  1. Hey all, I didn't see any post that covers a potential bug I've found yet so posting here. I am using Helix Native 3.71 on Windows 11. My PC is decently high-end, 32gb RAM, 7900x CPU, etc. I've confirmed this occurs in both Cubase Pro 13 and FL Studio 21.2.2. Fresh installs of everything. UMC404HD interface. Helix Native works fine once added to a channel initially, and even after switching through a few different presets, but eventually after switching through many presets (30+) it stops outputting any audio. The plugin still does show the input levels are present (see pics), but even if you disable all the effects or switch presets, once it enters this broken state it will no longer output any audio. If you restart the DAW or delete the plugin from the channel and re-add it then it works fine with any preset again. In FL Studio, it actually makes a quick buzzing sound at the moment it breaks. When this occurs, other instances of Native on other channels don't cease functioning. This feels like it might be a memory leak within the plugin; resources are being allocated when switching between presets but never released, so eventually it presents an OOM exception in Native. It seems to happen faster when switching between more intensive presets (ie: DEVIN TOWNSEND). However, I don't see any increase in memory usage in the Task Manager when this happens. Does anyone know why this is occurring and how to resolve it? Is it possible to file a bug report? Would any other information could help debug this? Greatly appreciate any insight, thanks.
  2. Hello folks, They call me GEDD! I am fairly new to modeling. Got myself a helix floor unit a couple of months back. I have been expanding my knowledge in and around properly utilizing it. In this pursuit of creating my desired tones below are some questions i have for you. QUESTION 1: How do you choose a cab to compliment the tone that you have already achieved in the signal chain pre adding a CAB? QUESTION 2: Looking at the signal chain from every point of view (technical or otherwise) is a cab "mandatory" to be added in a signal chain if the you have already achieved the desired tone? I hope to get different takes on how each of you approach this part of the signal chain and what is the factual / feel reason that prompts you make the cab choices you make. I would also appreciate any tips or advise you have to offer. Thanks for taking the time in reading this post and contributing. Cheers - GEDD I have attached a custom tone file in which i have already achieved the tone i am looking for. Feel free to take a look. GRAM-GSG (EX).hlx
  3. I'm writing a song that uses a square or saw tooth tremelo effect synced to the beat with a 100% intensity for the primary rhythm element. I've found that though you can sync the tempo to the track, you can't control the start of the tremelo cycle with the DAW to sync it up with other elements. This means that each time you start the track, the phase of the cycle may not be what you expect. That makes it very difficult to sync up properly... For example, I've set up a sine wave generator, then an instance of Helix Native with a single Modulation > Mono > Tremelo: I've then set up my DAW to enable the effect at a particular spot in the "song" so that the effect would theoretically start the cycle the same each time. Then, I rendered the same section of song 3 times and added them to the project. As you can see, the first bar is the solid block sine wave, and then the tremelo effect is kicked on. You'll notice that the phase of each cycle is quite different, even though they all are turned on at the exact same time. (Three may have been me accidentally leaving one unmuted before the next render) Next, I attempted to bypass the Helix plugin entirely, rather than just the tremelo effect block. The same behavior is exhibited. The start time of the cycle is entirely unpredictable, and appears to simply be running non-stop after you load the plugin into memory or something. As suspected, this is true for other Modulation effects as well. Here's the same test using a whole not with the Script Mod Phase effect: Helix Native needs to honor the Host Sync's start event (assuming that actually exists) to reset it's LFO for Modulation effects. Otherwise, results are unpredictable and potentially unusable during rendering. :( I haven't tested the Helix Floor pedal to see if the bypass/enable of a trem effect resets the LFO, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had the same basic problem...
  4. Hello, I have a Helix Native plugin for sale for £160. I can transfer the license or pass the entire account. PM if interested. Cheers!
