  5. Changes to macOS Security Policy With Silicon processor computers running macOS Big Sur or greater, Apple has changed their security policy. These machines no longer allow third party drivers to be installed in the manner that they previously had. Driver installs now require the macOS security settings to be lowered before installation. As Silicon is still new to everyone, we expect to see bug fixes, changes and optimizations to macOS Big Sur and possibly subsequent macOS releases over the coming months. With that, the Silicon driver install process may change as well. As such, we encourage you to update your Silicon machine to the latest Big Sur version, which is currently 11.6, before installing drivers. Changing Security Settings Apple’s guide to changing security settings on a Silicon Mac are found at: https://support.apple.com/en-lk/guide/m … 8f7291/mac · Shut down your Mac · Press and hold the power button until you see "Loading startup options …". Your Mac will boot into Recovery mode. · Click Options (the gear icon), then click Continue · In macOS Recovery, you may need to choose your account and click Next. Enter the password and click Continue. · In the top menu go to Utilities...Startup Security Utility · Select the system on which you want to install the Driver. If the disk is encrypted with FileVault, click Unlock, enter the password, and then click Unlock. · Click Security Policy, choose Reduced Security and check the option to allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers · Click OK. Enter the password for your account and click OK. · Restart your Mac from Apple menu Rosetta Installation When installing the Line 6 driver from the downloaded dmg file, you may be prompted to install Rosetta. · If so, click “Install”. Enter your password when requested. · If you see “System Extension Blocked”, go into System Preferences...Security and Privacy, click the lock, enter your password, click Unlock, and choose Allow. · Restart your Mac. Driver Removal It is advised that no programs are open, especially programs that may require the kext that is about to be removed. 1. In Finder, locate the kext file that is to be removed. Kext files are located in Library/Extensions. Keep this finder window open. 2. Open Terminal. Type the following command followed by the pathway of the kext that you would like to remove. Type without the quotes: "sudo kmutil unload -p /Library/Extensions/<Kext Name>". (ex. "sudo kmutil unload -p /Library/Extensions/L6Helix.kext") and click enter. 3. Enter your password. There should be no message after this. 4. Go to the finder window that was left open in step 1 and remove the kext file to the trash. You will be prompted to enter your password. 5. Restart your computer. 6. Go to Library/Extensions in finder and verify that the kext file is no longer in the extensions folder. If you see a message in Terminal (after Step 3), chances are there is another program open operating in the background that may interrupt the command. If so, restart your computer - verify there are no applications open and begin steps 1-6 again.

  7. The spider V 60 DSP (2017) appears to be a source of failure with an outrageous cost to replace the sub board _ more than the unit is worth - with No support or return !! what sort of Customer product Support is this??? The repair Centre admits it's not economic to repair at all disgusted !! steve
  8. Well, I was enjoying 2.8 for a day. Tonight I went to adjust a parameter with the #4 knob and the setting changed about 10% and that was it. Knob no longer controls value up or down. The push push/hold functions still work, but knob appears dead. Did the full factory reset, no change. I rolled back to 2.71, no change. Back to 2.8, Reset no change. I'm guessing it's hardware and a coincidence to the 2.8 upgrade. I thought I'd post here in case anyone else has similar issues, I'll test again tomorrow Edited to add: I restarted Helix with switches 4&5 pressed down. If you select UI mode using the joystick you can test your switches and knobs. Screen starts all red, and each listed parameter will turn green after it tests as functional. My "encoder 4" appears to be dead.
  9. I wanted to know if I can connect my ANALOG OUTS (Left/Right) of the UX2 to the IN of the compressor and the OUT of the compressor to the LINE IN (Left/Right) of UX2 at the back? Would this configuration work for using the compressor?
  10. Hello everyone, I'm considering purchase of a Helix. The posts here and on other media are very encouraging. Jason Sadites is doing a great job in explaining and promoting the Helix! I'm a bit concerned about hardware though since I had a bad experience with Line6 earlier. Many years ago, I purchased an XT Live. I used it only about 5 times. Then one day, when I turned it on, there was a backlight under LCD, some leds on switches but no response to any buttons. Then I searched the forums and found too many people had the "Sudden Blank Screen Syndrome". All had similar situation : Very slight use, sudden loss of response, only backlight and few LEDS on but no other response. It seems that it was a very common affair. http://talk.philmusic.com/index.php?topic=218708.0 ( Collection of various posts on same issue) https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=91949.0 Since I had purchased the box from another country, It was prohibitively expensive for me to courier the XT back to that country for repairs. I had an expensive but cute looking brick on my hands. There was no repair centre in my country. So I switched to other brands for last 10 years. Now I'm seriously considering Line6 again but am being held back due to the past bad experience. I'm not trying to troll !! ( I have written DSP firmware for some boxes. I hand built many Analog effect boxes in last 30 years. I'm serious) Please be kind to share your experiences regarding the reliability of the current HELIX hardware.

