  1. Alright so im hoping i can get some good help here. So I recently upgraded from the HD500 to the 500x. As soon as i started to play on the 500X, i noticed how loud the foot switches sound. They make a terrible, loud, "click" sound when playing through an amp. Is the problem my amp or the HD500X? Should i return my 500X for another one? Or is the problem universal? As a matter of fact, any contact with the device makes that "click" sound. Pressing down on buttons, toggling switches, moving knobs, etc... Please help. Thank you.
  2. Hello everyone. It has long had a multi-effect rack that commanded by a midi footswitch. This footswitch had the ability to select a preset with a switch, and if I could drive again move to the previous preset. This way, I could switch two preset with the same switch. Is this possible with the POD HD 500? Thank you very much from now. Sorry for my English.
  3. Hey just a quick question. I just started using the edit software and whenever my usb is connected to the computer, the patch switching is very slow and hiccups...the patch switches, but then there is a moment, perhaps half a second, of silence, and then the patch finally kicks in. I just wanted to make sure this is normal......however, ideally I would like to be able to leave the board connected so I can edit on the fly and save quickly as I go. Is that gonna be a possibility? One thing worth noting is that my computer is a MacBook Pro, but a 2007 model that is in otherwise perfect running order. Thanks!
  4. Hi all, quick question: I'd like to be able to activate my Wah via a footswitch instead of useing the expresion pedal toe switch. I like playing live with my volume pedal around 80% it gives me some room to boost when needed and such. My problem is that in order to switch over to WAH useing the expresion pedal toe switch, I have to max out my volume pedal in order to activate it, then i'm stuck at 100% volume for my Wah when what I really want is about 80%. Is there any way around this? I've tried setting the Wah to be controlled by a footswitch but it doesn't seem to work the way that I was hopeing for. Thanks for your time.
  5. I have a POD HD Pro and recently acquired an ADA MP-1 preamp,. I have the MP1 in the FX loop of the Pod, and it's working quite well. I just ordered a midi cable. The ADA is a Midi preamp. Is it possible to set up MIDI to change the ADA preset based on my pod patches? So pod patch 1A the ADA is on preset 1, Pod patch 1b the ADa is on preset 2, etc? Would love some tips on how to do this if possible, but i'll also take "it's possible, read the manual" if anyone knows it can be done - thanks!
  7. I just recently updated my Spider IV 150 to current specs and am exploring the new Gain effects. One thing that has always bothered me with modeling amps is the slight delay when switching amp models or channels (from A to B etc.) It occurred to me that with the new Gain effects, you don't have to switch channels to switch to your dirty sound. It's almost like the difference between switching channels and stepping on a distortion pedal (which I assume is what Line 6 was going for). My only issue is that the Gain stomps just don't quite have the same feeling as the amp models with drive cranked up. I've found that Tube Driver gets pretty close for a good rock to metal sounds, when compared to the cranked Class A Red or Insane Red. The Screamer is nice too but, I don't know how to describe it... I suppose what I kept running into is two conflicting EQs between the amp model and the stomp model (which just took time to find a good balance or just pick a new FX1 option) and a difference in output level, the cleans always seem to be more full and a little louder then when I kick in the Stomp effect. In the end I guess what I'm asking is if other people run into this to, how they deal with it, how they use the Gain effects, if anybody has some tips how to apply those effects along with channel volume, gain, drive etc. and lastly do people prefer to switch from A to B for clean/dirty or use the effects? Thanks!!!!
  8. I have 5 banks filled with patches which used to work perfectly fine. Now all four patches of the first bank work fine, but when I change bank, like to the second one, there is no sound from any patch, even in the third bank, only the third patch of the 3rd bank has sound, and only the second and third patches of the the fourth bank has sound, this is a really weird problem, I have never faced this before. But when I connect the unit through POD HD Edit software and double press any patch from any bank, there is perfect sound. I have tried reinstalling firmware, but nothing has helped. Please help?
  9. Well, after the first JTV59 I bought was bricked while doing a firmware update, I returned it to my local Guitar Center. They were kind enough to transfer in two different JTV59's so I could pick the one with the nicest top. That took a week. So, yesterday, back to Guitar Center I went and picked up a new JTV59, and played it last night. Really like the guitar. Tonight however, while practicing, I had the model selector set to SEMI and without any interaction on my part, the models would switch intermittently. Then the three position switch stopped working - it wouldn't switch between various models within the model selection. The three position switch works fine when just switching the magnetic pickups, but not with the models. Doesn't matter if I have VDI or battery (which is full) powering the guitar. I updated the firmware to 1.9, but that did not fix the problem. Neither did rolling it back to 1.82. Tonight I also noticed that there is an audible click when engaging the model selector switch. The click comes from the upper cavity and toggles with the selector switch. Not sure what that means. I'm getting frustrated. I love the way these guitars play and sound, but with this kind of reliability, who would be confident to gig with this? I mean, really, $1,500 and I'm two for two with defective units? (Boy am I glad I didn't spring for the US model) So, I opened up a tech support case and they say that they will get back to me within three business days. Great, that's next week! Anybody have any ideas? Frustrated, John
  10. Hi, I'm an intermediate guitarist who has owned a Spider IV amp for a long time and has been souly living off switching between the preset tones on the left dial (Metal, Insane, Twang etc...). I am not an expert and know next to nothing about amplifiers so if you could help me out here, thank you. There's 4 channel buttons at the top which are presets for a certain tone, When I change the tone on that channel, it reverts back to the standard built-in tone and forgets my customisations, how do I get it to save the changes? Sorry if this is extremely vague, the amplifier jargon hasn't sunk in yet. Still learning. Thanks :D
  11. I'm new to this, just bought the M9. Did anyone ever try to use two expression pedals on the M9, each for different purposes/functions? I'd like to know if it's possible to assign expression settings (like wah, volume or pitch) to expression pedal one and switch between scenes with pedal two. Meaning I want to be able to change scenes on the fly and still have expression capabilities assigned to each effect/scene. If that's not possible, what are the two expression inputs for? What do you use the two expression pedals for? Thanks for shedding some light here.
