  1. A jolly good day day to anyone who may read this. Been making demos with my UX1 and an electroacoustic guitar for quite some time using GearBox. Now that I happened to start using a Mac, I just cannot fathom an alternative that would have acoustic amps (can be something reaaaaally basic). YES, I tried googling and since this has to be quite a popular thing, I must be doing it in a wrong way, for the last two days yielded literally no results for me. Sincerely yours, Steve
  2. I have a Surface book with Windows 10 (64bit) and I am not able to install the drivers for UX1. The installer claims the drivers are installed, but they are not. When trying to manually install the inf-file, the error message is: "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device." Any help is appreciated.
  3. I've been using the UX1 on a mac for over a decade and recently switched to a Windows 10 computer. I have the UX1 installed and set up on the new computer but on the mac I was using Gear Box for the amp simulator but I understand that it is no longer available. I am a very casual user and I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on software to be able to use this thing. I've been looking for free amp simulator software and recently downloaded Voxengo Boogex but can't figure out how to get it to work with the UX1. For starters I guess I need to know if Boogex is even compatible with the UX1. If not, any suggestions for free or very inexpensive amp sims that are? If so, how do I get them to work together? Thanks for any help at all.
  4. Hi all, hope you're well. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me please. I'm having difficulties setting up a NT1-A condenser mic through a UX1. I've read through several old posts on this forum but can't seem to find the answer I need. The issue is the volume level from the mic; it's barely audible. The NT1-A is plugged in to the input channel of a Neewer 48V phantom power supply (power into mains), with the output going into the mic input of the UX1. The UX1 is plugged in via USB with the output settings set to 'built-in output' via Garageband on a MacBook Pro, coming through to my headphones. I've cranked the mic gain on the UX1 up to max, pushed the track volume up to max in Garageband and 'Mic 1' input is selected on the mixer in Podfarm. I can mostly hear a quiet, soft hissing noise (presumably the high gain setting) but when I go to record I can hear my voice quietly underneath, so seemingly the mic is on and registering. I've tried clicking the +18db boost on the input channels in the mixer in pod farm, which increase the volume of the hissing and makes things a little louder but something's clearly wrong. I've been recording guitar using Podfarm without trouble, so presumably I'm missing something as I believe other people have managed to get condensers with phantom power working fine? I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how I can fix this,, thank you!
  5. Greetings, everyone. I am unable to get any sort of input with my UX1 after formatting my PC and installing the latest software and drivers. Audio playback works perfectly fine. Everything else on my DAW works except for input from my instrument. PODFarm 2 runs, but no input signal. Help please?
  6. When I updated the osx to 10.13.14 the UX1 stopped starting at startup, no lights red or green. opening Monkey it says that there are no drivers installed so I proceed with the installation that seems to install them but after restarting the computer Monkey keep saying that no driver are installed. I also noticed that some days after some hours that the computer is on suddenly the UX1 gives me the green light without any kind of action by myself, some other days nothing happens the whole day. Anyone have a suggestion on how to make it work again?
  7. So I am having a problem with opening Pod Farm 2. in any DAW. It comes up with the screen that says "NO POD FARM LICENSE FOUND". The thing is, when I go into License manager, listed under "My Devices" is My Computer, which it also says is authorized. So I do not know what is going on. Why can't I open the version of Pod Farm I bought? HELP :(
  8. Downloaded OS X Sierra a few days ago, now my system preferences (Sound) and my GarageBand does not list, recognize/see my UX1 which previously worked fine. If anyone has any further advice (other than reverting to an old OS) I would love to hear it. Thanks!
  9. Hi I have UX1 and it have worked fine. Now i changed my computer and try to install it on,but when i launch the podfarm,it says that my Pod Farm aint authorized.I logged on to a license manager and authorised it,but it still says that podfarm license is unauthorised.I also restarted computer but that didnt helped. So what should i do ?
  10. Hello. Sound card Line 6 UX1 - I can not open more than one program (guitar rig, amplitube 4, ravelver, etc.). I run these programs, select the ASIO sound source and everything - the program crashes. Pod Farm 2 works. The sound and computer itself is authorized through the license manager, the driver reinstalled, the Windows too. Here are the pictures of errors: BIAS: AMPLITUBE:
  11. Hello guys; wondering if you can help me out I use a Line 6 UX1 and the softwares assigned, POD2 and Riffworks. My drummer wants to send me the drum tracks so I can add the guitar layers, but I am not particularly happy with the built in emulators. Has anyone experienced recording via SM57 straight to the cab cone? I'd like to give it a go as I've got a 6505, but I am not sure if the sm57 be worth the investment without knowing how the ASIO would respond. Many thanks in advance. John.
  12. I need help ! i have a Acer One 10 detachable Tablet/ Computer , with windows 10 , my line 6 ux1 connects fine but when sound is played from anything whether music or computer videos , the sound comes out as a slow motion , grindy , ugly sound , i need help to get this fixed ! please
  13. Simple question here. I have a really awesome set of bluetooth headphones and just bought a Pod UX1 to compliment my Spider Valve MKII. I have opened Logic Pro X and also tried Garageband and noticed latency. I also noticed that Pod Farm will not work with the BT headphones at all. Like the original question asks, is latency avoidable? Also, is it possible to get Pod Farm to see the BT headphones. System is a MacBook Pro 2.8GHz i7 with 16GB RAM. Thanks everyone.
  14. I have the UX1. I have no issues recording guitar but I can't figure out how to use the microphone I have. I have a Scarlett studio microphone, does it not work because it needs its original interface? I tried everything. It says mic unprocessed, please help me. I don't want to have to go buy another interface.
