  1. Deutsche Version Version française Please go through the following checklist before updating the flash memory of your Variax guitar to ensure the update completes successfully: Ensure that the interface you are using to update the Variax with (Workbench Interface, PODxt Live/Pro, POD X3 Live/Pro, POD HD500/HD Pro, Vetta II) is NOT connected to the computer through a USB hub. Make sure to connect the interface into a USB port directly into the computer, especially into the back of a desktop. If problems persist, make sure to test all of the USB ports on the computer. Avoid plugging into USB ports found on keyboards, monitors, or laptop docks. [*]When using the Workbench Interface to update or edit the Variax guitar, ensure that a charged battery is in the guitar and a 1/4" TS mono cable is inserted into the guitar's output jack, or that the stereo TRS cable is plugged into the Variax providing power from the XPS power supply to power on the guitar. [*]On a James Tyler Variax guitar, ensure that the Volume knob on the guitar is NOT set to the '0' position as it will put the guitar into Power Save Mode. Make sure that the Volume knob is set higher than 0 when updating or editing the JTV guitar. [*]Please use the VDI Cable that comes with the JTV guitar when updating the flash memory on that guitar. Avoid using VDI or CAT5 cables longer than 10 ft. in length when updating any Variax guitar. [*]During the update, select 'NO' when asked if you would like to keep the presets on the guitar. Use the Workbench software to back up your guitar presets before updating if you would like to keep them. [*]Close out any other applications running on your computer before updating the Variax guitar. Q: How do I update or re-install the flash memory on my Variax Electric 300, 500, 600, 700, James Tyler Variax, and Shuriken guitars? A: These instruments can only be returned to factory reset by reinstalling the flash memory. You will need to connect your Variax to the workbench software using your Variax enabled hardware (i.e. Variax Hardware interface, POD XT/X3 Live, POD X3 Pro, VETTA with VDI, or POD HD500), then you will have to connect your interface to your computer via USB. Once the guitar and interface are connected to the computer, you will need to run Line 6 Monkey. See the following link for more information on connecting your device to your computer and installing Line 6 Monkey: Line 6 Monkey Installation and F.A.Q. USB Connectivity with Line 6 Devices Once you have Monkey installed and your computer is recognizing the connection, see the screen shots for the reflash procedure: 1) Once you run Line 6 Monkey, Monkey may ask you to register. If you do not wish to register (or have already registered) select "remind me later". 2) If you want to reinstall the factory presets (or update the firmware), select "Flash Memory" the select "Reinstall Latest" 3) Select "OK" to agree to the software license 4) Select "yes" or "no" If you want to keep the patches on the instrument 5) Select "Yes" to continue with the update. Do not disconnect the variax during the update. 6) Line 6 Monkey will reinitialize the device and update the flash memory. You can watch the progress on the blue bar on the right side of Monkey. 7) Once the update is complete you will need to select "OK" to continue. Variax Bass 700/705 Reflash Factory defaults must be restored one at a time. Select the Model you wish to normalize, the place the blend and two tone controls in the detent (center) position. Now press the Model select pot down until the indicator light stops flashing. The Model should now be restored to factory settings. Use this procedure for any model you want to restore to the factory setting. The Variax bass series can also be "reflashed" using the procedure for the Variax electric guitars described above.
  2. Hi, I've never had a an issue with any update until now. I backed up everything as suggested and the update failed. "Boot Failure. Entered Update Mode." I'm stuck. I uninstalled and re-installed all Line 6 Software and tried to restart my Helix. It shows 3.10 as the version number, but once POST finished, I get the Boot Failure message. Any advice?

