Hi all For the last few years my preferred alternative to an amp has been to play my guitar through my PC using a Line 6 FBV Express MK II pedal with a Line 6 UX1 (Pod Studio) with Pod Farm 2. It's even great but my FBV is now intermittently faulty. This kit has been around for quite a few years now. Can anyone suggest a new set up giving me the same flexibility in the same sort of price range please? I need to be able to have amp sims and effects through my PC with the ability to change effects with some sort of floorboard. I'm happy to look for another second hand FBV Express MK II but if anyone can suggest a newer improved set up that would be great. Also are there any other floorboards that can bu used with my UX1 (Pod Studio)? Thanks all! -
I just got my ux1 for christmas and I love using it with pod farm. I have a headset with a 1/8 jack so I bought one of those 1/8 to 1/4 adapters to plug into the microphone port on the ux1. I was not sure how to connect it to my computer speakers though. I have the logitech z623. This is a picture of the back of the subwoofer. http://media.bestofmicro.com/C/2/275186/original/Z623-sub-IO.jpg The green 3.5mm input on the back of the subwoofer is currently connected to my computer. I tried plugging that into the ports on the ux1 but no luck. The right speaker of the z623 has another aux port so I tried connecting an aux cord to the microphone port of the ux1 and it seemed to work but not so great. I was able to play youtube through it and it sounded good but the guitar did not. I really have no idea how all this stuff works. What would be the best way for me to connect my ux1 to the logitech z623 speakers? -
I am a registered user of a GuitarPort with Gearbox and I am considering buying a second hand Pod Studio UX1 which, apparently, does not have an accompanying CD for Pod Farm - should it have? The UX1 has never been registered so if I register it on my account does this enable me to access a complete version of Pod Farm? If not, what sort of cost am I into for the software?

Hey guys, Im having trouble with my XLR microphone that is hooked up to my UX1 interface. The green light is on indicating that the computer has detected the device (and yes I downloaded the drivers from this site) but it is still not picking up sound. I have tested this mic before and the interface but it doesnt seem to be working this time. PLEASE HELP THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Hi, I've bought a UX1 and I am trying to install and authorize it on my Macbook Pro (El Capitan). The driver is working fine, the light on the UX1 is green. I can record my guitar in GarageBand without problems. However, when I try to authorize the UX1 to get the full version of Pod Farm 2, the device is not detected. In License Manager only my Macbook shows up, no other devices. In Line6 Monkey, I get "no devices detected". I can only select a PodxT, which I have never bought or used. I tried reinstalling all the software but I get the same problem. I already opened a support ticket on the issue, but Line6 support can't resolve the problem, so it seems.

I've been using my Pod UX1 for about 5 years now with absolutely no issues. Today i updated to El Capitan and suddenly i'm getting no audio from pod farm and no visible input signal. Not only that but when i try to open Logic Pro 9 it scans all my audio units and then stops on POD Farm forever. It will NOT scan Podfarm. What is wrong here? I have all the latest drivers etc but it just isn't working. Should i try reinstalling podfarm or is it simply that Line 6 hasn't updated it yet? HELP- 40 replies

Hi my name is Benjamin. Recently I purchased a POD Studio UX1 and set it up all properly, authorized it and got latest drives and everything. I used it with my guitar and Pod Farm 2.5 and it was amazing. I want to record my keyboard. It is a Yamaha DGX-640. Basically I have found out to record the actual sound you have to use the two line inputs at the back of the interface. So today I went and bought a 1/4inch jack male to 2 1/4inch female jacks splitter because the keyboard only has one jack. I plugged 2 1/4inch jack cables into the splitter which was connected to my keyboard and the other ends connected to the line inputs on the UX1. I also plugged in my headphones through the direct monitoring port. Basically no program including Ableton live and audacity picked up the sound, and I couldn't hear the keyboard through direct monitoring with headphones as well, all I could hear was static... :mellow: I'm not sure what I am doing wrong? Should I have gotten the actual cable and not the splitter or? Please anyone help because I would absolutely LOVE to record my keyboard in HD quality. Thanks Ben. :) -
Hi there! I´ve recently bought a used TonePort UX1,(the one with the red front) and I have a mac with OS X Yosemite. I hace all the drivers updated, the License manager with all the devices authorized and the Line 6 Monkey. Even though, for some reason Pod Farm 2.58 is in trial mode and doesn´t give me a license to get the complete features that I "deserve". Can someone help me? Thank you vey much! -
Hello friends, perhaps you can help me with this one. Both the phones and line outs from my ux1 have louder right channels than left channels. This is especially noticeable at lower output, where if i turn it down enough, it's like only one speaker is playing. It's not my mac or my phones, because using the same headphones I get a balanced output directly from the computer. Logic follows that it can't be the speakers either, because that would be a crazy coincidence that they have the same problem as the headphones when the headphones only have the problem when plugged into the ux1. It also follows that can't be the cables because my phones and my monitors use different cables, and when I swap the left and right cables at the outputs, the other monitor sounds louder. My unit is fairly old, but I noticed this once years ago, forgot about it, and am only now trying to deal with it as I get more serious about my critical listening and production. I also looked around online and this seems to be a common problem with some ux2 and ux1 units, but not all of them, meaning it's almost certainly a defect. My warranty probably doesn't apply anymore, so any ideas on what else I could do to solve this?

