  1. Hello Line6 forum, I'm Phil from Lunatic Man's Dream!. I am looking for a effect unit that can deliver the following specs: - Wahwah sound controllable via expression pedal. So I don't need to run audio cable to my pedalboard but only control cables to switch my rack. - I want to be able, to turn that effect off by putting the pedal to "zero-position" OR by an integrated footswitch(like in Dunlop pedals). Depending on the way, the unit makes that possible, I choose a fitting expression pedal. Does the M5 work this way or do i have to programm special midi presets for having the wah turned on or off? Best regards, Phil

    Wah and EQ

Hi all, new on here, but long time XTLive owner and now proud Helix man! Anyway, I have always loved the Kirk Hammett and Slash style wah, used a Vox Chrome for years and then the model of it on the XT. Generally happy with that, but given the flexibility of the Helix I now want more. I know there are the custom versions out there, but does anyone have any tips for thickening a wah sound, maybe with a graphic eq before then turning that block on as the wah is engaged??? Thanks in advance Ritchie
  3. I've run in to a problem that I can't seem to fix: I'm trying to customize the scribble strip over the expression pedal ("wah" for example, or "vol - wah") and it will let me enter the text, and I can save it, but if I change to a different preset and then come back to the edited one it goes back to "exp1 exp2". Any ideas?
  4. Could anyone give me an idea about how to build a patch that includes an autowah? In other words, is there the possibility of an autowah in the HD500X? If it is, how can I configure it? Thanks
  5. Hello everyone! The Pod HD500X is working beautifully! Its more than I could ever ask! Just had one Question/problem. I have a show coming up and one of the songs needs a Wah effect. For the life of me I can't figure out how to switch the expression pedal between EXP 1 and EXP2. The handbook says to push in the toe end of it but It doesn't switch between EXP1 and EXP2. It seems like its stuck on EXP2. Any idea how to resolve this?
  6. I was able to do this in the past, but have obviously forgotten some key element. I have a straight-through stomp-box configuration with no amp models. The signal chain is: Tube Compressor -> Conductor -> Chorus -> Distortion (several) I've had this in place for a while, but noticed that while I can activate the Conductor using the toe switch, moving the pedal does not do anything. This may have been something new in firmware -- I've updated that more recently than this patch. The L6 factory presets still work fine with the pedal and effect. Any help on what I may have done wrong is appreciated. The Conductor is set at 100% mix and the controller uses the toe switch to activate and the pedal position to control the effect 0-100%. Thanks!
  7. So the helix has two exp jacks on the back. On my MFC-101 (Axefx) I have an Erine Ball vp Jr. That I modified to have a Mission latching switch so I can engage/disengage my wah but I need two expression jacks to utilize the Axefx wah function: one switch for engage and one switch for wah sweep. Am I going to need both of Helix exp jacks just for a wah? I'm going to try to use the onboard exp first but I am imagining not liking it because it's on the right side of the board and it seems kinda ...petite... It would be very cool to have a left footed version of this beast! I know it's maybe wired but I simply prefer my left foot for vol.wah.exp.whammy.... Thanks!
  8. Is there a chance that additional control over wah pedals could be added to the Firehawk Remote app? I have a CryBaby 535Q which has three different adjustment knobs plus a booster switch. I'd love to be able to simulate something like that more exactly on my FH so I can dial in my FH and CB as close as possible. Thanks! -Mo
  9. So, I have owned just about every pod there is...other than the original pod...they were all solid,..until I got the pod hd500...granted, the hd500 has more power and way better sounds than the other pods,..but..the tuner just stopped working....it was ok, everything else worked,..but that just bugged me...couldn't be fixed with updating or even backing up the flash memory....so I got a great deal on a like new hd500x!! so I picked that up,...and figured I'd use the hd500 with no tuner for a backup....little did I know how soon I'd have to break out the backup...now I get no wah or volume on any of my patches...you can hear the wah engaged, but the pedal does nothing...nor does volume....I don't remember any issues with my pod 2.0, the two pod xts I owned,..(with footpedal), the xt live,..or my pod x3...and those things got way more beatings than this does...I never gig with pods anymore...I use real amps,..but I used to use the xt and xt live for my metal band....I originally stopped using pods cuz I like a more organic tone for live,..,..but now I don't think they'll be reliable enough either....disappointing,..because I love the tones...it's my rig for at night for practice when I don't have the luxury of being loud...now I guess I have to find something new....spend a bazillion dollars on a kemper or axe fx...I hoped it wouldn't come to this.....
  10. Hi Can i use a wah pedal between the guitarra and Ux2? Is that the correcta way to connect a wah pedal to Ux2? Thanks
  11. I have noticed recently when playing that in a certain position my expression pedal seems to have a dead spot. What's the best way to remedy this please?
  12. I'd like to see some pedals override the volume/wah feature on this pedal... I've been using the Digitech Whammy pedal clone on here, but I can't get the tones I want because there's no way to use it as an expression pedal on the fly? Is this a possible integration for the future, or is there another way to assign pitch shift to the expression pedal on it? I'd also like a tremelo on this pedal, with it speeding up as the expression pedal moves down. Many thanks, Kai.
