  1. I bought (and registered) a black UX2 in 2009 and have been using it issue free (for the most part) until a few months ago. It was purchased from a retail store, brand new. My computer crashed a few months ago after I installed Windows 10 and I had to re-install Windows 10 (if that matters at all). I have always had access to POD Farm 2, but now I don't. My online Line 6 account says I haven't purchased anything (when I click 'My Software' from the License Manager. The UX2 was registered in 2009, Line 6 Monkey says I have POD Farm 2.59, and License Manager says I have FX Junkie. What's going on?
  2. I bought today line 6 UX2 and wanted to connect it to my mac. After i open monkey it shows me just one device option (PODxt) to choose and on license manager i can't see my UX2. Did you experience a similar problem? What should i do?
  3. Hey hey hey, it's my second day with my ux2. Pod farm 2 amp modulations are awesome. But i use garageband to record and i wanna also try garage band's modulations. Could you explain me how?
  4. Hi, everyone, Hoping for some help here. I have recently purchased a POD UX2 for home recording, replacing an older pair of PODs for bass and guitar. I am slowly getting my tones dialed in where I want them, but am having trouble with one thing in particular. I have a great bass tone with some distortion on it to get a grindy, almost Mötorhead kind of sound from my 5-string, and that's what I want to use for most of my bass tracks. However, I also need to get a good, "clean" bass tone as well with no fuzz or distortion for quieter parts. My problem is, no matter what amp model I choose and no matter what cab, settings, or effects I use or don't use, I'm just not getting a completely clean tone. If I play at normal velocity, either pick or fingers, the output sounds "clipped", like a harsh, buzzsaw sound overlaying the smooth bass tone. I'm checking the line in levels before the effects, the output levels, and the ultimate output level in my DAW (which is GarageBand for the time being), but I see that I'm nowhere near clipping anywhere; I've got at least 6-15 dB of headroom, depending on where I'm measuring it. I can lower the "drive" setting on any of the amps and dial it mostly out (mostly, it's still there if you really dig in), but then the output is so low as to be almost inaudible. I'd like to know if this is just a matter of finding the right amp and cab combo, if there's something I need to be doing on the instrument end, or if this is just an artifact of how the amps were modeled, and there's just clipping somewhere in the chain I can't get rid of. I've tried this with four different basses -- a Rogue P-Bass with passive pickups, a Kramer Baretta with dual-rail passives, an Epiphone Thunderbird with stock passives, and an Ibanez SRC6 with passive EMG-HZs and an active EMG-based preamp. Regardless of settings, bass, or anything else, whenever I get anywhere near a volume that is comparable to any of my other tones for guitar or distorted bass, I get that buzzing, clipping noise again, but again, I'm not seeing anything near clipping input levels anywhere in the chain. Is this something up with my UX2, or am I just not understanding how the models work correctly? Thank you, Rob
  5. Hey first of all I want excuse myself if I explain this in a bad way. So I use a Line 6 UX2 + AT2035 microphone for PC gaming and streaming. Works great and all that. However, I just recently got myself a Playstation 4 so figured that instead of buying a completely new headset etc. I'll just buy cables for the Line 6 UX2. So I got : 1x 6.3mm Mono Cable 3m, 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch 3.5mm Audio Splitter Cable1x KingTop 3.5mm Combo Audio Adapter Cable for PS4 So the 1/4 Inch to 1/8 inch goes into UX2 analog out L and R, connects into the PS4 adapter that fits into the PS4 controller. Microphone wise it works good. However, as I also use my UX2 to listen through. The analog out not only outputs my mic to my PS4 but it also outputs whatever sound is coming from my PC. So my question is, is there anywhere in PODFARM or on the UX2 I can prevent it from transfering the audio from my PC and get it to output the microphone only? I feel like it should be possible as hearing the audio isnt that what the headphones monitor thing is for on the front of the UX2? Thank you for your time. Best regards Chris "Sohlus"
  6. when I connect the ux 2 toneport to the guitar speakers, it smells burnt and ux2 will not turn on. after I unload it is charred on the resistor like this photo. seen there is a charred on R43 What should I do? I come from Indonesia and in this country there is no service center. Can I get service manual for line 6 ux 2? where i can get motherboard map / motherboard schematic. Please help me :'(
