  4. Hi There.. Can someone help me? I have a HD 500, and found a video on youtube. kelly simonz did a cover of "the loner" by gary moore. The patch/tone is downloadable from his website, but i cant get it into my EDIT list. Is it so that i have to purchase more line 6 products to get this sound? Link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_MJQdX7zMA
  5. I really wanted to like the FX100. It has so much potential. I hope they can find a fix for my issue. I play an American Standard Telecaster and from my pedal it goes out to a PA system. I tried many presets and combos. What I find is with minimal effects, my tele sounds more like a badly emulated acoustic than a telecaster. (I have heard this is a common complaint about the Spider line of amps as well that all guitars sound alike.) As I said, I really want to like this pedal. I love the idea behind it, but the guitar needs to come through with its own native tone.
  6. Hey I was wondering if anyone knows of a place or has any mp3s or wavs of guitar tracks that are unprocessed and have no effects on them. The purpose of this is to set up a recording session where i can try out different tones from pod farm on the different tracks to see how they compliment each other or sound in a mix. i would just record some simple stuff myself but i do not play any instruments i only record and im also away from my studio so i dont have my interface box with me so i couldnt record anything even if i could play something. so any information on this subject would be great. ideally id like a full part of a song on separate tracks i.e. drums, two separate guitar parts, and bass, but if there were a place to find even just one unprocessed guitar track thatd be great

    HD500 questions

Alright so Ive had my 500 for a while and I hear so many recordings that sound great with it. Now Im pretty good with equalizing and balancing the lows, mids, and highs. The thing is though, I can't make a great sound like those in the recordings, I mean I've tweaked but its so far out there I know there isn't going to be some magic spot where it comes alive. Point is it sounds like a solid-state not even tube like which I hear in many other videos. Ive even downloaded the tones that I thought were amazing from custom tone and still sounds like a transistor! So is it in the mixing of the recording? If so then how do they have such a realistic live sound? if you can create a great sound with this, whether you know how you came up with it or not I just ask for every little detail you use when making the tone the recording or playing live, thanks.
  8. If I create a tone and publish it, is there a way to modify the published tone so others can see my changes (without changing the tone's name and publishing another)? Or do I have to create new versions of the same tone, e.g 1, 2, 3, by renaming it and publishing again. Alternatively, is there a way of deleting a published tone, so I can republish another with the same name? Best regards, Torgeir
  9. Is there a way to decrease the bass levels? I get way too much bass When I play/record the guitar with the output connected to my PC. I have the bass knob turned all the way down in the pedal AND my guitar. And i still get a little too much of bass.. Any help here? I have an ESP LTD AX-260.
  10. The new AMPLIFi amps seem great for practice or studio use, but I can't see them being used to play live very easily. With a limit of only 4 presets stored in the amp at any time it seems like playing live with it would be difficult and nerve racking. The iOS App is great, but there is some latency when using it to switch presets so I don't think it could be used very easily on stage. I'm surprised that the AMPLIFi amps don't have preset banks like other Line 6 amps. It would be nice if you could store at least 9 banks with 4 presets each to make using the amp live easier. Maybe in AMPLFIi2.
  11. Hello, I have just purchased a Pod HD500x and I love it. I am 21 years old and I've been playing for 7 years. I play live but that's mostly acoustic performances. Unfortunetley my knowledge of music theory doesn't help me in knowledge of amps and audio understanding. I know the basics but I really want to dive in and learn about how to create the tones I want. I can hear it in my head but I am lost on how to recreate it for the most part. I have created some great heavy distortion lead tones that fit my style but I am having trouble trying to recreate the AC/DC sound along with other favorite artists like B.B. King, Santana, and Alice In Chains. I have all the gear for it. I am running my Pod through a Soldano Lucky 13 tube amp and it sounds great! I have a Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty (3 Humbuckers), Gibson Sg, Fender Telecaster, and an Ibanez Hollow Body Artcore. So you can say I totally have a dream setup! I just have no clue what Amp Models to use and how to adjust the settings to dial in that tone. I understand it's all preference but some general Guidelines would help. Feel free to name the amp models on the Pod in your suggestions and specify what you have your settings adjusted to. I realize every amp is different and everyone has their own sound but I just need some general explanations of what amps and settings are good for what. Thank you
