  1. So I have had a UX2 for quite some time now... I upgraded to a focusrite scarlet 18i, but all that eqipment is in my studio.. To work on things from home I dug out my old UX2 and installed drivers and packs, but I can't find gearbox which allowed me to select inputs... currently I only have 1 working 1/4" input (line input 1) I cannot change that in my system settings... Also my pod farm II says it is not authorized and is giving me limited amp/effect models... How can I change the input to use the instrument and/or mic inputs like I used to?
  2. So I recently bought a ux2 that came with pod farm 2.5! I bought this just for my microphone because my old mic sucked. Well I have no clue how to use it to get a good sound. I change some settings and my mic just starts to become a echo and robotic voice! I was wondering if anyone know the perfect settings to get a perfect voice/sound from this program and if so what settings do you use? Thanks ~Garrett12243 (BTW My microphone is an Audio Technica at 2035)
  3. Are there any defference (especially in sound recording quality) between ux1 and ux2 ?
  4. I have removed the Line 6 UX2 from my Win 7 64-bit, desktop and uninstalled the Line 6 Monkey. However in Control Panel, there is still an item "Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices" listed. How do I remove that? I am still using POD Farm software, but I want to make sure everything related to the UX2 hardware has been removed. Any recommendations are appreciated.
  5. Hi, I've recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite and am experiencing issues with my tone port UX2. I've installed all the latest drivers and my tone port is lit up as if its working correctly. When outputting music through the analog outputs it works fine however as soon as i record enable audio tracks in Logic or even just open Gearbox or POD Farm 2 as standalone i get a huge amount of feedback coming through, even with no instruments etc plugged in. Just wondered if anybody recognised this issue and if they could help? it would be hugely appreciated as cant wait to get back to recording. Regards Dave
  6. Hi Guys, I have been using my UX2 to do all my recordings for different things. Unfortunatly I have recently updated to Mavricks 10.9.5 and just recently upgraded my Line Monkey, Drivers and Podfarm to the latest versions. Using my UX2 through Cubase 6.5 now inputs/ picks up the device and allows me to record, then when I try and play it back I cannot here anything. If anyone else using Cubase has had this problem let me know how you fixed it. I checked the entire installation method and all the manuals for my device and it is all seemingly correct apart from one section. In: Cubase >Devices>VST Connections > Outputs I can only select Not Connected or my UX2 and not my internal speakers. Any help or ideas would be extremely helpful, I am also checking out Cubase troubleshooting see what I can find. Thanks!
  7. Recently I upgraded computer systems, switching from a desktop Windows XP to a laptop Windows 8. Everything always worked fine on my XP, and everything has been working great during my time with this Windows 8. But the one difference is now the "CLIP" light is always on on the Pod. So... Why is this happening? And should I be concerned about it? (if the answer to 2. is yes) How can I fix it? Thanks for any help.
  8. I've had the UX2 for quite sometime and never got a footswitch for it it so I decided to make one . Since I have the basic hand tools. a drill/drills, soldering iron/related tools, light wire and quarter inch 6 ft guitar cables all I needed was 2 quarter inch mono jacks, 2 momentary switches (light duty) and a box all of which I found at Radio Shack. I added 1 more switch and jack so I can run to something else tha'll use a momentary switch. It works great and It makes the UX2 so much better. GearBox TonePort Setup PDF Rowbinet's YouTube video about using the software
  9. I bought my line 6 POD studio ux2 yesterday and I can't get this crackling sound to go away, and it's getting recorded as well. It will disappear if I remove the power cable from the mac, but I would rather not have to do that everytime I record. When the power cable is plugged in the sound even gets worse when I move the "mouse arrow" around. I have OSX 10.8.4 and is recording with Logic pro X 10.0.7 Many thanks for any suggestions! /Nils
  10. Hello, For a few months now I'm having this problem with my setup. I have the Tannoy Reveal 402 monitors connected to the UX2 via unbalanced PL connection. For the first few weeks I had the monitors, they worked great. Then, everytime I turned them on, the soundcard stopped working and crashed (no orange lights) and when I turned the monitors back off, the UX2 worked again. I replaced one of the monitors for new Tannoy Reveal 402, and the same problem occured. Then I sent it for a fix and they did find something, but the problem still occurs. I emailed Tannoy about this problem and this was their response: What do you guys think can be the problem? The UX2 can be on for hours but when I turn the monitors he crashes.
