  1. Hey, I have a Line 6 POD UX2 and I have all the drivers updated and everything is updated (Line 6 Monkey, Pod Farm 2.5, etc) and I have the AT2035 connected to the Line 6 POD UX2 with Phantom Power ON but its still not working :( Please help, I'm on a Mac D: Thanks -Zack
  2. Hello, yesterday i bought an footswitch for my line6 UX2 (Boss FS-5U) which works fine with gearbox, It was automatically detected as "stomp", but i can only use the presets for the stomp (Fuzz Pi, Facial Fuzz, Classic Distortion, Screamer, Sub Octaves and so on). But i want to use my own settings, because there are only 10 presets which are not the bests - is this possible?
  3. Hello, I plan to buy a pedal - footswitch for my device POD Studio UX2 . I contacted the service center lines 6 , but I'm not satisfied with the answer . Could you recommend some specific foot switch , using for example ? Thank you for your response . Thomas Mohr
  4. I bought my UX2 one year ago and it worked fine. I've been recording voice and instrument tracks last year without problem. Today, after months without using my UX2, I wanted to record an instrument track, but when I pluged my guitar and selected the instrument input in POD Farm 2 nothing happened. The analog panel of the UX2 shows that it's not receiving input signal. I already checked the guitar and the cable on my amp and they work fine so the problem is from the UX2. I tried then with my mic and that input works fine, and my UX2 is receiving the feedback signal from my computer too. What can I do to make the instrument input work again?
  5. Hey there. I tried searching around for a topic that might help me resolve the issues I seem to be having, but everything I have tried seems to be failing. Im using Reaper with my UX2.I have a Seinheisse E825 S running in with an XLR using either Gearbox or PodFarm I was trying to run the channel in dry,as I want it sound as natural as possible as I have it mic'd up to my HD147,but when I record, the volume seems to be incredibly low on playback. Can anyone tell me if I might be doing something worng? I also seem to get latency issues through my headphones when playing. Im completely stumped, but if any other info is needed to help me get up and running (I'm kinda new to this,so I could even be wrong with some of the terminology Im using) I can provide it,and I'd be grateful for any help
  6. Hello everyone, I'm having trobule with S/PDIF on Line 6 UX -2. I'm using windows 7, and cubase 5 and motherboard is Gigabyte GA - MA770-UD3... I connected S/PDIF cable on motherboard and on the UX2. On sound manager I put to Default device (Playback) is "Realtek High Definition Audio" and so in Realtek HD Audio Manager. When I play some music on my PC, the 'vu metar' is showing me to something is playing on Realtek Digital Output, but I can't hear anything on my speakers, when I changed to the default device is "Line 6 UX 2" I can hear music on my speakers... So, can anyone help me about this? Thanks
  7. Hello, I want to purchase new long usb cable for connecting my UX2 to my computer. I found on internet a Cable Usb Male A Male B but it's written that the B plug isn't compatible with 2.0 USB because it's a 3.0 USB cable. So no problem with the A plug because my PC is compatible USB 3.0, but I wonder if the UX2 is also compatible USB 3.0. Moreover I have the same question with my controller M-AUDIO Keystation 69 es if anyone ever used it... Did anyone have the answer ? PS : I'm french, sorry for my english, I do my best !
  8. Hello! First off, I really enjoy using your products. I own a toneport ux2 that I've had since about '09 and it still works great! I've had to update drivers when I update my operating system, but other than that, I have had to do nothing as far as maintenance - I have absolutely no complaints at all. Anyway, about 5 years ago, I bought a ux2 for my mother to use with her MacBook Pro. (She is a phenomenal singer by the way...) She essentially has the same set up that I have used and enjoyed. Well, I have struggled to make it work with her computer for years now. I am finally at my wits end...! Here's the scenario... She has: MacBook Pro (MacBook Pro 8,2) with a 2 GHz Intel core i7 processor Memory is 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Running OS X 10.6.8 The toneport ux2 was purchased in late 2010, around the same time as the computer. The software that came with the unit wouldn't work with the computer for some reason. I have the same setup from '09 and it was really a plug and play situation, everything worked great and still does. Today I was finally able to locate the correct drivers to allow the ux2 to work with her computer - finally a victory! Now, the computer itself recognizes the ux2 as a viable piece of hardware, lists it in system preferences as both an option for sound input and output and lights up normally. Sound is sent through the ux2 just fine and is sent through her studio speakers that are hooked up to the back of the ux2, again in a normal fashion, just like it's supposed to. The problem comes from the gearbox software, which does not seem to recognize the ux2 hardware. I can load the gearbox software as if it was hooked up to the ux2 (which it is) and it loads fine and the screen looks right once it loads, but it still doesn't seem to be able to recognize and input signal coming from the ux2. Yes, the usb icon is blinking. All she has plugged into the ux2 is a bluebird condenser mic. But for some reason, the signal from that mic or any other mic is just not recognized or processed by the ux2. I can go into her system preferences on her MacBook Pro and select the ux2 as her input and output options - The ux2 itself is listed and recognized by the computer as viable input and output options, but no sound or input signal is recognized by the ux2 gauges or is recorded by her recording program. She is using GarageBand as her recording software, which is also what I use on my similar setup as well. I've looked online and on line6 forums to try to find people describing similar problems, which I have found a few, but most of the links in those older forums describing how to take care of the problem(s) are no longer valid or even exist at all. So...can you please help me?? I really want and need to get this working for her! My father (mom's husband obviously) has recently passed away and has devastated my mother - she needs something to help bring her life in balance again. The one constant in my mother's life has always been her music and she is depressed enough with everything else that has been going on in her life without having to stare at her non-working recording hardware that just sits on her desk, mocking her - do you know what I mean? I am trying to be the good son and take care of this situation but it just keeps fighting me. Every time I overcome one obstacle another one pops up a little further down the line, keeping her from being able to sing, record, and escape her "normal" life. I'd giver her my setup, or buy her something new but I just can't afford it right at the moment. Can you Please help me?? What do I need to do to get her going? Any help would be Greatly appreciated!! Thank you soooo much for the help and understanding...!!
