  1. Hi everyone, I've been using a processor for a while now (9 years), and while it still performs remarkably well in many respects, it's beginning to show its age. I'm aware that some people have moved on to using cab sims, but I've decided to take a different route. I've been charmed by a particular tube amp sound in my processor, and it led me to purchase an Orange AD30HTC. Now, I'm curious about the possibilities of integrating my new tube amp with the processor, and I have a few questions: Is it possible to include the amp in the processor's loop chain if it outputs at 8 or 16 Ohms and 30 Watts? Can the amp's output be used as a line-in for the processor or directly for the guitar without damaging it? Can the processor's output be used as an input to the amp? (This seems likely, but I'd like confirmation.) Is it feasible to use the processor's screamer, distortion, and reverb effects with a USB output, or will this setup not achieve high-quality linear-USB sound? What about adding a cab sim into the mix with Amp? I'm simply looking to record high-quality tube sounds on my computer, not for live performances. Any advice or experiences you've had with combining real amp heads with processors would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  2. Ok so I'm sure you've seen this question before, but I couldn't find anything specific to my needs in the search... I'm thinking about purchasing an LT or Floor (thoughts on this welcome, too) and had a question about using it in different settings. So I've got a Vox AC30 that lives an hour away at my rehearsal space, my band practices once a week so I don't get much time with my amp. I'm thinking about a Helix because I like the idea of having a silent practice tool at home (I have three young kids and no place to play loudly, ever) and a way to create sounds for my band outside of the rehearsal space. Does anyone here have experience working with a Helix and a Tube amp where they are creating presets and shaping their sound remotely from their main source of amplification? How does it work for you? Can you create sounds leveraging the models for your amp at home then remove the amp / cab when you go 4CM with the amp in person? How does it translate? Thanks for any thoughts!
  3. I currently own a DT25 combo and a Pod HD500X which I have connected via the Line6 Link cable. I am thinking of recording some music but the Dt25 is way too loud for my bedroom therefore I cannot mic it in high volume. Of course, if I do not crank it up, I would not get the sound I would want. The LVM is not enough for quality sound since it eliminates the power amp section of the amp. I was thinking of investing on an audio interface like the UX2 to record my music. My plan is to connect my amp to the audio interface through the Direct Out of the amp. If I follow this approach, I could disconnect the amp's connection with its cabinet so I wouldn't get any sound from the amp itself but I would get my sound from the monitors connected to the UX2. So if I have the amp's master volume amp cranked all the way up, I could adjust the volume from on my UX2 according to how I want but my recordings should sound as if it's coming from a cranked tube amp. Essentially, I would like to get the sound of a cranked tube amp sound in my recordings without disturbing my neighbors. Do you think this is a viable approach?
