  1. Hello dear users, Do one of you know a proper way to unplug the Line 6 Pod Studio (UX2) from a Mac ? Because sometimes it cause a crash, and restart the computer. Thank you in advance !
  2. I've been trying to figure this out but I'm utterly lost. I've been trying to record. I have a UX2 interface and a RODE NT1A microphone, and use Audacity (I know, I know). But whenever I try to record something, it doesn't pick up the mic at all. At all, like not even very quietly. It only records loud static. I can't tell whether the problem is with the mic or the interface or the software or what. I've never used equipment like this before, so I have no idea what to do. I've played with settings in PODFarm and have gotten nowhere, only slightly quieter static.
  3. Hey Everyone, I've been trying to get assistance out of Line 6 but it has been about as productive as asking a brick wall to sort out my drama's so I thought I'd give this a shot. Recently bought a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 7000) and for some reason whenever I open POD Farm all other audio is muted. I have the UX2 selected as the playback device and all audio plays through the device until I open POD Farm. As soon as I open the app all external audio stops and even if I hit play in iTunes or Guitar Pro there is silence. If I close POD Farm the audio cuts back in. I have looked through settings in POD Farm and can't seem to find anything. Never had this drama previously with an old crappy HP laptop. Basically just want to be able to jam to some songs whilst playing but it seems I can only have one audio source playing. I am using the Tone direct drivers and not ASIO4ALL. Have tried using ASIO4ALL but the audio doesn't come through as clear and seems like there is a higher latency. Anyone ever had this drama?
  4. Hey there! Here is the deal: Yesterday for the first time I tried recording direct input guitar using my UX2. I'm using an active guitar and the manual says specifically that in this case you need to connect your guitar to the PAD input. I did exactly that, but the resulting wave was very small and barely audible. This makes it impossible to work with, because I can't really hear if I'm playing the part correctly and I also can't see where to crop the take. I tried switching to the NORM pad and suddenly the result was perfect. I could both see and hear everything very well now. But the manual says I'm supposed to be clipping if i use an active instrument with the NORM input. But I'm not. It just works. In the attachments you'll find the snapshots of both NORM and PAD input takes. What am I doing wrong? Is my interface broken? Thanks! NORM INPUT.bmp PAD INPUT.bmp
  5. Hi, I am hoping someone can help me. I was bought a UX2 for Chrismas which I am now using as my interface when recording in to the DAW (I use reaper). Pod Farm 2 works fine as a stand alone program as in I can hear it and modify tones etc... I have managed to record the wet and dry tones into reaper but when I come to add Pod Farm as a plug in effect to the dry track I encounter problems. I can select Pod Farm 2 as the plugin and it opens the User Interface but there is no input signal showing in Pod Farm. I can hear the dry guitar signal playing back but there is no input showing on the meter in the plugin and no matter what presets I select no effect is added. Ideally I want to record dry tracks and add/tweak effects later so am eager to work out how to add these effects to a dry guitar track. What am I doing wrong? Is something routed incorrectly in either PodFarm or Reaper? Can someone help?
  6. Hello, I want to connect my minibrute synthesizer to my ux2. I am using ableton Live9, If i connect my minibrute to my laptop through usb it works as a midi controller, but I would like to fully utilize my synth by connecting it to my ux2 soundcard. Any idea, how to connect it? Thank you
  7. Hi. My Toneport ux2 won't connect to gearbox on my mac... Is this simply because LIne6 haven't released the macOS Sierra version of Gearbox? If so does anyone know when this will be released? Cheers
  8. Once I updated my Macbook Pro late 2013 to MacOS Sierra 10.12 the UX2 usb audio interface crashes the computer. Everytime I plug in the ux2 interface, the computer immediately restarts and gives the error message (white text on black background). I have tried both of my Mac's usb slots, tried taking everything off of the interface (monitors etc.) and tried it with and without power cable on my computer. Also, when I try to start my computer while the UX2 is plugged in, the Mac's starting screen has some white error messages and then the computer restarts. Nothing helps. So atm I CAN'T USE THE INTERFACE AT ALL. Pod Farm software doesn't seem to have any problems. Please tell me if you've had these problems or you can help.
  9. how can I configure my DAW to use the UX2 and its ASIO driver as the audio input/output device? been trying to do it for the past 2 hours. Only thing working is that the microphone can pick up sound but I can't use it in Skype or w.e.