  7. So I know that similiar problems have been posted here in recently, but none of the fixes work for me. I recently got the POD studio UX2, and installed POD farm 2.5 on my PC, along with all the necessary drivers (line6 monkey and the hardware driver) and registration steps. Unfortunately, I am still not able to get the interface/software to pick up my guitar. I have both my recording and playback devices set to the interface, selected "instrument" on the POD farm input menu, have the UX2 selected in the hardware preferences tab, and my guitar/cable works through an amp. The interface is lit up (yellow/orange lights on), but the dials don't move at all. I also noticed that I am unable to hear any other sounds from my computer (youtube/Spotify), so I am not sure if this helps isolate the issue. At this point I have no idea what to do and am considering opening up a ticket. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks
  8. Hello, I recently purchased a Line6 UX2 and I just plugged in my casual headphones through a 1/4 inch adapter and I am receiving a static like noise in both of my ear cups but particularity the left ear cup. I was wondering if this is due to the 1/4 inch adapter or the UX2 is defective? Please let me know your ideas. Thank you.
  9. Okay so I've been having this issue for a few months now. Kinda getting to the point of my audio issue is something to do with my soundcard / hardware inside my PC but first, I should explain what I am hearing and give some views on what the issue is. Firstly. Only people with studio based headsets can hear this. People with earbuds wouldn't be able to hear the issue but its like a Crystallizing popping noise that only occurs before I speak. Like a *Pop* *Click* before I say a word. https://youtu.be/V2jGsz6GGMI?t=64 is a example of the noise (It occurs when I say "Testing") I have tried the following: Replaced USB Cables, Replaced XLR Cables. Changed from Focusrite 2i4 USB Interface to a Line 6 tone port UX2 Interface. The issue is still there. Tried 3.0 USB Ports (UX2 didn't work) So I tried different ports. I have tried different microphones. (AT2035 which is 2 years old and the AT2020 which is around 5 months old) and now thinking it might be hardware / soundcard issue but I can't decide if its cause my PC is slightly outdated or it might be something else. Motherboard: ASUSTeK P8Z77-V Windows 8.1 i7 - 3700k @ 3.50GHz CPU 16GB RAM DDR3 NVIDIA GTX 680 GPU Samsung SSD 840 Series (111GB) Seagate ST2000 (2TB)
  10. Hi, so i've googled and couldn't really find a response to what im looking for. My situation is this,I have a line6 UX2 with everything up to date on drivers and all. Now, i want to use the ''Inst. & Mic 1'' as my input source, i did it once before but i recently reinstalled my pc, anyway. im currently using a Supreme CU-1 Studio Condenser Mic. I'm using Guitar rig 5 for Guitar&Bass sounds, but i can't get the mic to work, any idéas will be appriciated. :) Let me know if anything else is needed to set up this thing.
  11. Hi, I have had my UX2 for about 2 weeks now, I am having an issue were It will just freeze (Including the dials). My microphone that is plugged into the UX2 stops working and I can hear nothing from my headphones (Except a buzzing sound every 1-2 secs) that are are plugged into the UX2. The way I am currently fixing this problem is by unplugging and re-plugging in my UX2 and relaunching pod farm and after a minute it is fixed, well for a little bit. This issue happens to me about 5 or so times a day and is very annoying. Could you please comment any questions you have that may help you solve this issue. Thanks, Michael
  12. The headache question that's been on my mind since early August. (Had to return a faulty unit) I bought a new setup for streaming, an AT-2035 Mic which I've seen a lot of forum posts surrounding (gulp), a cool boom arm for said mic and the UX2. Although I have seen many forum posts, none seem to answer my question and cut off prematurely due to Mic 1 not being selected. My setup: an AT-2035 is plugged via XLR lead into mic port 1, knobs are at reasonable levels. An aux cable with an adapter is plugged into the hub of my 5.1 surround system to provide audio out. Phantom power is activated and the USB is connected to the back of my PC (motherboard USB 3.0). Dials are lit up orange but I haven't set them up for any readings yet. The software is set to Mic 1 in the mixer using Noise Gate, Compressor and American Classic. (pretty sure all input volumes are up). My question finally is, why is there no audio coming through? I'm not very technical so do go in depth but talk to me like I am a child or I may not understand.
