  2. Hi folks, So, I just picked up a used Studio GX a few days back and love it so far but have a question. When setting it up I was plugging it's USB cable into one of the USB ports on the back of my computer and the computer suddenly shut down! I unplugged it turned the computer back on and tried twice more and the same thing happened BOTH times, then I turned it back on and plugged the GX's USB cable into one of the two front USB ports on my machine, works great with NO perceivable Latency so I'm ok with using it on the front BUT what could be the problem with plugging into the back port? ANY ideas, any at all?
  3. Just wanted to report in as a new AmplifiTT user. I'm actually quite happy with the device thus far, but one big issue I'm having is with nonexistent USB connectivity, as I plan to to do extensive recording. Not a single driver set has worked, even with the new Line 6 Amplifi PC-based utility. I simply receive the "USB Device Not Recognized" after connecting the device following a driver installation, and the Line 6 software shows a "No Amplifi Devices were detected." message This is a brand-new USB cable. The most current software driver on the Line 6 site simply do not work. Here is a listing of my platform: Win7 Ultimate 64-bit, latest updates installed consistently 16GB RAM 2600K @4.35GHz 256 GB SSD, 5TB spindle storage Asus Sabertooth Z77 motherboard with most recent BIOS update. Attempting to connect to a known-good USB port simply never works. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Is this a known issue with AmplifiTT? Is an update coming that might possibly address this? Thank you! Rich Grace
  4. I went to our local store for repair of my broken USB port. they changed it with new one. when i got home, any computer in the house cannot recognize the device. i've been searching the net but still no solution for this. help? note: i tried my friend's hd500 and it worked just fine.
  5. Hi everyone I've been looking for a comprehensive answer to this all over the Internet and somehow just cannot find a guide that would explain things from start to finish. The question is: What do you do to achieve good sound when you connect a Line 6 POD HD (500, in my case) to a PC, using USB? I've connected mine, installed Line 6 Monkey, made sure all software is up-to-date, set Studio/Direct output mode on the POD, set the POD as a soundcard (both for output and recording), but the sound is far from one would expect. Here's a sample: http://www.filedropper.com/line6directusbsample I'm not an expert in recording or sound engineering - probably like most people who buy a POD and would like to have decent sound when hooking it up to a PC.
  6. I need to utilize the iPad app, I tried recording to a USB but ran out of space after recording the inputs and main mix for about 1:45 hours. It was a 16gb card What is the biggest we card that the mixer will take? I currently use the usb to connect to a wired network through an apple lan adapter and it works great Is it possible to hook up a wifi USB adapter and a usb hard drive to record to or is a large sd card the only option with wifi?
  7. Just as the title says, I'm running into this problem. When I connect my x3 Live via usb, my pc prompts that it doesn't recognize the x3. I've downloaded the latest Line6 Monkey.
  8. My guitar sounds fine going into Ableton live 9 via USB. However on playback it is distorted. I can see where the signal seems to be blowing it out, but no matter what i try it seems to do it. I turn my send down, i have the pod set to studio mode, i turn the volume down on the pod itself via the volume nob and no good. Ideas? This is driving me nuts.
  9. Hello, I want to purchase new long usb cable for connecting my UX2 to my computer. I found on internet a Cable Usb Male A Male B but it's written that the B plug isn't compatible with 2.0 USB because it's a 3.0 USB cable. So no problem with the A plug because my PC is compatible USB 3.0, but I wonder if the UX2 is also compatible USB 3.0. Moreover I have the same question with my controller M-AUDIO Keystation 69 es if anyone ever used it... Did anyone have the answer ? PS : I'm french, sorry for my english, I do my best !