  9. Hello all! Hoping you can help me with an issue I have only been having as of late. After the recent reformat of my hard drive, and installation of the latest UX2 drivers, whenever I have my DAW (Cubase 6.5) open, it will not allow me to play any audio outside of the DAW. This has never been a problem before. For instance, if I were to compare my mix in Cubase to something on YouTube or iTunes, I would get an message saying that the sound card encountered an error. Yet everything in my DAW still plays to perfection. It is as if the sound card could only be occupied by one program at a time, however when I had Pod Farm open, it still plays that flawlessly, just nothing outside of Pod Farm or Cubase. I have Windows 7. Like I said, this had never been an issue before. Could this have something to do with settings inside of my DAW? It seems to me like it's more related to the set up of the sound card (UX2). Any comments? Questions? Answers? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
  10. Hello All, Wondering if someone has something to share on this topic: I am wondering if I can use my UX2 to record a guitar lesson for TrueFire. TrueFire uses their own sort of streaming player/recorder. I have a PC with Windows. I want to use my UX2 to record video (logitech webcam), guitar and their jamtrack. Can I use the Podfarm 2.5 standalone software to accomplish this? I'd really like to keep it simple. It came with Reason Limited. Will I have to use that? I did figure out how to get a mic (sm57) and the guitar working with the webcam to record the lesson. The guitar sounds are sweet! It seems like I should be able to input the backing track from an ipod into one of the line inputs instead of mic'ing my Bose speaker unit through the XLR input. I have been working hard to figure out how to accomplish this, but seems like I'm groping around a lot. Thank You so much! Jim
  11. I have found some scaterred info on the MIDI topic, but not exactly what I want, so here it is: I wanted to use the POD XT Live as a foot controller for POD Farm/UX 2. Is it possible via MIDI? And if yes, to what extent (like, can I use the expression pedal to work with volume/wah/bender)? I have both the USB cable and a M-Audio UNO. Thanks in advance
  12. Sorry I am new to the line 6 forum so i don't know where to post for this problem I am having. I have a brand new pod studio ux2. Whenever I try to record or monitor, the tones just sound too terrible to play with because they are covered in static noise, especially when there is distortion. The more distortion, the more crackeling/static. It happens even when just monitoring directly from the pod farm. I download preset's offline, but they sound way worse and full of static-y noise compared to the online previews of the tone. For example, I downloaded this preset off of youtube: On the youtube video, it sounds great and completely clear. But when i monitor the same exact tone on my pod farm, it is covered in static which makes it really not easy to listen to at all, and gives it a completely different feel than what it is supposed to sound like. Please see the attached file to see what the downloaded tone displayed on that youtube video sounds like for me. The guitar I use is a schecter blacjack, which is a pretty nice guitar model. I think mine in particular however has damaged pickups because it is really hard to hear the tone on most special amp effects, and is only really hearable on distorted or clean tones, but even the sound can fade depending on where I am playing. Also there is a couple buzzing problems with my strings so my guitar isn't in the best shape. However i don't really have the same static problem at all when I use that guitar on my spider iv 75 amp. It sound's a lot clearer. So that makes me more unsure on what is causing the static problem with the ux2/pod farm. Does anyone know what could be causing all of that static noise when i use my ux2/pod farm? Aside from my crappy playing, you can definintely hear the difference in actual quality when comparing my recording of the downloaded preset tone, to the youtube video preview of the actual tone. crackely_as_lollipop.mp3
  13. So I have had a UX2 for quite some time now... I upgraded to a focusrite scarlet 18i, but all that eqipment is in my studio.. To work on things from home I dug out my old UX2 and installed drivers and packs, but I can't find gearbox which allowed me to select inputs... currently I only have 1 working 1/4" input (line input 1) I cannot change that in my system settings... Also my pod farm II says it is not authorized and is giving me limited amp/effect models... How can I change the input to use the instrument and/or mic inputs like I used to?
