  1. My new pod pro HD X sounds lethal and I'm using the big bottom model for modern metal stuff just as I did on my XT Pro I've just let go -- sounds great through monitors using both R and L mono out and of course headphones. USB output as my audio device is really really fizzy -- same tone but a lot less bass, very muffled and a very loud scratchy high end, as if it's only recording part of the tone. I've googled lots of threads with people just talking about line 6 fizz but the tone is fine -- just through USB it's doing this. I've checked already the POD USB is studio direct not front end etc, made sure all levels are fine, but results via USB are totally different. Read a good few posts about editing the 'Z' value in HD Pro Edit (22k, 3.5m etc) and whilst that changes some parts of the tone it still sounds very off through USB. What am I missing here? I'd prefer to use the USB audio device method rather than line out so I can sell my interface and have a cleaner rig. Thanks, JP
  2. Hello Line6, I am French, so i'm trying to explain my problem in English... I just bought the Helix, test it, and i can say that it's really good ! :D But when i wire it to my Mac with USB, and Line6 app installed, every thing works fine, but about 1 minute later, the sound that output from the Mac has about 5 to 10 seconds of latency... I check from my Mac system parameter, and the audio level output is showing that latency, so i think it's a Helix problem... I wire my head head phones to the "Phone" output of the Helix (with USB wire still in the Mac), and i can hear that there is no more lantency in the headphones... I installed the last updates from the Line6 Updater app (Last update that i can find on 25 february 2018), but i experienced same problem. I check in the Line6 forum for any post that can explain that, but i didn't found any answer. So, I post this because I don't know if i missed changing some configurations and/or parameters to avoid this latency/get a workaround... Here are some informations : Mac : MacOSX High Sierra 10.13.2 (17C88) I you want some other informations, just let me know ! Hope you can help, Thank you for your support, and see you later !
  3. My Helix seems to be sending MIDI PC messages out on USB (to my iPad ) whenever my variax is connected via VDI and I change guitar models via the knob on my JTV. How can I stop this from happening ? I Need to send MIDI over SB via footswitches set up in control Center so cannot just turn the "MIDI Over USB" option off. But the option to send out MIDI PC messages is turned off as shown in the photo ) but yet HELIX is still sending out PC when models are changed. Is there a way to prevent this?. Judging by how the settings are set in this picture I would have expected that MIDI PC should be filtered out - 3 of the 4 options - all to do with PC - are off.
  4. Hi, I've read in this forum that it is possible to connect the iPhone to the Helix via camera adapter using the USB in in the back of the helix in order to stream audio. So, here I am. Everything connected but the music comes out of the loudspeaker of the iPhone and not my headphone (connected to the Helix). What do I have do? Thanks for your input and help. Markus
  5. Hello, I am struggling to get the sound coming from USB on the L2t's connected to Line6 link of my Pod HD500x. I have the sound on headphones but there is no sound other than guitar on the L2t which is pretty annoying as I want to practice with backing tracks on speakers, not headphones. Is it possible to get it working?
  6. In Global Settings on the IO page I often find that while adjusting the USB input trim knob my finger accidentally moves the adjacent USB 1/2 IN Destination knob - thus sending the audio to 1/4" jacks and not the XLR outputs which are the ones currently connected to my monitors... so silence..... HELIX Firmware developers :- Please can some thought be given to how the USB trim can be adjusted without the risk of something like this happening ? Its happened many times now and is hard to track down. https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/USB-1-2-IN-Destination-knob-needs-relocating-or-locking-option/920174-23508?submitted=1
  7. Hi, I'm recording with helix directly into the DAW using the USB. What I have noticed is, that the output volume is pretty low. I usually record the processed signal in one path and on another the dry signal. The dry signal is even much lower but I guess that is desired so that the signal isn't too hot when reamping. But my processed signal is way too low too - even when the amp volume is at 8-10. The only way to get a higher volume is to raise the USB Level. I have to set it to +8 for my clean patch and to +6 for the distorted patch. Is this normal or do i miss something? I used to record with the HD500 and there you could set the volume in the driver settings. Never had a problem with low volume. Thanks
  8. I just saw this in the DAW forum I frequent. They had a bad hum when a Focusright audio interface was USB connected to their computer. The hum went away when they replaced the USB cable with one that had a ferrite choke on it. Perhaps that may solve some of the problems that pop here now and then.
  9. Hi all, I recently bought a G10 system and have so far used it for a couple of gigs and a few rehearsals and it has been flawless, but reading the various forums I am concerned about the USB connection lasting. I play in a band which practices once a week and gigs 2 -3 times a month. I only really wanted a wireless system to free the stage of cables, I'm not planning on running into the audience, so the G10 looked ideal. Most of the posts I've seen about the dodgy USB connection seem to be from last year, so I was wondering whether this has been improved? I've been looking at alternatives but the G30 seems to have issues with the battery door and clip and the G50 or G70 seem overkill for what I need. My local music store has the G70 at a really good price at the moment (cheaper than the G50), so I'm wondering whether to bite the bullet and exchange the G10 for this, even though I will never use most of the features, just so that I know that it will be road worthy. Any advice will be really appreciated.
  10. Hi everyone, I recently built a new PC, and I am having issues with playing system audio when using the Helix as my soundcard. I did not have this problem with my old system, so I know that it isn't a hardware issue. When I first open my DAW after I boot up my computer, or watch YouTube videos, the audio will not play until I either disconnect and reconnect the USB cable multiple times or disable/enable in the playback devices window. It will then work for awhile, but if I leave the computer idle for any more than 5 minutes the problem returns. I have played with the sample rate, reinstalled the drivers, and checked the usb cable, and nothing seems to be helping. I have no idea what else to try, so if anyone has experienced similar issues or knows what the problem might be, I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance, Tyler.