  5. Hi everybody, here’s a quick test of all new 3.10 firmware features; no speech, just play! Ciao a tutti, ho fatto un breve test di tutte le novità del firmware 3.10; no dialoghi, solo suoni! https://youtu.be/VM5l3GAgu6A
  6. Hi there! I'm an owner of Helix rack, controler and mission pedal. That works great. To complement this, I purchased a year ago Helix Native to have that also. Presently, it's at version 1.82. I wanted to update it to a higher version, possibly 3.10 if I may, but for the life of me I can not find anywhere a button or a menu where I can update the version already installed on my laptop. How is it done if it can be done at all? Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
  7. Important Information About the G10T Transmitter · The recommended charging temperature range of the G10T Transmitter is specified as 50° F to 86° F (10° C to 30° C). · The recommended operating temperature range of the G10T transmitter is specified as 32° F to 122° F (0° C to 50° C). · Line 6 recommends charging the G10T transmitter at least every 6 months, based on best practices for lithium-ion batteries. · The functionality for Yamaha THR10II Wireless and THR30II Wireless users to update the G10T to version 1.06 firmware is also available. · For G10T transmitters on firmware version 1.06, LED behavior is now as follows: G10T Transmitter (Docked in G10/G10S Receiver, POD Go Wireless, Spider V amp or THR10II/THR30II/THR30IIA Wireless amp) LED State Condition Red (slow flash) Charging, less than 30 minutes battery time remaining * Green (slow flash) Charging, more than 30 minutes battery time remaining * Green (solid) Fully charged † Dim Red/Pink, may turn off G10T is not docked properly – Try un-docking and re-docking 5-10 times Red (three quick flashes, repeating) G10T charging has stopped due to exceeding supported temperature. Charging will resume after 5 minutes at 50° F to 86° F (10° C to 30° C) ‡ Orange (solid) Docked and connected to Mac or PC, firmware update in progress Off Receiver not powered (G10T enters sleep mode after 4 minutes if receiver power is disconnected) G10T Transmitter (Connected to Instrument) LED State Condition Green (solid) Transmitting, more than 30 minutes battery time remaining Red (slow flash) Transmitting, less than 30 minutes battery time remaining Off Connected to an instrument but not enough battery to transmit § or Removed from instrument * All values stated for amount of battery time remaining are approximate, and the exact amount of battery time remaining when an LED state is indicated may vary slightly between charges. When the G10T flashes red, it may have up to 60 minutes of battery time remaining. † If the G10T reaches a full charge (solid green) and remains docked, the G10T LED may eventually flash green again. This is expected behavior as the G10T may discharge slightly after reaching a full charge, and its LED may then flash green until it again reaches a full charge. ‡ If the charging lockout indication continues for over 10 minutes, please stop charging and try again in a cooler environment condition. § When the G10T has insufficient power to transmit, its LED may indicate a pattern of five quick red flashes when connected to an instrument and audio is detected. This is expected behavior. 8. G10T/G10TII LED States: Transmitter Green when in guitar: On Red flashing when in guitar: Less than 30 minutes battery life left Green when docked: Fully charged Green flashing when docked: Charging Red flashing when docked: Less than 30 minutes battery life left and charging Receiver White solid: On and connected to G10 transmitter OR charging docked G10 transmitter White flashing: No signal from G10 transmitter Red flashing: Less than 30 minutes battery life left on a transmitter that is in use and transmitting, and not for a transmitter that is docked/charging. It is possible that the receiver's LED halo will flash red under other conditions, such as if the transmitter is not properly docked. Q: What is different between the original G10T and the new G10TII transmitters? A: The most obvious difference may be that the original G10T is black in color, while the new G10TII is dark grey. The new G10TII also incorporates new battery management technology, resulting in up to 7 hours of runtime and 170 hours of standby time, compared with the original G10T on the latest version 1.06 firmware, with up to 6 hours of runtime and 150 hours of standby time. Additionally, the new G10TII is electrically compatible with instruments using active pickups and preamps, without the need for an adapter. Q: My G10T/G10TII transmitter was fully charged, but my G10S is now at a single red LED and I have not played for very long. What happened? A: If, after a full charge, the LEDs drop to a single red LED sooner than expected, the transmitter may continue to