  13. I recently bought a new Mac (MacBook Pro 2016 / Mac OS Sierra) with Logic Pro X and am trying to use my UX2 (from 2012) with it. However, the audio / microphone input is not getting picked up. I've downloaded all the drivers and double-checked updated using Monkey. I also tried using different mics and mic cables, and tried both Mic inputs, and made sure everything is set up correctly in Logic and in the computer's Audio MIDI setup window. No matter what I do, the input meters on the UX2 don't move at all. This UX2 used to work perfectly on my previous Mac. What am I doing wrong? Is the UX2 incompatible with this Mac?
  14. Hello. I got a question, is it possible to set up the dB Meters on the interface seperately for Mic & Headphones?
  15. Hi, I have not used my UX2 for a while and the Gearbox software does not work any more. I run a Macbook Pro with macOS Sierra 10.12.6. Does Pod Farm replace Gearbox? Can I use Pod Farm to play backing tracks and does it have the half speed feature like Gearbox. I'm afraid I'm not very savvy about this stuff. I looked for the latest version of Gearbox and it was from back in 2010. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
  16. I have two Behriner truth B2031, if I put them to analog outs the sound is very low, but if I put the one to the phones the sounds good. what can be the problem?
  17. Hi, I'm currently doing some demos against a backing MIDI + click track. The backing track simulates drums, bass, keyboards, etc. I'm plugging in the UX2, and using the Farm to record guitars directly into Audacity. Recording is going well enough, the parts are getting recorded along with the backing WAV track without any latency. At the end of the day, I'll be going into a proper studio with the rest of the band for the actual recording. But is there anyway I can record a simultaneous dry/DI sig track in too? I was thinking of saving some hours/money on recording the guitars. That, and also it's probably less stressful to take my time recording my parts at home as opposed to being under the clock. The engineer said it was possible since we're playing along with a click. He needs both the DI signal and the wet recording. Am I able to get the DI sig if I'm just using a UX2 direct into the PC? Is Pod Farm able to output 2 signals simultaneously, and is Audacity able to record them individually on separate tracks? Or do I need some other equipment or a different recording app? Thanks
  18. Hi, Had to get a faster computer, bought one with Windows 8. Installed latest Pod Farm (2.5.6) and now I can't get hardly any of my favorite effects, amps etc. In version 2.0 I was able to get a ton of presets, apms, effects and so forth, and now it is a pretty slim selection. Even when selecting from the drop down menu to get presets, most of them fail to load. Error Code 800a002. I"ve even tried to install the tones from a backup, but I still get the same error. Is there a solution for this , or is this the new Pod Farm? CG
  19. I'm getting random pops and short distortion during playback on my UX2. Worked fine on a previous laptop, now it's hard to listen to anything as it generates short noises or sound drop outs randomly. No issue with recording - apparently this only affects the output, both on headphones and line out. I think I have tried everything I could find on this forum - went through the faq on this site, tried connecting to powered hub (normally it's connected directly to the laptop), changed power plan to high performance, connected to different USB port, turned off all other background tasks, turned off wifi, disabled onboard sound card, removed all other USB devices, changed all the ASIO settings in every possible configuration... I'm really running out of ideas here. I have seen posts on this issue - many are unresolved and whatever worked for the others have zero effect in my situation. The UX2 worked fine on my old laptop (5 year old Alienware), but that was on Windows 7. So it is probably UX2 not liking the new Dell XPS or Windows 10, but what exactly is the issue? No clue. Does anybody have any ideas different than what I have already mentioned?
