  1. Hi. Recently my Spider II 75 amp head has not been making any sound when the guitar is plugged in. I have checked the cab with another head and the cab is working fine. I've also ruled out the possiblity of it being a problem with leads/guitars etc. The lights on the head work fine and it plays music when i plug an mp3 player into the mp3 input, however when i plug the guitar in it wont make any sound. I've taken the head part apart and there doesnt seem to be any obvious problems inside. Anyone have any ideas what this could be?
  2. I just recently updated my Spider IV 150 to current specs and am exploring the new Gain effects. One thing that has always bothered me with modeling amps is the slight delay when switching amp models or channels (from A to B etc.) It occurred to me that with the new Gain effects, you don't have to switch channels to switch to your dirty sound. It's almost like the difference between switching channels and stepping on a distortion pedal (which I assume is what Line 6 was going for). My only issue is that the Gain stomps just don't quite have the same feeling as the amp models with drive cranked up. I've found that Tube Driver gets pretty close for a good rock to metal sounds, when compared to the cranked Class A Red or Insane Red. The Screamer is nice too but, I don't know how to describe it... I suppose what I kept running into is two conflicting EQs between the amp model and the stomp model (which just took time to find a good balance or just pick a new FX1 option) and a difference in output level, the cleans always seem to be more full and a little louder then when I kick in the Stomp effect. In the end I guess what I'm asking is if other people run into this to, how they deal with it, how they use the Gain effects, if anybody has some tips how to apply those effects along with channel volume, gain, drive etc. and lastly do people prefer to switch from A to B for clean/dirty or use the effects? Thanks!!!!
  3. my gear: Spidervalve HD100 MK2 FBV longbard (formerly FBX) Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64 bit desktop Intel Core i5 CPU M-Audio 1x1 MidiSport M-Audio DELTA Audiophile 2496 tried to install the SPIDER FX INFUSION v2.0 getting the error in object, first through 1x1 Midisport then through Delta 2496; once again even via my 32 bit Windows XP laptop. nothing came out in any case... any news? could anybody help? thanx.
  4. I play guitar at home as a hohby. I have an old Spider III 30 watt amp and am looking at options for upgrading my sound. Would there be any drawbacks (such as fidelity) to feeding the output of a POD HD into the line input (CD/MP3) in the front of my Spider, which I assume is designed to be uncolored, which is what I'd want? Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts?
  5. I can hardly find any presets for the Spider IV 150 in the CustomTone page. Almost every time I try to load a tone in Spider Edit, I get the message "This Setting Contains Models Not Available in your Device" My 150 is updated, I assumed it would work with anything the 75w and up versions had...?
  6. Don't know why I never thought of doing it before, but yesterday I hooked up a Shure SM58 and my Taylor acoustic/electric to my Mackie ProFX12 mixer, then sent the output to the CD/MP3 input on the back of the Spider. Voila! - Instant PA System! I did find out, though, that if I only fed 1 side of the left/right mixer output to the stereo input that the volume was not very loud, but when I sent a full stereo signal (I used the headphone output because I only had an adapter to do it that way), the volume was huge - and clear! Most likely I would never use the amp this way, but it's a good option as I don't have any powered PA speakers of my own to use, and it would make an ideal monitor, too.
  7. hello everyone, I recently borrowed from a friend of mine an Ibanez wah pedal and tried to connect it to my spider jam..Unexpectly no sound came through my amp..I tried ( at least I think ) everything..The connection order was like that : Guitar ---> Wah Pedal ---> Amp I also came up with the idea to set the clean channel to my amp but still nothing.. You know I am very very keen on that problem, because I want to start building my own stompbox slowly - slowly but I am not sure if this is possible..And I forgot to mention that the pedal is completely ok because I had a try on it on a Marshall amp... What am I doing wrong? Because if a great amp such a Spider Jam cannot support any other pedal from another manufacturer ,then AT LEAST it should be mentioned in the preview list for the customers.. Thank you , any shortcoming respond will be appreciated..
  8. Hi guys I have a Spider IV and I like to play the bass, I had to sell it and I'm using the FX Pitch Glide to become my guitar into a bass, so do you guys think that my amp can be decomposed by using it as bass guitar?
  9. Hey guys, I have recently purchased a Line 6 Spider IV 75. I'm now using it as a replacement of my previous amp, which is a solid state, non-modeling one. The thing is, I have tried to use a few pieces of my pedal board(which I have used before), and they just sound weird. The wah sounds ok I think, but the Boss DD-3 Digital Delay sounds distorted when I'm using it on a dirty channel. I have read before that analogue pedals don't work well with modeling amps, but shouldn't the delay just work ok? I mean it's not an overdrive pedal or something, which could affect the sound that much. There's no effects loop though, which might affect the tone, I think. Could you guys provide me some info on this? What's your experience with Wah / Delay pedals on Line 6 Spider IVs?
  10. Hey guys! New to the forums. I have one simple question. I just ordered a new set of knobs for the spider valve and noticed that the knobs braking are quite common. My problem is that i can't seem to get the old broken knob to come off. Anyone else out there with this problem? Any help is much appreciated Thank you, Nick
  11. Hi. I always wanted to add some new effects to my loved spider valve, especially the octoverb and particle reverb, so, I buy a Line6 M5 and I want to show you how I use both together. Guitar -> Spider Valve -> preamp out -> M5 in -> M5 out -> power amp in MIDI = Spider valve midi out/thru -> M5 midi in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7RfXpNYWew Sorry my english, is not my native lenguage. 12. Hi, I need some advice to match my Spider III 4x12 cab with a Krank Rev Jr Pro. The spider cab has two 8ohms inputs running in stereo and the left side input running 4 ohms in mono, my amp has a 16/8 ohms switch, i would like to know if it will be rigth to connect my amp with the swiitch in 8 ohms, to the right side of the spider cab, will this deactivated the left side of the spider cab, letting me use the 8 ohms side of the cab? thanks for your help!

  15. The main features of the Spider III amplifier can be controlled by connecting an FBV Shortboard MKII. Q: What type of cables are used with the Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII? A: The Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII uses a standard CAT-5/6 cable with standard RJ-45 ends. These cables are very common in data connection and can be found in most local computer outlets. The FBV controllers ship with a black 25' cable included in the box. Please see the chart below that details what each switch controls on the Spider III amplifier.
