  1. Looking for some EQ tips for my Strat to stand out in the mix. I play on my church’s worship team and find that my tone coming through the PA and through online streams sounds really dark and thin at times. How can I clean this up and make it really stand out in the mix? Ideally it sounds more “full” and is able to be clearly heard. I’m using compressors and hi/low cuts on the amps and cabs when necessary. Appreciate the advice!
  2. Hi! I'm new on this forum, I'm from Italy. Recently I purchased a Variax Standard white, I would like to transplant it into a stratocaster body and consequently replace the neck with a maple neck. I've already made a transplant of a Variax 300 into this body with fake pickups but now I would upgrade this body with all Variax Standard electronics and real pickups. Does exist any project on the web? Have anybody tried this transplant?
  3. hey guys, so i know the possibilities are endless with the 500x but i was wondering.. is it possible to have your guitar sound like another one.. i currently have a strat but I'm a PRS lover.. do you guys think it's possible to get my strat to get somewhat of a prs tone.. almost like an SE custom 24.. any help would be appreciated! thanks!
  4. Hey guys, Here is a new Helix video for you! It's an alternative rock song using my Fender American Special Stratocaster. I'm running that into the Helix using the new wonderful OwnHammer Class-A Duo IR's. I'm using a couple of different amps but for the main tones I chose the Mandarin 80 model. It sounds pretty nice with my strat and those OH IR's. After the song I also demonstrate the presets. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A40IbRkB1Ys
  5. Guys I will try my best to recreate the 1.9 tone of the strat to 2.0. BUT I need some help. I need somebody to record all the 5 positions of the strat 1.9 without any amp or effects. I know I can roll back to 1.9 and do it by myself, but I worry a bit to do it. (maybe some problems will appear that I didn't have before) So, anybody kind enough to help me?
  6. Hello. James here, So I'm new to these forums, and couldn't find much insight into what I'm about to ask. I'm trying to set up a scene on my M13 detailing three specific tones used by John Mayer. Tone 1 : from Where The Light Is - GRAVITY(LIVE) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnTkVZCxHHs Tone 2: from Where The Light Is - BELIEF(LIVE) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn13GjkIxg4 Tone 3: from Letterman - CROSSROADS(LIVE) : As far as equipment is concerned: -Fender Blacktop Strat, 2 Humbuckers -Fender Frontman 15g -Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler So that's that. If you guys could provide me with some insight on how I could achieve these sounds, that'd be helpful. Thanks. James If possible, I'd like to make this thread dedicated to the JM fans out there.
