. I have a horrible feeling I have a faulty amp but I thought I would ask here in case anyone has any suggestions. Thanks
  18. Although I actually do enjoy well-written manuals - and I would put Line6 manuals in that category - the ones for the Spider Jam and the FBV Express II are for the most part too technical for me. Well, not so much technical as an avalanche of tech-terminology that the writers clearly expect me to already know. My eyes glaze over. My difficulty is that nowhere can I find how you assign a particular guitar tone on the Jam amp to one of the four foot buttons on the FBV pedal. The pedal is s/hand, and works fine, but the buttons take me to the previous owner's four favourites and I don't know how to change that. Unless I've missed it, neither the Jam's manual nor the FBV's manual explain how you do it. Or they do, but I don't recognise it for what it is. I appreciate that the real difficulty is probably me but, if I'm to make any progress, I need a simple plain-language step-by-step explanation. Can anyone help?
  19. Hi. I found some issues in my Line 6 Spider 240HC amp that probably have other discussions opened, but i decided to record them. https://youtu.be/67unAeUulCA In the first one, the display flashes when it's turned off. https://youtu.be/477VH-TT4W8 That sound happens when i turn off the amp. That happens sometimes using different IEC cables. https://youtu.be/Fy6RwlY-xHk This problem started when i changed my IEC cable too. Sorry for the sound quality, there is a clicking sound when i activate the reverb. I though the it could be caused by the cable, but they are universal and i guess that it could be produced by digital issues. I really like this amp but it's difficult to play a gig calmed with that kind of problems. Is anyone having these problems? Sorry for my english.
  20. Hi, I am pretty new on home studio. I have been playing gigs all the time and went to studios to record. Unfortunately I don't have any idea about recording setup. I've got a Line 6 SPider V 240HC and a Mac with Logic Pro, but no audio interface. How can I record guitar track on Logic Pro using my Spider v 240 HC. Thanks
  21. Hi, I want to buy a spider jam. I notice that they were released in 2008. Is the current version for sale in shops still that version? or is there such a thing, spider jam 2.0? I have seen some youtube videos with the 2.0. There is one for sale in the local music shop in Kuala Lumpur that is the authorised distributor but I am unable to to determine if it is an old stock original or a newer 2.0 version. If the 2.0 exists, what is the difference to the original? Thanks!
  22. Hi My first Line 6 amp was a Spider Valve 112 (original version) and sometime ago the it pretty much died and I benched tested it and ruled IN the smaller PCB (the one controlling the LCD, Volume, Input, etc. It is connected via a ribbon cable to the longer board behind all the channel FX controls. Does anyone have a 112 they want to sell for parts (if that board is okay) or a resource for a new one ?? fullcompass online has parts, however, not anything like this. Yes I have searched eBay and other sites. Please contact me at: n944la ‘at’ gmail ‘dot’ com if you have any resources or are selling one. It it would be the left most board in the pic below...w/ the LCD display A15: UI RIGHT - 35-00-0247-1 REV A 7-JUNE-2007 Thank You Tim Dickerson ARS N9NU
  23. I purchased a used spider V 120 through GC and had it delivered to my house. Upon arrival, i excitedly plugged it in, only to find out it did not work, no sound, no display. So I took it back to GC and returned it. The GC staff was great and offered me a very good discount on a new Spider V 120. So I accepted and took my brand new amp home. After about 10 minutes of playing, I was scrolling through the amp section, when unreadable text started running across the bottom of the display. Noticing this problem, I powered down in hope of solving the problem with a hard boot. Upon powering up, the display no longer works. The amp works but I have no idea what is being played. I haven't had a chance to hookup a phone or tablet yet to see if that interface works, but even if it did, I would want the amp display to work. I haven't found any posts around this particular issue as of yet. Does anyone know if there is a simple way to resolve this problem before I return the amp. 2 strikes for line6 at this point in my book. Thanks for the help. Bo
  24. I recently purchased a POD HD500X. I already have a Vetta II amp and Spider Bogner amp. Has anyone run the HD500X into these amps? How did you set it up? David
  25. Hi eveyone! I am thinking to buy the Spider V, but I actually tryed just the 60w version of the amp, and I actually like it! I actually play Death-Metalcore and I need this amp for recording at home (USB/ Emulated Output to Audio interface / Shure SM57), and also to play some live concerts (small gigs) and with my band in small practise room. I am reading about REALLY BIG differences between the 120w and 240w version about: -Volumes (people changed their 120w with the 240w because it was not enough loud to play in live concerts) -Sound Quality (stereo vs mono seems to make a big difference) Since I don't have the possibility to try them in the store, is anyone able to tell me if there's really all this big difference? Is worth to spend more money to have 240w? Is really the 120w not loud enough? Is the 240w good to play at low volumes? Also, did anyone have any issues about latency while recording with USB ? Thanks everyone! :D Keep playing
