  1. Hi, I've been messing for two days trying to get the usb output from my computer to work at the same time as my 4CM setup. I have an EVH5150 6L6 in 4CM. I can control the output volume and gain on the amp and get the Helix effects and everything works properly. However, I want to jam along youtube, spotify, Guitar Pro or my Daw but I can't get the sound out if I'm in 4CM. If i hit the effects switch of the EVH, it works but I have no more guitar output. And if its off, then I get my guitar back. I want both. Is there any way yo achieve that? Regards,
  2. Probably a bit specialised but... Background I use HX edit with Helix on 2.82 by sending the USB data over a local area network using VirtualHere ( which in their words allows "USB devices to be used remotely over a network just as if they were locally connected" https://www.virtualhere.com/). I use Windows 10 as the client and a raspberry PI for the server. It allows me to sit at the PC playing guitar while the Helix is the other side of the room. The USB connection to Helix appears and HX Edit uses it. Question Since updating to 2.8 HX Edit keeps disconnecting so I wonder if anyone else has managed to find a way of connecting to the Helix USB over a network? USB servers such as Lindy (https://www.lindy.co.uk/usb-c4/4-port-usb-2-0-gigabit-network-server-p8641) might work but I don't really want to spend £80 finding it doesn't! Cheers
  3. I have recently purchased Helix Native in its 1.82 version and upgraded my Helix LT to 2.82. I was hoping to control Helix Native directly from my Helix LT, (switch Helix native presets from footswitches, use EXP pedal....) but i did not find any indication that this feature was existing. Can somebody tell me if this is possible ? or will it be possible soon ?
  4. Hey guys :) I recently noticed that I´ve got different volume levels of the D.I. signal going through USB channel 5 straight into my DAW. My guitar goes mono straight into the input of the HX Stomp. The device is connected to my PC in order to function as the interface. While recording I´m trying to track the main signal as well as the D.I. signal simultaneously for potential re-amping later. According to the users manual USB input 5 and 6 pick up the D.I-signal right behind the input jack so I can´t figure out why there is a volume difference of ~20dB between different patches when the same guitar is connected straight into the HX with the same cable. Is there any global or local setting in the HX Stomp affecting the volume on USB channel 5/6? You´ll find two different patches the problem occurs in attached to this post. I´m happy about any help I can get :) Best regards, Leopold RecRedFeathMain.hlx Synth Blink.hlx
  5. Hey all, first post so I hope I'm doing this right. I've recently joined the cult of Linux, and am looking to make primarily electronic music through Ubuntu 18.04. I know that some more common audio interfaces have plug-and-play compatibility, but I'm interested in connecting my Helix directly to my DAW (Ardour) via its USB cable. At the time of posting this I haven't actually started messing with configuring this on my own, but figured I should crowdsource experiences others may have had: has anyone had any experience/luck getting the Helix to work with any Linux distro in this way? I tried looking in the Knowledge Base but didn't find any relevant information for this situation.
  6. Hi All, I created a patch for Linux Kernel 5.3 to enable HX stomp/Helix I need some help to confirm that is working properly. In particular would be really helpful if you can try the kernel 5.3 and confirm the USB ID for Helix devices case USB_ID(0x0E41, 0x4242): /* Line6 Helix Rack */ case USB_ID(0x0E41, 0x4244): /* Line6 Helix LT */ case USB_ID(0x0E41, 0x4246): /* Line6 HX-Stomp */ case USB_ID(0x0E41, 0x424a): /* Line6 Helix LT - firmware >= 2.8 */ This is displayed in dmesg when the device is discovered (open dmesg -w and then plug the device) [ 322.404503] usb 1-6: new high-speed USB device number 13 using xhci_hcd [ 322.531804] usb 1-6: New USB device found, idVendor=0e41, idProduct=4246, bcdDevice= 2.00 [ 322.531806] usb 1-6: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=3, SerialNumber=2 [ 322.531806] usb 1-6: Product: HX Stomp [ 322.531807] usb 1-6: Manufacturer: LINE 6 [ 322.531808] usb 1-6: SerialNumber: 3021888 [ 322.535789] usb 1-6: parse_audio_format_rates_v2v3(): unable to retrieve number of sample rates (clock 16) [ 322.535907] usb 1-6: parse_audio_format_rates_v2v3(): unable to retrieve number of sample rates (clock 16) In particular if the device is supported the last two lines will show as unable to retrieve number of sample rates set it to default as 48Khz What I need is a list of helix like devices and the list of idVendor, IdProduct. Can you help me? Also for Line6 did the new update to support the new Mac Os X bring some news for Linux Users as well?? Thanks Nick
  7. Hi, I have a G70 receiver that I had stopped using a couple years back because of dropout issues. I recently picked up a couple of G75's that I use for backline stuff, and they also had dropout issues, but started working acceptably once I did the most recent firmware updates. So I circled back to the G70 unit, hoping I could update it as well and get some better performance out of it, but when I attached the USB cable to it, the updater wouldn't see it. I noticed that the cable felt kind of loose, so I opened the unit up and can see that the micro USB connector has largely detached itself from the PCB inside (see photo). Is this repairable? Will Line6 repair these or does anyone know of an aftermarket solution to have this repaired? The unit is basically non-updatable without this port. I did update the transmitter but I suspect both would need to be updated to see better performance.