operate for a number of hours, depending on the condition of the battery. While variation exists between batteries, a red blinking LED will generally indicate 30 minutes or less of play time. Q. Why is my docked transmitter flashing green when I know it's fully charged? A. Once a transmitter reaches full charge when docked, the transmitter will begin to discharge at a trickle. Eventually, the transmitter will dip down to a threshold at which it charges again. At that point, the LED may begin to flash, indicating charging. This could be noticeable for a few seconds, or potentially longer, depending on the condition of the battery. Just as there will be variation from unit to unit with regard to battery performance, you may observe the interval at which that flashing occurs may vary from unit to unit. Transmitters that have been through many cycles or that have problematic batteries could have a diminished performance and might now be much closer to dipping down into that threshold when they trickle upon full charge, which could make that flashing LED state occur more frequently, where it might be more readily observable in those cases. Q: I inserted the transmitter into the receiver and let it charge for many hours, but the transmitter never fully charged. The transmitter and the receiver is constantly blinking red. Why? A: In some cases, the transmitter could stand to be updated using the Line 6 Updater program found at www.Line6.com/software. Please make sure you are using the latest version of Line 6 Updater. Otherwise, there's a chance that the transmitter was not seated completely into the receiver to start the charging process. Once the transmitter is correctly seated in the receiver, the receiver's LED halo will be a solid white, and the transmitter LED will flash green until fully charged, at which point the transmitter LED will be solid green. Please see the images below for examples. Here is a video that illustrates LED statuses: Q: How long does it take to charge the battery? A: On average, a new transmitter with its battery in a discharged state has given the following results when tested: 15 minutes of charging gives at least 30 minutes of run time 30 minutes of charging gives nearly 1 hours of run time 3 hours of charging (full charge) gives approximately 6 hours of run time for G10T, or 7 hours of run time for G10TII All rechargeable batteries gradually lose capacity, so eventually the run times will decrease. Q: Should I leave my fully-charged G10 transmitter in the receiver? A: The unit is designed for the transmitter to be plugged into the receiver to stay charged. Think of this much like you would a cordless phone. Always keep it docked if you can for good battery life. Not being docked will not damage the battery nor accelerate drainage. Q: What is the lifespan of the battery? A: After 300 full charging cycles, expect the battery to gradually lose capacity, the amount of which varies. Please keep in mind that there are many factors that can affect these numbers, such as temperature, humidity, etc. but not enough to significantly shorten the life span of the battery. Q: Does the G10T/G10TII transmitter fit all guitars? A: We have designed the G10 and G10TII transmitters to fit into almost any guitar. However, we anticipate that there will be some rare cases where the transmitter does not fit into a given guitar. If the G10 or G10TII transmitter is inserted into your guitar and the transmitter's actuator pin is not engaged, the transmitter will not turn on, the LED on the transmitter will not light up, and no signal is processed. We have found that a workaround to this issue is to use a mono-to-mono (TS-TS) Male to Female adaptor or cable. See this article for more details: Relay G10 Guitar Compatibility (Fit/Electronics) Q: Does the G10/G10TII transmitter work with older Variax guitars? A: Yes, but the fit is not exact. Please see this article for more details: Relay G10 compatibility with older Variax models Q: Does the G10 transmitter work with guitars that use active electronics? A: In some rare cases, the guitar's active electronics are wired with inverse polarity. In this scenario, the original G10TII transmitter's electronics can go into a protection mode that keeps the system from being functional. This is evidenced by no output from the receiver, even though the transmitter's light is on. The new G10TII is designed to be electrically compatible with instruments using active pickups and preamps, without the need for an adapter. Additionally, certain instruments may present a level of noise when their active circuitry is engaged and the transmitter is connected. We have found that in most cases, a workaround to this issue is to use a mono-to-mono (TS-TS) Male to Female adaptor or cable. See this article for more details: Relay G10 Guitar Compatibility (Fit/Electronics) Q: Does the G10/G10S system work with instruments other than guitar? A: We developed and tested G10 and G10Sfor guitar and bass, but in theory, these products will work with any instrument-level source. This is not to say that it will work with any instrument you try it with, based on the above guitar-compatibility answers, but we expect that most will find success, so you are welcome to try. Q: If you leave the transmitter plugged into a guitar, does it still use up battery life even if it's not being used? A: After 4 minutes of silence, the transmitter will go into sleep mode, and will come back on when audio is passed through it again. Q: I have a guitar with active pick-ups. Can I leave the transmitter plugged in without the guitar battery dying? A: The experience should not be any different than leaving a guitar cable plugged into the guitar, meaning the G10T or G10TII will shut off in four minutes if it doesn't detect a signal. We suggest turning your guitar down to 0 when not in use, as some guitars, even those without active pick-ups, can produce enough hum or noise to trick the transmitter into staying turned on. Note that with certain guitars that have active electronics, leaving a cable plugged in might drain the guitar's battery, so the same may happen with a G10T or G10TII left in the guitar. Q: What is the maximum input / output level for the Relay G10 and G10S? A: The G10T/G10TII transmitter's maximum input level is 6.5 Vpp (= 9.5 dBu). The outputs on the receivers are at unity, so they are the same. Q: What is the dynamic range for the Relay G10 and G10S? A: Both products feature a dynamic range of greater than 110 dBA when used with either the G10T or G10TII transmitter. Q: What is the frequency response for the Relay G10 and G10S? A: Both products have a response of 10 Hz - 20 kHz when used with either the G10T or G10TII transmitter. Q: What is the amount of latency for the Relay G10 and G10S? A: Both products have approximately 2.8 milliseconds of latency from input to output, when used with either the G10T or G10TII transmitter. Q: What is the input impedance for the G10T/G10TII? A: Greater than 1 MΩ for both transmitters. Q: What are the specs on the provided Relay G10 and G10S power supplies? A: For Relay G10: 5V 1.0A output, input of 100-240v. The Relay G10S includes the DC-1g, which is a 9V DC 0.5A output, input of 100-240v. Q: Will phantom power harm the G10 or G10S receiver? A: No, the receivers will not be harmed by phantom power. Q: At what temperatures can I charge my G10T/G10TII transmitter? A: The recommended charging temperature range of the G10T and G10TII transmitters is specified as 50° F to 86° F (10° C to 30° C). Q: At what temperatures can I operate my G10T/G10TII transmitter? A: The recommended operating temperature range of the G10T and G10TII transmitters is specified as 32° F to 122° F (0° C to 50° C). Q: What are the specs on the provided Relay G10 Series power supply? A: 5V 1.0A output, input of 100-240v Q: Will phantom power harm the G10 receiver? A: No, the G10 receiver will not be harmed by phantom power. Q: Where can I purchase a Relay G10 Series Wireless System or replacement/extra Relay G10 transmitters (G10T)? A: You can order them from any authorized dealer. Q: What type of cable do I need between my guitar & G10T/G10TII transmitter? A: None; it plugs directly into your guitar. Q: Can I use both the 1/4" output and the XLR output at the same time? A: Yes, they can both be used simultaneously. Q: What Cable Tone length is the G10/G10S set to? A: G10's Cable Tone is set to 10 feet on the 1/4" output only. The XLR output is full frequency range. These settings are not configurable. For the G10S, Cable Tone is switchable between Off (full frequency), 10 feet, and 30 feet. Q: What is the range of the G10/G10S? A: The G10 is 50 feet, line of sight, as local conditions allow. The G10S is 130 feet. Line of sight: As with our other wireless gear, be sure to have a visible line of sight with the receiver. To get the best performance out of the G10 or G10S, do not obstruct the receiver with other gear or electronics. Q: How does G10/G10S/G10T/G10TII interact with other wireless devices? A: If you are using G10/G10S/G10T/G10TII in a setup with other 2.4 GHz wireless devices, please make sure to switch on all other wireless devices first, allow them to initialize and set channels, then dock the G10T or G10TII transmitter into the receiver for at least 15 seconds so the system can select a free channel. When using several G10 or G10S systems, please start by docking the first transmitter in the receiver, wait 15 seconds, undock it and plug it into your instrument. Please make sure that it is on (green LED on the transmitter). Repeat this process with the subsequent units. Many Line 6 wireless devices can be set to different RF