  1. I have recently purchased Helix Native in its 1.82 version and upgraded my Helix LT to 2.82. I was hoping to control Helix Native directly from my Helix LT, (switch Helix native presets from footswitches, use EXP pedal....) but i did not find any indication that this feature was existing. Can somebody tell me if this is possible ? or will it be possible soon ?
  2. I recently got a Spider V 240 and I'm trying to use my Note 8 to use the spider remote. I don't understand why they isn't a normal USB port for android and computers. What type of adapter do I need to plug my normal USB having phone into the android port?
  3. Once I updated my Macbook Pro late 2013 to MacOS Sierra 10.12 the UX2 usb audio interface crashes the computer. Everytime I plug in the ux2 interface, the computer immediately restarts and gives the error message (white text on black background). I have tried both of my Mac's usb slots, tried taking everything off of the interface (monitors etc.) and tried it with and without power cable on my computer. Also, when I try to start my computer while the UX2 is plugged in, the Mac's starting screen has some white error messages and then the computer restarts. Nothing helps. So atm I CAN'T USE THE INTERFACE AT ALL. Pod Farm software doesn't seem to have any problems. Please tell me if you've had these problems or you can help.
  4. Hi, I have a G70 receiver that I had stopped using a couple years back because of dropout issues. I recently picked up a couple of G75's that I use for backline stuff, and they also had dropout issues, but started working acceptably once I did the most recent firmware updates. So I circled back to the G70 unit, hoping I could update it as well and get some better performance out of it, but when I attached the USB cable to it, the updater wouldn't see it. I noticed that the cable felt kind of loose, so I opened the unit up and can see that the micro USB connector has largely detached itself from the PCB inside (see photo). Is this repairable? Will Line6 repair these or does anyone know of an aftermarket solution to have this repaired? The unit is basically non-updatable without this port. I did update the transmitter but I suspect both would need to be updated to see better performance.
  5. Français Deutsch Q: Which type of USB is my Line 6 device compatible with? A: Most Line 6 USB products are compatible with USB 1.x and 2.0. The UX8 and POD X3 USB Devices are USB 2.0 exclusive devices. Connecting these to USB 1.x ports will result in failed connectivity. The following Line 6 units are compatible with all 3 types of USB Ports: Guitarport Toneport Series (GX, UX1, UX2, KB37) Toneport DI (Gold/Silver) POD Studio series (GX, UX1, UX2, KB37) POD XT/XT Live/XT Pro Pocket POD Backtrack The following Line 6 units are ONLY compatible with USB 2.0: POD X3/X3 Live/X3 Pro Toneport UX8 Q: How are 2.0 USB ports different from 1.1 ports? A: As we all may know, USB ports are on your computer so you are able to connect external devices to work with your system. Most computers today come with one or more USB ports and they're so fast and easy to use. It's easy just to plug something into a port and go. Most newer computers come with USB 2.0 ports, but some of the older ones still have 1.0 or 1.1 (which are very similar to each other). To find out which version you have, follow these directions: Select the start menu, then go to "My Computer" right click on the "my computer" icon, then select "manage". Click on the "Device Manager" under "Computer Management". Scroll down on the right side of the box until you locate the Universal Serial Bus (USB) controllers, then expand the list by clicking the addition (+) symbol. If you have a USB 2.0 controller in your computer, the word "enhanced" will be listed somewhere in one of those names. Q: Can I use a USB Hub to connect my Line 6 unit to my computer? A: No, USB hubs are not supported in any application of Line 6 hardware. Q: I am receiving an "Error 10" code when attempting to connect my POD X3 or UX8 to my computer? A: An "Error 10" occurs when a USB 2.0 device (i.e.POD X3 and UX8 series) is connected to a USB 1.x port. Please connect these units to a USB 2.0 port. Q: I cannot find a driver to download for the Pocket POD, FBV Mk II controller or Backtrack? A: The Pocket POD, FBV Mk II controllers and Backtrack use "class compliant" drivers that are "pre-installed" in your OS.? If you are having trouble connecting to these devices you should try a different USB port and update your OS to ensure you have the latest class compliant drivers on your system. If you have tried all available USB ports on your computer and have either no device recognition or poor audio quality (clicks-pops), you will want to consider purchasing a PCI USB 2.0 card to connect your Line 6 USB audio interface. Q: I am receiving an error that says my hardware is not a valid Line 6 device (error 8000710B) / the ESN on my unit is showing "00000000" when I connect to Line 6 Monkey? A: This situation may happen when a unit is incorrectly repaired at a Line 6 service center. The unit needs to be returned to the service center that originally serviced the unit for repair. Hey guys, I have a Variax JTV but I don't have the USB interface in order to use it with the Workbench. If you have a Variax USB and don't need it anymore because you have the Helix or another unit that interfaces with the Variax, I would appreciate if you would be willing to donate it or sell it for a reasonable price. The brand new unit is too expensive for me. Thanks.

