I want to be able to use external overdrive pedals with my FHFX but it doesn't seem to want to work. I get a lot of unwanted noise if I put it through the loop regardless if the pedal is turned on or off. The noise gets really loud if I put the loop before the amp modal. The pedal sounds horrific no matter where it is in the chain. I have the same issues regardless of what pedal I try. If I put the pedal in the front of my physical chain (before the the FHFX, not using the loop) I get unwanted distortion (like clipping). This distortion results from use with any pedal including clean effects like reverb. Is there an input gain on the FHFX that I am missing some where? Any help anyone can offer on how to effectively use external effects pedals with the FHFX would be greatly appreciated.
Hi guys. Just purchased the TC Nova delay as well as the TC Hall of Fame reverb pedals. Checked them in the store and sounded excellent. Now I just discovered when hooking the the pedals to my POD XT the sound is very bad. The sound as kind of distorted like it delivers way too much input. I don't get this? I usually run a Maxon OD808 in front of the POD XT and it sounds brilliant. I only use the "Balance" option in this pedal though, and not the overdrive. Anyways my setup is this: Guitar -> Maxon OD808 -> Hall of Fame Reverb -> Nova delay -> Pod XT Also tried going guitar -> Hall of Fame -> Pod XT with same crappy result. What am I missing here??
I am wondering how is the quality of sound with partnered with external analog pedals (pre, in FX Loop, and post). For example, I'll put my favorite OD before (either pre HD500x or in an FX loop block) a preamp-model in HD500x. Does it sound good or does the HD500x alter it in some way. Can you share some good tips in mixing analog pedals with HD500x. Thank you :)
Guys: I am using the 4 cable method to connect my POD HD500 to a Blackstar HT60 Stage amp. I am still fighting to get a good tone. Anyway, I need to connect my Wah (Morley Dragon 2) pedal, Tech 21 British and Suhr Riot pedals in the chain. I understand there are two options: 1) Connect the guitar >> wah, than Tech 21/Suhr pedals >> POD HD500 Guitar In 2) Connect the guitar >> POD HD500 Guitar in and POD HD500 FX Send >> Wah, Tech 21/Suhr pedals >> Amp Input. Sound is different. I like most the sound of Tech 21 / Suhr by method "1". However, the wah has no effect in both methods. Please, let me know what is the best way of connecting external pedals in the chain when using 4 Cable Method and POD HD500. Att, Emerson.