  10. I have a ux2 connected to my Laney irt studio playing through my orange 1x12. While using pod farm i am able to hear and change the effects ( treble, mid, bass, boost, gain) of my Laney irt studio and pod farm at the same time. It sounds crappy. How can i turn off the sound from the Laney irt studio while still using it to play through my orange 1x12?
  11. I bought (and registered) a black UX2 in 2009 and have been using it issue free (for the most part) until a few months ago. It was purchased from a retail store, brand new. My computer crashed a few months ago after I installed Windows 10 and I had to re-install Windows 10 (if that matters at all). I have always had access to POD Farm 2, but now I don't. My online Line 6 account says I haven't purchased anything (when I click 'My Software' from the License Manager. The UX2 was registered in 2009, Line 6 Monkey says I have POD Farm 2.59, and License Manager says I have FX Junkie. What's going on?
  12. I am running a tone port ux2 into logic 9 on El Capitan (10.11.6) with the most recent driver update for everything. My computer and logic recognize my tone port ux2 as an interface, but no sound can be heard and the level needles are not moving. Any solutions? I guess I should note that my computer will not allow me to install gearbox, which seemed to be key in past operating systems. Thanks
  13. I have been having a myriad of problems with Pod Farm and UX2! As much as I love the products of Line 6, this is really starting to get to me, which is why I am posting here. This has been going on for quite some time, so let me explain some problems: The first time I starting noticing problems was when I (I know many people suggest not doing this, but it works anyway) was using my UX2 as a sound card, which ran fine for several months, but all of a sudden, the sound just goes out. Symptoms: Unplugging it from there and plugging back in makes the two red clipping lights begin to bounce back and forth with no response from the UX2 // I am forced to restart my computer Attempts: I have tried reinstalling all the drivers, updated Windows 10, and nothing changes. The second problem I know have is when I am recording with Cubase 8 Elements. I have Pod Farm as a VST on the DAW, but occasionally, Pod Farm decides to stop working, with the error in the tuner section saying "Failed to connect to driver streaming engine." Symptoms: No tones come from Pod Farm, no input detected, or output // I am forced to either restart my computer, or reinstall Pod Farm and all the drivers. These are the main problems I want to tackle first, but I just wish that I could fully enjoy these quality products. Please take notice of my problems and address them so that I may finally find a fix. Thanks! Setup: MSI GE70 Apache Notebook - i7 processor - 12GB of RAM - 1 HDD - Nvidia GTX 960M If you need more details, please let me know.
  14. Trying to set up my UX2 with new Surface Book, Win10. Direct USB (no dock), tried both USB jacks, loaded Monkey and all drivers updated, 1/4 cable inserted and input on Instrument in mixer settings, tried multiple cables (USB and guitar) and multiple guitars. Using headphone jack (tried multiple headphones). Uninstalled all drivers and software, reloaded with no change. I was using this on my Win7 pc 2 days ago, no issues. Tried to load on new laptop, meters not moving (hardware set to show input). I purchased the PodFarm 2.59 and it's authenticated. I'm out of ideas, please help.
  15. Hello, I've been using UX2 for several years but I can't record and use audio softwares anymore. I noticed when I run POD Farm 2 or any audio soft (Gear Box, Ableton, POD Farm...) it stops working and the clip leds start to flicker. I think it's a driver/authorisation problem because when there's no audio software running it works. I checked license manager and monkey: my device is authorized and everything's updated. I'm running on Mac OS X 10.6.8, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8Go Ram DDR3, 512Go SSD I can't understant what's wrong... Has anyone a solution for that issue? Thank you!
  16. Hi everybody, i would try to do my best in english speaking (because i'm french). I ve just bought, in a bargain deal, the line 6 ux2 audio interface which needs to be recognize on my pc by the firmware pod farm 2.5. This firmware was included in the pack by a cd. But my pc doesn't have a disk driver to run it, and I dont know how I can run it without the disk. Thank you to understand :D kiss from France ;)
  17. Hello there. I'm a UX2 user like 5 years, which i've been gifted by my uncle in USA. Once, i had not any problems, while i was using Windows 7 i suppose. Then in time, some problems started to occur. Biggest one was -and still is- that, all of a sudden sound is gone and i don't have any option but to restart my computer. Either playing a game or watching a video, listening to music, all of a sudden, bam! Sound is gone and nothing helps but a restart! And it also randomly happens again after a restart as well. I started to have this problem in Windows 7, had in 8 and now in 10 it still happens. I did not change any computer part since then (cpu, mobo etc.) Besides, i've not got a second problem, which freaks me out often. As before, during any playback, a loud "white noise-ish" distort occurs for a second or two, then playback continues. This happens quite randomly, sometimes twice in 10 seconds, sometimes once, sometimes never. I've tried every driver i can, the oldest and the newest ones, tried changing the buffer sizes, buffer lengths, depths etc. What's more interesting is, this problems do not happen for two or three weeks, and the week after, it's an absolute nightmare! It's like, as if it has something to do with the days of the months! I do not overclock, my system is all stable and not overheated during even the hardest gaming sessions. I'm quite fed up with this problem. One day, i'll break the hell out of this device and post the images as an ultimate solution for the people who have such problems as well.. Please, i beg you; please help me!
