  1. I have an POD XT which when plugged into Monkey via USB, the software stated I needed up upgrade the Flash to 3.1. I clicked to update but the process seemed to take an extrodinary long time to complete and during the process, I noted that the screen of the Pod had 'Error Code 02' dispalyed. I reset the Pod as requested but as soon as the screen turned on, I got 'ERROR CODE 02'. I tried all the buttons, tried turning dials and nothing had no effect. On research, I found that Error Code 02 relates to an issue with the Flash Memory. It seems to be a common issue that Monkey updating the Pod can corrupt the Flash, making the Pod useless. I tried putting the Pod in safe mode using the 'Save' / 'Edit' keys which did nothing. I tried safe mode using the most left black square button, again nothing. I tried the second black square button which put the Pod into another safe mode which checked the memory, this test passed. On the Monkey, the Flash was greyed out and I couldn't update it. It recognised the Pod connected via USB but couldn't establish the connection. I tried different USB cables, different USB slots, even another power supply and got nothing but the Error Code 02 on the screen. ** SOLUTION ** On a side line building up my rig, I had purchased a second hand Edirol UM-1SX which is an old fashioned Midi USB interface box, which I was going to use with my keyboard. I'd also just purchased a couple of brand new Roland Midi Cables. Once I setup the Edirol UM-1SX with my computer, the Pod XT was recognised by Monkey. I set this up by NOT using the USB cable but just connecting the Pod via the Midi Cables via the UM-1SX. Just an important point with MIDI cables, Computer Out = Pod In and Computer In = Pod Out. Now the Pod was connected to the Computer, Flash was able to update via Midi and installed to the latest Flash 3.1. Once installed and turned the Pod off and on again, I disconnected the Midi cables and connected the Pod via the USB to use Line 6 Edit. From here, no problems in editing and installing my tones. Happy days, broken Pod to working Pod. Hope this helps.
  2. Hello everyone! I am wondering, if there is a way to use usb-interface while editing my patches in pod hd. Please, take a look on the scheme I drew: https://2.downloader.disk.yandex.ru/preview/d5273195fd5c327879d31dc73dd54ca87673a70ce179525cba8f0271ed650d34/inf/TBwbN1hIDpW1khBkar4de-IFiC4WnK6FcoTIEK6bD5Q5fXm9B-fDG1cFLLJN5lx8lC1mHcivs-ZJVtKMFE8eXw%3D%3D?uid=33198966&filename=scheme.png&disposition=inline&hash=&limit=0&content_type=image%2Fpng&tknv=v2&size=1280x776 I want my pc apps not to use POD as soundcard except POD's editing software. So my scenario is simple. I want to play a guitar while playing some songs in any player app. I can edit patches to create a sound I like. But for master volume control I use my usb-interface (just because it stands on the desk, it is more comfortable than to bend to the floor where POD is). When I'm done playing, I just turn the POD off and continue browsing/playinggames/watchingporn using usb-interface. So, again, I need to connect POD's USB to PC only for editing patches, while all the playback is performed by usb-interface. Sorry for my english and my explanation. If there is any simpler solution, I would be glad to hear it. Thank you!

    USB Recording

Is recording into a DAW using the Amplifi USB connection even a viable option for getting a good, quality sound out of your guitar? If you've found it to be a good option... what are some of the tricks for optimizing the sound quality? Thanks!
  4. HD 500X Global EQ does not affect USB recording? Today I accidentally discovered that whatever settings I did not do, it does not affect the recording in my DAW. Is it just me having such a problem or so conceived? In the headphones all okay, EQ works.
  5. I am running a POD HD500X and the Line 6 Monkey is telling me I have a USB Firmware update from v1.01 to 1.04. When I click Update Selection I get the following error: Update failed. 0xfd from Server - Internal Server Error Make sure the cables are still connected and try again. --- Both my computer and device are authorized and I can connect to my device successfully. Any thoughts?
  6. My USB keeps disconecting from my computer. Sound from the computer to Helix goes out from the audio interface. The control panel says "Helix not connected" and I lose control of the Helix from the App, The only fix is to reboot the helix. I have tried 4 different USB cables and 3 different laptops but the problem persists. It seems to be electrical with the Helix. It will sometimes happen just hitting one of the foot switches. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone have a solution?
  7. Hello, I have a stereo signal path that I would like to collapse to mono. When I use the 1/4 output, the signal gets collapsed automatically. However, I want the output to be set to USB and the only option I have is to make output stereo - USB 1/2, USB 3/4 etc. How can I select the output to be just USB 1, and send a collapsed mono signal through it?