  15. Hi, I've been trying to find a solution for a few days, but no luck and im not sure, where the problem is. So, i use UX 1, reaper and for example bias fx. And once for some reason this thing worked very well, for like half an hour, i quickly made some recording and rendered it. And that was it, my sound is muddy again. I will attach an audio, where i use same bias preset, settings seem to be the same as well and di tracks are practically the same. But, one sounds muddy, another sounds great, almost like original recording. In this recording you can hear both versions switching. The problem is, i cant get that good sound back, the way it was supposed to sound. I also tried different software and even different PC-s. The only thing i havent tried yet, is another AI. Maybe i got mine defected or something, or my settings are bad, i dont know. And do guitar plugins sound depend on the AI, if the DI track was already recorded? Any help will be appreciated, thanks. test.mp3
  16. Hello anyone. If you have ended up here then you have had to deal with the pain of all this noise. I did however sort it simply. For Windows 10 users, it all comes down to your USB ports. USB 2.0 Fail – no sound at all. USB 3.0 Hissing/Crackling static noise. USB 3.1 Works perfect. Thanks.
  17. Hi! I'm having a very weird issue with my UX1. I use my toneport to send midi keyboard sound out of ableton live using an old MacBook white, last week my old laptop hard drive died and had to replace it. After installing ableton and line 6 stuff I haven't been able to use the interface, no installation errors or such. Has someone experienced something similar? Thanks in advanced!
  18. Hey everyone, Firstly, thanks for spending some of your time to give me a bit of help. I've recently moved country, and a friend gave me some speakers as a house warming gift. Problem is, they only have a single auxiliary input, and my UX1 has stereo outputs (quarter inch). WIth my previous speakers back in the U.K., it was simple. I had a cable which connected from the stereo 1/4 inch outputs, to stereo RCA, which I just plugged into the speaker set directly. No problems - stereo to stereo. Now I have bought an adapter to mix the stereo 1/4 inch down into a single auxiliary cable. The problem is, I think I am missing audio this way. Namely, when I test the configuration in windows sound (i.e. playback devices > line 6 UX1) and click to test the speakers, it plays the test sound for the left speaker, but not for the right speaker. However, if I take my aux cable, plug it directly into my computers port, and test, it will play the test sound through both speakers. I don't get why mixing down the stereo to an auxiliary with the UX1 causes only one speaker to work, because surely my computer is mixing the stereo into a single auxilary cable, yet it is still coming out of both speakers. Hope this makes sense. Is there any work around? Or does a UX1 just always require you to keep a stereo to stereo configuration? And buy speaker hardware which has a stereo input option? Cheers everyone. :D Joe.
  19. Hello, I wanted to bring attention to my current issue with my UX1. Basically when I load in the audio from my microphone, there's a loud static noise made with it. I made a video to hear it: If anyone knows how to help it would be much appreciated, thank you.
  20. Hey guys, simple question here. I have been using the UX1 forever with the Podfarm and have been beyond happy. That said, it was time for a moderately better upgrade since my UX1 finally went toast after seven years. My question is, when I add the UX2 as my new device, will I lose the custom tones/presets I made in Podfarm with the UX1? If so, is there a way to avoid this from happening? Thank you!
  21. Hi all, I hope to find an answer to a question I have for a long time now. So, I am not willing to give up on my stomp-boxes and yet, at times I am forced to practice at night and yes this means a tube amp is too loud and I need headphones. Someone told me i could get a fair quality by using an external device such as the TonePort UX1 ore focusrite scralett solo and the bigger versions. Please did anyone try the following signal path: Guitar -> Pedals (overdrive, distortion, modulation , delay etc ... from various producers) -> LINE 6 TONEPORT UX1 (without pc software editing tops cab simulation) -> headphones out? IS THIS POSSIBLE? WHAT IS THE SOUND QUALITY? CAN I RECORD LIKE THAT? So...thanks in advance. Dan
  22. Hi I have UX1 interface and Laney Ironheart 120 and I want to record my amp using UX1 and PODFarm. Recently I've read in amp manual that i have 'FX SEND 1/4' mono jacket socket' which I can use for an external FX unit, or as a line out for recording. So my question is: Am I able to connect amp to UX1's line inputs and record directly? Or would it damage UX1/Amp? Regards Peter
  23. Hey there, Firstly, thanks for any and all replies. Basically I want to use my UX1 to record my guitar in Cubase, but I don't want to use any of the sounds from PodFarm, I want to use one from Cubase instead. Cubase picks up my guitar with or without PodFarm open fine, I can see the output monitor rise and fall as I play, and using direct monitoring I can hear the effect back on Cubase. However, when I click record, the track doesn't pick anything up. The only time I can record actual sounds is when I am using PodFarm sounds. I believe I have my ASIO set up correct, as well as inputs/outputs. I've attached a few screenshots, if there's anyone who's familiar with using PodFarm and Cubase together, I'd really appreciate the help. I'm running Cubase 8 LE, on Windows 10. Cheers.
  24. Hi all For the last few years my preferred alternative to an amp has been to play my guitar through my PC using a Line 6 FBV Express MK II pedal with a Line 6 UX1 (Pod Studio) with Pod Farm 2. It's even great but my FBV is now intermittently faulty. This kit has been around for quite a few years now. Can anyone suggest a new set up giving me the same flexibility in the same sort of price range please? I need to be able to have amp sims and effects through my PC with the ability to change effects with some sort of floorboard. I'm happy to look for another second hand FBV Express MK II but if anyone can suggest a newer improved set up that would be great. Also are there any other floorboards that can bu used with my UX1 (Pod Studio)? Thanks all!
