  1. Hi, I'm trying to create a couple of stereo presets for my new HX Stomp XL but find it rather hard to get something together without reaching the DSP limit. My absolute minimum starting point for creating the preset is 2 pre-amps one for the left and one for the right channel to keep it stereo plus one dual cab sim. This already occupies 3 blocks and there is just a tiny little bit of DSP power left. This is just the basics no fancy FX yet. So here are two feature request I would really need in order to create decent stereo presets without buying a bigger unit. And I guess the concept of the Helix is to be able to do stereo, right? 1. Wouldn't it be possible to let the user decide to increase the buffer size to get more DSP power trading-off for some more latency? 2. Like the dual cab, a dual pre-amp would waste less space in the chain. Thanks Timo
  2. I noticed that when switching off a certain effect, say the multitap effect (or any other echo/reverb effect for that matter), the active part instantly gets cut off. Perhaps most of the times this doesn't matter too much, but it would be great to have some control over it. Ideally I'd like to be able to let the old effect 'run its course' and not instantly be cut off. I do understand that DSP power could hit a ceiling when there is a lot of dying-out effects still active. But as long as I'm switching off effects, I don't think that DSP will hit its limit. Instead there could be an option to cut off the old effect when I engage a new effect. Would such a setting be possible?
  3. I hear that the HX Stomp is supposed to get 8 blocks for the Helix 2.0 Firmware update. Anyone have any idea if that's indicative of an under utilized DSP chip? Or is it efficiency improvements to the algorithms themselves? I'm mostly hoping for getting improvements in efficiency, because it would allow me to choose some different options on a path that has lots going on...
  4. Hello! First time poster here. I'm thinking of upgrading to a POD Go from my trusty old HD500X, but I'm not sure I'll be able to run some of my current patches. My main concern is a D.I/clean fender style patch with 2 pitch bend pedals (one an octave above and one an octave below), plate reverb and digital or mod delay. I use this patch quite a lot for clean/ambient tones! As for everything else I use it's usually nothing more than a standard clean, transparent OD or high gain tones with reverb, delay, noise gate, chorus. All of these are mix and match depending on the gig/song but I'd never really exceed the four blocks I can edit apart from the odd volume or EQ that's included in the non-editable blocks! But I would definitely use the four blocks with pretty much all lead/clean tones. I'll be using it live and as an FX unit for demo recording on my PC. If it's the case that the LT would be a better fit I don't mind too much (I'd originally planned on getting a Boss GT-1000... sacrilege I know). Any help/advice would be appreciated!
  5. I have pasted below something that I have just stumbled across online. The suggestion has never occured to me but I can't see why it wouldn't work. Does anyone out there control volume this way? "Extra Volume Pedal Adding a volume pedal to your signal chain on the HD500 takes up one of the eight available FX blocks. But there is a way of getting a volume pedal for free and leaving the eight blocks clear for other effects. Highlight your amp model on the screen and double click Move to open the expression pedal setting screen. The parameter you want is “output†and assign it to EXP1 or EXP2. Set the parameter minimum to zero percent and the maximum to whatever volume you’d originally set for the loudest on that patch. Voila, you can now control the amp model volume via the expression pedal without having to add a volume pedal block to your signal chain. And remember, as the channel volume doesn’t affect the tone this really is purely a volume control."