  11. I installed my UX2 on my new pc and downloaded latest version of PODFarm (2.57) from line6 site. As it was first installed on my old pc, I ran the licenser and authorized both pc and the device. Problem : I have NO preset tones in it! I remember when I installed it on my old pc I found A LOT of great and useful tone, all already present in it, but now the library is empty! I found some presets clicking on 'open' tones in the 'gear box'->'tones' folder, but they are less and different from those I had (Some I remember were 'Glass', 'Acoustic', Get the funk out', 'Outer Space' etc.) , but I have to open these new ones one by one, and save them one by one to have them in the library...... How / where can I find all the old ones and import them back in the library? I really need to find those tones, can anyone help me? Thank you very much!!
  12. Hi, I have a UX2 and I've been using very well in the version pod Farm 2.56, and the upgrade to 2.57 began to fail, pro tools left to recognize, then the PC no longer did, even though I install the drivers again and again does not recognize the UX2, just stays flashing lights clip. Core i7 64 bits 4 RAM Win 7 Please help, thanks
  13. Sorry I am new to the line 6 forum so i don't know where to post for this problem I am having. I have a brand new pod studio ux2. Whenever I try to record or monitor, the tones just sound too terrible to play with because they are covered in static noise, especially when there is distortion. The more distortion, the more crackeling/static. It happens even when just monitoring directly from the pod farm. I download preset's offline, but they sound way worse and full of static-y noise compared to the online previews of the tone. For example, I downloaded this preset off of youtube: On the youtube video, it sounds great and completely clear. But when i monitor the same exact tone on my pod farm, it is covered in static which makes it really not easy to listen to at all, and gives it a completely different feel than what it is supposed to sound like. Please see the attached file to see what the downloaded tone displayed on that youtube video sounds like for me. The guitar I use is a schecter blacjack, which is a pretty nice guitar model. I think mine in particular however has damaged pickups because it is really hard to hear the tone on most special amp effects, and is only really hearable on distorted or clean tones, but even the sound can fade depending on where I am playing. Also there is a couple buzzing problems with my strings so my guitar isn't in the best shape. However i don't really have the same static problem at all when I use that guitar on my spider iv 75 amp. It sound's a lot clearer. So that makes me more unsure on what is causing the static problem with the ux2/pod farm. Does anyone know what could be causing all of that static noise when i use my ux2/pod farm? Aside from my crappy playing, you can definintely hear the difference in actual quality when comparing my recording of the downloaded preset tone, to the youtube video preview of the actual tone. crackely_as_lollipop.mp3
  14. Hi all-- I've had the UX-2 for SEVERAL years now and I am trying to get footswitch #1 to work in sonar X1 producer as a sustain pedal. I followed the directions in the manuals to no avail. Everything seems to be set right? I'm attaching a screenshot just in case. Thanks!
  15. Hello there.. I am very new to any computer recording whatsoever.I have a pc laptop. I am looking to start recording some basic guitar tracks, and then hopefully some vocals over that. I would like to do all of this from my laptop, on a fairly tight budget. I am thinking of using reaper. Does anyone reccommend Reaper? Pros/Cons? What type of interface should I use? Can i use my mk2 express as an interface? Thanks for any help....
  16. I am currently attempting to properly connect my Edirol MA10D Powered Speaker Monitors to my Line 6 UX2 toneport. For now I have it hooked up from the headphone jack of the UX2 device (1/8 inch cable with 1/4 adapter), to the line inputs behind the speaker monitor (other end of cable splits into left and right RCA jacks seen in photo: http://www.sweetwater.com/images/closeup/750-ma10d_img_rear.jpg). The problem is I am concerned this is not the optimal way to connect my speakers. I am also concerned this will cause latency when recording and with playback. I tried plugging the cable into one of the "Analog outputs" found on the back of the UX2, but the sound quality isn't nearly as good and the volume is not as loud. What is the correct way to connect my make/model speakers to the Line6 US2 toneport? Maybe go from left and right RCA line inputs to both Analog outputs??? Thank you.
  17. Hello! I'm having some serious issues with the Line 6 TonePort UX2 model interface. I have gearbox all set up along with Reaper as well to start tracking guitar, bass, drums, etc. But whenever I plug my guitar into the Instrument Input (i.e. Normal input on the front) I get no sound coming from my computer. I'm not sure if the 1/4-inch headphones are really required in order to run the system through a computer and listen to it, or if I can just listen to what I'm play directly through the interface to the computer. So my questions are as follows: 1. How to I get sound out of my interface to my computer to listen to what I'm doing in real time? 2. What would be the proper settings to set on the interface to listen to what I'm doing through the speakers on the computer? I'd also like to know how to record what I'm doing. Whether I have to record through gear box to reaper, or record a track separate on gear box, then master it on reaper? 3. How do I record with the TonePort UX2? 4. How do I get it set up with/through the reaper program?
