  1. Hi everybody, hope you can help me. I've been trying to update my Helix LT to the firmware 2.60, but every time I try it says "There is no application set to open the document “Helix_LT_v2_60_0_bundle (8).hxf”." I have already updated to the latest edition of HX Edit and I've tried manually to try and open the document with the HX Edit, but it wont allow it. Any clues to what I should do? (I have a iMac) Kind regards, Simon
  2. I got my kline 6 helix lt in april of 2018 and now (24/02/2018) I wanted to update it for the first time because I kept forgetting it. So i downloaded all the needed software and made a backup, and then i pressed update and it started. after 15 minutes I came back to see how it was going and it said update failure on my pc and helix. I have already tried all the usb ports on my pc, I have turned my helix on and off a couple of times and I have tried to launch my helix in safe mode and reset it (this via the button combinations on the helix). I have also reinstalled the update software again I don't know what to do and I have a couple of gigs coming up for wich I need my Helix
  3. I am trying to update my JTV 89 F using my Helix as the interface through line 6 monkey. I have both the line 6 cable and the quarter inch jack connected to the guitar. Every time I try to update the firmware from 2.21 to 2.23 I am getting the following 2 errors (screenshot attached). Can anyone help on how I can get over this issue? ryi

    Possible bug with HX Effects?

Hey all, Recently, I was noticing some odd behavior with my HX footswitches during live use. If I went to engage an effect by stomping on the footswitch, it would turn on, but after maybe 1-2 seconds, it would bring up the screen that allows you to edit parameters of that selected effect, and I would have to press the MODE/EXIT button to return to the stompbox layout. This would happen intermittently, but eventually, I got fed up and checked to see if I was behind a firmware update, and I was. Without issue, I upgraded both the HX Edit software AND the HX firmware to the latest version. I did not see my specific issue listed on the bug fixes, but I was still hopeful it would resolve my issue. At first, it seemed like the update did the trick, but after a little more fiddling with my setup, a new problem arose, but still quite similar to what was happening before. This time, though, instead of bringing up the screen to edit effect parameters, it acts as if I am soft-touching two effects to engage the "swap footswitches" feature. See the video below, demonstrating the issue. As you can see, I'm not using the soft-touch feature at all - simply turning effects on and off in "stompbox" mode with a normal pressure used in a live setting. My brother also has an HX and I showed him the problem, and we could not replicate the problem with his unit in the same signal chain, same room, same power, etc. Do I have a faulty unit? In the meantime, or regardless, is there some way to disable the soft-touch feature on the HX? Honestly, after using the unit for the past 2-3 months, I have never really used the soft-touch features. Thanks for any advice or support, folks.

