  1. Some users of macOS might receive a system extension error message if they're connecting their device, or starting their computer. What to do if you get this error message on your Mac: The alert may ask you to open Security & Privacy preferences to allow the extension. You may also need to restart your Mac. The alert may ask you to contact the developer for support because the extension needs to be updated or will be incompatible with a future version of macOS. If you continue to get this message, you may need to remove the driver extension with these steps: The alert may ask you to open Security & Privacy preferences to allow the extension. You may also need to restart your Mac. On a Mac with Apple silicon, you may first need to use Startup Security Utility to set the security policy to Reduced Security and select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox.
  2. What is the Metallurgy Collection? The MetallurgyTM Collection of amplifier and effects plugins was created specifically for guitarists who wish to quickly and easily access contemporary versions of classic and modern metal tones—as well as craft original tones of their own. The Collection bundles the Modern, Thrash, and Doom plugins, which are also available individually. The Metallurgy Collection plugins feature amplifier and effects models drawn from the award-winning HX® family of products. How many amp models per plugin? Each Metallurgy plugin features four amplifier models carefully chosen to deliver a full range of genre-specific tones. What kind of effects are included? Pre-amplifier Effects Each Metallurgy plugin features 3 (or more) mono. style-specific effects, as well as a polyphonic capo, that can be used before the amp in the signal chain. Post-amplifier Effects Each Metallurgy plugin features two stereo, style-specific effects that may be used after the amp in the signal chain. What about Cabinets, Microphones, and IRs? Each Metallurgy plugin features a choice of eight speaker cabinets and eight microphones, all based on IRs. Two mics may be selected and combined with a stereo room mic array, and up to two third-party Impulse Responses (IRs) may be substituted for the factory mics. Once you’ve logged in and authorized your Metallurgy software, IRs purchased from the Line 6 Marketplace on the same account will be made available in Metallurgy. Can I automate parameters in the Metallurgy Collection? Yes. Nearly every parameter in the Metallurgy Collection can be automated. Does the Metallurgy Collection support MIDI parameter control? Yes, nearly every parameter in the Metallurgy Collection can be controlled via MIDI CC. Is amp switching and amp bypassing via MIDI Learn or automation available? Switching channels via midi/automation is not available because the plugin would have to load the DSP of the alternate channel – which is essentially another model being loaded. Changing amp models in general is not supported via midi and automation. You can bypass an amp model and its DSP by disabling (bypassing) the amp view in the top toolbar. That also is not supported via midi learn or automation. There are other ways to bypass/mute that are midi/automation supported within the cab view’s mixer. Is the UI resizable? Not at launch. We’re working on it. Does the Metallurgy Collection support Retina displays (2x resolution)? Yes. The Metallurgy Collection includes Retina support. Is there Undo/Redo functionality? Yes, Undo/Redo is included at launch, along with A/B Compare. Does the Metallurgy Collection have a built-in tuner? Yes, it does include a chromatic tuner. Will there be a standalone version? Yes, each plugin includes standalone functionality. Are there any artist presets? Not at launch. 3. Changes to macOS Security Policy With Silicon processor computers running macOS Big Sur or greater, Apple has changed their security policy. These machines no longer allow third party drivers to be installed in the manner that they previously had. Driver installs now require the macOS security settings to be lowered before installation. As Silicon is still new to everyone, we expect to see bug fixes, changes and optimizations to macOS Big Sur and possibly subsequent macOS releases over the coming months. With that, the Silicon driver install process may change as well. As such, we encourage you to update your Silicon machine to the latest Big Sur version, which is currently 11.6, before installing drivers. Changing Security Settings Apple’s guide to changing security settings on a Silicon Mac are found at: https://support.apple.com/en-lk/guide/m … 8f7291/mac · Shut down your Mac · Press and hold the power button until you see "Loading startup options …". Your Mac will boot into Recovery mode. · Click Options (the gear icon), then click Continue · In macOS Recovery, you may need to choose your account and click Next. Enter the password and click Continue. · In the top menu go to Utilities...Startup Security Utility · Select the system on which you want to install the Driver. If the disk is encrypted with FileVault, click Unlock, enter the password, and then click Unlock. · Click Security Policy, choose Reduced Security and check the option to allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers · Click OK. Enter the password for your account and click OK. · Restart your Mac from Apple menu Rosetta Installation When installing the Line 6 driver from the downloaded dmg file, you may be prompted to install Rosetta. · If so, click “Install”. Enter your password when requested. · If you see “System Extension Blocked”, go into System Preferences...Security and Privacy, click the lock, enter your password, click Unlock, and choose Allow. · Restart your Mac. Driver Removal It is advised that no programs are open, especially programs that may require the kext that is about to be removed. 1. In Finder, locate the kext file that is to be removed. Kext files are located in Library/Extensions. Keep this finder window open. 2. Open Terminal. Type the following command followed by the pathway of the kext that you would like to remove. Type without the quotes: "sudo kmutil unload -p /Library/Extensions/<Kext Name>". (ex. "sudo kmutil unload -p /Library/Extensions/L6Helix.kext") and click enter. 3. Enter your password. There should be no message after this. 4. Go to the finder window that was left open in step 1 and remove the kext file to the trash. You will be prompted to enter your password. 5. Restart your computer. 6. Go to Library/Extensions in finder and verify that the kext file is no longer in the extensions folder. If you see a message in Terminal (after Step 3), chances are there is another program open operating in the background that may interrupt the command. If so, restart your computer - verify there are no applications open and begin steps 1-6 again.
