  1. A few days ago I had to change my phone, since the previous one no longer charged the battery. To my surprise, the application of the Firehawk FX does not work with the new phone anymore, apparently due to incompatibility with the new version of Android. This is really frustrating, the application gave access to all its parameters quickly and intuitively. Without it, working with the pedal board is very complicated. I understand that it may seem unprofitable for Line 6 to make the effort to maintain an application for a discontinued product, but for users, the app is essential, and if there's no update, you get an angry user with a product that makes him unhappy. Why make life more complicated for us, the users? Why not offer solutions that benefit us all? You could, for example, develop paid updates for discontinued products. Let's say you offer the ability to get Firehawk FX upgrades for a reasonable price profitable for the Line 6 development effort, and not too expensive for us, the users. I would update gladly, paying to be able to continue using my pedal board along with my mobile phone. On the other hand, if you develops a PC version of this pedalboard's soft, I would be happy to acquire a license to use it. Please think about it. Surely I'm not the only user frustrated for not being able to have the app of the Firehawk FX working, and surely like me, there will be many who would pay a reasonable price for an update. All the best.
  2. Hi guys! Long story short: would you still recommend buying the FHFX this christmas (2019)? I read a lot of posts about bugs, lag etc. but how good/bad does it hold up, being a couple of years old already. Long story long: my brother plays guitar and does background vocals in our rock cover band. We do all kinds of rock-related music, some 80s rock and metal, some grunge, some new metal, some indie etc. There's even the odd jazzy tune that we cover from time to time. Because we play such a variety of songs, my brother switched from his Hagström to a Variax and just loves it. All of us in the band to, to be honest. Now that the Variax sounds so good, he is looking into downsizing from his 50 watt tube amp and stomp box pedal board with 4x12" cab to a modeler. However, the Helix LT is just too pricey and here in Germany, used ones aren't that much lower than new ones. So the idea now is to go with the Firehawk FX as it can be had for literally a fraction of the cost. The big upside is its "keep it straight and simple" approach. My brother loves his android tables (a lenovo) so the whole idea of remote controling his tone seems to be very sensible. However - some of the posts in this forums make me wonder how usable the device is at all. Is the audio quality still good compared to modern modeles such as the Helix? How bad are the lag and connection issues these days? Is it a viable option for live usage (as we play a gig once in a while)? I would love to read your thoughts on this. -pac PS: the reason I post this thread is simply that I already have a Line 6 account and he doesn't yet.
  3. Just purchased an Amplifi 75 over this past weekend and its my first time diving into this system. To make a long story short - I totally dig the system and I am now looking at my options. This led me into the path of buying the new FBV MK3 floorboard to control my amp and patches....however.... that got me into thinking I could buy the Firehawk FX (which is everything the amplifi is, and the FBV3) but does NOT have the speaker. I am a Dad / busy / hobbyist guitarist and I like the idea of having the amplifi in my office to get me jamming out a few minutes each day. The Firehawk gets me more 'things' per se - the floor board control, the HD amp models, all the iOS control, etc. but just no speaker. I would be basically removing the live speaker element out of the equation and likely only ever playing with headphones. I paid $549 for the amplifi. The Firehawk FX is $599. If I purchase the FBV3 to go with my amplifi that is $549 + $349 = a hell of a lot more than the Firehawk current....again, with no speaker or sound. What would you do?