both positive and negative values can sometimes cause the Controller Assign menu’s Min Value and Max Value parameter sliders to not reflect the correct value — FIXED HX Effects only: After assigning a footswitch to parameter control via Controller Assign’s FS3 (Learn), relearning a MIDI CC message results in HX Effects automatically applying CC4, regardless of the CC# received — FIXED HX Effects only: Looper (now 6 Switch Looper) Undo function would not undo the most recent overdub — FIXED HX Effects only: While performing a Factory Reset, turning knobs 1-3 could cause Global Settings to appear above Footswitch 2 — FIXED HX Effects only: If a Wah block is changed to a Looper block, the Looper’s Playback parameter is automatically assigned to EXP 2 — FIXED HX Effects only: After clearing three or more Command Center assignments, all saved Command Center snapshot data can be inadvertently cleared — FIXED HX Effects only: In rare cases, duplicate Command Center Instant commands can be transmitted when selecting snapshots — FIXED HX Effects only: When Global Settings > Pedals > EXP 1 Position or EXP 2 Position is set to “Global”, expression position may not always affect parameters globally — FIXED HX Effects only: After saving a preset, HX Effects would sometimes not display the most recently accessed block on a footswitch assigned to multiple blocks — FIXED HX Effects only: When the Tuner output is set to Send 1/2, signal flow audio sent to Send 1/2 can be muted — FIXED HX Effects only: In rare, specific circumstances, Command Center MIDI Bank/Prog and CC values can be inadvertently altered when changing snapshots — FIXED HX Effects only: Assigning 11 (!) parameters to a single controller, copying/pasting the block, and then moving the controller can cause HX Effects to freeze — FIXED HX Effects only: If the Mixer block is moved to Path B, moving the block would cause its parameters above Footswitch 3 to disappear — FIXED HX Effects only: While in the Save Preset menu, touching the TAP/TUNER switch to open the Tempo Panel will reset any recent custom name or save destination — FIXED HX Effects only: In some cases, manually setting a Wah, Volume, or Pitch Wham’s switch assignment can result in odd parameter slider behavior — FIXED HX Effects only: In the Command Center, any Bank/Prog message’s CC00, CC32, and Prog parameters could not contain have a value of 0 — FIXED HX Effects only: If a block has a dual-state parameter assigned to a different footswitch, copying and pasting the block to another switch can fail to display white controller nodes and sometimes may freeze the UI — FIXED HX Effects only: Receiving a MIDI CC68 message does not open and close the Tuner view — FIXED HX Effects only: In some cases, Send 1/2 & Main L/R Pan and Level parameter settings are reflected across preset changes — FIXED HX Effects only: Snapshot names can sometimes fail to appear on the scribble strips — FIXED HX Effects only: EXP 1 and 2 would behave as if it was set to “Per Preset”, even when set to “Global” — FIXED Many other minor bug fixes and optimizations Known Issues As the new HX Reverb models have been tweaked to sound notably “wetter”, any existing user presets that use these models will sound different. Although Helix and HX hardware has the ability to compensate for changes made to models when rebuilding presets (and one of our goals is to rarely if ever cause audible changes to existing user presets), the improvements made to the reverb blocks unfortunately cannot be compensated for Existing user presets containing Helix’s classic Looper block will continue to read “Looper” instead of “6 Switch-Looper” until the model is changed and the preset is re-saved. This is normal and does not affect operation In rare cases, pitch artifacts may be heard on selected delay blocks when the Time parameter is set to Note Sync values higher than 1/2 Triplet
  6. OR do you think they are saving the goodies for one giant update around NAMM? I know some get grilled for asking questions like these, but it's been almost 3 months sine the last update. So I think it's a fair curiosity. I personally would like to see, more than anything, some signal metering input/output & at least a clip indicator on each block in the chain. That is definitely my number 1! Plenty of Ideascale submissions on this. Next in the list would be the expansion of HX reverbs. I think the last update fixed the mono versions wet not being wet enough issue. But I am not sure on that, as I am still on 2.50. I would also love to see more parameters in the HX cabs. Specifically off axis mic positioning. That would be really cool. As far as Amps, I would say the XTC, and more Engl. Other than that I would want more Line6 originals. I realize that the next update will not include all of this. Though hopefully some of this will be, especially my #1. What do you guys think? What would you like to see?
  7. I just received my amplifi 75. Tried updating over bluetooth and update failed. But I cannot factory reset the amplifier, I powered down the amp, pressed down the Master volume button and tone button. Nothing happened. I powered it down again and did the same thing for a minute nothing happened. I even kept pressing them for 5 minutes and nothing happened! Is there a way around this is there something wrong I'm doing??

  10. Hi everyone, I've bought a second hand Flextone III XL, i know it's kinda old now but i hope i can still use Line 6 edit to load custom tones, but the loading bar stops at 5 seconds, and a MIDI timeout error appears. so i spent the night trying to connect my amp to my laptop in order to update the flash memory with line 6 monkey so maybe line 6 edit would recognize it. I looked a lot of threads on this forum, i'm using the M-audio Uno, with the manufacturer's drivers, tried the safe mode Power + A ( then only the A button lights up ), and nothing happens . monkey does recognize my amp, but when i try to update ( with "update selection" and "update from file" ), I choose the second option ( install the new default patches ) it stops at "reading existing patches" then I get the errors : Please, tell me what more can i try, i even tried a hard reset ( A + D + Power ), downloading the 1.0 file and loading it with monkey, nothing works.