modes. All Line 6 wireless units in a setup need to utilize the same RF mode to avoid problems. Your G10/G10S/G10T/G10TII unit is always set to RF2, so make sure that any other Line 6 wireless devices in your setup are set to RF 2 mode. G70/75 units use RF3, which can coexist with RF2 for G10/G10S/G10T/G10TII , so long as you avoid using the same channel between them. Here's an article that shows how to switch RF modes: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/live-sound/relay-digital-wireless/rf1rf2-mode-switching-frequencies-r130 Q: Is the Relay G10/G10S transmitter (G10T/G10TII) compatible with the X2 receiver (or vice versa)? A: Both systems run in completely different frequency ranges so they are not compatible with each other. However, X2 and Relay units can be used on the same stage (along with any other analog wireless systems) with no problems. Q: Does USB 3.0 create interference in the 2.4GHz frequency range? A : USB 3.0 computer cables and peripherals, including hard drives, are known to emit radio frequency interference throughout the 2.4GHz band, which results in reduced range and/or performance for any 2.4GHz device in its proximity (including wireless keyboard or mouse, WiFi, etc.). We recommend placing any digital wireless receivers at least two meters away from the USB 3.0 device and its cabling. Below is a link to a study by Intel regarding this interference. http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/io/universal-serial-bus/usb3-frequency-interference-paper.html Q: How do I register my Relay G10/G10S/G10T/G10TII System? A: You can register on your account: Gear Registration Dimensions - G10 Receiver: H 3.5"; W 4"; L 4" Transmitter: 2" long after inserted into instrument Total boxed weight: 3 lbs. Dimensions - G10S Receiver: H 2"; W 3.5"; L 5" Transmitter: 2" long after inserted into instrument Total boxed weight: 4 lbs.
  9. Corrective Action required immediately for Relay G10, Relay G10S, and Relay G10T wireless products purchased prior to March 2020. Several instances of extreme overheating and a risk of fire presented by the Relay G10T wireless transmitter have been reported since the product was introduced in 2016. All instances of overheating reportedly occurred during charging. In March 2020, Line 6 issued a “recall-to-repair” with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall to repair is designed to prevent overheating and the risk of fire, and simply requires users to install a firmware update. It takes about five minutes to complete this process. Many users have still not updated their units so this Safety Alert is intended to raise awareness of the issue and urge owners who have not yet done so to be sure they have the latest firmware version. The latest G10T firmware version is 1.06. Please be sure to update your transmitter if you are not on this latest version. Additionally, and not a safety matter, Line 6 has determined that certain Relay G10T units with the earlier versions of the firmware may not charge optimally within warm environments. The latest firmware version also corrects this issue. Units sold after March 2020 were already updated to the latest version and require no update. However, if you own a Relay G10 purchased before then, and have not updated the firmware, please immediately update your unit to prevent the risk of overheating. Step-by-step instructions are provided through the links below. INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING G10 & G10S INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING G10T VIA SPIDER V AMPS INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING G10T VIA YAMAHA THR-II Additionally, the Line 6 Relay G10T USB Charging Cable (an optional accessory not included with Relay G10, Relay G10S, or Relay G10T), which may be used to connect a G10T transmitter to a powered USB port, can also contribute to extreme overheating in the transmitter. The Relay G10T USB Charging Cable cannot be repaired and the concern cannot be remedied by a firmware update to other Relay G10 products. If you purchased a Relay G10T USB Charging Cable, please discontinue using it. Owners of the cable who provide satisfactory proof of its destruction will receive a refund. 10. I'm sorry about this question, i might just miss something, but I've read the update guide and it didn't really make it clear to me. Right now I have Helix LT at 2.30. As title says should i update it straight to 3.00 or extra steps should be taken? The reason I ask is because when i had Helix LT back in a day at 2.30 the latest firmware was 2.82. To install this one i had to update to 2.71 first because somehow 2.80 wasn't installing above 2.30. So my update steps were 2.30 -> 2.71 -> 2.80 -> 2.82. I don't really wanna brick Helix or something, so just to make sure I made a topic here. Sorry once again.