Hi, I've been having this issue ever since I started using the ux1 and podFarm, which was about a day ago so it might be that I'm just a newbie on the subject. But even reading through a lot of the threads of this forum I haven't managed quite to solve this. I'm running Pod Farm 2.5 on windows 8.1 using Reaper as my Daw. From what I've gathered here, I'm supposed to set on the mixer viewer the send options to either dry or tone, depending on which ones ill be using for recording. Thing is that, even by setting both on Tone A, and recording on Reaper by selecting either setereo 1-2, or 3-4, or even mono on any of the four, I'm still hearing the dry signal getting through the wet. And I'm not managing to fix this by myself. I muted the send signals, to try and see if maybe somehow I'm recording through two devices simultaneousy. But when recording I got nothing. So my guess would be that somehow Pod Farm is really eager to get that dry signal out, or I'm missing something with the setup. The device on reaper is correctly selected, I am using the Asio audio system, with the Asio Ux1 driver. I do have the first option selected on send one and the last one on send four. Pre-posting edit: I've also tried listening the device with the windows audio options, and I'm getting the wet signal from PodFarm as well as with the dry signal from here too. If I mute the send signals, the whole audio cuts off not just the amplified signal. Thanks in advance -
Hey everyone! Need some other people's point of views on the situation in hopes it can be fixed. :P I have a UX1 w/ Podfarm 2.5. I usually use it for voice recordings, no instruments. I've spent a long time editing settings, still unable to get perfect sound for my microphone. I use a lot of noise gates because for some reason there is a lot of background noise I presumed were fans from microphone pickup. I always thought this was weird since this room is practically sound proof, and I can barely hear the fans, but I always shrugged it off. Well today when I was testing microphones I made a discovery. I was in the middle of switching them out when I noticed after I unplugged one, there was still the same fan noise with nothing plugged in... For some reason, there is this constant noise being created in the device. It gets louder when I adjust the input of the device, which is horrible since I need it at the "bad" level for my microphone to pickup anything. I've been doomed to bad audio since I have to turn on multiple noise gates to somewhat block the strange noise, but of course it degrades microphone quality. The background noise is constant with something plugged in or not. I use the device as my entire sound card as well, for input and output. So my question is, can anyone help me? I'm down for any advice you may have, or maybe you guys have presets for your pod farm you think might help that I should try. I hope I haven't been sold a faulty UX1. I'm using an AT20-20 microphone XLR'd to a PHP1 Phantom Power Supply, that is then XLR'd to the UX1 that is then USB'd to the PC. Spec ----------------------------------------------------------------- CPU: FX-4850 4.0 GHz 8 core processor RAM: 16 gig OS: Windows 10 64-Bit I've also left in an audio clip of what the constant noise sounds like, thanks again!

Hello! I am having an issue with the microphone input on an old Toneport UX1 (Asio4All drivers - latest version) and Pro Tools 12. My input look OK (I think? - I tried to delete them all and set the as default again) - see screenshot attached but when I record a track, I can't get the Microphone to work (Mic gain is not at 0 and there is no On/off button on the Mic :) When I plug in my guitar, it works on both inputs (Line 6 TonePort UX1 1 or Line 6 Toneport UX1 2)... it looks like the 2 inputs showed there are for the guitar ? What about the microphone...how can I get/set the input so that I can record from the microphone ? If someone could help me out with this ! Thanks ! -
Hey everyone, If you were wondering I did already post this document in another section of the forum but it was incorrect. So my issue is that my UX1 with PodFarm 2.5 creates a constant static noise in the background. Even if no microphone is connected the static is still made. The only way to get good audio quality is for me to activate Noise Gates that make the quality of the audio horrible! I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what is going on with my device. I'm also willing to accept any PodFarm vocal presets you recommend. Questions you might have: My UX1 is my full audio device. I have a fx-4850 Processor w/ 16 gig ram All my drivers are up to date. I'm on Windows 10. I also left in a .wav of the noise it makes. It was recorded with no microphone plugged in, and the hots on the box are set high enough for an Audio Technica AT20-20 to pickup vocals so they aren't too high. Thanks! Bad Noise.wav

