  1. I am trying to set up a chain starting with volume pedal - assigned to EXP1 and a wah pedal assigned on EXO2 I want the volume pedal EXP1 to be ON all the time, when I TOE IN to switch to EXP2, I want the volume to remain on, and the wah to come ON as well the WAH functionality when on the EXP2. Right now when i toe IN the EXP1 goes to EXP 2 , but it turns the volume OFF. may be an overkill come to a forum for this, but I am just bouncing some ideas
  2. I am confused about how use a volume pedal block and where to place it in my preset signal path (chain) so that it only acts a true "louder quieter" pedal and does not change the sound or impact other blocks in the chain. Example: If I place the volume pedal at the end of the chain (last block before Output) it still changes the intensity of my tremolo . So if I turn my pedal down with my tremolo active, - it sounds like there is no tremolo at all, - and only if I volume up on the pedal does it start to sound like there is tremolo happening. So put the tremolo block after the foot pedal in my signal path. This is also happening with an EQ block I am using. If I set the Graphic 10 Band EQ where I like it at say 70% on my volume pedal, - when I turn the volume pedal down - it starts to sound super mid-rangy. Where can I place the volume pedal (or how do I set it up) so it makes everything sound exactly the same, but just a louder or quieter?
  3. Hi all, hope you're well. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me please. I'm having difficulties setting up a NT1-A condenser mic through a UX1. I've read through several old posts on this forum but can't seem to find the answer I need. The issue is the volume level from the mic; it's barely audible. The NT1-A is plugged in to the input channel of a Neewer 48V phantom power supply (power into mains), with the output going into the mic input of the UX1. The UX1 is plugged in via USB with the output settings set to 'built-in output' via Garageband on a MacBook Pro, coming through to my headphones. I've cranked the mic gain on the UX1 up to max, pushed the track volume up to max in Garageband and 'Mic 1' input is selected on the mixer in Podfarm. I can mostly hear a quiet, soft hissing noise (presumably the high gain setting) but when I go to record I can hear my voice quietly underneath, so seemingly the mic is on and registering. I've tried clicking the +18db boost on the input channels in the mixer in pod farm, which increase the volume of the hissing and makes things a little louder but something's clearly wrong. I've been recording guitar using Podfarm without trouble, so presumably I'm missing something as I believe other people have managed to get condensers with phantom power working fine? I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how I can fix this,, thank you!
  4. Hi I've downloaded several great patches for the POD HD500X, but they don't seem to respond to the volume pedal. Some of the patches such as Luke, Luke2, Bogner Shiva Distortion Fusion don't have the volume pedal listed in the effects view. However, even when I add volume pedal as a selection, it doesn't seem to affect the volume. The patches work great if I'm in a controlled environment (like my basement), but I can't use them in a live gig because I can't adjust the volume on the fly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks - Steve
  5. Hello folks, I hope you can help. I've just swapped my ageing Scarlett 18i8 1st Gen for a 2nd gen one. The old Mix Control is now Focusrite Control and very different. For some reason my Helix volume knob now controls the volume of everything (PC, DAW, Guitar) and so does the Scarlett. This is a pain because when I'm recording into my DAW and I want to up the guitar level with the Helix volume knob it alters the DAW volume too. I'm using Reaper. Helix used to only control my guitar volume. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  6. I have a PODhd500x. My expression pedal doesn't function. I have rested global settings. I have updated firmware and flash memory. I have calibrated the pedal and pedal calibration says 'F'. What could be wrong and someone please tell how to fix it? I live in a place where there are no service centres close by. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  7. Hi everybody, the more I explore into my HX FX the more ideas I get, especially thanks to the awesome flexibility over the signal chain. I spend all my time in the signal view. I'd say I'm using the helix more like a creative tool, rather than a tone one. That's way I got the HX FX and not the full floor unit. I was hoping there were more discussion about the creative/experimental side of things. I mean... having two separate chains (and having one at 100% wet) opens up to a hell lot of creative possibilities. First big question I have is: how to have blocks like volume and gate being automated by the tempo to create for example auto-volume swells (tight to the BPM and not to dynamics and such like Adrianswell or Vintageswell). I can't use a pedal to do this 'cause I'm already dealing with playing the guitar and singing and change the sounds etc.. The gate idea is even crazier so I try to paint a scenario (assuming I'll be playing tight as hell): I have two signal path A&B. Let's say A is the "guitar" channel and B is the "Crazy". I play fingerpicking and I want the bass notes only (thumb picked) to be picked up by the B signal chain. I know I'll be playing a bass note every let's say quarter, so I'd have a gate to mute the incoming signal every quarter, therefore getting a quarter notes bass line to process as I please (for example with harmony pitch or multitap to create basslines). What do you think? Do you guys know any workaround? Thanks in advance
  8. So I have the Line6 POD HD500 and it has a problem that I can't fix. A lot of times the volume starts to rise or fade without me moving the volume knob and the indications on the POD's screen is doing the same. So I was wondering if any one of you have the same problem or know how to fix it. Will it get fixed if I change the knob that connects with the control board?