    USB and Helix LT

Hi there. I have been having usb drop out issues with my helix LT since I purchased it Oct 31. For the first few days it was unusable because it failed during a fw update (2.12 > 2.21). I had tried the usual leads, no hubs, front and back sockets and other computers but had little luck. I finally got it to upload the 2.21 fw by sheer persistence. Since then I have had limited success connecting it to my Windows 10 PC. I even reformatted and reinstalled windows :) after that I have been able to transfer small batches (6 patches or IR's) to the unit from my pc. Any more and I run the risk of drop out, resulting with shutting down the LT and exiting the editor and restarting. But to bring this post up to present - I managed to upgrade it successfully to 2.30 but the USB issues remain and that back up file is just too big and drops out every time. Also the pinned post at the top of this thread ( For those of you who might need a little help with the 2.30 update: ) shows a USB transfer speed MUCH faster than mine. I have the latest drivers and no hardware conflicts. What gives? I have an open ticket but the only apparent option is return for servicing. The Helix LT itself is brilliant! Sounds amazing and even though I have had these issues the unit is so much fun I have stuck with it - but I would love to be able to use it as intended. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
  12. I have an POD XT which when plugged into Monkey via USB, the software stated I needed up upgrade the Flash to 3.1. I clicked to update but the process seemed to take an extrodinary long time to complete and during the process, I noted that the screen of the Pod had 'Error Code 02' dispalyed. I reset the Pod as requested but as soon as the screen turned on, I got 'ERROR CODE 02'. I tried all the buttons, tried turning dials and nothing had no effect. On research, I found that Error Code 02 relates to an issue with the Flash Memory. It seems to be a common issue that Monkey updating the Pod can corrupt the Flash, making the Pod useless. I tried putting the Pod in safe mode using the 'Save' / 'Edit' keys which did nothing. I tried safe mode using the most left black square button, again nothing. I tried the second black square button which put the Pod into another safe mode which checked the memory, this test passed. On the Monkey, the Flash was greyed out and I couldn't update it. It recognised the Pod connected via USB but couldn't establish the connection. I tried different USB cables, different USB slots, even another power supply and got nothing but the Error Code 02 on the screen. ** SOLUTION ** On a side line building up my rig, I had purchased a second hand Edirol UM-1SX which is an old fashioned Midi USB interface box, which I was going to use with my keyboard. I'd also just purchased a couple of brand new Roland Midi Cables. Once I setup the Edirol UM-1SX with my computer, the Pod XT was recognised by Monkey. I set this up by NOT using the USB cable but just connecting the Pod via the Midi Cables via the UM-1SX. Just an important point with MIDI cables, Computer Out = Pod In and Computer In = Pod Out. Now the Pod was connected to the Computer, Flash was able to update via Midi and installed to the latest Flash 3.1. Once installed and turned the Pod off and on again, I disconnected the Midi cables and connected the Pod via the USB to use Line 6 Edit. From here, no problems in editing and installing my tones. Happy days, broken Pod to working Pod. Hope this helps.
  13. Hello everyone! I am wondering, if there is a way to use usb-interface while editing my patches in pod hd. Please, take a look on the scheme I drew: https://2.downloader.disk.yandex.ru/preview/d5273195fd5c327879d31dc73dd54ca87673a70ce179525cba8f0271ed650d34/inf/TBwbN1hIDpW1khBkar4de-IFiC4WnK6FcoTIEK6bD5Q5fXm9B-fDG1cFLLJN5lx8lC1mHcivs-ZJVtKMFE8eXw%3D%3D?uid=33198966&filename=scheme.png&disposition=inline&hash=&limit=0&content_type=image%2Fpng&tknv=v2&size=1280x776 I want my pc apps not to use POD as soundcard except POD's editing software. So my scenario is simple. I want to play a guitar while playing some songs in any player app. I can edit patches to create a sound I like. But for master volume control I use my usb-interface (just because it stands on the desk, it is more comfortable than to bend to the floor where POD is). When I'm done playing, I just turn the POD off and continue browsing/playinggames/watchingporn using usb-interface. So, again, I need to connect POD's USB to PC only for editing patches, while all the playback is performed by usb-interface. Sorry for my english and my explanation. If there is any simpler solution, I would be glad to hear it. Thank you!

