Overview: For those who have access to a Spider V (MKI or MKII) amp and wish to update the G10T Transmitter, it must be done in the order shown below (first update the amp, then the G10). We strongly suggest updating the amp with the latest version of the Line 6 Updater from a desktop/laptop computer, even though it is possible to update the amp from a mobile device. Update the Spider V Amp Firmware With a Computer First, (for Windows users) download and install the Spider V drivers Go to Line6.com and click on "Support" Select "Downloads" and set the three pulldown windows under "Free Software Downloads" to: [Spider V 60], [Line 6 Drivers], [your PC OS] Click "GO" The page will update with the Line 6 drivers for the Spider V. Click 'GET DOWNLOAD' to download the driver installer to your computer. Log in to your free Line 6 User account (or create a new account) Click on 'ACCEPT AND DOWNLOAD' and follow the instructions to save the driver installer When the installer has been downloaded, double-click on it and follow the instructions to install it in your computer Next, download and install the Line 6 Updater for Spider V Go to Line6.com and click on "Support" Select "Downloads" and set the three pulldown windows under"Free Software Downloads" to: [spider V 30], [Line 6 Updater], [your Mac or PC OS] Click "GO" The page will update with the Line 6 Updater for the Spider V. Once completed, the amp will restart. Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable, then repeat the process for the G10T Transmitter Note: If you experience a failed update or your amp locks up during boot up, you can hold down the Amp and FX buttons to enter Update Mode. Once it's in Update Mode, attempt the update procedure again. II. Update the G10T Firmware with the Spider V Amp Make sure the Spider V amp is still connected to the computer, and that the computer is still connected to the internet Insert the G10T all the way into the Spider's Input jack Ensure that the "SELECT" switch is still engaged with the USB port labeled "Mac/PC". Turn on your Spider amp if it's off. Run the Line 6 Updater program. Sign in to your Line 6 User Account. Click on “Relay G10T” Click the “Update” button next to the latest firmware version. Follow the prompts to begin the update process. Important: Do not turn off or unplug your Spider V amp or computer during the update. The Updater will say the amp is resetting, but take note of the amp's display, as it will continue updating, ultimately showing "Part 1 of 1 100% Updating Transmttr". The amp will reset itself, ending the update process. Below is a detailed rundown of compatibility issues for Line 6 products on a case-by-case basis. Editors: • All currently supported editors work as expected. • The following editors are no longer supported at this time and will not work on Catalina: Line 6 Edit Vyzex Backtrack Utility Updaters • Line 6 Updater works as expected. • Line 6 Monkey is not compatible with macOS 10.15 (Catalina). A solution for Catalina customers to update firmware is in-progress. Drivers • All currently supported drivers and devices work as expected except for the Helix custom driver. • Helix class compliant audio works as expected. • The Helix custom driver (which adds support for additional sample rates) does not yet work correctly. Plug-ins • Currently, Helix Native and POD Farm 2 work as expected on all supported DAWs, except Cubase, as there is no 64-bit VST version of POD Farm 2 for macOS. As DAWs are updated to adopt Apple’s latest requirements and security measures, our plug-ins may need to be updated to continue working with those DAWs. We will work with DAW vendors to update Helix Native and POD Farm 2, but we cannot guarantee that they will not release updates that break our compatibility.