A: In relation to Mobile POD purchases, Apple administers the content in their store. Line 6 Support cannot grant refunds or restore licenses, only Apple can. We suggest reviewing your iTunes account's Purchase History when talking to their Support Team would be helpful Compatibility and Hardware: Q: If I already own Mobile POD from my Line 6 Sonic Port, will I be charged to download this version of Mobile POD to work on other devices? A: No. If you already own Mobile POD from a Line 6 product, you simply need to download the latest version of the app from the App Store. Q: What devices is Mobile POD compatible with? A: Mobile POD can be used with any Core Audio interface. However, the best experience is with a Line 6 Sonic Port or Sonic Port VX, as they are the only guitar interfaces with 120 dB of dynamic range - capturing every nuance of each performance, with headroom to spare. Firehawk TT

I want a Firehawk TT. The circuits and software of a Firehawk FX floorboard in the hardware design of the Amplifi TT. I know most gigging pros probably prefer a floorboard unit, but I'd love a desktop unit. I'd plunk down my hard-earned cash if Line 6 releases something like this. Any thoughts? Limitations or reason why they won't? Anybody else want something like this?
  13. Hello friends, perhaps you can help me with this one. Both the phones and line outs from my ux1 have louder right channels than left channels. This is especially noticeable at lower output, where if i turn it down enough, it's like only one speaker is playing. It's not my mac or my phones, because using the same headphones I get a balanced output directly from the computer. Logic follows that it can't be the speakers either, because that would be a crazy coincidence that they have the same problem as the headphones when the headphones only have the problem when plugged into the ux1. It also follows that can't be the cables because my phones and my monitors use different cables, and when I swap the left and right cables at the outputs, the other monitor sounds louder. My unit is fairly old, but I noticed this once years ago, forgot about it, and am only now trying to deal with it as I get more serious about my critical listening and production. I also looked around online and this seems to be a common problem with some ux2 and ux1 units, but not all of them, meaning it's almost certainly a defect. My warranty probably doesn't apply anymore, so any ideas on what else I could do to solve this?
  14. Hi, I'm having problems when saving a tone from My Tones to hardware (amplifi fx100). I go to my tones tab, select one tone so it's colored in red (selected), then when I choose save to hardware it throws an error message "please try again later. Your presets are currently downloading from Amplifi" Any idea of what's going on?? If someone had this issue and solved it please help. Cheers, Mike
  15. Is there any way to transfer a tone in pod farm to a hardware pod or is there a reliable way to bring your laptop and ux1 to a gig and use pod farm with long cables? Does anyone here have any experience with this?
  16. Hi fellas! , I want to thank you beforehand for any support I'll receive on this matter. :) thx! So, running logic and trying this time to make the podfarm sound solely in there- Everything works splendidly! Problem is- I use a laptop..I'm kind of a "on-the-run" type of guy- but even though this computer is authorized in the license manager, It won't load particular amps it seems... Wait, I think I just figured out my problem while typing this.... ....My PODXT came with the Power Pack...and I read somewhere that it's bound to the PODXT... ....I just bought the other packs recently, ....So, using a "Power pack" amp probably won't work unless the licensed PODXT is plugged in... Bing! Hey, that must be it...- better pre-record those Power Pack amps... I'll post this anyways- should someone run into the same "problem", perhaps another enlightenment will come out of reading what I just wrote :P Thanks, and perhaps- "you're welcome", and sorry if I wasted your time Oh, and any forum mod- I'd totally understand if you'd decide to delete this post  ..nice smileys btw Freakface
  17. Using Pod Farm as a plugin, can I insert a hardware send and return in my signal path? I want to add physical pedals at various points of the signal flow. Thanks, Dennis

  19. Many new users have contacted us with questions regarding the usage of Line 6 POD Studio USB audio interfaces in conjunction with AVID's ProTools recording software. Here are a few important things to be aware of: ProTools version 8.05 or earlier requires that the user runs a proprietary DigiDesign,AVID or M-Audio audio interface device with this software. POD Studio devices cannot be connected to Pro Tools via USB and used as the main audio Input/Output device. Basically, the AVID-approved hardware device has proprietary security/licensing scheme embedded inside to allow the user to run the Pro Tools application. If the device isn't present, the program will not launch. Pro Tools 9.0 or later can interface directly with Line 6 interfaces. This version supports ASIO,Core Audio and third party audio interfaces. If you are currently running Version 8 and would like to use your POD, POD Studio or TonePort with Pro Tools, you will have to upgrade. Line 6 License Manager can authorize your Line 6 licenses to your computer, allowing you to use your Line 6 Software in any Pro Tools version without the need for a Line 6 interface. For more information, please refer to page 1.5 of the Line 6 License Manager User Guide. For more information about ProTools, you can visit AVID's website. Of course, you can use the Line 6 POD Studio USB interfaces with any recording applications that do not require a proprietary hardware device. Among these programs would be: SONAR, Cubase, Digital Performer, Live, Logic, GarageBand, Reaper just to name a few.