See the following link for more information:Power Supply and Amp Power F.A.Q. Q: Is the Pocket POD compatible with any Line 6 or standard MIDI controller? A: No, the Pocket POD is not compatible with any Line 6 or standard MIDI foot controller, as it lacks the CAT 5 or MIDI jacks necessary to connect a controller. Check to make sure you are not plugging a TRS cable into your Pocket POD. 2) Check to ensure that batteries are inserted correctly and the springs are lining up. 3) Try using a supported power supply to see if the unit will power. If the unit powers up with an adaptor, try changing the batteries. Q: My Pocket POD reboots when changing power source while connected via USB? A: Changing the power source of your Pocket POD while connected via USB will cause the unit to reboot and its Class Compliant driver to drop its MIDI ports. It is not recommended you change your Pocket POD power source while connected via USB. Q: Where can I get Vyzex software support? Q: How do I update the flash memory on my Pocket POD?A: Connect your PocketPod Via USB to your computer, then run the Line 6 Monkey application. If your software is out of date (or you want to reflash for trouble shooting purposes), you will want to update using the following directions. 1) Select the "flash memory" to highlight (in blue), then select "update selection". 2) If Monkey asks you to register your gear, you can select "remind me later". 3) Select "I Accept" for the software agreement and select "continue". 4) Follow the directions, then select "OK" 5) Select "yes" to continue. 6) Wait for the flash memory to update and be installed. 7) Turn your Pocket POD Off, then on, then select "OK". 8) When your unit has been successfully updated Line 6 Monkey will look like this: Q: My update stopped in the middle of the process? A: During the Pocket POD update using the Line 6 Monkey software on a Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit) machine, the update may stop and will not continue. This may occur on certain USB ports. This issue can be verified if the progress bar stops partway through the update. Note: If the update does stop, the system will not respond to requests to shutdown the computer, even after force quitting monkey. After disconnecting the Pocket POD, the system can be shutdown. The Pocket POD remains in boot mode after this occurs. Reconnecting to Monkey and re-installing the firmware update does recover the Pocket POD. Please make sure to test the Pocket POD on every USB port on your computer while troubleshooting this issue. Completely remove any USB hubs, even if not in use. PocketPOD Presets.pdf

Hello everyone. So I went to update my Firehawk 1500 and it crashed during a bluetooth update. Now I am getting ERR UNKNOWN coming up. I then went to reset it to factory resettings (holding volume and tap when powering up) and it just says updating. It has been updating for several hours. I then decided to download the driver onto my Windows (10) and do the update from there. It starts the latest update then gives me an error. As of now my Firehawk is unusable...any tips or previous experiences with this?? Thanks everyone!!

    G70 Update Error

G70 will not update. Progress bar never gets beyond 80%, sometimes it times out with an error at 0% and everything in between. "Firmware Update Failed An error has ocurred. Please try again." Done this probably 50 times, downloaded the update locally and tried updating from there. No luck, no help. Any ideas?

  15. Apple’s policy is that if you acquire an app, free or not, the app should be available to download to any of your personal devices. However, as the app is updated, it's requirements may change and prevent fresh downloads on older devices. Example: If you attempt to download AMPLIFi Remote to an old device, and the minimum iOS version is 11 or above, you’ll get an installation error: "This application requires iOS version 11 or later. You must update to iOS 11 in order to use this application." To get AMPLIFi Remote onto the older device, you'd have to first acquire the app via iTunes on a computer, or via the App Store on a device that is running the required iOS version, then download the app on the older device. Note that iPhone-only apps won't appear on an iPad, and vice versa. For our example, we’ll use iTunes. Use the search box for the name of your application. Select the app in the search results. Click the “Buy” or “Get” button to acquire the app (you don't have to download it). Use your older iOS device and search for the exact app in the App Store or click on the “Purchased” icon in the lower navigation bar. When you locate the app, click the “Install” button. After you click “Install”, you’ll see a popup indicating that there is an older version of the app available for download. Click “Download” to install the last compatible version.

