  1. Hello All, Proud owner of way too many line 6 products. Specifically with my Variax, I am noticing some compatibility issues with certain softwares that prompted me to ensure I had both a Windows and Mac computer. I can't recall how long ago Monkey and Updater stopped being supported on Mac OS but it prompted me to go get a windows desktop (amongst other justifications for needing it). However, even the windows softwares didn't seem to allow me to do a factory reset on the Varian (a Shrunken, which has some eccentric tunings I wanted to try out). I tried referring to the manual for the tunings but seeing "BEEEEE" tuning doesn't help me know which octave each string is set to. Might just be me and this particular scenario but Stevics tunings sometime need to note which dang octave LoL. Sorry, tangent. I still think that some of these tools either need to be supported fully until there is a working replacement or compatibility needs to be addressed somehow, hence my browser suggestion. I'll just leave this note here for now. Curious if anyone else has similar experiences and very mild frustrations. Cheers, JScotty
  2. Hello, in a recent firmware update for the spider V, a new option was added to the "Global Settings", that gives you the ability to use the phones output as a line output - independent of the internal speaker and the master volume knob. The spider V has also an AUX input jack, which doesn't go through the effects, but goes right into the speaker. In both output modes (line/phones) the aux input still goes into the output jack. It would be really good, if the AUX input could be routed only to the speaker and not to the output jack by another option in the "Global Settings". Could this be implemented through a firmware update? Is there any possibility Line 6 could release such a firmware update? Thanks for your time, Greenscreener
  3. So, I just created my first patch and loaded it to my hd500x. It took me MUCH longer than I anticipated. One of the things that made it slow is that I had to keep tweaking the patch settings, then play my guitar to test. I realize this suggestion will have its flaws, but I was wondering if there was any way to record a quick .mp3 of the guitar riff, chords, whatever, and then send that back thru the software over and over and OVER to at least try to get the sound close. Then, I could fine tune it with my guitar?? Just trying to save my bleeding fingertips. One the plus side, I did get the riff down well while I was making the patch. I realize there are downsides to the idea. Just trying to speed up the process. Thanks, cbsohdave
  4. I'm not in very deep, But I have read the manuals and have tinkered some. Is there a way to create a kind of "crossover" in the pre-A/B block? Perhaps a LPF on the lower wire and an HPF on the upper wire. Any thoughts? Anyone try this? Wondering about bi-amping potential this way. It would be cool if Line6 added a dedicated splitter/crossover in the Pre-A/B position-- in a similar spirit to the included the mixer in the Post-A/B position. It could have two modes: if the prior block is stereo, it would provide settings to route L & R from a stereo block to the A or B path. If the prior block is mono, it could provide a crossover option to send highs to one path and lows to the other. Being able to control the both the A/B pan, and cross-over frequency in realtime. That would be awesome. I would have liked to see more a few more realtime control sources for parameters. For example, have 4 assignable MIDI CC's, 2 LFO generators, and two dynamic envelopes based on any input source (even for side-chaining). This would allow realtime control and automation in a DAW, In the UI, the list of available controls would expand to include: EXP1, EXP2, LFO1, LFO2, ENV1, ENV2, A-MIDI CC, B-MIDI CC B, C-MIDI CC, D-MIDI CC. Then use system settings to configure each of the new controls. In the signal flow screen, there could be some change to show double-wires for stereo fx-- and split to show when L goes to A and R goes to B. It would also be cool if there was some little underline to show how much CPU is being used by which blocks. Sometimes the designers were faithful to the originals avoiding adding controls that were lacking in the originals, and sometimes they added them. I think it would be good if they added a 2nd page to some FX models to add in "modern" alterations where appropriate. I'd also like to see a modern compressor with: threshold, ratio, knee, attack & release times, and make-up gain. Don't interpret this as whining. I'm pretty happy with the HD500 (now that I've repaired the buttons and broken encoder on this used unit).
  5. I am enjoying the early days of gigging with a Firehawk. I must say that I like it a lot. Great job, Line 6! BUT.... I would like to ask Line 6 to put out a new device with these features: Something like the firehawk but: 1) Smaller. Much smaller. The Helix, HD series and Firehawk are too big. 2) Yes, I want the wah/volume pedal. 3) I don't care if I edit on PC or by bluetooth... just make it easy. 4) Like the Firehawk, but with a button that can turn on or off the amp modeling. 5) Assignable buttons - like Firehawk - but ALL can be assigned and ALL have a small screen showing what the buttons are assigned to. 6) Patches are OK, but not necesary. I would rather have ONE patch with 8 buttons where I can turn on/off the effects assigned to those buttons. 7) Did I mention - keep it SMALL?
  6. Just a modest proposal. If I were able to use my collection of IR's straight within my POD I wouldn't be considering purchasing an Axe FX II in the future. I feel like other L6 share this sentiment.