  13. [Hi! Long-time player - first-time poster] I'm using my HD500x in Pedalboard mode with different effects assigned to each of the 8 foot switches. I would like to assign WAH and VOLUME to the Expression pedals, EXP 1 and EXP 2, but cannot figure out how to do that. I can take one of the FS and change it to WAH and then change the assignment to EXP 1, but then I lose the effect I had on that FS. I feel like this should be easy to do, but I just can't figure it out for some reason. What am I missing here? Thanks for your help.
  14. Hey! Could someone point me to how to set up both a volume and wah pedal? I don't want to rely on the toe switch, I find I have to really lay into it and sometimes it is finicky when switching (it makes almost a crunching noise which is unnerving). Is it possible to use the switche(s) to toggle between the wah and volume pedal? I typically use the HD500 application to edit. If there is a customtone available I'd appreciate it. In an ideal world, I would want one switch to toggle between wah and volume...not sure that is possible. Thanks, Rick
  15. Hi everyone, I've gotten hold of a good condition Pod Pro and an (apparently) near-new Floor Board. The Wah pedal comes on, but I get no sweep. Various forums talk about calibrating the pedal, but the support links no longer work and there's no mention of this in the Pilot's Guide. Can anyone help? Can I calibrate it without some kind of software? Also, talking of which, visiting this forum has shown me for the first time the existence of Line 6 Edit. Where can I get hold of this and will it let me edit things on the Pod Pro? Thanks for any help. Graeme.
  16. Just bought an FBV Express MKII to use with my Amplifi 75. I'm not getting a very smooth sweep when using the foot pedal with the wah and Bender sounds (i.e. in the case of the wah, I'm getting more of an immediate bump in the wah rather than a smooth transition). Anyone have any thoughts? I've already calibrated the FBV Express MKII. Thanks, --R
  17. Hi, I love my M13 but hated the process "turn on wah > move leg to exp > wah > move leg to M13 > turn off wah", cause there is "lot of time" and it's not good for playing :-) So I decided to contact small company which made MIDI devices and the result of this is Expressione by Microdesignum - upgraded cheap exp Bespeco VM12L with MIDI switch on toe, which sending MIDI command to switch on/off one of effects (it's programmable, so I can chose which position of M13 will be controlled). See how it's work Some photos: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0ByRXrCr9vDscbmhjdnRia21lVGM&usp=sharing More info (in czech, use Google Translator :-)): http://www.svetkytar.cz/line6-m13-kvakadlo
  18. I just thought of it yesterday, as I was thinking as well of the durability of the HD500. I honestly don't know much of it, but I know most wah pedals are optical since older ones seemed to use some kind of pot and they would wear out often. I'd like to know what kind of system the expression pedal uses so I know the life expectancy of it.
  19. I am having problem adding a volume pedal and a wah pedal to my patch. In the HD500 edit software, on the controllers page I have the Volume Pedal set to EXP Toe switch....EXP-1....0%min and 10%max. I have the Vetta Wah set to EXP Toe switch.....EXP 2.....0%min and 100%max. However they do not work correctly. When I use the board, on EXP-2 I go no wah effect and on EXP-1 my tone completely changes to a right high chimey tome. I thought I had everything set correctly on the software but no matter what I do I can not get the Wah to work or the pedal to work and no change the tone..........What am I missing??
  20. Hi folks, I followed all the instructions (both video and manual) from Line6 and yt and I'm nowhere near to be able to control pitch shift (like Whammy) or Wah pedal in my chain of effects. What I do: 1. Put Wah pedal in chain of my preset, enter the switch assignment options and choose toe pedal to control wah effect 2. Result: effect is always on, and moving the expression pedal doesn't change anything In pre-made presets however I do can control volume level of some presets, and I also can control VOL level in my own made preset. I did calibrated pedal before using the POD HD500X What Am I possibly doing wrong?
  21. I've watched Glenn videos about wah wah but I think it still sounds very digital. Can anyone suggest how to get that rich, authentic and big wah sound on HD500? For example, the guitar solo from Dream Theater - Wither at 4:00. Thanks guys.
  22. Sorry for being a bit lazy.... On one of my banks, when I switch from button A to B, my wah is already activated upon entering B. How can I set this so that when I go from A to B that the wah isn't on? I normally press the expression pedal to activate the wah and want to keep it this way.
  23. Hi all, quick question: I'd like to be able to activate my Wah via a footswitch instead of useing the expresion pedal toe switch. I like playing live with my volume pedal around 80% it gives me some room to boost when needed and such. My problem is that in order to switch over to WAH useing the expresion pedal toe switch, I have to max out my volume pedal in order to activate it, then i'm stuck at 100% volume for my Wah when what I really want is about 80%. Is there any way around this? I've tried setting the Wah to be controlled by a footswitch but it doesn't seem to work the way that I was hopeing for. Thanks for your time.
  24. I don't use the wah all that often for anything, but there have been times that I've wanted the effect. So far, I can't seem to find any of the HD500 wah's to be anything other than shrill or muddy with nothing in between. Does anyone have any tips on setting up any particular wah model so it's...'milder' is the only term that comes to mind?
  25. Hello. I was wondering if I can get some help. I am trying to get a good wah sound from my rig. The problem is that the wah sound is "topping out" when the FBV expression pedal is at about 70%. How can I adjust the amount of wah on custom presets. I can't seem to find where to adjust the wah percentage (from 0%-100%). I have looked through the manual and I must be missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steven D
