Hi guys. So, my old Helix from 2017 fried. I mainly used it for a bit of FX, and as a backup for my Engl Powerball 2. It would control all 4 channels via the ext amp out, and in the command center I could assign whatever channel I wanted to any button. The options then were tip, ring, 1 and 2, or None, which equated to each of the 4 channels. I hadn't updated it since ver. 3.0 or something, because I got what I needed from it. So, I finally bought a new one. I updated it immediately. Now, the "None" option is gone from the Control Center Amp Cntrl, and it won't let me switch channels the same way, or at all in Preset nor Snapshot mode. The upper right button (FS6) now reads PRESET/STOMP. I toggle to stomp, then it allows me to toggle through the amp channels. I'm hoping it's a simple fix and user error, but, I'm not a happy camper. Helix's ability to control external amp channel and/or reverb switching has been tested with many popular amps and heads. Unfortunately this does not guarantee compatibility with all products. Note that, depending on the circuitry of the channel switching jack in the guitar amp used, the EXT Amp function may not operate as expected.

I was thinking of using the ext amp on the Helix LT as a footswitch to control the Boss RC3. I don't have the RC3 yet but would like to know if it is possible. -
If you're using the FBV 3, or the FBV Shortboard MKII with the Spider V series, you have the option of utilizing an external expression pedal. The external pedal would be plugged into the EXP Pedal jack on the FBV. This is how they interact with the Spider V's patches. On patches without tweak assign to pedal, the external pedal becomes volume, the on-board pedal controls wah position, and toe switch toggles wah bypass. On patches with tweak assigned to pedal, the external pedal controls the tweak-assigned parameter. The on-board pedal controls volume and wah, and the toe switch toggles between wah and volume control.
