  1. I'm having trouble with getting my microphone with the UX1, since i bought it in december, I'll admit i'm not fantastic with technology but i know it's something to do with POD Farm, possibly something simple that i'm overlooking, how do i make POD Farm focus on the microphone rather than the guitar? A friend showed me how to do it with POD Farm 1 but i have 2.55 and the setup is different. The mic is a dynamic and works just fine, it's definatly POD Farm.
  2. So I was looking into buying the POD Studio UX1, but I was wondering if there was any to record certain tracks that go into the pod by themselves. So for example, could i have both my guitar and my ipod playing through the POD at the same time, but only record the guitar signal? If not, is there anyway to do this without UX2 or any other POD? Thanks.
  3. how to? is it a problem if you authorize the pod farm on a windows vista, then copy the files into a windows 7 ?
  4. Hey guys, I have an annoying problem that's just started this week with my UX1. It's not transferring sound to the right speaker in my headphones, despite showing output levels on both sides are fine. This isn't just with the guitar tone either, this is a problem as a whole soundcard. Itunes, Youtube, even general system noises all come through the left headphone only. I've tried using three different sets of headphones and updated all my drivers but the problem is still here. Help!
  5. hi all I always do a fresh install of windows every 12-18 mouths and just looked at my account and I only have 4 more devices I can authorize what will happen when I get to 10 will my ux1 be useless if so don't think I will be buying line 6 again
  6. Hi Guys, I am currently cracking my head to figure out how to increase electric guitar level from Line 6 UX1. I have set maximum level for volume both from guitar knob and ableton volume control. Its really frustrating to see the waveforms are pathetically small in the recorded audio tracks. So, i tried switching audio interface, i tried using my focusrite scarlette 2i2. Instantly, the waveforms are much more larger, at least 3 to 4 times, might be due to their better preamps. But, 2 weakpoints, no full range of Line 6 guitar effects (as I am not using UX1) and the noise level is very high ( a lot of buzzing sound). How should I solve this problem? I do not intend to buy a preamp or a new guitar. Is there anyway I can boost the signal level from UX1, it will be such a waste that I can't put those amazing effects into audible waveforms. Thanks in advance for all your advices!
  7. Hi all! I have a Podfarm UX1. I've had it for about a year and a half with no problems but recently when I try to plug it into the computer, the UX1 wont turn on, and the USB port on the back of the UX1 is a little loose and will not work. Anyone know an easy way to fix this? Or do I have to try and get a whole new UX1? Thanks!
  8. I,m using Pod Studio UX1 and I have a problem. When I record my electric guitar in Logic pro the waves are too weak. I can barley see the wave even after normalize. I'm using a Mexican stratocaster and pod farm 2.56.
  9. Hi there Line6 users! Do you know what impedance use the Pod studio UX2 in Instrument inputs (active and passive) and in Line inputs? I' ve done a weird thing but it can work IMHO: I've plugged in the line input my little guitar amp through the phones output but the recorded guitar make a lot of noise. Perhaps must I put a DI box between the amplifier's phones output and the pod and connect the the DI box output to a Pod's Mic input? Thx, and keep on rockin'!
  10. Hey guys. So I've been having some serious problems with my UX1 and Pod Farm. When I play into headphones, no problem. When I plug into an amp (UX1 Phones out>>Amp return input) or a DI running into a board and then a loudspeaker, my sound will cut in half and make this fluttery warbly sound. I have a friend that does the same thing but has no problem. Any ideas? My Pod Farm and Macbook Pro are both updated to the newest operating system and everything. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!
