  1. Hi! I have a question. I would like to connect my Helix directly to my mixer and than to my headphones IEM or wedge. Sometimes sound from engineer console to my wedge or IEM is bad.. Eq is terible. So I thought maybe I can take only band mix (without my guitar) from sound engeener into my 1th channel in mixer and in 2nd channel I can plug my Helix from headphones out? Than mix this two channel and that is done. My band and well sounding presets from helix :D Will it work? There're be no input lags between my Helix and global console? I use two XLR outputs so better to use is 2xXlr and headphones out or maybe 2XLR and left 1/4 jack? Thanks for your reply or various tips :)
  2. Everyone likes the end result first, so here is a pic or the board standing up. (Sorry about my lollipop photography skills) So I've been looking at the Helix a bit over the last couple of days and one thing that stuck out to me was a lack of guides for the I/O when standing up looking at the pedal. In a dark setting and at a show most of the time I'm leaning over my board to look at connections upside down and then having to combat faint text to work out where I'm at. I noticed that the design of the Helix has an angled section near the top. I thought it was a bit odd that this wasn't potentially used for ease of use with respect to the back panel. So I got to thinking. I used a label maker I had lying around at home and purchased some neon green fluorescent cartridges for it. Then, I printed a few copies of each section (adjusting the spacing if need). The method behind this was to be able to separate each section so that the 'boarder line' were in line with where the input/outputs would roughly be. Once all of them were done it as just a matter of sticking them in the order I preferred and now its much easier to deal with plugging everything I need in. Here are some photos in a dark and light setting. I hope it helps or inspires someone. - Zahn
  3. Hey guys I have a question that confused me for a long time I don't have any stereo effect in my chain, all effect is mono. . So, I am using direct out mode XLR L out to PA Mixer And XLR R to a IEM system for myself and other members to listen to ensure my best guitar sound. and I also want to use my 1/4 out L to plug in the Amp/Cab Return as a ampflier (NOT for F.O.H.) Because I want to give the front part of audience just listen only Drums (if we don't use Amp/Cab anymore) But i heard that there is a problem that it will cause the gear break becuz of the "Ground" will be the same between 1/4 and XLR output and it will make "Electricity backfeeding" damage the console and POD HD! REALLY? Can I use 3 output or even 4 output at the same time? Can Someone help me to solve my confusion, and tell me if there's other problem not include? Thx a lot!
  4. Hello, I have not typical situation I want to help my friend who has md20 stage scape. He is totally not computer guy, he hates computers and computers hate him :) Believe me he even doesn't know too much what Google is, and he doesn't speak English :) And my friend lives 500 km from me, so I can't see his "Stage scape", so I try to help but I'm really in the dark. Maybe you could help, please very much. The problem is: he records mainly drums, and all his records have most transients equal 0db - it's not distorted (over load) but transients look like they are cut, like there is some limiter applied. And we want to record without that effect. So I told my friend to decrease all preamps/input about half of full. But the problem is still the same. I'm not sure how to turn off that effect, and exactly what is this? Limiter or something else? I read in manual about something called "Auto trim". I suppose it could be the reason. But actually in manual I can't find information if that "auto trim" is turned on by default or turned off? I suppose my friend had not turned on any function, because as I told he is moron in those type of gear. So I suppose it is turned on by default. But could you say what is this (is it really that "auto trim" or not?) and how to turn it off? Please help us. For any help great thanks in advance. Maybe you could give some step by step instruction with photos. We would be very appreciate. Best Regards, Wojtek
  5. When I am on the stage, I am very scared that if I operate any knobs or key by mistake. So is there a method to lock the key on the panel except the key by foot-press?
  6. Seriously considering to buy HD500X. I want to minimize my gear and think HD500X is good solution. I can not find information on the following issues: Can I use HD500X to mixed signals from the PA in in-ear headphones and so to use it as personal monitor system. If "YES" which input to use for the signal from the PA (CD/MP3, AUXIN?). Can I control the signal strength from my guitar and mix PA. Do I need additional settings to prevent the signal from the PA to be back in the mix from the processor output, ie to be heard only in the headphones. If "NO"... :( Thanks in advance for your replies :-)
  7. I am excited about the new release. The fader mode is great! Can someone please explain what the 'follow stage' mode is and how it works? Also on the fader screen: Is the fx (center tab) applied to all main outputs?
  8. Hey what's up guys. A new user to the forum, but I've been using line 6 products for quite some time. Do a lot of mixing/AE work and looking to get better. That's besides the point :P So, I just picked up a PODHD500X and this thing is pretty amazing thus far. Have gotten some really great tones out of it already with the many custom amp/cab tweaks you can make. - We want to run this in a live application for gigs, however going into a cab does not give enough output volume to even be mic'd + the guitarist would like to hear what he's playing. - We have run this direct -in, however the monitor feedback gets a bit 'whiny' when standing too close to the monitors and is not a preferred method of running the pod. (Unless we go in-ears, but that's dropping a bit of cash) I've gone over the pedal settings a lot and as far as I know, I have all the volume settings adjusted at max, but it's still not cutting it. TL;DR- Running this into a cab, how do you maximize sound output? Cheers!
  9. Anyone had this weird problem - I use the pitch glide setting to create a dive bomb effect when playing the intro to 'lonely boy' and twice playing it on a local festival stage, the pitch glide has either failed completely (which somewhat ruins the intro!) or has been intermittent. This has never happened in any other rehearsal or gig. The only issue I could come up with is that walkie talkies, which have been used by the stage crews in each instance, may have been causing radio interference with the RJ45 cable connecting my FBV Shortboard to my amp (a Spider IV 150). And because the pitch glide effect requires a non-static or changing signal, from Shortboard to amp, this was somehow failing to be transmitted 'cleanly' along the RJ45 cable. I have now bought a more robust RJ45 which claims to have better insulation from radio interference. Then again we have also now dropped that song from our live set - just in case it happens again! Thoughts/comments/shared experiences anyone....?
  10. Is is possible to use the M20d as a personal monitor mixer? Just like the Roland M-48? The roland m-48 uses cat-5 connectors, and I was wondering if the AES/EBU connection can be used for digital signal input other than the L6 Link? I wanted know if I can use the m20d as a slave mixer (onstage).