    USB Recording

Is recording into a DAW using the Amplifi USB connection even a viable option for getting a good, quality sound out of your guitar? If you've found it to be a good option... what are some of the tricks for optimizing the sound quality? Thanks!
  15. HD 500X Global EQ does not affect USB recording? Today I accidentally discovered that whatever settings I did not do, it does not affect the recording in my DAW. Is it just me having such a problem or so conceived? In the headphones all okay, EQ works.
  16. My USB keeps disconecting from my computer. Sound from the computer to Helix goes out from the audio interface. The control panel says "Helix not connected" and I lose control of the Helix from the App, The only fix is to reboot the helix. I have tried 4 different USB cables and 3 different laptops but the problem persists. It seems to be electrical with the Helix. It will sometimes happen just hitting one of the foot switches. Anyone else having this issue? Anyone have a solution?
  17. Hello, I have a stereo signal path that I would like to collapse to mono. When I use the 1/4 output, the signal gets collapsed automatically. However, I want the output to be set to USB and the only option I have is to make output stereo - USB 1/2, USB 3/4 etc. How can I select the output to be just USB 1, and send a collapsed mono signal through it?
  18. Has anyone run up against this issue?... I lost my Variax USB Interface Device and contacted Line 6. Was told they do not sell the device directly, and gave me links to dealer sites. All dealer sites are selling the Interface Device ONLY along with the Workbench software... for a "mere" $100. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!? Come on Line 6, you make a wonderful product, but this is ridiculous! Anyone else run in to this or similar issue? Anyone know where I can buy just the USB Interface Device... FOR A REASONABLE PRICE??
  19. I've got my Helix LT connected via the USB port into my pc. usually when I have music playing it goes via my Audioquest Dragonfly DAC to my stereo speakers and all computer sounds/audio/video like Youtube Facebook etc would go through the stereo. But when I hook up the Helix via the USB port it re-directs all of my music and everything else through my Helix into my FRFR Speakers which could be set much louder (guitar volume) than I had my Stereo set for. Has anyone else experienced this? and if so, how can I stop all audio from bypassing my stereo and going through my FRFR's? I will say i'm going through Windows 10 (not a fan). when I had Win7 the audio output controls were much easier to find and control

  21. Hi, One question, In my computer with helix selected as my midi/audio interface, what if I connect a USB controller like a novation launch pad, can I control parameter on helix? I have done this via regular midi straight from the controller to helix and works perfect. All new controllers that comes with lots of knobs (which are cooler) are USB only, they are not including the regular MIDI, those with regular USB/MIDI ports are expensive compared to all new lines of USB controllers. Can I control my helix with a USB controller connect through my computer with helix as my interface? Unfortunately my USB controller is damaged, so I cannot run the test, and I need to get a new controller with more knobs... Hope anyone can help, Cheers!
  22. Hi, What are the specs and where can I order a cable to connect the G70 via USB to a G-SYSTEM back panel? it's a DC 9V 50mA connection. thanks! steve.
  23. Hi mates: anyone can help me with this issue, pls? I got mu FT II HD connected to my computer via MIDI (in & out) to a USB port. I run the Edit software but this does not recognize my amp. I select my amp manually but it seems that it is not fully recognized, and I do doubt that I could load or edit any effect or edit any bank. I would like if any one can explain me if I do something wrong. Thank you.
  24. Hi, I'm wondering if there's any way to record from the amplifi to an Android device; either by USB or Bluetooth. Thanks for any advice.
  25. This is my current setup: Stage Piano & other instruments ->[analog XLR] -> Digital Mixer ->[s/PDIF]-> Helix ->[uSB]-> PC Essentially I am using my Helix as an audio interface (obviously on top of guitar FX, guitar input is not shown there but it's connected straight to the helix). I am NOT using the S/PDIF input as a guitar input, the guitar is connected to the Helix 1/4 jack. Essentially I am using the S/PDIF input as an extra input that I just want to route to another USB pair (say 3/4). Now, I can make all this work within a given preset, by setting the routing as follows: (Guitar IN) -> Amp & FX Chain -> (Multi out, USB 1/2) (S/PDIF IN) -> (No FX on this chain) -> (USB 3/4) This works great, there is only a major drawback: I have to repeat this pattern in all my presets, which is extremely tedious and inconvenient. What I would like instead is a global routing assignment (similar to what is possible to do today for the analog headphones out in the global settings). Regardless of the current preset I would like S/PDIF in to always be routed to USB 3/4 (or 5/6). Clearly I would be totally fine if doing that would remove the S/PDIF from the list of inputs for a preset (there is already precent for this when using the Variax input). I think that, in the current firmware, this is just not possible (but I am happy to be proven wrong). So I think this is more a feature request for the next firmware. Line 6 folks, does it sound reasonable?