  12. What amps/effects/chain would you use in as much detail to make the tone of this strat on the intro.
  13. I have been dabbling around lately,trying...and I stress the word trying....to achieve a lead sound like this http://youtu.be/q9u29BGS0QY Listen to the intro solo to this song, around 20 seconds into it.That is the tone I am trying to get. Has anyone any good ideas on FX to use to get this tone or does anyone have a similar tone they may care to share via customtone? Frankly...I am not having much luck...yet but will persist with it. This is one for the 80s metalheads
  14. I'd like to build a patch for a DT25 and HD500 combo that really maxes out the responsiveness, so that I can use how hard I play on the guitar to balance a gentle clean tone with quite a full distortion for single lines. A bit like Larry Carlton does - where his amp is highly responsive to his playing dynamics. Any suggestions of starting points for amp & other settings? I'm playing a Gibson Midtown Custom by the way which has Burstbuckers (PAF style humbuckers). I do have a JTV-59 but it's a bit unreliable. I'm not really trying to copy Carlton's tone, more wanting to get the most from that technique. Thanks in advance for your ideas...
  15. Hey guys I just started having a problem with my UX1 that I for the life of me cannot figure out. Iv had my UX1 for over a year now, i have never had an issue with it till today, with the snap of a finger its started acting up. I didnt change any settings from what iv been using, its always been updated and whatnot, but today I noticed that my playback while playing seems a little weaker than normal, its very minimal but enough to drive me insane, so once I went to record and listened to the recorded playback I was horrified at the sound. It sounds as if my tone has lost all low end and is nothing but a high pitched fuzz, its very quiet and this is driving me up the wall. Iv tried updating drivers and all that jazz but nothing works. I didnt change any settings with the UX1 or my recording programs. (Use audacity and magix studio) Its almost as if its not getting a good signal but at the same time the real time playback is almost just what its supposed to be like, iv tried different cables and different guitars and nothing. Any help with this is much appreciated, thanks.
  16. I just purchased my DL4 delay pedal and every time I turn it on my tone dies, my volume drops and my high end gets dull as can be. I spent $275 on this pedal and adapter so I would really like some suggestions on how to make it not suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a really nice handmade tube amp and every other pedal sounds amazing through it. thanks for your time.
  17. I got POD Farm a while ago with my UX2, but it has always had a bad sound. It sounds like it's being played through one of those little 9V-battery-powered amps, rather than a professional, high quality amp, even when the volume is turned up. No matter how much I turn up the gain (I've even boosted my treble to the max and cut the low-mids out), it still sounds like it's muffled, and it sounds really bad. Even when I plug the cable into it and it makes the buzzing sound that usually happens, even that sounds muffled. It sounds like I'm plugging it into a $15 interface rather than a professional guitar amplifier. NOTICE: I play different songs on YouTube that have the same settings as I use, and the songs I listen to there have a high-quality tone. So I'm almost certain it's not the speakers. HERE IS MY EQUIPMENT: -MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.8.5) PROCESSOR: 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MEMORY:3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM -Creative Inspire T3300 Speakers (They have a 1/8" input jack that I connect to the "headphones" input on the UX2 using an adapter) -High-quality guitar cable -Agile Interceptor Pro 930 with 30" scale and active pickups -This guitar is HIGH-QUALITY and has a very bright tone, and it should have one on POD Farm, but it doesn't. Is there a reason for the tone sounding really bad? Are there settings on my computer or something that I can change? OR could I upgrade my sound card?
  18. Hello Recently I got a POD HD300 and I can't seem to get ahold of a decent tone for my 6string baritone tuned to Drop E. It's really muddy and undefined,I want a more digital tone, similar to Meshuggah-Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza-Periphery etc. I have a .85 for a low E with on a 27,2'' with an EMG 81. A good example of what I'm after(or similar) is this https://soundcloud.com/thelivingdoorway/frederipoff-thordendal Any preset/info will be gladly appreciated. Thanks a ton and happy new year John
  19. I have a Pod HD Pro set up with my Carvin DCM 200L going into an Orange 4x12 cab and I play pretty heavy metal/high gain type stuff. I'm having an issue with the low end sounding overwhelming or even slightly clipping when I hold a palm muted note. I play an Ibanez RGA8 8 string so naturally there will be a lot of bottom end anyway but it sounds like the tone begins to swell and just overwhelm everything when I hold an open palm mute. I was wondering if its my signal chain or the power amp or the cab or even that's just how the guitar will sound because of the low tuning. Any input will help!