  10. Hello everyone I purchased a line 6 pod hd pro about a week ago and I love the tones you can get out of it the only problem is that when it's connected to my computer via usb it gives me this really annoying noise every 3 minutes or so. I attached a file of the clean tone so you can hear how it sounds. Did anyone have this problem, or does anyone have an idea on how to fix this? Cheers! line6problem.mp3
  11. Q: If the AMPLIFi product works as a sound card through USB, what would be the way for connecting a pair of studio monitors to do the mixing with? How does the IO on AMPLIFi with USB recording enabled work? Is it a 2-in/2-out? If so, does AMPLIFi act as the 2-out monitor? A: The AMPLIFi amp becomes your sound card when using USB to record, so while you're recording using an amp, it's easiest to monitor computer playback through the amp – it really does sound great. You could always use the headphone outs to get a direct signal into studio monitors via a mixing board or other solution, but the intent is to use the amp for monitoring – at lease while you are recording. Once you are done recording, you can can mix using whatever setup you like. For AMPLIFi TT or AMPLIFi FX100, you would just connect monitors to the main outs on the units. Q: What bit depth and sampling rate can you use when recording with the AMPLIFi series? A: The AMPLIFi series can record in 24bit with sampling rates from 44.1k up to 96k on Windows and in 24bit with sampling rates of only 48k on MAC OSX. When using the AMPLIFi series for operating system audio you can adjust these within Control Panel on Windows and System Preferences on MAC OSX. When using the AMPLIFi series within a DAW, you can adjust these within the Audio Preferences/Options of the DAW. Q: What operating systems are the AMPLIFi series USB audio drivers compatible with? A: Our Windows ASIO USB audio driver is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8 and can be downloaded from our software HERE. The AMPLIFi series is CoreAudio compatible on MAC OSX 10.7 and above, therefore does not require the installation of any additional drivers.
  12. Hello, Trying to connect via USB my new AMPLIFI TT to my Computer (Dell XPS, Windows XP). The USB drivers are not found, my system searches for CtrlPipe and MsgPipe. Any clue where I can find these and how to install them? Thanks! -Patrick
  13. Hello World! I recently upgraded from a Spider IV 75 to a used Vetta II. I only play to entertain myself at home, which is why I didn't throw down the money for a Fractal AXE-FX. All is well except a couple of bugs that I was hoping you could help sort out. I'm assuming certain things are user error. 1. I was flipping through the factory presets, I'd find an interesting preset, attempt to turn off the effects one by one and the amp would either revert back to original settings or the effect wouldn't turn off at all. In the long run this isn't too important as I'll end up just setting up my own tones. I was just worried that this was indicative of some sort of issue. 2. When I turn on the amp with the FBV Shortboard plugged in, the volume pedal always seems to need resetting (just backed off to zero and back up). 3. When researching to connect to the Line6 Monkey software, I've seen that m-audio uno is the only way to go. However, there's no drivers available for Windows 8.1. Has anyone had any success on this front? Thanks for any input.
  14. Hey all, first poster here, I'm part of the Strat- Talk community but now I need your help!!! A friend of mine bought her son a POD XT some years back along with a Classic Vibe Strat having seen some reviews on Strat-Talk and various websites about. She'd seen a lot of praise on both and went for it, he was 13 at the time but left everything to rot for a few years. She gave me the POD XT a week ago, great product. I've been using it through my fender amp but I now want to use it as an interface but after downloading Line 6 Monkey and getting the drivers through Monkey it still shows up as Not Connected and No drivers installed. I'm going through Mac OS 10.6.8 No matter what I do I cant get the thing to show up in monkey or my laptop. What should I do, I have no problem resetting the software on my POD. Any insight is much appreciated. FYI she lost the original box and installation discs. Thanks guys Strat-O-Holic
