  1. Hi there, I've ordered a pair of StageSource L2m speakers. My initial intension was to connect them via L6 link to the Helix. However I still want to include my Boss RC-300 in the setup. So I think I have to ditch L6-link and go from the Helix with 2x 1/4" out into the RC-300 L/R instrument ins and from the 1/4" outs into the L2m 1/4" (or XLR) in, right? Or am I missing some cabling option here? Maybe connecting the RC-300 in a send/return loop of the Helix instead? Is anybody using a similar setup with Helix, RC-300 and StageSource FRFRs? Best regards, Ace
  2. I use my floor helix for my guitar, for second guitar in band and for vocal So, in my presets I have 3 paths, my go to main 1/4 outs, second guitar to send 1+2 and vocal to main xlr outs This allows to controll all volume from mixing desk Also I use headphones Yesterday I tried powercab in music shop via l6 linl And I discovered, that I need to change this destination of paths from XLR to All outputs or digital to hear any sound So, can I just get all paths sound, keeping it separated outputs, via l6 link?
  3. Regarding connecting a Line 6 StageSource speaker to a Powercab via L6 Link, the verbiage for the AES/EBU connection in the manual is as follows: "When an AES signal is detected by the first Powercab unit in the chain, the chain will split the signal's left channel going to the first Powercab unit or Line 6 StageSource® speaker and the right channel to the second." When using this configuration, the StageSource has to go before the Powercab. If the Powercab is before the StageSource, the StageSource will not play. We hope to address this in a future update.
  4. These speakers are often recommended on the Helix threads as the best speakers to use with the Helix. I live in Nashville and have no shortage of top notch music stores. NONE carry these speakers. I travel for a living in southern/mid-south states, so I searched Line 6's page for dealers all across the south. Guitar Center is obviously their main dealer, but there are a handful of others. There isn't a single Guitar Center or any other music store in the entire Southern US that has any of these units. Are they on their way out or are they just not popular enough for stores to carry inventory? I will not make an investment this big without being able to hear the speakers first. This will force me to get another brand's loud speakers since Line 6 can't be put to the test and compared to their competitors. I suppose with internet shopping closing more and more brick and mortar stores every day this is our future, but it sure is frustrating that a company like Line 6 can't keep inventory in stores of what one would assume is one of their best products.

  6. I had the L3M and L3T on my Thomann wishlist for a while. Now they're no longer available and the same goes for the L2M and L2T models. They're a few years old now, and with NAMM 2018 coming up is there any sign of a new series being released?
  7. What is the best way to set up a Variax, Helix, L2t, L2m, and microphone? I am connecting the Variax to Helix via VDI, Helix to L2t via L6 Link, L2t to L2m via L6 Link, Microphone to L2T on the 2nd channel - the problem I am having is the Microphone is only playing through the L2T not the L2M. If I unplug the Helix from the L2T the microphone will play through both speakers. How do I get everything to play through both speakers?
  8. My setup: JTV59 -> VDI -> HD500 -> l6link -> l2m I gig occasionally and my L2m is not used that often and when transported it is carefully carried and placed in the boot of a car and it has a protective padded cover. I have had the l2m for 2+ years now and not had any issues with it other than the well documented vibration problem when I first got it which was fixed under warranty. The problem: The last two times I have taken the L2m out to a gig and a rehearsal, and connected it up as shown above, when I first play a chord on my JTV59 using a patch on my HD500 for a clean guitar sound, I get the guitar sound plus a distorted fuzzy sound which sounds like the l2m speaker has blown or is about to die. I then switched the l2m off - and only the l2m, leaving the HD500 still plugged in and connected and the JTV59 connected to the HD500 - and when I switched the l2m back on it had cleared the problem and I was getting the expected clear sound from that patch. Also at this point I haven't proved beyond doubt that it is the L2m at fault but I do know that switching if off and on does resolve the problem so it does point towards the L2m being the issue. This has now happened twice. I will test it some more over the weekend but meanwhile I wanted to ask whether anyone else has had this problem or a similar problem? And whether or not they resolved it or if it got worse and had to be sent off for repair? Thanks
  9. Sorry if has been already answered (didn't find anything about), but over here in Europe looks like L2M speaker has now same price as L2T, which is almost 40% more than previous price. Is there any Line 6 official motivation behind that choice?
  10. took the plunge and bought a L2M today. Together with a good 110 ohm XLR cable. Connected the Helix via the Line 6 link and am very dissapointed. I must be doing something wrong. The digital clipping is back on the mandarin and brittish amps. All the others are sounding harsh and far away from all the sounds I am hearing from other Helix users. Bought the Glenn delaunne patches and only the 5150 patch is comming a bit nearer but is still souding like a cheap transistor amp My POD 500x and the DT25 amp sounding much better. This combination helix/l2m should at a minimum sound the same So, what am I doing wrong? (FW loaded again, stock patches via the headphone OK, NOK with the lm2) Someone having an idea? I am running out....
  11. I use a pair of L2M's with my HD500, and they are freakin great, but. . . I wish you put two pole mounts on the unit, one on the bottom and the top. I have a need to mount the units on a a pole, with a small set of lets above the speakers. Is there physical space available for me to put a new hole in the top of the unit and install a mount? or are there electronics in the way. An interior photo or draweing of the unit would be most appreciated so I can make an inteligent decision on how to best mod the speakers. Please advise. Gorden
  12. Has anyone directly compared using the HD500 or HD500X with the ALTO TS110A with the YAMAHA DBR10? And has anyone compared either of those speaker options with using the HD500 or HD500x with the Line 6 L2M? If so - what were your views - how did they compare? Are the more expensive Yamaha and Line 6 speakers worth the extra? Thanks.