  5. There’s a particular type of workflow i wish i could have while recording a guitar. I’m using a DAW for music production. Usually when i’m composing i tend use many plugins where each plugin introduces some latency. Obviously the latencies add up the more plugins i’m using. I’d like to be able to record a guitar with almost zero latency while tracking and be able to audition the presets and see what sound fits the track i’m working on on the spot. Of course It’s pretty much impossible to do this using Helix Native in my DAW with a huge latency in my project. Would getting a Line 6 help me achive this workflow at all? So that i could use it, pick a preset from Line 6, hear it with no latency while playing along to the track in my DAW then record a dry signal into my DAW and afterwards i could process that dry signal with exactly the same preset in Helix Native in my DAW? Does that make any sense at all and is anyone doing it this way? I am very eager to find a way of making this type of workflow possible because i’m bit tired of having to freeze my tracks and turning off the plugins all the time.
  6. Anyone know how I can get the old Kashmir preset for native or what the blocks would be so i could replicate it? I had it some years ago in a trial with Helix Native. I ended up freezing the patch in my DAW as not to lose the sound of it. Now I have Native and of course it updated over the old. Any suggestions? Thanks
  7. Please help! I'm pulling what's left of my hair out. I load an instance of Native into the Audio FX slot in Logic Pro and plug my guitar into Hi-Z. I can hear the un-effected guitar come through but no signal to Native. The only way I can get signal is using HX Edit routing through MIDI and then to Native, as shown in a Chad Boston YT tutorial, but Native is supposed to be able to be used as an audio plug in, correct? No need for HX Edit. My drivers / Firmware are all up to date on everything Helix. I'm so confused. Also... when I try to record with my Helix LT connected via XLR, there's crazy latency even though my buffer size is low. Any suggestions??
  8. Hello! First post to the forum. I've been having trouble in Helix Native. I had originally started with 2.90 and that was working great, and went to update to 3.51 and I would get "an unexpected error has occured" message and saying a crash dump had been created. I've tried uninstalling both applications, and even go as far as to update from 2.90 to 3.51 via every update in order and nothing seems to work. Luckily I'm able to revert to 2.90 and get helix native to operate again, but I'm really wanting the functionality of the latest update. Would anyone out there have an idea as to what is going on and why this would be happening? I searched and searched for a forum with this specific problem and couldn't find anything so I apologize if there's a duplicate out there. Thanks!
  9. Hello, for a while now I am unable to use my purchased Line 6 Helix Native and support also seems to be unhelpful since they just sent me an instruction that is already in a different blog. However this does not seem to work for me. Has anybody faced this issue yet and has any idea on how to fix it? This is what was proposed to me (sorry for the German language) bitte Folgendes probieren: 1. 10. Hi everyone. I have an Helix Floor and I use to connect my JTV69 on it directly by VDI and record on Logic Pro. sometimes I would like to record or play without my Helix Floor but just With Helix Native and my Variax. The question is : how to connect the Variax by VDI without the Helix Floor ? thank you.
  11. I recently purchased a set of M1 iMac and had it Logic Pro X installed. This M1 iMac is Big Sur based computer, by the way. Along with also newly purchased Symphony Desktop from Apogee, I tried to use my Helix Native, version 3.1.1, which I had been using on my Intel Macbook Pro as well. Only problem is, while, plug-ins provided by Apogee for Symphony Desktop seems to work fine on my M1 iMac, I just cannot load the Helix Native 3.1.1 in Logic. So, I went back and forth, uninstalled the Helix Native plug-in from my M1 iMac, and reinstalled, but I got a message saying, it "couldn't be opened" in the plug-in manager. I just want to confirm, that I am not the only one with this issue. I mean, I just want to know if this is a on-going issue, i.e. Helix Native 3.1.1.'s compatibility issue on M1 Macs. If not, I would really appreciate a word of advice on this.