  20. Hi, I am about to buy a used UX2 from Amazon and I am not sure if the software is with it or not. Can this software that lists with it (or other software) be downloaded. I am especially interested in Ableton live or recording software that comes with it or might be useful (example drum software, etc)? Thank you!
  21. Hey guys, simple question here. I have been using the UX1 forever with the Podfarm and have been beyond happy. That said, it was time for a moderately better upgrade since my UX1 finally went toast after seven years. My question is, when I add the UX2 as my new device, will I lose the custom tones/presets I made in Podfarm with the UX1? If so, is there a way to avoid this from happening? Thank you!
  22. Hey Everyone, I've been trying to get assistance out of Line 6 but it has been about as productive as asking a brick wall to sort out my drama's so I thought I'd give this a shot. Recently bought a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 7000) and for some reason whenever I open POD Farm all other audio is muted. I have the UX2 selected as the playback device and all audio plays through the device until I open POD Farm. As soon as I open the app all external audio stops and even if I hit play in iTunes or Guitar Pro there is silence. If I close POD Farm the audio cuts back in. I have looked through settings in POD Farm and can't seem to find anything. Never had this drama previously with an old crappy HP laptop. Basically just want to be able to jam to some songs whilst playing but it seems I can only have one audio source playing. I am using the Tone direct drivers and not ASIO4ALL. Have tried using ASIO4ALL but the audio doesn't come through as clear and seems like there is a higher latency. Anyone ever had this drama?
  23. Hi all, hope you can help. I'm trying to record guitar and vocals at the same time through my Toneport UX2 but seem to be unable to do this. When set to just vocals, I can record that fine, when I set to guitar that's fine, but when I use "inst & Mic 1" as the source, the recording only picks up the guitar, whether I record on stereo or mono 1 or mono 2 it's the same result. I've tried going in to Ableton, Audacity and Adobe Audition and all have given the same result. One thing I have noted is that in my hardware settings, the ASIO client reads as "none" and I'm not sure how to fix that. I've updated drivers but this hasn't changed. I'll be honest, I don't fully understand what ASIO and MME are so I may be looking at the wrong things. Thanks in advance.
  24. Hi everyone Recently I've been having problems with my POD Studio UX2. When I try to play any sound using my UX2 the needles on the front move but no sound is outputted through my speakers. I've also tried a couple of different pairs of headphones and I can't hear anything through them either. Furthermore, I can't record sound through the instrument input or the microphone input. These problems started when I plugged my bass into my bass amp which was plugged into the mains then ran the output from my bass amp into the UX2. When I did this the lights on the front of my UX2 turned off and the clip lights started blinking. Upon unplugging then replugging the lights came back on like normal but I couldn't hear anything from my speakers. The needles move when I play sound and everything software-wise and hardware-wise indicates that I should be playing sound. This would indicate to me some sort of electrical fault in the device however the lights do stay on and the needle still does move when it should be playing sound. My second guess would be that only the output jack is damaged but the device can't record instrument or microphone audio or play it. This issue did occur after trying to set up ASIO Link Pro but I have since uninstalled that program and the problem still occurs. Aside from that nothing appears to have changed software-wise. I've plugged different amps into my UX2 before and had absolutely no issue. If it's of any use the bass amp I used was a Peavey TKO 80 and I had it plugged into a standard British socket and there appears to be no damage done to the amp. I've also had a Vox AD15VT plugged into my UX2 before and there was no issue. I am using Windows 10 and I have all the latest drivers installed. Thanks for taking the time to read my post :)
  25. Hello dear users, Do one of you know a proper way to unplug the Line 6 Pod Studio (UX2) from a Mac ? Because sometimes it cause a crash, and restart the computer. Thank you in advance !