    USB port issue

I just got a use Helix and everything was going fine til I tried to hook up to the iMac via USB. The USB cable does not fit snugly into the port on the machine. In fact, it dangles downwards. I tried 3 other cables so that's not the issue. It is so loose that it won't connect with the computer at all. I've tried holding it in place with no success. I do have a ticket into Line 6 but I hope maybe someone here has experience with this and has a solution!
  9. This post is for those who use a PC to trigger MIDI events in Helix. Since I updated to the 2.8 firmware, my USB connectivity for MIDI is not working. I’ve checked all of my settings, reinstalled the ASIO audio driver and validated my USB connection to the PC as I’m able to control Helix perfectly through HX Edit app. I also validated the issue by reverting back to 2.71 and testing and everything worked fine. I also copied all of the global settings so I could reset them all in 2.8. Well, the issue is back and I don’t know what to try next. Any known issues or ideas you can share with us? I really need to resolve this before my upcoming live performances, thanks!
  10. Hello, I just recently sold my ZOOM G5 and bought a Line 6 POD HD500X instead. The way that I would record using my ZOOM G5 is I would plug the USB into my macbook pro -> Open Garageband -> Input preference: ZOOM G5 -> Output preference: Built in Speakers. I was hoping it would work out the same with the line 6 but all I experienced was errors after errors: 1) No automatic detection I had to update everything through Monkey in order for the macbook to detect a USB input 2) Although the Macbook detects the MIC (Input sound of the POD HD500X) Garageband seems to have no signal what so ever, even if I have input set to the POD in preferences 3) I tried to solely use the POD HD 500X as both input and output and NOT even then the garageband detects the input signal. I have Macbook Pro macOS Mojave 10.14.1 (13-inch, Mid 2012) !!!!!!!!POD HD500X Edit is not supported for this OS!!!!!!!!!!!, Processor 2.5Ghz Intel Core i5. Please help, I am very frustrated it's been only a few days since I bought this and I'm wishing I never did.
  11. Yo, Helix brainiacs! I miss the days of wirelessly connecting to the Firehawk for editing during live performances. Could actually get some crazy effects by tweaking the delay parameters in the middle of a trail , and other cool stuff. And there's a bunch of other reasons for live use of the editor that i'll spare you. As for the foot control- g'head , but it doesn't work as well as a tablet or laptop for me. I've been researching and coming up with zip- any suggestions for wirelessly connecting laptop to the USB -B on the Helix ? Otherwise , i'll stick to my 10 foot USB cable. Thanks
  12. I am looking to use POD Farm to help clean up a simple USB headset mic. Some day I will get a good mic and interface but for now I just need to do some narration of a PPT presentation and would like the sound to be better. Any ideas?
  13. Hello everybody, Another thread about these problems. I know there already are a lot, but none of them helped me. I bought a used HD500 with an dead USB port (i changed it, i work in electronics) and the famous boot loop problem on Line6 welcome screen. I would like to reinstall the device's firmware. First, Monkey (last version) won't install the drivers (the wizard does the work, the files are where they are supposed to be, but when i reopen Monkey, it still displays that driver aren't updated, even when i do it manually). Is it linked with the fact that the device was never recognized by my computer? (Win 10, Lenovo laptop, USB 3.0 may be another source of problem?). It never appeared in Windows Device Manager. Edit : i disabled USB 3.0 in my bios, so they work as USB 2.0 ports, no result. (but may work for other issues) I've tried to reset with left arrow, nothing, reset with down arrow effectively opens update mode, but still nothing, reset with right arrow, nothing. USB cable is OK. Do you know a way to check if device's USB chip is OK ? Thank you in advance.
  14. HI, I recently bought a POD HD from a friend and I am facing a problem now. When I hook up the POD to my system and try to use it as an audio interface, the playback crackles as if like a torn speaker or something like that. I have tried a few solutions found here in the forums .. like changing the USB port, drawing power from the same power source, changing sample rates etc etc.. but the problem persists. I have a Behringer USB sound card and it works fine through the Behinger. . Also a bit confused about buffer size. Can we change buffer size in Windows?? I am totally new to POD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to do it this way so that I can use POD HD edit. Is there a way in which I can use the Behringer to connect the POD and use HD edit at the same time?? I use a normal Philips 2.1 computer speaker Win 7 64 bit.
  15. Hey guys, I have a Variax JTV but I don't have the USB interface in order to use it with the Workbench. If you have a Variax USB and don't need it anymore because you have the Helix or another unit that interfaces with the Variax, I would appreciate if you would be willing to donate it or sell it for a reasonable price. The brand new unit is too expensive for me. Thanks.
  16. Hey guys, I have a JTV variax but I have no USB interface to change it's parameters, and I have no other interface (POD, helix, etc.). The interface by iytself is 150$ here, which is absurd. Would this cable make the Workbench HD see my JTV and allow me to update firmware/upload patches and change params? https://bencraven.com/?p=1616 Thanks!