  4. Hello. I was wondering if Helix Native would work in a mini PC that Im interested in. I plan to build a mobile rig using a mini Pc, a MIDI controller and a Lexicon Alpha (not the best but is what I have). The doubt comes with the characteristics of the microprocessor in the MIni PC, this is a Gigabyte Brix with a Celeron J3455 wich base frequency is 1.5 Ghz but the manufacturer says that works up 2,3 Ghz. As Native requirements says that need from 2 Ghz dual core, I started to think about that 1,5 Ghz base frequency. Wich is the number that I have to pay attention? 1,5 Ghz base freq or the "up to 2,3 Ghz? Thanks ...
  5. So, I'm having a problem, and I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I can hope one of you might be able to help. I'm a newbie to this kind of stuff, most of the time I've figured things out by random trial and error. The problem I'm having is that my microphone is not being detected by Windows, it doesn't show up at all. I've tried a variety of things, but if you think you have a solution, assume I haven't tried it. If you can, I would like details and step by step stuff, I'm not great at improv direction. I'm a streamer and Youtuber, and the mic and interface was chosen because it's the the popular choice among other streamers. Details of my setup: Mic: AT 2035 Interface: Line 6 UX2 PC: Custom OS: Windows 10 Pro Motherboard: Crossfire V Formula Z CPU: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.01 GHz Ram: 16.0 GB GPU: GTX 1080 Founder Edition Recording Software: OBS Picture 1: Current configuration of Pod Farm 2 Version: 2.59 Details: As seen, all three items in the configuration are turned on. Input is set to mic 1, and as seen from the levels the mic is working and the software is registering audio. Picture 2: Pod Farm License Manager Details: As seen, both my computer and the UX2 Interface are authorized. Something I see, there are add-on's in UX2 but not on my pc, not sure if that is significant. Picture 3: Playback and Recording Details: "Speakers 3 - Line 6 UX2" from the UX2 obviously "NVIDIA HDMI Output (Port 1 - 3)" Are my monitors "SONY TV - 4" Another of my monitors "AT Headphones" My headphones "Realtek Digital Output (1 - 2)" Not sure, but from the disc that came with my motherboard "Digital Audio Interface 3 - Line 6 UX2" from the UX2 obviously "Microphone" This is not the AT 2035. I'm unsure what it is, but when listening to audio its just the same droning noise. Might be an audio jack on the computer itself. "Line In" No clue on this. "Stereo Mix" Not sure what this does, but it is also from the disc that came with the motherboard. That's everything that I can think to include. If you need more information in order to help I will do my best to answer. So, if you might know of a solution, please do say.
  6. What is Echo Farm 3.0 ? Echo Farm is a 64-bit delay modeler plug-in for the Pro Tools 11+ AAX Native platform. It offers 12 different delay models based on a combination of actual hardware devices and Line 6 originals and provides simple and effective controls for delay time, repeats, and other specialized parameters, such as magnetic head pattern or bit reduction. Echo Farm was introduced in the year 2000 as a Pro Tools TDM plug-in and became extremely popular, used on a multitude of award-winning records and soundtracks. Due to popular demand, we now make Echo Farm available as an AAX Native plug-in. When will Echo Farm be available and how much will it cost? Echo Farm 3.0 is available now through the Line 6 online store. The standard AAX license costs $199. What are the OS requirements? Mac OS Mountain Lion version 10.8.3 and higher Windows 7 and higher Is there an upgrade path to the AAX version? Yes there is, for registered 2.x TDM owners. The upgrade from 2.x TDM to 3.0 AAX costs $49. Both the 2.x TDM and the 3.0 AAX Echo Farm licenses need to be associated with the same iLok account for the upgrade to work. Will I have to surrender my Echo Farm TDM license when I activate the AAX license? Yes, the TDM license will be surrendered and voided when the AAX license is activated. This is irreversible. The AAX license will not authorize the TDM plugin. How can I tell if I own the 2.x TDM version? If you can see an Echo Farm license in the iLok License Manager program, you qualify. From Digidesign's archive: Echo Farm 2.0 or higher requires iLok authorization Beginning in December, 2002, all registered Echo Farm owners that purchased the older retail version of Echo Farm that shipped with floppy key disk authorizations were automatically sent Echo Farm 2.0 update kits with the installer CD and an iLok License Card. Is an iLok device required to use Echo Farm 3.0? Yes, it requires a version 2 or version 3 iLok device. Echo Farm 3.0 cannot use your computer alone as an authorizing device. Can I try it before I buy it? Yes. A time-limited demo version of Echo Farm 3.0 can be activated at line6.com/ilok. What changed in Echo Farm between the TDM and AAX version? Are there any new delay models? Our design goal was to provide 100% session compatibility and ensure that older projects open smoothly in Pro Tools 11 and higher. For this reason, we kept the Echo Farm AAX feature set unchanged from the TDM version. However, the AAX version now supports sampling rates up to 192 kHz, which was not possible with the older TDM version. What are your plans for an AAX DSP version of Echo Farm? We plan to release the plug-in on the AAX Native platform initially and evaluate demand for AAX DSP subsequently. Will Echo Farm AAX work with Pro Tools 10? Echo Farm AAX is a 64-bit plug-in and thus requires Pro Tools 11 or higher to function. What about Amp Farm? Will you port Amp Farm to AAX, too? Absolutely. We plan to make Amp Farm available for the AAX platform after the release of Echo Farm. At this time, we cannot comment on specifics related to pricing or availability.