  8. Has anyone run up against this issue?... I lost my Variax USB Interface Device and contacted Line 6. Was told they do not sell the device directly, and gave me links to dealer sites. All dealer sites are selling the Interface Device ONLY along with the Workbench software... for a "mere" $100. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!? Come on Line 6, you make a wonderful product, but this is ridiculous! Anyone else run in to this or similar issue? Anyone know where I can buy just the USB Interface Device... FOR A REASONABLE PRICE??
  9. I've got my Helix LT connected via the USB port into my pc. usually when I have music playing it goes via my Audioquest Dragonfly DAC to my stereo speakers and all computer sounds/audio/video like Youtube Facebook etc would go through the stereo. But when I hook up the Helix via the USB port it re-directs all of my music and everything else through my Helix into my FRFR Speakers which could be set much louder (guitar volume) than I had my Stereo set for. Has anyone else experienced this? and if so, how can I stop all audio from bypassing my stereo and going through my FRFR's? I will say i'm going through Windows 10 (not a fan). when I had Win7 the audio output controls were much easier to find and control

  11. Hi, One question, In my computer with helix selected as my midi/audio interface, what if I connect a USB controller like a novation launch pad, can I control parameter on helix? I have done this via regular midi straight from the controller to helix and works perfect. All new controllers that comes with lots of knobs (which are cooler) are USB only, they are not including the regular MIDI, those with regular USB/MIDI ports are expensive compared to all new lines of USB controllers. Can I control my helix with a USB controller connect through my computer with helix as my interface? Unfortunately my USB controller is damaged, so I cannot run the test, and I need to get a new controller with more knobs... Hope anyone can help, Cheers!
  12. Hi, What are the specs and where can I order a cable to connect the G70 via USB to a G-SYSTEM back panel? it's a DC 9V 50mA connection. thanks! steve.
  13. Hi mates: anyone can help me with this issue, pls? I got mu FT II HD connected to my computer via MIDI (in & out) to a USB port. I run the Edit software but this does not recognize my amp. I select my amp manually but it seems that it is not fully recognized, and I do doubt that I could load or edit any effect or edit any bank. I would like if any one can explain me if I do something wrong. Thank you.
  14. My apologies if this is asked all the time. I tried to resolve this by reading through the threads. I can't really make heads or tails as to which update is current, and what steps need to be followed to get this working correctly. I appear to have the latest firmware for the Helix installed according to the boot up screen and what I could sift through on here. Yesterday I unboxed my Helix rack and have a MacBook Pro (latest model) that I connected it to via USB -- to USB/USBC dongle--Macbook Pro USBC port. Worked ok, and recognized the MacBook Pro just fine. Today it isn't recognized at all. I checked my System Preferences and it does not show up in the sound options either. My Audio connection for the Helix is to a pair of monitors via XLR connections to each. So my setup isn't too complex and should be pretty straight forward? The other issue is I downloaded the editor (I think?) and got a column only? It shows the preset names, and says Export and Import Impulses and that is about all it does. I had seen other youtube videos where it shows the preset information in addition and you can make adjustments inside the preset, it basically mirrors the screen on the rack. Is there a different editor I should be using? A firmware update I need?
  15. Hi, I'm wondering if there's any way to record from the amplifi to an Android device; either by USB or Bluetooth. Thanks for any advice.
  16. This is my current setup: Stage Piano & other instruments ->[analog XLR] -> Digital Mixer ->[s/PDIF]-> Helix ->[uSB]-> PC Essentially I am using my Helix as an audio interface (obviously on top of guitar FX, guitar input is not shown there but it's connected straight to the helix). I am NOT using the S/PDIF input as a guitar input, the guitar is connected to the Helix 1/4 jack. Essentially I am using the S/PDIF input as an extra input that I just want to route to another USB pair (say 3/4). Now, I can make all this work within a given preset, by setting the routing as follows: (Guitar IN) -> Amp & FX Chain -> (Multi out, USB 1/2) (S/PDIF IN) -> (No FX on this chain) -> (USB 3/4) This works great, there is only a major drawback: I have to repeat this pattern in all my presets, which is extremely tedious and inconvenient. What I would like instead is a global routing assignment (similar to what is possible to do today for the analog headphones out in the global settings). Regardless of the current preset I would like S/PDIF in to always be routed to USB 3/4 (or 5/6). Clearly I would be totally fine if doing that would remove the S/PDIF from the list of inputs for a preset (there is already precent for this when using the Variax input). I think that, in the current firmware, this is just not possible (but I am happy to be proven wrong). So I think this is more a feature request for the next firmware. Line 6 folks, does it sound reasonable?