  14. Are there any defference (especially in sound recording quality) between ux1 and ux2 ?
  15. I have removed the Line 6 UX2 from my Win 7 64-bit, desktop and uninstalled the Line 6 Monkey. However in Control Panel, there is still an item "Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices" listed. How do I remove that? I am still using POD Farm software, but I want to make sure everything related to the UX2 hardware has been removed. Any recommendations are appreciated.
  16. Hi, I've recently upgraded to OS X Yosemite and am experiencing issues with my tone port UX2. I've installed all the latest drivers and my tone port is lit up as if its working correctly. When outputting music through the analog outputs it works fine however as soon as i record enable audio tracks in Logic or even just open Gearbox or POD Farm 2 as standalone i get a huge amount of feedback coming through, even with no instruments etc plugged in. Just wondered if anybody recognised this issue and if they could help? it would be hugely appreciated as cant wait to get back to recording. Regards Dave
  17. Hi Guys, I have been using my UX2 to do all my recordings for different things. Unfortunatly I have recently updated to Mavricks 10.9.5 and just recently upgraded my Line Monkey, Drivers and Podfarm to the latest versions. Using my UX2 through Cubase 6.5 now inputs/ picks up the device and allows me to record, then when I try and play it back I cannot here anything. If anyone else using Cubase has had this problem let me know how you fixed it. I checked the entire installation method and all the manuals for my device and it is all seemingly correct apart from one section. In: Cubase >Devices>VST Connections > Outputs I can only select Not Connected or my UX2 and not my internal speakers. Any help or ideas would be extremely helpful, I am also checking out Cubase troubleshooting see what I can find. Thanks!
  18. I've had the UX2 for quite sometime and never got a footswitch for it it so I decided to make one . Since I have the basic hand tools. a drill/drills, soldering iron/related tools, light wire and quarter inch 6 ft guitar cables all I needed was 2 quarter inch mono jacks, 2 momentary switches (light duty) and a box all of which I found at Radio Shack. I added 1 more switch and jack so I can run to something else tha'll use a momentary switch. It works great and It makes the UX2 so much better. GearBox TonePort Setup PDF Rowbinet's YouTube video about using the software
  19. Recently I upgraded computer systems, switching from a desktop Windows XP to a laptop Windows 8. Everything always worked fine on my XP, and everything has been working great during my time with this Windows 8. But the one difference is now the "CLIP" light is always on on the Pod. So... Why is this happening? And should I be concerned about it? (if the answer to 2. is yes) How can I fix it? Thanks for any help.
  20. Hello, For a few months now I'm having this problem with my setup. I have the Tannoy Reveal 402 monitors connected to the UX2 via unbalanced PL connection. For the first few weeks I had the monitors, they worked great. Then, everytime I turned them on, the soundcard stopped working and crashed (no orange lights) and when I turned the monitors back off, the UX2 worked again. I replaced one of the monitors for new Tannoy Reveal 402, and the same problem occured. Then I sent it for a fix and they did find something, but the problem still occurs. I emailed Tannoy about this problem and this was their response: What do you guys think can be the problem? The UX2 can be on for hours but when I turn the monitors he crashes.
  21. I bought my line 6 POD studio ux2 yesterday and I can't get this crackling sound to go away, and it's getting recorded as well. It will disappear if I remove the power cable from the mac, but I would rather not have to do that everytime I record. When the power cable is plugged in the sound even gets worse when I move the "mouse arrow" around. I have OSX 10.8.4 and is recording with Logic pro X 10.0.7 Many thanks for any suggestions! /Nils
  22. I installed my UX2 on my new pc and downloaded latest version of PODFarm (2.57) from line6 site. As it was first installed on my old pc, I ran the licenser and authorized both pc and the device. Problem : I have NO preset tones in it! I remember when I installed it on my old pc I found A LOT of great and useful tone, all already present in it, but now the library is empty! I found some presets clicking on 'open' tones in the 'gear box'->'tones' folder, but they are less and different from those I had (Some I remember were 'Glass', 'Acoustic', Get the funk out', 'Outer Space' etc.) , but I have to open these new ones one by one, and save them one by one to have them in the library...... How / where can I find all the old ones and import them back in the library? I really need to find those tones, can anyone help me? Thank you very much!!
  23. Hi, I have a UX2 and I've been using very well in the version pod Farm 2.56, and the upgrade to 2.57 began to fail, pro tools left to recognize, then the PC no longer did, even though I install the drivers again and again does not recognize the UX2, just stays flashing lights clip. Core i7 64 bits 4 RAM Win 7 Please help, thanks
  24. Hi all-- I've had the UX-2 for SEVERAL years now and I am trying to get footswitch #1 to work in sonar X1 producer as a sustain pedal. I followed the directions in the manuals to no avail. Everything seems to be set right? I'm attaching a screenshot just in case. Thanks!
  25. Hello there.. I am very new to any computer recording whatsoever.I have a pc laptop. I am looking to start recording some basic guitar tracks, and then hopefully some vocals over that. I would like to do all of this from my laptop, on a fairly tight budget. I am thinking of using reaper. Does anyone reccommend Reaper? Pros/Cons? What type of interface should I use?