  11. I just found my old UX1 is a box, and want to use this in my cabin, where I am right now. My problem is that I am not able to register the UX1 on this new computer when trying to use PodFarm in Ableton Live. My internet-conneciton is extremely limited (only as a smartphone as modem, and again with very bad phone-signals). Then I am not able to connect to the Line6 server... Is there anyway I can fix this? I am not getting better signals for several days, and I need this NOW ;)
  12. Hello, I'm a previous user of GuitarPort / GearBox on a Windows XP with a SB X-Fi Titanium sound card. I experienced no issues with this setup and have used it for years. I recently purchased a new PC running Win8 and decided to give the UX1 a try. I'm using the same SB X-Fi soundcard, but I'm experiencing latency issues on the new setup, as follows: guitar->UX1->USB. The X-Fi is in Audio Creation mode. Though the latency is relatively small, it makes playing far too difficult. Also, in POD Farm, when I try to switch the Hardware from ToneDirect to Creative (ASIO), the PC freezes. If anyone has any insight, I'd greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks
  13. Hi all, i have recently tried to use UX1 as an external sound card. I've installed all the latest drivers from the line 6 website. everything works, sound quality is there for music. the problem is that when music or video is playing, the voices are barely audible and the music is much louder. the highs on the voice also sound distorted. even when i'm running a voice chat app, and other stuff like in game music is playing, the voice chat app is horrendously soft. i tried equalizing the sound by going to the sound settings under control panel. however, i've found that the enhancements tab is missing. further digging around the internet revealed that the enhancement tab depends very much on the firmware provided for the device. i have tried downloading external EQs but it doesn't manage to solve this issue. Specs are: Toneport UX1 windows 8 i7-4700MQ 8gb ram my in built sound card is horrible, and so i really need to use this ux1 for proper music :( please advise, thank you very much
  14. I am running Protools 10, using an ElevenRack as the sound card. I am running PadFarm for my guitar and bass processing. It worked great until about a week ago. When I first open a saved project, PodFarm loads up just fine and gives me the requisite tones. As soon as I change to another tone, I no longer get any input or output signals in PodFar. I tried updating everything, uninstalling and reinstalling PodFarm, etc, no luck. Any suggestions?
  15. Hi everyone, I'm trying to get my UX1 to work on my Windows 8 64-bit machine, but to no avail. So far I've tried four different USB 3.0 ports (I have no 2.0 ports on this PC) and reinstalled the drivers over and over. So far, the only kind of sound I can get out of it is what appears to be a very grainy and slowed down version of the audio. When I watch a video on Youtube, the seconds on the video will go by two or three times as slowly as they should. I'm not sure what the issue is, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Hello there, I bought a POD studio UX1 a few years ago and as far as i can remember it used to work fine. I decided to start using it again yesterday but found that i cant because; The LED doesnt light up at all when it is plugged in the UX1 is not recognised and is listed as an 'unknown' device I feel i have tried everything, i have; uninstalled and re-downloaded/installed all relevant software multiple times, I have gone and bought a new USB cable which does exactly the same thing I have checked all USB ports in my laptop and they work perfectly with all other devices I have done the obvious such as restarting the laptop and waiting for a while.. The only other coclusion i can think of is that the UX1 is faulty, but i cant see why as its been looked after and barely ever used. I would also like to mension that when i plug the USB cable in, it does make a sound, not the 'da ding', a USB device should make, it makes a 'dung dung' sound, not the 'di dong' one when you unplug a device. thats the only way i can describe it, and that also means the cable should be working. I am also running on Windows 7. Somebody please have a solution to this because i was really looking forward to actually using my UX1 Thanks
  17. Hi I'm new to UX1 and have been having a load of trouble getting going... I was using MBox2 with Pro Tools Le but after installing Mavericks it stopped working (a common problem I have discovered) so I researched and found that UX1 is supposed to be fine with Mavericks. I have installed everything as per instructions and have authorised computer and device with Line 6 licence manager. If I try to log in with Line 6 monkey, it tells me I'm not conected to the internet (even though I am and I can log in on the line 6 site) then when I fire up Pod Farm2 I get the following error message - 'pod farm2 - pod farm failed to initialise L6twxy framework (code0x8000e00a)'. I don't have a clue what to do about that It's starting to do my head in. Any suggestions or tutorials that might help me bearing in mind I'm not a total technical moron but I'm not a techie ether
  18. Please check out some songs I've written using the Pod Farm 2 and UX1 toenport. I'm looking at improving my guitar tone further so any constructive feedback is welcome, thanks. http://www.reverbnation.com/frankietgman
  19. Was wondering if you can use 2 interfaces on the same computer ( but not at the same time) I'm thinking of buying the POD HD Desktop, but it doesnt have the 2 inputs like my UX-1 has for my Keyboards So even if I add the POD HD and disconnect it I want to be able to connect the UX-1 and add keys in my recordings. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Rob
  20. Getting a weird modulated vibrating echo when playing bass through garageband while use the UX1 as midi input. Problem occurs off and on. Tried different cables and different amps through garageband. Some times happens to guitar as well. Using PodFarm 2.56 and all drivers have been updated
  21. Greetings fellow Line 6-ers, There does not seem to be any documentation on this, yet it seems of critical importance when deciding which interface to purchase for recording via microphone: What is the precise maximum +dB gain provided by the physical mic preamps on the Pod Studio UX1 and UX2 respectively?