  18. Hello. My problem is the difference of the sound while monitoring and the sound of the recorded track. I use the PodStudio UX2 with PodFarm 2.57 (Standalone) and Cubase 7. I'm montoring with the Sony SMS-1P. While I play the guitar on hi-gain I hear the nice bright sound, but when I listen to the recorded track, the sound seems to be more dry and "grey", there is more sand in it. And when I play it on clean, the monitoring sound is bright and light but when i listen it in cubase, it's rather deeper, dirtier and not bright at all. I record in 96kHz, 24bit (i set it in project setup in Cubase). I also tried to make a bigger asio buffer size, but i can't see the difference, and i don't know the optimal value for the better quality. So, any thoughts about this?
  19. Does anyone know if there is a way to set up any sort of footswitch (maybe MIDI) to toggle through tones in Pod Farm? I have a ux1 running into a Mac Book Pro. I'm trying to make Pod Farm hands free. Let me know if you have any info. Thanks!
  20. I just purchased Guitar Pro 6 and I want to directly capture my (guitar, keyboards, etc) in order to write the tabulature. I know that the GP6 can capture midi files directly. Can I use my UX2 to capture midi while playing? I use reaper as my recording software and POD Farm 2 for tones. Would I need any additional software or devices to be able to do this? Thanks for any help that you can give me
  21. Although I can hear both vocals and guitar through my UX2, I can't seem to find any way of recording two separate mono tracks at the same time using Reaper as my DAW. Basically I want to record my guitar and vocals at the same time, then end up with two tracks that I can play about with and mix later on. I can get the UX2 to send the guitar out on channel 1-2 and the vocal out on channel 3-4 but when it comes to recording it in to Reaper, I really am stuck. On Reaper I can select my first input as input 1 (or 2) and the guitar records fine, but the second input 3 (or 4) is totally dead when I sing into the mic. If anyone has done this successfully on Reaper pls let me know. I have wasted a few hours trying to figure this out myself and all the google answers seem to be based on very old versions of Reaper :-/ Help! Here is my set up: UX2 using PodFarm2 Reaper latest version (Jan 2014) Windows 7 SM 58 Mic/Epiphone electric guitar And screenshots attached on what I have attempted so far, the UX2 set up I have, Main Reaper view and audio settings on Reaper. Thanks.
  22. Hi there... I've Googled round for a lot of my answers, but just need some final confirmations. I have just got the UX2 and now I am after an expression pedal. Not too fussed about assignments, I just want a basic wah facility. Is there a cheap and cheerful solution? What about the FBV MKII - will this work with the UX2? Cheers, Lee PS - no metronome on the UX2 - have I missed something?
  23. Hi, I'm having a few problems with connecting these two devices. I've set the UX2 up to recognize the mic so I'm getting signal and can hear it but I have to crank the input gain to about 9 to get anything decent out of it! And I'm using the word "decent" very lightly. The resulting sound is full of reverb and noise. I'm wondering if this is a general problem when using a UX2 and a condenser mic. I've borrowed this mic off a friend who uses it with a Sapphire Pro 14 and he gets beautiful recordings. Clear and crisp. Do I need to amp the signal before it reaches the UX2 preamp? Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks Patrick
  24. Hello, I'm from Brazil, sorry for my english mistakes in this post! My line 6 was perfect, but a few weeks ago it started to presented problems... When I use the Nuendo 4, or GearBox, or Guitarig, the sound of my guitar is ok! I mean, the Input is ok!!! But, when I´m using other player programs from windows, like Winamp, Media Player, YouTube and others, the "output" sound just crash and the sound freeze!!! So I open Nuendo 4, or Gearbox, and the sound of my guitar (input) is ok! But mp3 sounds and videos no... I'm trying to found the solution for that problem for weeks in Foruns of Microsoft, Line 6, and others... Some people are talking about AUDIODG.EXE or Windows Audio Device Graphic Isolation! This devices started when I run any audio archive im my computer! But I don't no how to fix it... I have Windows 8.1. My drivers are updated! How can I fix that issue? Thanks anyway!
  25. So I have just downloaded podfarm 1 from the line6 page and I can't get any of the tones to load. I have owned a UX2 for years and now find that gearbox no longer works. I have registered my UX2 with the line6 monkey but cant find a way to register podfarm. the error i get when i try to load a tone is "failed to load tone" "(code 80001003) access denied to file or folder." any help would be greatly appreciated. gearbox used to work perfectly.