  11. Hi- Just updated from 2.82 to 3.01 for Helix floor. All seems to have gone smoothly, but instructions ("Step Tres") say to restore from the backup that was created prior to the update. Everything seems to be OK. Is this restore from backup mandatory for a reason I don't know about or haven't been able to determine? Wouldn't want to retrograde factory settings, for example. Thanks for your input.
  12. i have updated my line 6 UX1 to the latest driver 4.2.7.7 from 4.2.7.6 but when i go to "Line 6 audio-MIDI devices settings" i cannot change the bit depth or buffer size. when i select another size or bit rate, it just reverts back to default. the previous update did not do this. i have uninstalled all line 6 drivers and updated to the new one. i had no luck so i reverted back to the previous update. i would like to update this thing! please help!
  13. I tried to update to 3.01. The HX edit is at 3.0, I signed up, back up my presets, and then I clicked update. HX Edit is stuck on the Update Device screen and is stuck with the phrase at the bottom saying "initializing firmware installation..." It's been like this for hours, and the helix floor screen says "update message server started". HX Edit won't let me quit out either because it says I need to wait until the update is finished. Please help. I don't want to risk bricking my Helix. I'm on OSx 19.15.7 Catalina

  15. So I’m trying to update my helix and I downloaded the firmware on hx edit but for some reason , my helix isn’t updating. I’m stuck on “firmware downloaded successfully”. The display screen isn’t changing to the update stage. Does anyone know how to fix this issue ?
  16. Hello everyone, Just tried to update my Helix LT from 2.92 to 3.0 with HX edit 3.0 without success, the update stopped and HX Edit asked to turn off and on the Helix. https://postimg.cc/gallery/gLLdZFp I tried to put it in test mode (turn on the helix with switch 3 and 4), safe mode, factory reset... nothing works (see image link). I am running a 2020 MacBook Pro 13", with Core i7/16Go DDR4. Any suggestions ? I am getting a bit preoccupied as I had to reset it once but this time even the factory reset doesn't work. Thank you very much for your help
  17. With a few exceptions, macOS 10.15 (Catalina) is supported by our currently active applications and drivers. Below is a detailed rundown of compatibility issues for Line 6 products on a case-by-case basis. If you run into any problems or have a question for us, please reach out via the Contacts page (https://line6.com/company/contact/). Editors: • All currently supported editors work as expected. • The following editors are no longer supported at this time and will not work on Catalina: Line 6 Edit Vyzex Backtrack Utility Updaters • Line 6 Updater works as expected. • Line 6 Monkey is not compatible with macOS 10.15 (Catalina). A solution for Catalina customers to update firmware is in-progress. Drivers • All currently supported drivers and devices work as expected except for the Helix custom driver. • Helix class compliant audio works as expected. • The Helix custom driver (which adds support for additional sample rates) does not yet work correctly. Plug-ins • Currently, Helix Native and POD Farm 2 work as expected on all supported DAWs, except Cubase, as there is no 64-bit VST version of POD Farm 2 for macOS. As DAWs are updated to adopt Apple’s latest requirements and security measures, our plug-ins may need to be updated to continue working with those DAWs. We will work with DAW vendors to update Helix Native and POD Farm 2, but we cannot guarantee that they will not release updates that break our compatibility. If you run into trouble installing our software under Catalina, please see this article: If you've updated to Catalina and you're having trouble with the software that we list in the article as working, it's likely you have a 32-bit version of those programs installed. Please uninstall them and then download the latest version of them, which will be 64-bit. We also have an article that describes how to run older OS versions in order to use discontinued software.