  22. I have been using my POD Studio UX1 to record electric guitar DI with great success (or at least with very few technical issues) for the past few years. More recently I have ventured into the scary world of recording acoustic guitar and vocals. For this I have been using a rather low-budget dynamic microphone (Superlux TOP-258) running into the UX1 XLR input. It has always frustrated me that I cannot seem to get sufficient gain when recording my acoustic guitar this way. I have cranked the mic gain rotary nob all the way, hit the +18db boost button in POD farm, etc. I previously used Cubase to record, but have since switched to Cockos Reaper. Needless to say, the low mic gain issue persisted despite the DAW switch. Suspecting that the low gain might have something to do with my low-budget mic, I decided to invest in a Shure SM57 (the fact that I use the word "invest" in this context should give you a clear indication of my budget...), hoping that results would improve. To my dismay, however, the low mic gain issue not only remains unsolved, but actually seems worse with the SM57 than the Superlux mic. I feel somewhat at a loose end. I have seen reviews of the SM57 where it is plugged directly into some USB audio interface (just like I do with my UX1) and the artists manage to record acoustic guitar with tons of gain (or so it seems from my perspective). To make it clear: I am running the SM57 directly into the XLR input on the UX1 via an XLR-XLR cable, gain is turned up 7/8ths of the way, directly into my DAW (any more mic gain and the white noise becomes rediculous). The gain when recording vocals (using only a pop-filter between the vocalist and the mic) is acceptable, but still not fantastic. The noise to signal ratio when recording my acoustic guitar, though, is atrocious. Can any one offer advice as to what the problem may be? Could it be the XLR cable? Could there be something worng with my UX1? Is the amount of maximum amount of gain I can hope to get out of the UX1 simply to little to ever be able to record acoustic guitar with a dynamic mic at an acceptable signal-to-noise ratio? Any inputs are appreciated, though may I kindly request that you refrain from suggestions that I purchase a condenser mic (I have noted a trend on these forums to recommend condenser mics as a sort of panacea to any type of mic gain query, even when the purchase thereof is not an option (for whatever reason) to the OP. Given the UX1's lack of phantom power, purchase of a condenser mic would in any case neccesarily imply purchasing a different audio interface, in which event I may as well consider getting an entirely different interface with better preamps and, more importantly, more input gain than the UX1.)
  23. I am using a UX1 which works perfectly fine for my guitar and recording in cubase for my guitar but now I am trying to record JUST vocals, my guitar isn't even plugged in and I can't figure out how to set it up I use Asio4all in cubase and can't even find VTS autobay in that to operate what I have found in so many things...but that's not the main problem (even though it is a problem.) I can't even get any audio in Pod Farm 2.5 I did what was suggested in one forum but it did nothing (simply opening the mixer...which doesn't sound like it would fix any problem) No I do not have a phantom power mic, so there should be literally no problem, but I understand it's obviously not plug and play like using a guitar. Help with cubase would be a godsend, but help with just being able to work with my mic in pod farm would be awesome and much appreciated. thank you, DSH