  18. Hi guys, I've got a problem with my PodFarm (I use it with UX2). When I've changed my GX to UX2 i was super happy beacause i had way more amps and effects there. After I've reinstalled my computer system (I'm working on Windows 8) I had some problems with installing PodFarm and with registration on Line 6. Now it's working but I have just two guitar and bass amps and few effects. What should I do to get more sounds? Please, help me.
  19. I just installed Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan on my MacBook Air. I waited a while to install this specifically because the Line 6 drivers are always bad early on. Sure enough, I've updated my drivers and now when I output from my Toneport UX2 using the analog outs into my monitors or through my headphones there's a constant crackling noise coming out. Please help me fix this.
  20. hello i cant get any sound from my guitar. i simplified it and went straight through pod farm i can see the sound bars at top right move when i strum but no sound. im using a pod ux2

  22. Please help me diagnose the problem I'm having so I can finally, finally get recording. I have owned this product for close to 3 years and it still isn't doing anything for me. I bought the UX2 in the hopes that I could begin some basic, rudimentary, at-home recording. I plugged it in and installed it and it worked great -- right up until I started recording. Every single recording that I create with my UX2 sounds like garbage. I have not had the time or money to try a new box or new software after sinking hours and hours into this one, tweaking this and that in hopes that I might find the problem. When I play live, it sounds great on my monitor. When I record it, the recording comes out muddy, noisy, and greatly reduced in quality. I can't use any of this! Here are example recordings. When I play live, these tones sound great -- clear, rich, low-end performance-quality. Listen to them and tell me something isn't wrong with this product. https://www.dropbox.com/s/238lqudzkb96kym/33.wav?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/j464nw579nmeajc/22.wav?dl=0 Steps I have taken to fix the problem: 1. Changing DAWs. - I have used Audacity, Reason, Audition, Cakewalk, and Ableton. All of them have the exact same issue, so I have to conclude that it is either the box or the software. 2. Changing settings - I have checked the bitrate (16bits 44100) - I have recorded dry and then added Pod Farm effects as a VST. - I have checked volume and signal levels. - I have tried with and without distortion -- the loss of quality is the same with both. - I have changed windows settings to see if that's the issue. - I have run my programs by themselves with all other programs shut off in case it was a processor issue (my computer is fairly powerful, 6Gb ram, dual core 2.6Ghz) 3. Uninstall and reinstall - No change 4. Used the low-gain input - still a loss of quality.
  23. So I have just recently bought a XLR microphone for doing livestreams but I want to have control over multi effects in games as well so I can have a reverb while I talk to people to sike them out. The problem is the mic works for chatting live, but not when I am live with Pod Farm 2.0 open. The needles on the meters do not move when not in pod but do once I am in pod but the mic is dead for the computer. All drivers were reinstall so I am at a standstill.
  24. So I have owned a UX2 with a MXL 990 mic for awhile now but recently I've noticed an issue, namely that after about 5 to 10 minutes of playing a video game, with PodFarm open, the microphone no long picks up my voice. The meters on podfarm move half a bar or so, if I tab out of the game and wait, sometimes the mic will come back, only to cut out again when I tab back in. I've tried multiple usb ports Using both Mic inputs I changed my power plan for both the USB and Hard disk I raised the buffer size I updated drivers But nothing seems to do the trick. It only seems to happen when playing a game, it doesn't effect skype or anything else that would use my microphone. Is there something I missed? I hope someone can be of help Thank you.
  25. I have Windows 10 and have been using my UX2 without issue for a while now. But this week, my UX2 suddenly stopped working. My computer doesn't recognize it and when I plug it in, the red clip lights blink alternately. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers as well as Line 6 Monkey and the license manager. Line 6 Monkey still tells me that drivers are not installed after multiple re-installs and doesn't recognize that it's connected. Any help out there?