    USB port issue

I just got a use Helix and everything was going fine til I tried to hook up to the iMac via USB. The USB cable does not fit snugly into the port on the machine. In fact, it dangles downwards. I tried 3 other cables so that's not the issue. It is so loose that it won't connect with the computer at all. I've tried holding it in place with no success. I do have a ticket into Line 6 but I hope maybe someone here has experience with this and has a solution!
  8. This post is for those who use a PC to trigger MIDI events in Helix. Since I updated to the 2.8 firmware, my USB connectivity for MIDI is not working. I’ve checked all of my settings, reinstalled the ASIO audio driver and validated my USB connection to the PC as I’m able to control Helix perfectly through HX Edit app. I also validated the issue by reverting back to 2.71 and testing and everything worked fine. I also copied all of the global settings so I could reset them all in 2.8. Well, the issue is back and I don’t know what to try next. Any known issues or ideas you can share with us? I really need to resolve this before my upcoming live performances, thanks!
  9. To begin with, I'm aware that Hubs are not supported by Line 6 and the TonePort UX2, but I'm hoping someone with a bit more knowledge and experience than myself can make some suggestions to nail a particular incompatibility, or confirm the same problem with their own Surface Pro 2. So the Surface Pro 2 has a single USB3 port and pretty good overall performance. If I plug my UX2 directly in to this USB port, all works well. Very well! Windows 8.1 (full not RT), i5 2.5GHz 4 core, 8GB RAM, x64, 256GB SSD. When I introduce a bus powered USB hub, the device red lights and does not have enough power to fire up - as expected. With a powered USB hub (with nothing else connected), it fires up. I can connect to it fine through PodFarm, Monkey, License manager etc. However, any and all audio sounds like either there is a significant playback rate mis-match (slow, garbled and distorted), or a continually stuttering bus flow. So I've tried several different USB powered Hubs. I've also used a USB analyser (USBlyzer) and when comparing the state between direct connection and via hub, all is identical (connection speed, power usage etc.). Even the event log of playing a windows test sound in both scenarios issue the same commands and get the same close connection results. I also note that while TonePort via a powered hub is not supported, there are instances it works. So I am hopeful there is something further I can uncover here. Any help would be gratefully appreciated! TIA - Omar
  10. I'm really struggling with a solid USB connection to the Helix. I use the cable provided by Line 6, in the back of a Mac Mini, with nothing else plugged into any of the ports. I've never been able to update the Helix on the first try, it usually takes 4-5 attempts for an upgrade to happen, and in the meantime I lose all my presets. I only use HX Edit when I want to load Its, but after copying 4 or 5 Its, the connection drops with "Connection Interrupted" at the bottom. I've never had such an unstable connection to a device, especially one that has integral power so isn't drawing power over USB. What can I do to solve this, as this is an incredibly frustrating situation.
  11. Hello, I just recently sold my ZOOM G5 and bought a Line 6 POD HD500X instead. The way that I would record using my ZOOM G5 is I would plug the USB into my macbook pro -> Open Garageband -> Input preference: ZOOM G5 -> Output preference: Built in Speakers. I was hoping it would work out the same with the line 6 but all I experienced was errors after errors: 1) No automatic detection I had to update everything through Monkey in order for the macbook to detect a USB input 2) Although the Macbook detects the MIC (Input sound of the POD HD500X) Garageband seems to have no signal what so ever, even if I have input set to the POD in preferences 3) I tried to solely use the POD HD 500X as both input and output and NOT even then the garageband detects the input signal. I have Macbook Pro macOS Mojave 10.14.1 (13-inch, Mid 2012) !!!!!!!!POD HD500X Edit is not supported for this OS!!!!!!!!!!!, Processor 2.5Ghz Intel Core i5. Please help, I am very frustrated it's been only a few days since I bought this and I'm wishing I never did.