HD Edit 2.26 collection of known issues

Hello. I am sure I have read about some real bugs of HD Edit in the past, so we should take the time and ask Line6 to fix them. This thread should be used as a collection to provide all needed changes in one list. So, at the end we should have a list of errors to be fixt and (additional) also some realistic (!) wishes (probably never will be fulfilled). First error I remember was something with mixer volume, which would not be saved in some instances (maybe only if the POD is connected via USB?). Maybe someone can specify this error more detailed? My personal biggest (realistic) wish for an update of HD Edit would be a tab-functionality to jump to the next knob or parameter and a much more straight visualisation of the chosen (or mouse-over) effect. So here is the list (I would like to keep updated) Bugs take a look at the system defaults and set them to the most common and flawless values. get rid of "(Code 8000000a) Operation timed out". add the software-ability to fix the hardware knobs, as those seem to move by themself through vibrations. expression-pedal related multi-platform bug crashes Edit, if you extensively use wah for more than a couple of minutes (Details 1, 2, 3). DEP lack of displayed knob-values (missing value-display is a known bug. Feature introduced with Ver. 2.25). Error when saving mixer volume (only HD is connected via USB) >>> ideascale I can recall encountering a bug where one side of the mixer, the right channel, occasionally went silent for some reason, and the solution was to just move the volume slider, if using HD Edit. strange general behaviors when HD is connected via USB (should be explainded more detailed). f.e. changes in FX and Amps that are performed over footswitch or expression pedal are not instantly updated/visible (some times not at all) on the edit software. There is no way to know if changes (for example, volume) are actually taking place. Communication between the software and the unit must be improved. I found after editing multiple patches and then quitting the POD HD 500 EDIT you have to restart your pedal to reread the newly edited/loaded patches or they won't play right. the delay settings are not properly transferred from the editor to the device afaik there might be some unfixed issues with some amps in the model packs. Wishes tab-functionality to jump to the next knob or parameter add an overload Indicator in the HD500 signal chain add a vertical scrollbar to allow native resolution of netbooks much more straight visualisation of the chosen (or mouse-over) effect I want to be able to see value of knobs before turning any. Its hard to tell EXACTLY what % your knob is on. The dot that represents true button placement does not get you close enough. I want to edit by the numbers not a grainy LCD screen. Often I need to edit just a couple numbers. add some more mic angles for the SM57 and some valuable mics add some kind of Global EQ patch-wise as an effect-block or DEP Dual Output Modes add API-functions or let the HD Edit go Open Source
  17. I would recommend backing up your earlier version if possible before updating. I downloaded the update and don't like it for the following reasons: 1) GUI is completely different - way too modern, Ableton? Prefer the effects and amps to look 'real' But more importantly....... 2) You cannot switch effects of by tapping them. You have to select the effect first, then select on/off from new window. So there's no 'stomp' switch on the effects. So that's 2 actions rather than one. Compare with Tonestack where I can turn multiple effects on/off with one press. Apart from the Audio Energy beam there is little difference. I had no problems with the old interface despite using it on an iPad mini and I'm not very good generally with touch screens. Plus point - you can change buffer size inside the app.
  18. Just picked up an Amplifi FX100 and trying to run the remote app (the whole reason I bought it) on my iPad 2, which is running the maximum iOS of 9.3.5, but the installer tells me it needs iOS 10?? It's just a simple interface, right? So how come it won't run on a slightly older OS from like only 2 years ago?? Am I missing something? I'll be kind of peeved if I've bought this Amplifi FX100 to use with my iPad only to find it can't run the remote software....?? Would an older version of the software work??