  12. It is an ir that is being used by Helix, but it cannot be imported from Helix Native. What should I do? The program I am using is Logic Pro x. plz help
  13. Hi guys, I'm new in the Line6 world. I'm trying Helix Native on my Mac and I'm pretty satisfied. I've used Fractal Axe for years and now I have a real amp into an Apollo OX, getting a more pure sound but also very limited in terms of sound shaping options. I work mainly in studio so I don't need a live-tour portable setup, so I was thinking if there are any differences in terms of algorithm and sound between the Native Software version and the Helix Rack for example, in order to save money, since having a dedicated machine in studio its not essential for me. Tks for feedback
  14. Hi I use Helix Native within Logic as it gives me the ability to just record the straight guitar signal & thus give me the ability to re-amp at a later stage etc.. I would like to know if it is possible to use my Helix Floor pedal to control patch changes, turn FX on & off & use Snapshots in real time. My Helix ~Floor is connected to my Mac via USB & I feel sure that I should be able to do this but I'm not exactly sure how I go about it? I am using Logic X as my DAW.I can see Helix listed in the Midi Environment (Clicks & Ports). Do I connect the Helix (within the midi environment) to the "Input Notes" or "Sequencer Input" and do I then have to do anything else? I obviously don't want the Helix Floor to effect any midi changes to anything other than Helix Native. Here's hoping someone can help me out.
  15. So I'm having an issue since I upgraded to Windows 11. I can't seem to get past the login screen of Helix Native. It just freezes, this is on vst3 and vst2, version 3.11 and 3.15
  16. Update: The issue was resolved by opening up Native (with the error message) and then clicking on the gearbox in the lower left corner. I then de-authorized and re-authorized the laptop, and everything seems ok now. ========================================================= (Previously): I downloaded the 1.01 installer, and it installed fine on my desktop, but not on my laptop . Version 1.00 installed fine with no issue on my laptop. It seemed to install ok on my laptop (Device Dell7359 is computer name) (using ASIO4ALL), but when I try to bring it up, I get the message: "Failed to connect to DSP engine. (Device has not been initialized properly) " I tried my GT-001 with the same message. Otherwise, both drivers work fine; it is only with Line 6 plugins. version 1.00 worked fine..... When I tried to bring up Pod Farm 2, it said the computer was not authorized. I tried to do everything I could think of (including re-authorizing and rebooting), but to no avail. So I think something went haywire with the licensing...
  17. Some users have had the Helix Native VST3 plugin file blacklisted within Cubase. Here is some troubleshooting info that may help. Be sure to try these steps in the exact order: 1. Uninstall the plug-in binaries and resource files, shown below 2. Launch Cubase so that it can clear it’s plugin cache 3. Quit Cubase completely 4. then reinstall Helix Native, latest version from our downloads page: https://line6.com/software/ You will need to uninstall Helix Native by deleting the plugin files listed here: Plug-in Binaries /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/Line 6/Helix Native.aaxplugin /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Helix Native.component /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/Line 6/Helix Native.vst /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Line 6/Helix Native.vst3 Plug-in Resources /Library/Application Support/Line 6/Helix Native/da /Library/Application Support/Line 6/Helix Native/res
  18. Hi, I'm digging in to doing some re-amping, with a choice of using either my Helix Floor or Helix Native for the job. I've got my routing working either way, and they both sound great, but it appears there is one compelling reason to do the majority of re-amping "discovery" in Helix Native. The reason is that, so far as I have been able to determine, checking out different patches via Helix Floor requires me to reset the Helix Floor patch input (e.g. to USB 3-4) every time I change to a new patch. OTOH, when using Helix Native, I can just click on new patches bing-bang-boom, no input resetting required. This is MUCH quicker! Do I understand the situation correctly, or am I missing the trick as to how to re-amp with Helix Floor without having to constantly set the patch input? (All the above using Helix ASIO driver, with a music mix playing back from the DAW)
