  1. Hail, folks! I'm having a bit of a issue here. First things first: I own a POD HD500X, and a ESP Ltd AX-50 (cheap guitar but do the job for my metalworks). So... I used George L's cables for many years. The thing is, I lost my cables. And actually, they aren't that good as many people say. Got to get brand new cables them. Ernie Ball Braided, the weapon of choice. Ok. So here's the problem... In my country there's ONLY 25ft long cables. That's 7 meters. And I need TWO. One connecting the guitar to the HD500X, and other to connect the HD500X to the amp. Two cables, 50ft long. It's just too much. Actually, who needs that!? But, again, it's the only size for sell in my country - welcome to the third world. So what now? I will obliterate my signal!? I am a metal player, but yeah, I do love blues and other stuff... I'm working on some Eric Johnson's song too. The thing is, some people said that IN THIS CASE it just doesn't matter, because I use digital effects, a processor - therefore the only worry to be concerned is the length of the cable between the GUITAR and the POD. 1- That's true!? Anyone with a solid opinion about it!? Also, some guys said that "you play extreme metal, higain and stuff... Don't worry, your tone will be fine. Let the Stratoguys deal with that". Some said "if you put ACTIVE PICKUPS this wouldn't be a problem, because active pickups kick-lollipop". These stuff... 2- Higain is unnefected by 50ft cable length? I mean, at least no one would notice it? 3- Active pickups does break the rules and keep my tone 100%? Hope you guys can help me. And yeah, I do want that specific cable. Thanks by now!
  2. Hi. I play heavy metal and used to record with Abelton live lite 7. I'm about to buy a new Ux2, bit the new ones only comes with Reason Limited software, and no Riff Works or Abelton. 1) Is Reason Limited abel to record as Abelton? 2) What's the difference between Reason Limited and Reason Adapted? 3) Does Reason Limited allows plugins like Ezdrummer and Isotope Ozone?   3. Hello, I've had the Pod HD500X for a few months now and I'm still not sure whether I'm using it properly. I'm finding that I'm getting quite a bit of feedback out of my amp at a high volume in band rehearsal and live settings. I should say that I'm a very plug-and-play kind of guy. The Pod HD500X is the most complicated piece of equipment that I've ever had to work with and I'm fairly undemanding, so I'm probably making some very elementary mistakes in terms of getting the right balance. A bit more about my set up: Guitar (LTD MH417, EMG 81-7 in the bridge) -> POD HD500X -> Carvin TS100 (tube power amp) -> Line6 4x12 (not sure of the model, I bought it with a Flextone head about 10 years ago, has a tweed front). I've attached my main setting here (we play thrash/death metal), but I have some questions about the switches and outputs. Currently, I have my output set to "Studio/Direct" and my quarter out to "Line". This seems to fly in the face of everything I'm reading, but it seems to be the setting that puts out the most volume and the heaviest sound. Could this be causing a feedback problem? Is it simply too much for the amp to handle? If I should move my output to "Stack Pwr Amp" and my quarter out to "Amp", how difficult would it be to achieve the same sound and volume? If you open the file, you'll notice I have two preamps running with an overdrive. The gain/drive on all three doesn't exceed 40% and I try to keep my treble settings reasonably low enough. There are some extra effects at the end of the chain that I almost always never use except for the reverb. While I'm pretty happy with the sound I'm getting at bedroom volume, if I crank the Carvin to about 1:00 with the band, I start to get feedback. So what exactly is the best balance of settings, gain and volume to avoid feedback at high volumes when playing this kind of metal with the Pod HD500x? Please let me know if the file doesn't work or if I've attached it incorrectly. Many thanks in advance!