I iam using windows 10 and iam using the ux1 soundcard. When iam recording in reaper, podfarm 2 or whatever i use, my soundcard makes a amount of noise when iam not playing at all. Even on clean and without any effects! What to do? Please help me. The noise is even bigger when i am pluggin in electricity to my computer. Sorry for bad English. Please help guys. Thanks -
Hey guys, is there any way to record from the line and either mic or instrumment at the same time on UX1 in POD Farm? When i choose to record from the line 1 it only offers me the line 2 for the other input. Maybe there's some logical reason for this and i'm just stupid :D Thanks for answers Cheers

I'm trying to get my old TH2 and the new TH3 working again but, now I get no sound from the headphone jack of the UX1. I use to just run out of that to my JBL305's or use headphones. The input output meters on the TH2/3 software move but, I get no sound. If I run straight out of the rear outputs to the monitors I do get sound but, it's very fuzzy and dies off very quick like a noise gate cutting it out but, no noise gate is on. Any ideas anyone? using Windows 10 PC desktop. -
I updatet my Windows 7 to Windows 10 (64 bit) a few months ago. With Windows 7, my TonePort UX1 worked perfectly, but since i upgraded to Windows 10 (and downloaded the newest Windows 10 drivers for my device), it only play's wierd sounds in the rhytm of the song i want to play. I tried to fix it by my self, but Windows 10 says it works correctly. I hope someone of you have an Idea how to fix this problem. Hi Guys, I have a question: if I want to connect my mic200 preamp into my audio interface UX1, which of these 2 options is the right way? 1) Mic into preamp input with XLRS cable --> XLRS cable from preamp output into UX1 front Mic XLRS input. 2) Mic into preamp input with XLRS cable --> XLRS cable from preamp output into UX1 1/4 Line input on the back? (which one? 2/R or 1/L?) thanks Leo

I'll make this fast, I'm using a Line 6 UX1. Running Windows 10 64-Bit latest full release version. Using a CAD GXL2200 with a phantom power box. (All working btw). My UX1 is lit green, and I have the windows 10 driver installed, 4.2.7.6. Latest version of PodFarm 2.59 and everything. Here's my issue, every time I launch up PodFarm I have no Mic input going in. (Now as an FYI, I recently had to fresh reset my PC, before hand the mic was working just fine) I've tried everything from re-installing the driver, or re-installing everything Line 6. I've even disabled all other audio drivers/devices. Now here's some info that might help, when I do unplug a microphone, for a second there is a a little green line on input, meaning that some sort of feed goes in. If you have ANY advice, I'll be happy to take it. Also before you ask, I have a very high end PC (16 GB Ram, FX-4850 CPU, GTX 970), and yes everything physical including the box and phantom power box are running fine. Thank you! :D UPDATE: So I discovered that if at any point the UX1 Speakers receive any input of audio from the computer, the mic input will continuously create a loud static noise until I unplug and plug it back in...

