  1. I apologize if this topic already exists in the forum. I was searching on how to set up tone/volume in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. I didn't find the answer in Forum. My Spider V 30 is connected correctly to PC via USB and there is a sound of TL in Cubase. In Cubase, I choosed ASIO Spider V driver. I/O is Speder V (L&R) - Active. ASIO buffer Size is set to: Extra Small. I can record my TL from SpiderV 30 via USB and reproduce my records, too. It is not a problem, it works. But, quality of record is desperate and not acceptable, too. The sound is dark, blurry, somehow smudged and does not match what I hear on Spider V 30 while playing & recording. E.g effect as drive is not OK and corrupts the recorded. This is especially pronounced when I strumming all the strings. When I am playing finger style in clear sound or near clear, it is a better. It seams to me that solution is to set properly the tone on all devices in the chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC. Acctually to set properly the tone/volume of input signal to PC or output signal from Spider V 30 via USB. When I am playing acoustic guitar via USB Audio Interface (UAI), I can adjust Input signal at UAI and all works fine. But at Spider V 30 there is not possibility to adjust Input signal. I can adjust tone at TL guitar as imput signal to SpiderV 30, but it changes a sound of guitar at SpiderV 30. Or I can reduce/decrease Master tone of SpiderV 30, but I can not hear what I am playing. Please, give me opinion regarding this topic. How to properly set up tone of all devices in chain: TL guitar, SpiderV 30 & Cubase at PC? What are your experiences with this?

Known Issues in Helix/HX Firmware 2.81

In rare cases, the Dynamics > LA Studio Comp model can sometimes cause a drop in preset volume. Some tempo synced effects can act authentic with the global setting set to transparent if tempo changes are controlled via snapshots. In rare cases, Helix/HX devices can become disconnected from HX Edit. If possible, always connect your Helix/HX device directly to the USB port closest to your computer’s power connector. Never use any sort of USB hub, which may include the front USB ports on the front of towers. Pedalboard mode - Using FS1-8 and EXP 1-2

[Hi! Long-time player - first-time poster] I'm using my HD500x in Pedalboard mode with different effects assigned to each of the 8 foot switches. I would like to assign WAH and VOLUME to the Expression pedals, EXP 1 and EXP 2, but cannot figure out how to do that. I can take one of the FS and change it to WAH and then change the assignment to EXP 1, but then I lose the effect I had on that FS. I feel like this should be easy to do, but I just can't figure it out for some reason. What am I missing here? Thanks for your help.
  5. Hi, about two years ago i bought my Amplifi TT and i'm very happy. I use it into a stereo in my bedroom (directly or through a little mixer). I always had a great sound and a great volume, but now i noticed that the volume of "amp out" is very low and the sound is tiny and distorted. If i use "phone" or "main-left" outputs the sound is great. Is it possible that the "main out" output is broken or defective? I used my Amplifi TT only 3/4 times outside my home. Thanks

    audio problem with hd pod500x

Hi, i have a problem with my pod hd500x: when i plugin my pedalboard to the pc for edit the tones and exit in my amplifier, the tones sounds really good, but when i don't plug to the pc the pod all of my tones have a really lollipop sound, with a lot of interference and really high tones that make the tones noisy. I tried all the way a can to solve this problem, but i haven't found a solution. this is a really sad thing beacuse i have my pod for 8 moths and i can't use it live because i can't bring with me my pc. I hope someone can healp me solving that problem.
  7. Hello! I’m a new HX Stomp user. 1 month of use. I’ve used only the effects on gigs but would like to broaden to using the amp models. I’m confused by a few things and would appreciate some help to get me on the right track: 1) Effects: Volumes seems to vary. Distortion and overdrives seem to be the toughest to balance. Any suggestions on correctly balancing levels? Should the master volume knob on the HX Stomp always be set to the max? 2) Amp & Cab models through a P.A.: I tried using an amp model & separate cab model through a P.A. in a well equipped Club and the FOH guy said the volume signal was loud but not loud enough. “A bit thin” in his words. I set my Input level to “Line” as tutorials explained. Am I suppose to set both Input and Output to “Line”? Thank you in advance for suggestions Oscargtr

    Looper playback volume too low?