  9. Hi. I have a question about the volume/wah expression pedal. If I assign it to volume/wah, does it normally switches vice versa if I step the pedal all the way to my toe as said in the description because mine does not. I did follow the instruction for the settings but If I push it hard with my toes, no changes at all. Does the switch happen to be defective?
  10. When I use the amp (dt25) with direct guitar input (no POD) and switch the amp models manually between I II III IV I get significant volume variation. II and IV are loud. I and III are very quiet. Is this normal behavior or is there something I can do to even out the variations?
  11. I have an HD500x and I have some presets I got from customtone and enjoy making some of my own. The problem is that when I get one I like, I switch to another and sometimes, the volume is quiet a bit different. Is there some way I can monitor the volume with some kind of meter so that I can have my tones be balanced?
  12. Hey everyone, I find it difficult to adjust the overall output volume as I create my chain. Do you find best to start with your master output at 12 o'clock or at MAX? Pros & Cons?
  13. Hello, I'm a Pod X3 pro user and I would like to control the volume level of a dual preset. I have no problem with the tone one using the CC17. But is it possible to do the same with the tone 2 or does it exist an another way using midi commands? Thanks a lot for your answer and your help - Olivier
  14. I have this firehawk fx, it was working fine... But suddenly, the master volume knob stopped working. I can change the master volume from the phone using the app but the knob is not working. I need a solution.
  15. I'm using a JTV59 guitar, POD HD500 and have all the latest patches / firmware etc. I use the POD HD500 Edit software and the Workbench HD software to setup my patches and models. I think I've just been looking at this too long and can't see the forest for the trees and it probably has an easy solution, so here it is. I move a preset patch to a user location using the POD HD500 edit software. Then I tweek the patch to my liking and set the volume to match the other patches in that bank. I save that patch by sending the selected patch to the HD500 in the location that I created and tweeked it. The volume level is correct after my save until I recall it from the HD500. When I double click it in the HD500 Edit software it gets louder which is my prefered volume level, but when I choose the patch from the HD500 pedal it is not as loud. Any ideas on this?
  16. Hey everyone, not sure if this is the right place for this but I'm in need of some help desperately and was hoping someone could give me an idea or two. I got a used Spider III 15 W amp today. It was advertised as needing repair or having a problem. When you turn the amp on you hear nada. The only time you hear anything is on the metal channel and it is an extremely faint noise. I have tried both the channel volume and the master volume trying to turn them about half way and ended up maxing them both out with no change at all. The speaker doesn't crackle or give any signs of a busted speaker. I did take a look at the speaker and board and physically nothing looks off. Anyone ever have any problems like this with any amp, including this one? I hope I can get it to working. Thanks. Any additional info I can add later. Wanted to update on what else has gone on. I tried to swap out the speakers thinking maybe the speaker had blown but that is not the case. I have been informed elsewhere that it is likely a circuit board problem so was wondering if anyone could point in the right direction. At this point I'm likely going to go seek someones help at a store or just leave it alone. Sucks to have just got an amp today that I can't even use
  17. Hello. I have been usin Amplifi 75 for some time at home. Now I have to use it in a band and I just can't get enough volume out of it. My friend with a 60W amp sounds great whereas I have to mic my amp. What is the actual power output of the Amplifi 75? How can it be that my guitar doesn´t sound over the drums with a 75W amp? Thanks
  18. I've got a bunch of Glenn DeLaune presets and they work great. They are the stripped down amp patches. He basically took all the amps in the Helix and put them in as Snapshot 1 (amp drive = 3.0) / snapshot 2 (amp drive = 4.5) / snapshot 3 (amp drive 6.0) and snapshot 4 (amp drive = 7.5) - pretty basic so each shot is a little crunchier...so why is it when I'm trying to have only 1 amp and change the drive from snapshot to snapshot - it's not remembering? anyone else having these issues? thx K
  19. Hy everybody ! First of all, please forgive my bad english, I'm french :p I just want to know if there's a way to "nomalise" sounds that coming out of the Helix (rack) ... And how to do it ^^ I explain : I have plenty of sounds and personal presets, but I realy have problems to have a "normalised" sound on main mix ... In exemple : A "clean" tone then a "drive" one, how can I have both to the same volume on the PA ?? When I play and ear with a headset, it sounds to be great but when I put it on a PA system, the volume (Db) is very different !!!! It's a tragedy !! :/ Is there any way to have all presets and different tones at the same volume on the PA ? Just like if I "normalise" with a DAW soft. I want to have this when I play live ... Is there a way to do it with the helix ? with an external rack ? witch one ? Thanx in advance for all, and please don't be too technic with the words in your answer ^^ :p SKY.