  19. I just installed Helix Native and try to use it inside latest Cubase (11.0.41). My Windows 10 computer has two 4k Monitors connected. When the VSt window opens I see the Helix UI only very small, so I activate the "Allow window to be resized" function on the window. Window closes for some seconds and comes back in resized fashion. But as soon as it reappears a loud hissing sound (volume bar of channel shows -19 dB) can be heard. This happens every time I activate or de-activate the "allow window to be resized" function. To stop the hiss, I have to remove the HelixNative plugin from the channel's insert slot and have to re-select it there again. Is anybody aware of this issue? Is there perhaps another way to resize the plugin window for HiDPI displays (AFAIK the Cubase function "allow window to be resized" is only meant for legacy VSTs that are not aware of HiDPI)? best regards
  20. Hello, I just purchased Helix native. But that’s after this summer purchasing a used pod HD500x and 2 DT 50 amps one head and a 212. I’m retired living on a fixed income for now so I can’t afford a helix fit now but I took advantage of Sweetwater’s half off sale for the helix Native for 199.00 couldent turn that down plus got my buddy who prior was anti line 6 or digital anything. Anyway here’s what I’d like to do . Record into the Logic daw then the helix as AU in fx. Currently I have 2 audio interfaces my old old x3 pro and my newer HD500x. I’d like to use the HD500x and be able to plug my Variax Standard which I’m also fond of rout that signal with no coloring from the hd500, then be able to plug back into my twin DT 50s using the L6 Link of the HD500x so I can hear the helix sound through my DT 50s. I can’t find any instructional video regarding that setup. Basically I want to replace the sounds of the HD500x with the helix native but keep the dt50 setup. On top of that using the MIDI setup in the HD500x not the usb control helix native with my DT 500x. I fear I’ve made things too complicated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know this says I’m just starting out but I’ve owned every Variax including a few basses, every pod, 2 vettas and the one before the vetta, getting old lol memories goin. Lol. Appreciate any suggestions while I experiment on my own thanks , Mark
  21. Version française. Deutsche Version. We have created an accompanying video tutorial for the License Manager below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=GStUee2cyz4 What is the Line 6 License Manager? Similar to online services such as iTunes or Google Play Store, the Line 6 License Manager allows you to authorize & manage all of your purchased Line 6 software licenses so that they function simultaneously with multiple computers and/or Line 6 devices. For instance, you can have a Mac computer, a Windows computer, a POD XT, and a TonePort, and be able to use your purchased licenses on all of them once the devices are properly authorized. This goes for new license purchases as well as purchases made in the past. Additionally, the Line 6 License Manager provides online access to your line6.com User Account, allowing you to reference your purchase history, register your gear, manage account options and more! The License Manager replaces Line 6 Monkey as the tool to use to manage licenses. Line 6 Monkey continues to be used as an updating tool for Line 6 devices. What devices work with the License Manager? A compatible device can be a Mac or Windows computer, or any supported Line 6 USB device that is connected. POD HD/HDX, POD Studio, TonePort, GuitarPort, POD X3 and POD XT devices are all supported for license authorization. Can I remove licenses from my Line 6 device or transfer them to a different Line 6 device? Since your purchased licenses are attached to your account, and not your devices, using licenses on different Line 6 devices is only a matter of authorizing the devices. NOTE: One exception is Factory Add-Ons. These are features that can only be used with the device it came with and cannot be removed from that device to be shared with your other Line 6 devices. For example, POD XT Live comes with an FX Junkie Add-On. After authorization, License Manager does not make that unit's FX Junkie available to your other authorized devices. In License Manager, Factory Add-Ons are displayed in italics once you've selected a device and goes on to say "these Add-Ons can only be authorized on this device". How many devices can I authorize? You can authorize your purchased license(s) to more than one device at the same time; however, your number of simultaneously active authorizations is limited to five. This limit includes four of the same type of device (i.e. four different UX-1 devices, or four different computers) simultaneously authorized. If you have reached the maximum number of allowable authorized devices, the License Manager will remind you of this. If this happens, you can Deauthorize one or more of your authorized (computer or Line 6) devices within the License Manager. This will then allow you authorize another device. You can authorize up to eleven unique devices over the lifetime of your Line 6 account. Additionally, the maximum number of Line 6 accounts that can authorize a specific device over its lifetime is limited to five. How do I authorize my device(s) for use with my licenses? Download