Hi, I noticed that when I record a loop (single layer), the volume of its playback drops quite a lot compared with anything I play on it (even not overdubbing another loop on it), or compared to the volume when I recorded it. I think it was like that also in the HD500, but not this bad. This happens when in the looper (mono looper) settings I have "playback" and "overdub" at 0 dB, and the low/high cuts are at 20Hz/20kHz. Is there any way to increase the volume of the playback (and not the volume of what I play over it....)? Thanks!
  9. I have several presents where I want the volume pedal and the wah. When I add these blocks to the path it automatically assigns the volume to exp2 and Wah to exp1. To change between you use the toe switch on the pedal. This is all good except as it's in volume mode as default I have to press the pedal all the way forward to activate the hidden toe pedal to get to the wah. The problem is now I'm at 100% volume as I've had to push the volume pedal all the way forward to get to the tow switch ie all my spare headroom, and it's too loud. Any suggestions please. Thanks

    idea needed to chain setting

I am trying to set up a chain starting with volume pedal - assigned to EXP1 and a wah pedal assigned on EXO2 I want the volume pedal EXP1 to be ON all the time, when I TOE IN to switch to EXP2, I want the volume to remain on, and the wah to come ON as well the WAH functionality when on the EXP2. Right now when i toe IN the EXP1 goes to EXP 2 , but it turns the volume OFF. may be an overkill come to a forum for this, but I am just bouncing some ideas

Confused about the use of Volume Pedal

I am confused about how use a volume pedal block and where to place it in my preset signal path (chain) so that it only acts a true "louder quieter" pedal and does not change the sound or impact other blocks in the chain. Example: If I place the volume pedal at the end of the chain (last block before Output) it still changes the intensity of my tremolo . So if I turn my pedal down with my tremolo active, - it sounds like there is no tremolo at all, - and only if I volume up on the pedal does it start to sound like there is tremolo happening. So put the tremolo block after the foot pedal in my signal path. This is also happening with an EQ block I am using. If I set the Graphic 10 Band EQ where I like it at say 70% on my volume pedal, - when I turn the volume pedal down - it starts to sound super mid-rangy. Where can I place the volume pedal (or how do I set it up) so it makes everything sound exactly the same, but just a louder or quieter?
  14. Hi, there, I have some problems to make the volume levels the same for every preset. at home i setup the volume in the presets at almost 100%. but there are so many diverence in level for each amp model. so at live i have to change every preset every time. can some tell me the right way to make t he same level volume for every preset. thanks.

    Different Firehawk volume controls

The overall volume is the Master Volume control. This is controlled by the "big knob" when the LEDs are red (the default state). All of the other volumes happen before this one and it's ultimately how you control the output level while keeping everything relatively balanced by using all of the other controls. This is a global control. The Guitar Volume happens just before the master and is how you balance the guitar level against the Bluetooth streaming audio that is coming into the unit. This is also a global control and is accessed by pressing the big knob until the LEDs are white. The Channel Volume is like a Master for just the amp, and it is stored with the patch. It adjusts the output level without affecting the tone (like the Gain control on the amps would). This is the control you use to level your presets relative to each other. The slightly quirky thing here is that it does live in the amp processing slot, so it happens in the signal chain before the post effects. In v1.1 firmware and later, pressing the big knob until the LEDs are pink acts as a short cut to accessing this control without the app. The Gain on the amp panel is the per-patch parameter that affects the tone of the amp - also referred to as Drive The Volume Pedal is an additional real-time control whose value is not saved with the patch. You can see in the app where it lives in the signal path. The Master control on HD amps is considered a deep edit parameter (like sag, hum, etc.) that is saved with the patch and is exclusive to HD amps. It's the output level of the preamp to the power amp. When you load one of these models, the stored value is right for that amp in the default state and it's usually best to leave it where it is unless you are going for a very specific effect.
  16. Hi all, hope you're well. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me please. I'm having difficulties setting up a NT1-A condenser mic through a UX1. I've read through several old posts on this forum but can't seem to find the answer I need. The issue is the volume level from the mic; it's barely audible. The NT1-A is plugged in to the input channel of a Neewer 48V phantom power supply (power into mains), with the output going into the mic input of the UX1. The UX1 is plugged in via USB with the output settings set to 'built-in output' via Garageband on a MacBook Pro, coming through to my headphones. I've cranked the mic gain on the UX1 up to max, pushed the track volume up to max in Garageband and 'Mic 1' input is selected on the mixer in Podfarm. I can mostly hear a quiet, soft hissing noise (presumably the high gain setting) but when I go to record I can hear my voice quietly underneath, so seemingly the mic is on and registering. I've tried clicking the +18db boost on the input channels in the mixer in pod farm, which increase the volume of the hissing and makes things a little louder but something's clearly wrong. I've been recording guitar using Podfarm without trouble, so presumably I'm missing something as I believe other people have managed to get condensers with phantom power working fine? I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how I can fix this,, thank you!
  17. Hi y'all In all patches in the firehawk when I move the volume pedal it sets the "drive" of the amp setting to another position than programmed. First I thought the "drive" is assigned to be tweaked by the pedal, but as far as I know you can not tweak amp settings with the pedal. I calbirated the volume pedal but this did not help at all. Example: "drive" is programmed to 80%. Sounds nice. Now I move the pedal to adjust the volume and the volume is controlled nicely, but also the "drive" parameter jumps to somewhere around 50%. When I move the pedal again the "drive" never goes back, it moves between 40 and 50%. No chance to bring it back up to its initial setting. Firmware version. 1.30 Anybody the same problem? Solutions? Thanks!
  18. Hi I've downloaded several great patches for the POD HD500X, but they don't seem to respond to the volume pedal. Some of the patches such as Luke, Luke2, Bogner Shiva Distortion Fusion don't have the volume pedal listed in the effects view. However, even when I add volume pedal as a selection, it doesn't seem to affect the volume. The patches work great if I'm in a controlled environment (like my basement), but I can't use them in a live gig because I can't adjust the volume on the fly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks - Steve
  19. Hello folks, I hope you can help. I've just swapped my ageing Scarlett 18i8 1st Gen for a 2nd gen one. The old Mix Control is now Focusrite Control and very different. For some reason my Helix volume knob now controls the volume of everything (PC, DAW, Guitar) and so does the Scarlett. This is a pain because when I'm recording into my DAW and I want to up the guitar level with the Helix volume knob it alters the DAW volume too. I'm using Reaper. Helix used to only control my guitar volume. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Pod HD500x Expression Pedal Problem