I'm just getting used to Windows 10 on my laptop and would like to be able to do a little recording. Before plunking down several hundred on software, I was curious about the Recording Studio Pro app available on Windows 10. Has anyone tried it out with Pod Farm? -
I posted this under a general Win 10 topic yesterday but the thread went in another direction...so I'll post again in hopes that someone else is seeing this same issue. To clarify, audio works fine for most default applications and Toneport ASIO works fine in DAWs like Live, Reason & FL Studio. Other programs - those that need to see drivers other than ASIO - will not be able to use their driver unless the Toneport USB is disconnected. Please read through the post before offering standard troubleshooting advice - thanks. USB 2.0 & 3.0 were also tried. On 8/7, I posted this on the Audacity forums after trying to get this sorted out with a Cycling '74 tech over email. We definitely have a pattern here - I've been looking at this all day. Plug in an ASIO USB soundcard and Audacity does not "see" any MME, WASAPI or DirectSound drivers/devices. Unplug and Audacity comes up. Windows 10 upgrade (build 10240) Audacity 2.1.1 Line 6 Toneport UX1 - 4.2.7.4 driver Realtek High Def Audio on board - 6.0.1.7535 driver (was disabled until today) My audio cable setup now is the MME on board device feeding into the monitor in on the Toneport (a typical setup) This also happens for Cycling 74 Max 6 & 7 Max 4 Live in Ableton Live can open devices but can't edit I believe that MSP (associated with Max) can only run under MME as well, so there appears to be a link. Ableton Live 9.2 cannot see MME until USB is unplugged Reason 7.1.1 & FL Studio 11.1.1 can see everything all the time BTW the Toneport cannot be controlled by the Windows Audio tray icon (Control Panel applet). You can only change volume with the hardware knob on it. I've tried - writing to Cycling - they said the audio driver loads right before the Max program crashes - Using just the TonePort (my on board Realtek card has been disabled pre-Win 10 - I only enabled it in BIOS when I saw other users were having these types of results) - with Max 6, I uninstalled both 64 and 32 bit versions and then reinstalled 32...then reached for Max 6, 32 bit - only works if Toneport is unplugged - 41 and 48K for both devices - swapping default device - toggling the exclusive device checkboxes on both soundcards - reinstalling all the Line 6 software - suspiciously, their Win10 driver has a date of 2013 on it! I was subsequently asked on the Audacity forum if Audacity 2.0.3 worked, so I installed it into another folder and it worked...now if I can only get Max and Max4Live to work Of course, I'd rather use the latest Audacity. Hi everybody ! I have a problem with pod farm vst in reaper. I was recording song earlier today and i recorded only dry signal for each track. Then i added pod farm as fx to each of those track and everything was perfect. But then i saw that new version of pod farm available so i downloaded it and installed. now when i open my reaper project i only hear dry guitar though the pod farm is added as fx. There is also one more problem earlier i was using dual presets i mean with two amps now i cannot do that. please help me

Bonjour à tous. Pour m'enregistrer, le Pod Studio UX1 que j'ai acheté il y a quelques jours me semblait être un moyen parfait! Malheureusement, je n'ai même pas pu essayer le produit que les ennuis commencent... Je suis les instructions que je trouve sur la boîte et je me lance dans l'enregistrement de mon produit sur le site Line6, afin de pouvoir bénéficier des avantages. Mais, alors que je rentre le numéro de série, la date de commande et tout ce que l'on me demande sans erreur, on me dit qu'il y a une erreur et que mon produit n'est pas reconnu. Du coup, j'imagine que c'est pour cette raison que je n'arrive pas à ouvrir le logiciel Pof Farm 2 sur mon ordinateur sans que cela mette "Pod Farm 2 not authorized". Ou peut-être n'est ce pas pour cette raison et il y a autre chose qui ne va pas? Je vous avoue avoir du mal et me sentir dépassé par tout ça, si quelqu'un avait la gentillesse de m'aider en m'expliquant de façon détaillée ce que je peux faire je lui en serais très reconnaissant. So, I just got done with my exams, and decided to record some riffs I've been piling up. The problem is, when I try to record my guitar into my DAW (ableton live 9), the recorded signal has no sonic info past 10 kHz. I've tried disabling all EQs and cranking the treble and presence in pod farm to the maximum setting, but there's still a straight up cutoff with no frequencies past pretty much exactly 10kHz. Could it be a problem with my guitar (which I doubt, because the cutoff is so accurate) or the UX1? I've got no other guitars to plug in and test it with. -
So I recently purchased a Pod Studio UX 1 that also comes with PodFarm. I load up into PodFarm, find my MIC, set the bit-rates, etc. But here's my issue. I go into the audio control panel, and when I talk, I see that under Recording the UX1 interface doesn't show any movement of Audio. Yet in PodFarm 2.5 I see the audio in Input and Output move up and down. Where is it going? I have plugged my headphones into the PHONES jack on the front just like it says. I'm able to hear all of my PC's sounds, along with myself when talking into PodFarm with the effects. (Really wish I couldn't re-hear myself) When I do load into recording programs, the closest one I can get working is Adobe Audition, which makes me use ASIO. But as you know, the ASIO method is the worst when you're trying to use this with things like OBS and Skype. (Because then they won't take any MIC audio) So, if you could PLEASE HELP me, I wanna know where my audio is going. It seemed that I should just be able to plug my MIC into the UX1 and PodFarm should make an output through the Audio Interface in my Audio Control Panel. Am I missing something? Thanks for the help!