and install the latest version of Line 6 License Manager for your operating system from the Line 6 software page. Go to the following link for software downloads: Line 6 Software downloads. Before launching the Line 6 License Manager, be sure to have your Internet connection active (and your Line 6 device connected, if you are using one). Launch the License Manager: On Mac® - Go to /Applications/Line 6/Line 6 License Manager. On Windows® - Go to Start menu\Programs\Line 6\Tools\Line 6 License Manager. Log in to your Line 6 account. Select the device you want to authorize for use with your licenses and click the authorize button. Once the authorization process completes, you may be prompted with a screen informing you that your Line 6 device includes some Add-Ons that need to be Installed on your device. If you are presented with this screen, click the Install button to proceed. If the Install button or the list of your software is missing, use the "Scan for Devices" button, or restart License Manager. Deauthorize then authorize again if these actions don't resolve the issue. At this point, you are able to use your licenses on your authorized device. Repeat this process with any of your other devices you want to authorize for use with your licenses. My Line 6 hardware is already authorized. How do I add my recently purchased software to my device? If you recently purchased software on your Line 6 account, and License Manager shows that your computer or Line 6 hardware is already authorized but does not show the new software in the 'Add-Ons' list, de-authorize the device(s) you want to use with the new software. Afterwards, authorize the device(s) to use the new software. I authorized my device(s), but I don't see anything under "Add-Ons". Are my licenses gone??? Your licenses are attached to your account until you gift them to another account. Click on the "Scan for Devices" button if they don't appear after authorizing, or restart the app. Can I use the License Manager to activate or manage RiffWorks or iLok licenses? The License Manager will manage the Line 6 version of RiffWorks, but not RiffWorks Standard, which requires a SonomaKey from Sonoma Wireworks. iLok licenses are deposited from your Line 6 account to your www.iLok.com account, but License Manager is not used to do this. Is an Internet connection required to purchase licenses and authorize devices? Yes, purchasing of licenses requires an Internet connection. After the purchase, License Manager must connect to your Line 6 account so you can authorize your device(s) for use with your purchased license. How do I deauthorize a device? To deauthorize an authorized device, select the device within Line 6 License Manager and click the Deauthorize button. When deauthorizing a Line 6 USB device, you may also be presented with an extra step to Remove the licenses from the device. If you are presented with this screen, just click Remove and wait for the Line 6 Server to properly configure your device. If anything happens to my Line 6 device, or my hard drive crashes, do I lose my licenses? No, your model packs will be safe. They are tied to your Line 6 account, not your Line 6 devices or the software installation on your computer. Your Line6.com user account maintains a record of all model pack purchases. In the event that your device needs repairs or replacement, Line 6 Customer Support will be able to deauthorize the faulty device as needed. I can't use my licenses anymore. What happened? Please understand that only the account that purchased the licenses will be able to access the licenses, regardless of who has the device containing the licenses. If you can't access this account, you won't be able to access the licenses contained within it. For instance, if someone bought a used POD XT that was authorized with a Metal Shop license, and at some point the buyer deauthorized the POD XT or authorized any other license, the Metal Shop license that was on the POD XT would be removed. The buyer would no longer be able to use Metal Shop because the buyer's account was not used to make the Metal Shop purchase. The seller would have to gift the model pack to the buyer's account (see how to gift below). Another case is a father using his Line 6 account to buy a model pack for his daughter. He'd have to gift the purchase to her Line 6 account for her to have access to the model pack. Another scenario involves licenses purchased online. Line 6 is the only authorized seller of licenses for use with Line 6 devices. If you purchased Line 6 licenses from anywhere other than the Line 6 website, the licenses were originally purchased using a Line 6 user account other than your own and the licenses have reverted to that account. The account owner would have to gift the store order to you in order for you to use the licenses you purchased from that individual. Line 6 plays no part in this situation. What if I sell my device? What happens to my licenses? If you intended to