I have a PODhd500x. My expression pedal doesn't function. I have rested global settings. I have updated firmware and flash memory. I have calibrated the pedal and pedal calibration says 'F'. What could be wrong and someone please tell how to fix it? I live in a place where there are no service centres close by. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  21. Hi everybody, the more I explore into my HX FX the more ideas I get, especially thanks to the awesome flexibility over the signal chain. I spend all my time in the signal view. I'd say I'm using the helix more like a creative tool, rather than a tone one. That's way I got the HX FX and not the full floor unit. I was hoping there were more discussion about the creative/experimental side of things. I mean... having two separate chains (and having one at 100% wet) opens up to a hell lot of creative possibilities. First big question I have is: how to have blocks like volume and gate being automated by the tempo to create for example auto-volume swells (tight to the BPM and not to dynamics and such like Adrianswell or Vintageswell). I can't use a pedal to do this 'cause I'm already dealing with playing the guitar and singing and change the sounds etc.. The gate idea is even crazier so I try to paint a scenario (assuming I'll be playing tight as hell): I have two signal path A&B. Let's say A is the "guitar" channel and B is the "Crazy". I play fingerpicking and I want the bass notes only (thumb picked) to be picked up by the B signal chain. I know I'll be playing a bass note every let's say quarter, so I'd have a gate to mute the incoming signal every quarter, therefore getting a quarter notes bass line to process as I please (for example with harmony pitch or multitap to create basslines). What do you think? Do you guys know any workaround? Thanks in advance

    Power amp for Helix

I currently have no experience with setting up fx processors for live/rehearsal use through a guitar cabinet, but I am thinking about obtaining a Helix (maybe Axe Fx if I'm patient enough) to add a digital rack setup on top of my current tube amp/cab/pedals setup. Just to have the best of both worlds. I want to stick to a solid state power amp, but do I go Rocktron Velocity 300 or Matrix GT800FX/GT1000FX? I obviously want to maximize my sound in terms of quality, but also in terms of volume without blowing my speakers or being too quiet. I'm not sure how wattage in a sold state amp affects this, and I'd like to go Matrix, but only if they don't destroy these cabs with one small or bad turn of a knob because of their high output capabilities -- 400w/channel or 800w bridged for example -- into a 280w Mesa 4x12 (live/rehearsal) or 120w Orange 2x12 (home). But I can't afford to have the 300w Rocktron be too quiet for a live or rehearsal situation even if it does suffice for at-home use. Bottom line: Which power amp should I get and how would I avoid damage? I see people using the Matrix's all the time with cab setups but how do they not blow their cabs? Just keep the Matrix turned down low all the time? Is it an impedance thing? Side note: The Orange also only has a 16 ohm option so without rewiring how would that work, if it can at all since I believe these amps do 8 ohms? I know there's other options for speaker setups but I'm asking specifically about guitar cabinets... for now. I play heavy music. Much appreciated.
  23. So I have the Line6 POD HD500 and it has a problem that I can't fix. A lot of times the volume starts to rise or fade without me moving the volume knob and the indications on the POD's screen is doing the same. So I was wondering if any one of you have the same problem or know how to fix it. Will it get fixed if I change the knob that connects with the control board?

X3 LIVE Wah and volume Selection

Hi. I have a question about the volume/wah expression pedal. If I assign it to volume/wah, does it normally switches vice versa if I step the pedal all the way to my toe as said in the description because mine does not. I did follow the instruction for the settings but If I push it hard with my toes, no changes at all. Does the switch happen to be defective?

    dt25 Amp Model Volume Variance

When I use the amp (dt25) with direct guitar input (no POD) and switch the amp models manually between I II III IV I get significant volume variation. II and IV are loud. I and III are very quiet. Is this normal behavior or is there something I can do to even out the variations?