  15. The HW/SW details: PowerMac G5 1.8 GHz DP/4GB RAM Mac OS X 10.5.8 PodXT Live info screen displays: v 3.01 / USB v1.12 / ESN 01278564 Line 6 Edit v 3.0.1 Line 6 Monkey v 1.32 Brand new USB cable, tested, known to work with Printer & Scanner. All USB ports work fine with every device I’ve tested. I purchased my Pod XT Live used, several months ago. I’ve tested it with guitar amps and headphones, and it seems to function properly. It’s in perfect condition, save for a few small paint scuffs on the corners and edges of the housing. The retirement age gent I bought it from said he’s never had it out of the house, and I believe him. There’s not even any visible wear on the footswitches or the CC pedal. Unit seems virtually new. After connecting the Pod XT Live to my PowerMac and launching Line 6 Edit, the software does not recognize that the Pod is connected, telling me it is “offline.†Nothing I do in Configuration seems to get them to handshake. I’ve connected directly to the front and back USB ports on my G5. I’ve disconnected all devices except for my mouse and keyboard (which are both wired) Help files in Line 6 Edit suggest that I run Line 6 Monkey to make sure I’m fully up-to-date, but even when I apply the same username and password which allows me access to the Line 6 website and this Forum, a floating alert window appears telling me that: My rebuttals to the Alert message: • I am ALWAYS connected to the internet with a robust, fast cable connection. • I have no system-wide popup blockers, or malware utilities running. • Just for good measure, I disabled popup blockers & AdBlock Plus in my browsers • (not addressed except on the License Manager FAQ page...No anonymizing apps in use) I perused the Line 6 forums & support pages and followed suggestions to download the Line 6 License Manager; after some trial and error I discovered that v 1.0.4 is the most current which will install on PPC architecture. It was only after I installed it and logged in (this time with success, I got no alerts about a failure to connect to the internet) that a message was displayed in the License Manager app that told me: Sooo...what installation or troubleshooting procedure am I missing here? BTW...the following message on the following page http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/computer-based-recording/computer-audio-set-up-and-troubleshooting/usb-compatibility-with-line-6-devices-r342 is a HUGE engineering FAIL: ------------------------------------------ If you have tried all available USB ports on your computer and have either no device recognition or poor audio quality (clicks-pops), you will want to consider purchasing a PCI USB 2.0 card to connect your Line 6 USB audio interface. ------------------------------------------ Thanks in advance for pointing me toward any solutions...I champing at the bit to drive this thing around in Apple’s Logic!
  16. Is it possible to get an unprocessed signal out of the HD500X USB port? I'm thinking about purchasing the HD500X, but I still have Amplitube 3 on my Mac and would still like to use it. If at all possible I would like to get a clean signal out of the USB port to feed into Amplitube 3 I have been looking at the Fender Mustang Floor and to get a clean signal out of USB you choose the pre-amp only as your amp. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  17. Hello everybody, For Xmas, i bought a new cable called USB to Midi (USB2MIDI) with 1 usb male, a small device (converting usb to midi) and 2 midi plug (IN and OUT) like this one : LogiLink Cable USB MIDIhttp://www.amazon.fr/LogiLink-C%C3%A2ble-USB-MIDI-pour/dp/B000XRI3CC and this cable works fine with some software like Reaper, Guitar Pro or MIDI-OX : i can record commands from pod 2.0 with Reaper for instance, or send commands BUT i can't open Line 6 Edit to edit/save/import/export my own effects 1 - I can see other posts with same kind of problem : can't connect to line 6 Edit with LogiLink cable --> M-Audio recommended ok fine but i don't really want to buy another cable 2 - I have already tested my cable with MIDI-OX : seem to work fine : input & output are ok, with Reaper too : i can record when i change something on the pod, then, i can receive what i record previously 3 - My old computer with MIDI /GAME port and old midi cables (no USB) works fine with my POD 2.0, so the pod 2.0 is ok 4 - I have the latest version of Line 6 Edit & Java up to date too... I have also tried some older version of Line 6 Edit just in case ... 5 - Help me please :-) i can see the talented people here ! 6 - I'm french but i can understand English if it's simple :-)
  18. Hi folks, Probably just me being stupid but I cannot get license manager to locate my new Pod GX. It can find my laptop and has authorised this. My laptop knows the GX is connected but license manager can't find it. I've tried disabling my anti virus and rescanning but no luck. Any thoughts? Cheers, Dave