sell your licenses with the device, then you can gift the relevant store order(s) to the buyer. If you didn't intend to sell your licenses with the device, when the buyer runs the License Manager and logs in, it will prompt him to authorize the hardware, which will remove the device authorization from your account and restore the licenses for use with your account. How do I gift a store order? Use the License Manager to first deauthorize all of your devices. Next, log in to your Line 6 account, visit the Purchase History page, and click the Details link for the order. Click the link/button labeled "gift", then enter the destination Line 6 account username and click confirm. The order will still show in your account history, but you will not have access to the license(s) from the order, be able to return it, or be able to gift it again. The giftee's account will display the order on the Purchase History page, but not be able to return or gift it. The account holder will have access to all the license(s) in the order. After deauthorizing your devices and completing the gifting process, you can re-authorize your devices to use with any remaining licenses. NOTE: Model Packs purchased as part of an email promotion cannot be gifted. How do I return my purchased license? Line 6 will gladly provide a full refund of any Line 6 License order within fifteen (15) days of the order date. After 15 days, returns will not be accepted and no refunds will be issued. Please note: All Software purchased in a single transaction must be returned together. A refund for less than the full original order amount cannot be issued. Contact our staff at www.Line6.com/company/contact to initiate a refund. You must first have fully deauthorized all of your devices using License Manager before the return process can begin. After our staff has determined the devices are deauthorized, a refund will be processed. The completion of the refund process can take up to 5-7 business days, depending on your bank. Once you receive confirmation that the process has begun, you can re-authorize your devices to use with any remaining licenses. I don't see my connected device in License Manager. What's wrong? If you don't immediately see your connected device, try connecting it to a different USB port on your computer and click the Scan for Devices button. Additionally, disconnect all hubs and non-essential USB, Firewire, and MIDI devices from your computer. Turn off any other programs that may be running and de-activate all anti-virus software installed on your computer. License Manager says that there is no connection to the internet even though I am connected and able to access the internet normally. What's wrong? There are a number of issues that can cause Line 6 License Manager to not be able to connect with the Line 6 servers. The biggest offenders are pop-up blockers and surfing anonymizers. Please disable these tools if they are active during your session. Which server port does License Manager access and how does it need to be configured? Your server connections need to have port 80 or 443 outbound. Another option is to use a proxy server. What are the system requirements for the Line 6 License Manager? The Line 6 License Manager is compatible with the following operating systems: Windows: XP or newer Mac: OSX 10.4 or newer Line 6: License Manager: Häufig gestellte Fragen: Wir haben ein Begleitvideo in Englisch hierzu erstellt, welches Sie ganz oben finden können. Ihr Line6.com Benutzerkonto beinhaltet all Ihre Lizenzen.
  22. Hi. I have a Helix floor and Helix Native. I don't know if this has been asked before. But is there a way I can transfer all my Helix floor patches to Native and Hx stomp? Thanks
  23. Dude this is getting ridiculous. How do I save newly created presets and changes?? I'm using Logic Pro X and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong here. I create a preset or I make changes to a preset, I click the drop down at the top left of the Helix Native plug-in and click SAVE. It acts like it saves something. I double click to a different preset then back. Changes are GONE. WTF am I doing wrong? Please help me as I am at the end of my rope here. I wanted to create, not perform IT functions in order to be able to do so. Thank you to anyone that can help me out here.
  24. Not sure if this is an issue with all amp sims but with every amp sim I tried I've had this issue where I can hear the clean DI signal from the guitar under distorted tones. It's not that noticeable but it can still be heard. I made sure everything is on 100% wet and that doesn't fix it. I have direct monitoring turned off on my audio interface (it's a Behringer UMC22) so it's not caused by that. sample with amp sim enabled: https://sndup.net/2ptk sample of the clean DI track: https://sndup.net/37pn In this sample I'm using helix native inside of reaper. could the cheap audio interface be the problem, or maybe it's something to do with my technique? Thanks!