  18. So I've been a Helix user for awhile now, and I've honestly never done a forum before, but I have had some pipe dreams for the helix since I've owned it, and thought maybe I'd just ask to see if it could happen. Amp Suggestions: -Milkman (I've always wanted to own a Milkman amp, some sort of old school, bluesy, creamy type tone. I know you can just edit a Fender Deluxe to get a similar style, but there really is something special about these Milkman amps, and if it could be recreated in the helix, it would be like amp heaven for me) More practical suggestions: -Graphical Display for Eq (I've seen this suggested a lot, so I really think it should be considered in an update. I work as a sound engineer, so I am aware that you need to use your ears, but sometimes having a visual representation just adds to the experience of setting up a rig. It's nice to "see" what I'm doing as I'm hearing it) -Amp and effects Display (Literally, the only thing that is missing on the helix to make it feel more like a luxury item is just an update for the graphical interface. I'm not talking much, just some sort of pop up that displays a picture of the pedal or amp you're using. You can already kinda see them in the HX edit program. So it's not like it would involve making any new art, I would just like to see a picture of what I'm using. It creates vibe, and sometimes it helps me remember the name of what I'm using, since these are all "made up" amps. It would really make the difference with the helix being a luxury item). Buggs or Problems with Programming -Having an option to turn off the auto-increase feature (Sometimes when I'm trying to set something on the helix, like a certain gain level on a pedal, I turn the knob really fast, and it automatically jumps to way past where I wanted it to go. It gets annoying as I either have to turn the knob really carefully and slowly, or just keep going back and forth pass the value that I actually want. It's super frustrating. It be nice to turn off that feature, so it wouldn't matter how fast I turned the knob, the values would never automatically jump like 50 units.) -Saving Effects/amps: Values/names (Lastly, something that so many people have asked for, and it really wouldn't be difficult to do or take up much more space on the device. Being able to save presets for effects. Like if I always dial in a certain set up for an amp, but I want to use it on a different rig, I could save a preset of that particular amp/effect and name it whatever I wanted. It could also help, if I set up an amp to try to replicated a different amp that's not modeled on the helix, I could save "my own amp" without having to bug you guys about adding a new effect or amp. I could make one of the fuzzes sound like a russian version of the big muff pi and call it "big muff pi-r" and always be able to find it in my effects..
  19. Hi. I'm having trouble with my Helix Control. When i booted my rack unit up yesterday, the control also booted up in LCD Test mode. It switches between this and Update mode but never reverts back to presets. The rack is recognising this as having not been updated. I clicked update but it does nothing and just keep repeating, asking to update. I can't seem to get it out of the test mode so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Picture for reference
  20. Hi folks, I bought my Helix in 2017 and despite playing with it for a while, I had to move countries and it had been sleeping in my office for a long time now. Yesterday I decided to pick it up again and do some playing/recording. Its firmware was version 2.21 then and I upgraded it to 2.92 using the latest Helix Edit app. It all went well, but I'm surprised it went "too well", actually: the instructions mentioned my user presets would be erased during the upgrade, but they didn't! I can still find and use them after the upgrade, which included the big overhaul from version 2.80. The fact that I could already find those presets held me back from importing my backup after the upgrade. So the question is: should I factory reset the Helix after the update, and THEN import the backup? By doing so, is there a risk of the new factory presets of the current firmware be replaced by the old ones of the backup, or only my user presets will be reapplied? By the way, my old "Helix" app is still there lingering on my PC alongside the new "Helix Edit" app. Can I safely uninstall the "Helix" app and only use the "Helix Edit" app from now on? And if I do need to factory reset, can I confirm that it's by turning it on while pressing switches 9 and 10? Sorry if all of this is repeated, but I couldn't find a direct answer to these questions because I'm a noob. Best regards to all.