  17. I was hoping that I could use PowerCab edit through the L6 Link from my Helix. I have the USB connection to the Helix and have limited usb ports available. Is it possible to connect to the PowerCab with the Edit software through the Helix? Ideally, I'd have the HX Edit and PowerCab Edit on one machine and one USB connection.
  18. Hi there, I have the following setup (excuse the sad ASCII art): PC ---USB---> HX Guitar---------> Stomp ---> Headphones So basically PC and guitar into the stomp and headphones out. I want to use the Stomp as a soundcard so I can jam to tracks, youtube lessons etc. (note I'm not using a DAW or anything on the PC, so am not sending any audio from the stomp to the PC) With the Stomp, there is a 5 - 10 second delay when playing any sound from the PC (e.g. playing an mp3, watching a video). Once playing it is OK, but once I pause,. pick a different videos etc the delay comes back. It's almost as if the USB connection goes to sleep and needs to wake up. I can play audio via my Yamaha THR10c amp (also connected via USB) and it works fine, without any delay. So I think this is something Stomp or driver specific and not related to my PC (note the Stomp and THR10c are not powered on at the same time so shouldn't conflict). Has anyone any idea how I might resolve this? Details: - Windows 10 64-bit - Stomp firmware 2.71 - Control panel shows 1. Line 6 > HX Stomp - Driver Provider Line 6, Driver version 1.0.0.0, Date 09/01/2018 2. Audio inputs and outputs > Speakers (HX Stomp) - Driver Provider: Microsoft, Driver version 10.0.17134.1, Date 11/04/2018 - HX Stomp is the default device in Sound > Palback - Using the cable provided with the stomp into a rear USB 2.0 port - Ryzen 5 CPU and B350 motherboard Thanks!
  19. Hello, i´m really excited from this AMP but there is still something to improve *imho - Why is it not possible to get tones from the cloud with the PC-Remote-App?? - Recording over USB with dry and wet Signal? - Dry and Wet Signal for the Direct Outs? - PODfarm-Tones not compatible with Spider-Tones. Why? - a record mode for the FBV2 to start/stop/record the Loop with the Pedal I hope there are some Ideas for the next update :)
  20. I have been searching for an answer but am. It able to find anything, so I will post my question. i have both an Amplifi 75 and a pod HD bean. Although I really enjoy the amplifi as is, there are times where I would like to plug my HD into it to utilize the amps, effects, editing etc. In essence use the Amplifi as a set of speakers. I have read and tried with variable success using the aux in jack. I was wondering though if you can attach the pod HD to the amplifi with the USB port. I used this in past through my computer and it worked really well. Just asking as I noticed that in the manual for the amplifi it has changed from “future use” to audio in/out for recording. Anyone tried this or have any knowledge about this. Asking before I start plugging in this where they may not be meant to go.
  21. Hi all, Just did the firmware update on my helix LT (2.70) and It now seems to have a stability issue when using Helix as an audio interface. Every half hour or so, the usb seems to disconnect for about a second or so and switchs back to the inboard sound card of the PC. It then reconnects as quickly as it has quit and works fine for another half hour approx. I was wondering if anyone had had this problem too? Helix is the only device connected via USB and if I don't use it as an interface (say I only use the midi over usb fuction) It works fine... I don't reject the PC being a possible cause for this problem but it didn't behave that way prior to update... Thanks
  22. Hi All, Just upgraded my firmware to 2.70 from 2.54 and now my USB audio is very distorted. Helix sounds are fine but any audio coming back from the mac via either the system or my DAW are now very distorted. I installed the latest drivers and read the notes about allowing them through Mac OS X's security features in 10.13 and onward however I never got the prompt for this and it doesn't show up in the privacy settings either. Tried the usual restarting of everything with no luck, anyone else experiencing any problems using the helix as an audio interface?
  23. Just spent a few frustrating days trying to get Line 6 usb drivers for Helix and Variax to load successfully. Admittedly I hadn't connected either to my PC for a while, so a lot could have changed in that time. To cut a long story short, the resolution for me has been to turn off Memory integrity in Core isolation in the Windows Defender Security Centre. Neither my audio interface nor phone had problems, so in my limited sample set only the Line 6 drivers were struggling. Is this a known phenomenon? Should the drivers load with Memory integrity enabled? In both cases the drivers are the current versions (1.91.0.0 and 1.0.7.2 for Helix and Variax respectively). I tried earlier Helix drivers but they had the same problem. My OS is Windows 10 Home, Version 1803.
  24. Can I connect a Spider V 60 to a PA system through the USB output using a USB DI such as those made by Peavey or On-Stage? https://www.amazon.com/Peavey-3001370-USB-Audio-Interface/dp/B004A4PSEU https://on-stage.com/products/view/13311 Guitar > Spider V 60 > USB DI > mixer > PA Thanks.
  25. Hello everyone, I need send a USB MIDI tempo from iPad to Helix. How I configure a Helix to receiving the MIDI parameters? I searching about for this here, but I don't find it. Tks