  12. Helix Native will not open in hardened runtime builds of Cubase 10.5 In rare cases, Helix/HX devices can become disconnected from HX Edit. A: There is no quick fix to solve this situation, but some end users have had success by installing a higher quality video card. Q: I am not able to get my computer to recognize the Line 6 device? - Plug your Line 6 device directly into the back of the computer. If you are on a laptop, try multiple USB inputs (as many laptops will route keyboard/mouse functions through a USB port, reducing the bandwidth). - Check out the following driver installation documents: USB Driver Installation: Mac USB Driver Installation: Windows Q: I am experiencing latency, how can I reduce it? A: The normal way of reducing latency is to reduce the buffer size. Buffer sizes of 512 will allow latency of about 10ms when using 44.1kHz. You usually set buffer sizes to a power of 2, so if you wanted to lower the latency, try 256, 128 or even 64. If you experience too many dropouts, you will need to increase the buffer size again. 15. Yo, Helix brainiacs! I miss the days of wirelessly connecting to the Firehawk for editing during live performances. Could actually get some crazy effects by tweaking the delay parameters in the middle of a trail , and other cool stuff. And there's a bunch of other reasons for live use of the editor that i'll spare you. As for the foot control- g'head , but it doesn't work as well as a tablet or laptop for me. I've been researching and coming up with zip- any suggestions for wirelessly connecting laptop to the USB -B on the Helix ? Otherwise , i'll stick to my 10 foot USB cable. Thanks
  16. I recently bought a Pocket Pod (yesterday, in fact), and since then I've only got it working when it's connected to the PC via the USB cable. It works perfectly in that case, but as soon as I remove the cable, it stops working. I've tested it with batteries only or with a power supply, and none of it works. The only case when the Pocket Pod functions normally is when it has either batteries or cable plugged in, and it's connected to the PC. I've read that the device needs a mono cable to activate, but I've been using a stereo one and there's no problem. Maybe the cable works when the USB is plugged in, but it doesn't work as a switch for when it is not. Should I try a mono cable or is there another problem? Thanks in advance
  17. Hi! I need some help, regarding the technical issues I'm having with my POD HD 500. When I power ON the device, it will display the LINE 6 logo permanently, so, the device won't initialize; I have tried a "FACTORY RESET", pressing the left arrow while powering the POD, but without success. Pressing/holding the down arrow, it will indicate: "UPDATE FLASH". Assuming that it needs a "FLASH MEMORY" update, it simply won't be possible by any means to do it, because: When using "Line 6 MONKEY", it won't recognize any USB connection to the POD, so it won't detect the device. If it doesn't detect the device via USB, and a "RESET" won't work either, how can I solve this issue and update the "FLASH MEMORY"? Connecting the POD via MIDI-USB Interface, the POD HD500 won't appear on the "Monkey's" list, while other devices will. I wonder why this model cannot be updated via MIDI Interface. It simply doesn't make any sense for me; I also tried to use different USB cables, USB ports on my laptop, tried to re-install Line 6 Monkey and everything else., but with no effect). RESUMING: Nothing works. Being a professional musician, I really need to solve this problem as quickly as possible, so I hope that someone out there can help me on this! I will be awaiting for your replies. Best regards to everyone! ;) Hélder Oliveira
  18. I am looking to use POD Farm to help clean up a simple USB headset mic. Some day I will get a good mic and interface but for now I just need to do some narration of a PPT presentation and would like the sound to be better. Any ideas?
  19. Some Android mobile devices do not fully support "USB Host mode", which is required for the Spider V Remote app to communicate with Spider V amplifiers. We have found that a free third party utility app called "USB Host Diagnostics" reliably identifies potential issues with USB Host mode support. This tutorial will guide you through the process. Access the Google Play store and search for "USB Host Diagnostics" made by a developer called "Chainfire". The app is offered free of charge. Download and install it. Launch "USB Host Diagnostics". The screen should look like this: Locate the "Start diagnostics" text and tap it to start. The app will ask you to disconnect USB devices. Disconnect any USB devices and click the OK button. The diagnostic process will start and the app will ask you to connect a USB device such as a laptop or a USB thumb drive. After a few seconds the process completes and you will be asked to upload results. Uploading is appreciated, but not necessary. On the final screen you will be able to see the test results. Scroll down to locate the "Verdict" section. In order for your Android device to work with Spider V, "OS" must report "Yes", and "3rd party apps" must report "Full".
  20. Hello! I have a problem with my XT Live! Disappeared all model packs (classic, metal, fx) LCD says: standard model set loaded. Connecting POD via usb it is no longer recognized by PC. 21. Hello everybody, Another thread about these problems. I know there already are a lot, but none of them helped me. I bought a used HD500 with an dead USB port (i changed it, i work in electronics) and the famous boot loop problem on Line6 welcome screen. I would like to reinstall the device's firmware. First, Monkey (last version) won't install the drivers (the wizard does the work, the files are where they are supposed to be, but when i reopen Monkey, it still displays that driver aren't updated, even when i do it manually). Is it linked with the fact that the device was never recognized by my computer? (Win 10, Lenovo laptop, USB 3.0 may be another source of problem?). It never appeared in Windows Device Manager. Edit : i disabled USB 3.0 in my bios, so they work as USB 2.0 ports, no result. (but may work for other issues) I've tried to reset with left arrow, nothing, reset with down arrow effectively opens update mode, but still nothing, reset with right arrow, nothing. USB cable is OK. Do you know a way to check if device's USB chip is OK ? Thank you in advance.
  22. HI, I recently bought a POD HD from a friend and I am facing a problem now. When I hook up the POD to my system and try to use it as an audio interface, the playback crackles as if like a torn speaker or something like that. I have tried a few solutions found here in the forums .. like changing the USB port, drawing power from the same power source, changing sample rates etc etc.. but the problem persists. I have a Behringer USB sound card and it works fine through the Behinger. . Also a bit confused about buffer size. Can we change buffer size in Windows?? I am totally new to POD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to do it this way so that I can use POD HD edit. Is there a way in which I can use the Behringer to connect the POD and use HD edit at the same time?? I use a normal Philips 2.1 computer speaker Win 7 64 bit.

  24. Hey guys, I have a JTV variax but I have no USB interface to change it's parameters, and I have no other interface (POD, helix, etc.). The interface by iytself is 150$ here, which is absurd. Would this cable make the Workbench HD see my JTV and allow me to update firmware/upload patches and change params? https://bencraven.com/?p=1616 Thanks!