    Improper update

I may have messed up my 2.50 update. During update it says something about updating to Helix edit to 2.51 and making a complete backup from it prior to the 2.50 update. I made a mistake and backed up the unit from the Helix 2.31 editor. Now when I try to reinstall my backup, it says "no compatible files found"... although, all of my presets are still there. In most of my effects in lists mono, like the reverb category, only 5 items show... glitz, gandymede, searchlights, plateaux and doubletank, the same with the stereo cat, only the same 5 items, glitz, gandymede, searchlights, plateaux and doubletank the legacy list under all categories of effects is quite long... Is this how it's supposed to be ??? Are the legacy effects still stereo ? Is this how your's looks ??? If it's messed up, is there a way to correct this ? Mike C

    Getting a new Helix

Hi All, I've finally gone and bought a Line 6 Helix, which i'm picking up tomorrow with a Yamaha DBR15 speaker. In preparation for the equipment tomorrow i've been downloading any updates required for the software and noticed it was at 2.30 for the Helix and wondered do I need to download all the previous updates before installing the 2.30 or can I just download 2.30 and receive all of the FX and Amps from the previous updates at the same time? Sorry for possibly such a simple question, but i'm eager to get everything installed straight away and get playing! :) Thank you in advance! PhenJ

Helix Models you wish they would add...

I've had my Helix for a short while and am loving the sound! But I find myself missing a few of the effect models from my old HD 500. Anybody else feel this way? So, I thought I'd ask; what models do you wish they would add in upcoming fimware updates (hopefully they look over these things)? I'm wishing they would put the boost/comp back; I'm just not getting the push out of the teletronix....and I wish they would put the Memory Man analog mod/delay on that they had on the hd500....the Line 6 version sounds like a flanger to me. So, if the DID look at these forums, and you COULD tell them what you wanted.....what would it be?
  22. Hi, I recieived my AMPLIFi 75 amp yesterday and went about updating the firmware on it last night. After a good deal of frustation (The PC app kept failing to update) I managed to update it via my Mac but now I can't connect my android device, the bluetooth connects fine and the app is clearly seeing something as it says that the firmaware isn't up-to-date and so I can't us the app to make changes. I've checked on the Mac and it shows the amp firmware as definately being 2.6 and the phone app is too. The phone I am using is the Nexus 6P. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Latest Helix update 2.30

I just updated Helix and everything went fine. However, I noticed the new Helix Editor updated with a new shortcut and icon but my old Helix editor shortcut is still on my desktop also. Is there a reason for this? Am I ok to delete the old HD editor? just wondering... thanks
  25. I have an POD XT which when plugged into Monkey via USB, the software stated I needed up upgrade the Flash to 3.1. I clicked to update but the process seemed to take an extrodinary long time to complete and during the process, I noted that the screen of the Pod had 'Error Code 02' dispalyed. I reset the Pod as requested but as soon as the screen turned on, I got 'ERROR CODE 02'. I tried all the buttons, tried turning dials and nothing had no effect. On research, I found that Error Code 02 relates to an issue with the Flash Memory. It seems to be a common issue that Monkey updating the Pod can corrupt the Flash, making the Pod useless. I tried putting the Pod in safe mode using the 'Save' / 'Edit' keys which did nothing. I tried safe mode using the most left black square button, again nothing. I tried the second black square button which put the Pod into another safe mode which checked the memory, this test passed. On the Monkey, the Flash was greyed out and I couldn't update it. It recognised the Pod connected via USB but couldn't establish the connection. I tried different USB cables, different USB slots, even another power supply and got nothing but the Error Code 02 on the screen. ** SOLUTION ** On a side line building up my rig, I had purchased a second hand Edirol UM-1SX which is an old fashioned Midi USB interface box, which I was going to use with my keyboard. I'd also just purchased a couple of brand new Roland Midi Cables. Once I setup the Edirol UM-1SX with my computer, the Pod XT was recognised by Monkey. I set this up by NOT using the USB cable but just connecting the Pod via the Midi Cables via the UM-1SX. Just an important point with MIDI cables, Computer Out = Pod In and Computer In = Pod Out. Now the Pod was connected to the Computer, Flash was able to update via Midi and installed to the latest Flash 3.1. Once installed and turned the Pod off and on again, I disconnected the Midi cables and connected the Pod via the USB to use Line 6 Edit. From here, no problems in editing and installing my tones. Happy days, broken Pod to working Pod. Hope this helps.