  20. Hi y'all In all patches in the firehawk when I move the volume pedal it sets the "drive" of the amp setting to another position than programmed. First I thought the "drive" is assigned to be tweaked by the pedal, but as far as I know you can not tweak amp settings with the pedal. I calbirated the volume pedal but this did not help at all. Example: "drive" is programmed to 80%. Sounds nice. Now I move the pedal to adjust the volume and the volume is controlled nicely, but also the "drive" parameter jumps to somewhere around 50%. When I move the pedal again the "drive" never goes back, it moves between 40 and 50%. No chance to bring it back up to its initial setting. Firmware version. 1.30 Anybody the same problem? Solutions? Thanks!
  21. Does anyone have any tips on how to make sure levels/volume are consistent between different snapshots other than the obvious - using one's ears! Has anyone tried using a Decibel meter? Is there a way to do this within a DAW or another piece of software? Any advice will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Simon
  22. My First post here and I'm sure that similar questions have been asked regarding dialing in tone for "FOH vs FRFR Cab", and when to consider Fletcher-Munson as a factor. Number 1 sound concern for me is that the best possible tone is going to the FOH mixer/PA so that the sound guy needs to do minimal EQing but just volume leveling and my guitar sounds warm and crunchy. I am loving my Helix (8 months) but I want to take experimenting and guess work out of tweaking my tones for club gigs performances. I have been building patches and EQing through my Atomic CLR or my Sony headphones and realize that the stage situation/volume will deliver to my ears something different from what I had originally built, perhaps the Fletcher-Munson phenomenon is at work here. (bass boomy or not, highs shrill or not, different rooms etc.) I can take into account this and adjust the EQ so my live stage sound is cool to my ears but it might be at the detriment of what i am sending to the FOH, (not really sure but maybe). I also want a god stage tone but am reluctant to put Fletcher-Munson 10-band EQ into each patch for fear what it will do to FOH signal, (or does FOH also need the Fletcher-Munson curve to guitar signals?). I don't have a PA available to tweak on, no time to tweak at sound check but I want a way to build tones/EQ at home that will sound good through FOH, as I'm less concerned with the stage sound because I may be going in-ear monitor for up-coming shows. 1) My 'Dream-world' Question, what headphones or EQ or monitor or 'tool' will represent live FOH sound delivery while I am making tones and rehearsing at home? 2) Question is for anyone who has live experience with Aomic CLR. I have been using the CLR wedge in "TILT" setting (not BL or FF). Which one of these settings (FF, TILT or BL) is closest to FRFR, or closest to how the FOH will deliver the guitar frequencies? Your comments and wisdom are appreciated, Cheers!
  23. I noticed that when I get new patches from CustomTone, some are significantly more loud than others and it's not for lead and such. I would like the option to use these clean tones alongside each other with the same volume level (not including the lead tones which should be louder). Is there a way I can have this hooked up and check the volume level on the patches and adjust them accordingly with a visual tool? I was thinking of using Reaper to test this out, but I wasn't sure if there was a better option.
  24. I put Helix away for awhile and picked back up after the 2.30 upgrade and have paid for and downloaded many custom presets that sound good - until switching from snapshot to snapshot or from preset to preset. There's should be an easy way to adjust and save output levels to match. i do like some tones I get but is there a simple way without using computer to set my output levels? Very annoyed..
  25. Hi Guys, I recently tried to record some tracs using UX1 interface. Head of my amp has xlr output, witch i did connect with xlr cable to the jack line in of pod ux1. The volume in the PC is very low, my DAW shows -52DB at max. Can anyone advice something to boost the signal strength ? Best Regards, Piotr