  19. Hey guys, no idea if this is a stupid question or not, but i have seen videos of people running their Axe-fx's through cubase and having cubase change the presets for them automatically on a click track sorta thing. Now, my question is Is it possible to do the same thing with Pro Tools and a Pod Hd Pro X? Also is there a way to record into pro tools using a usb from the pod? Thanks
  20. Hello, I've recently bought a Flextone III XL. I'd like to deep edit some presets and bought a generic usb - midi cable. It seems that the cable recognizes both the usb port and the midi interface. However Line 6 Edit and Line 6 Monkey don't recognize the Flextone. I tried in two computers with Windows XP and Windows Vista with the same result. I think I've read all the topics concerning to this issue and I've installed L6 Edit with and without Java. Any trick or advice? Thanks and regards
  21. Hey guys, I've had my 500X for quite some time now, and am still having issues. When recording on my MacBook, I get a terrible buzzing noise, almost feedback, in my DAW. Whether it's garageband or Reaper. Here's the first video I did with it, you can hear the noise. I'm recording via USB. My cover of FaceDown The actual song for sound comparison The noise is very distinctive.. Almost uncatchable. But the strange thing is, is when I use my acoustic, it's silk smooth. Just like glass. But with an electric, whether it's my schecter, or Gibson LP, it's got that god awful noise. Honestly, I'm almost thinking about sending it to Line 6 and seeing whether they can fix it or not. Yeah, I made a few mistakes. Lol Thanks guys.
  22. Hello There, I haven't been able to connect my POD XT to my Mac using the USB cable. Tried using Monkey and it doesn't recognize the drivers. They download from the server, and install, but after the computer restarts it's doesn't see the drivers. The screenshot shows the Line 6 Monkey. Tried different USB cables, different versions of drivers and different versions of the monkey software. Please help me out!
  23. Hi guys, My recently aquired Jtv-59 won`t connect with the Usb Interface. I get the flashing red light on the VDI side of the interface. This is what I have checked: The battery is charged (i get the green leds flashing once, when I put in the compartment) I have a regular jack plugged in to the guitar as well as the VDI cable . The Firmware in the Usb Interface is 1.03 , the newest - though strangely, only my macbook will recognize what firmware is on it. When I connect to my Mac Mini it cannot see if it is up-to-date, but it will see the interface itself) I have not tried the guitar with a POD, since I only have the Desktop HD and I don`t think it supports it? (I did plug it into the cat5 connector on it, but no reaction,...) One question: When I press the modelling-knob on the guitar - should I see some light go on? I see no reaction when I press on them, perhaps the variax brain is not on? Any advice greatly appreciated! Thomas
  24. Hi there Apologies for this very simple, but I am just starting out with this stuff!! I have a guitar, a windows laptop, a POD HD500X. I would like to record a solo over a backing track that I have on mp3 and I have no idea which software I need to do this. I have worked out how to USB the guitar signal from my POD into the laptop so that works, but I dont know how to do the actual recording and layering of any tracks, etc. I tried some software called Stagelight, but it just stopped working so does anyone know anything else I can try? I am a massive beginner so simplicity is key for me!! Many Thanks to anyone who can help. Phil
  25. I use Cubase to record guitar via POD HD500. I want to connect POD by USB and have ability to listen to a backing track from Winamp. Correct me if I'm wrong: 1. There's no way to send multiple audio sources to an audio card if you use ASIO. Which means if you connect POD via USB, you cannot hear guitar sound sent through Cubase (first source) and backing track from Winamp (second source). 2. You can, however, connect POD via Line In to an audio card and listen to both. Input signal from Line In is mixed internally by an audio card with signal from Windows kxmixer. ASIO in that case is not needed. Now a question: 3. If I have two audio cards in my PC, can I process signal from POD USB by first card, daisy chain both cards (Line Out to Line In) and then mix resulting signal on the second card and send output signal to speakers? This essentially means that Windows will have to send POD signal to first card and kxmixer signal to the second. I don't know if it's even possible. I'll probably need some signal routing software to accomplish that. Thoughts?