  17. Hey guys! I'm running an X3 Live pedalboard when I'm playing live. I've done a little bit research already, but am a little confused. I'm trying setup changing my patches via MIDI from Ableton or Logic, preferably Ableton in a live situation. I've brought a USB MIDI cable (attached a picture), but not sure if I'm doing it wrong or even if I have the right sort of cable. Any help or tips would be really appreciated! Thanks
  18. Look that pretty FBV 3... easily the most appealing MIDI foot controller out there. But they have again missed the opportunity to have the best MIDI foot controller by omitting MIDI DIN connections. You still can get a MIDI-USB to MIDI-DIN converter as the Kenton MIDI USB Host MKII but... at 125€. A very expensive price for a device that only does one thing. But .. what would have been the supplement in the price of the FBV3 if already included MIDI DIN In/Out? Probably just a few dollars. At least they are considering adding the possibility of changing the color of the LEDs, based on the proposal I made in ideascale. But it bothers me a lot to have to spend 125 € extra on a fcking USB converter due to a bad design decision, which in addition they have already committed many times, again and again, with all those prior FBVs. All this could also be applied to the Helix controller, of course. Here the case is even more blatant, because it can not even be used as a USB MIDI controller. Guys, have you seen the sad panorama regarding MIDI foot controllers? Old models such as the Boss FC-300 or the Yamaha MFC10, expensive and limited. Or other very expensive artifacts offered by esoteric brands... When you have the one (or two) that could be the best MIDI foot controler in the market, only if you add MIDI DIN inputs and outputs. You also missed the IOS connectivity by ommiting a direct standard 9V AC connector. (as the ipad cannot feed enough juice to the FBV3 thru USB) Why, Line 6, WHY? What strange reasoning has led you to omit such things?
  19. I am wondering if the Helix will route through MIDI commands from its hardware MIDI connectors over USB to an iPad? I already have the Helix hooked up to an iPad Mini 2 via USB (and the camera connection adapter), and using MIDI from Helix to control the iPad works great. However, I would like more footswitches. I would like to hook up an additional MIDI foot controller to the Helix's MIDI ports, and have those commands passed through the Helix over USB to the iPad to control various apps. Is this possible? Trying to see if this will work before I shell out the cash for a controller. Thanks!
  20. Hi, I had a problem many people complain about and few get answered. My Pocket POD worked perfectly on my desktop, but on the laptop it did not. Every time I connected the USB to any laptop port the POD worked for a few seconds to a minute, then suddenly shutdown and rebooted. I tweaked USB power settings, I changed out multiple USB cables. I moved to different ports. Sometimes everything seemed to be resolved only to have it do a sudden reboot once again. By chance while googling various phrases to find a solution I randomly discovered that a wireless mouse may be interfering with MIDI. I changed my wireless mouse to a wired mouse and the problem was solved.
  21. Hi everyone.I am using a A&H firewire mixer and I wish to be able to control my helix seperately from other media in my PC. 0) When i switch the helix on everything that I play on my pc(backing tracks/you/tube etc etc) comes back through my channel on mixer assigned for helix.I totally understand the logic that the helix is acting as a soundcard etc. I have playback for all other stuff on PC(Sonar included)coming through and back through different channels. My question is can I just have the helix coming through 2 channels and not taking over the pc sounds also? Many Thanks
  22. Hey, I connected Helix via USB+camera connection kit to my ipad and the Quantiloop (ver 2) looper app. When doing that, the buffer size parameter on quantiloop is stuck at buffer size 128 (not a problem to change to 256, 512, 1024 while not connected to helix). When I record a track in quantiloop like this, I can send the midi commands from helix to the app on the ipad without any problems, but I get the recorded sound back with clicks/pops... and I think it has to do with the buffer size... This is annoying, but except for that quantiloop looks like a cool app! (BTW - no problem when using Loopy HD in a similar way...)
  23. Hello guys, Please advise: I've ordered Amplifi TT and it should be arriving soon. Now I'm wondering what else I might need: The first question is: will it work as audio interface to output audio to speakers when connected to MacBook via usb? And the second question is: I'm about to buy M-Audio BX8 D2 speakers that as far as I understand have balanced xlr and abalancned/unbalanced 1/4" inputs. So what are my best options to connect these speakers to Amplifi tt? Amplifi manual does not state if 1/4 inch main outs are balanced. I would presume they are, but just to be sure what cables to buy. Thank you for your help.
  24. I'm using the Multi-output to USB and I notice that my dry signal is always coming through on the right channel. Even when my volume pedal is at 0% and my XLR outs are quiet, the dry signal still comes in over USB. Has anyone else observed this on their Macs? I've tried both custom and factory patches, and they both have this issue.
  25. Hi, I'm new to this Pod game but I'm still having problems with USB timeouts when HD500x Edit is synchronising patches. It can fail at any % along the way. I've tried it on two PCs and with a cable in or out of the jacks in case it's an earthing issue. Am I missing something? Thanks Craig