  13. In the fall of 2013, my church purchased a setup including an MD20 mixer, 2xl2t, and 2xl2m speakers. We use it monthly for a worship service that involves "The Band," a group that plays some original music I've written, as well as a variety of jazz, blues, gospel, music theater, and whatever else fits with the liturgy that week. Because our sanctuary is a very traditional and simple one, the setup and teardown is only for the services when the band plays. Just recently, I've trained others to use the system, and it's being used for the youth band and other events where multiple wireless mics are needed. Here's what I've learned: - I can do a physical setup, including the mixer, 2 mains, 2 monitors, 4 wireless vocal mics, 2 piano mics, overhead and bass drum mics, in 45 minutes or less. - Recalling the scene makes setup much faster, so that tweaks I've made in previous months remain. - Using the iPad app to mix a recorded performance between services (to sound better in the second service) is awesome. - I still struggle with getting the perfect trim on my vocal mics, although that may be because of the particular mics I'm using, or because I don't always re-auto-trim them every time I use them, due to time before the 8:15 service. - The vocal trim issues aren't a problem for live performance, but only when I bring recordings into my DAW, where the vocal signal is too hot and clips. - The recording to SD card is awesome. - I've created a workflow that makes taking the discrete channel audio output from the SD card, into my DAW, where I've set up presets for each instrument, and then mixing and mastering, and syncing the final audio with 2 video sources in Final Cut Pro X an easy process. I can usually get a nice-sounding video out with a minimal amount of time and effort. - For my own use outside church, I am looking at alternatives to the MD20, such as the QSC offerings, but my biggest requirement is multichannel recording that gives me the power to mix after the performance. When the time comes to purchase, the price will be a big factor. If the MD20 continues to go down, I am likely to invest in one for myself. For reference, here is a playlist of videos I've made with the MD20 (sitting left of me) in church. The first 6 songs are originals, all recorded with the MD20. Many of the others are also from the board, but you can tell which ones are just recorded with my camera mic by their date and (lack of) sound quality. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlP8Beg-961DnyE5Sz-ocrM8egTskOMCO
  14. My setup: JTV59 > VDI > HD500 > L6 Link > L2m JTV fw v2.21 HD500 fw v2.62 I just upgraded my HD500 to v2.62 and wanted to try out the Global EQ, so I needed to swap from using L6 Link to my L2m to using the 1/4" out with the switch next to the expression pedal set to Line. I tested that the Global EQ was having an effect and then disconnected the 1/4" and reconnected the L6 Link. I immediately noticed way more volume from the same patch. So to be certain I double checked and tried both connections again one after the other, and found that the 1/4" line out is much quieter than the L6 link connection. I have mainly used L6 Link and the only times I have used the 1/4" line out before were stand alone without using L6 Link so I never made a direct comparison before. I thought that L6 Link and 1/4" out at line level would produce a similar level signal but maybe I am wrong - maybe they are designed to be different levels. Questions: Is this something that has been introduced with v2.62 or has L6 Link always been way louder than the 1/4" line out level? Does anyone know what the output level spec's are supposed to be with L6 Link and 1/4" line level? Has anyone lese noticed this? Or is it just me and my HD500 at v2.62 or does it do the same thing with earlier fw levels? Thanks in advance for your input. .
  15. .......cause I'm the newest noob in this community. My apologies to everyone for potentially asking a stupid question with a simple answer without first looking through every manual and old post first (I'm a little impatient). After 25 years of NOT playing music, I bit the bullet and acquired some gear and am now stumbling my way though all of this tech. I've picked up an HD500x and an L2M and some recording software. By just following directions, I've been able to configure my set up just fine....but....I can't seem to quickly find the info I need to finish. The problem....using the HD500x as the interface, I can't get the software tracks to play through my L2M. I can hear it in my headphones along with guitar, but only guitar is coming through the powered speaker. So I'm assuming there is an output setting somewhere within the 500x that will send the Cubase output to the speaker and not just the headphones. Thanks for your help.
  16. I have finally come tweaked an HD500 patch for JTV model Acoustic-5 through my L2m that I am happy with for live band use. It was set up and saved with HD500 connected to my L2m in ACOUSTIC GUITAR mode via L6 link. FS4 is set to toggle on/off tube compressor for solo boost if needed. It reduces the boomy resonance with the L2m when playing an acoustic model at volume and also reduces the harsh high-mid treble allowing the more subtle acoustic qualities to come through at volume in a live band setting. I have added it to CUSTOMTONE so please feel free to download it and try it out. http://line6.com/customtone/profile/edstar1960 Background info: I have a JTV59 with fw 2.1 and it is strung with Fender 150R's - and they are 10's. I have made some slight global string adjustments and model string level adjustments under Workbench HD. I hope that this patch will be useful - even if it needs to be tweaked some more for your own setup.
  17. I just recently purchased a L2M and I planned on using the L2M for a guitar amp for gigs connected to my pod x3 pro, I originally believed that there would be some type of special connection between the two because of the L6 thing but maybe not. What is the best way to set this L6M up with the Pod X3 Pro? Also same question if I run through my sonic port with iPad out to these L2m
  18. Howdy folks! I have a Line 6 StageSource L2M powered speaker in excellent condition listed for sale on eBay. The auction includes the Line 6 L2TM rolling speaker bag also in excellent condition! I’ve used it a handful of times with my Pod HD500x on the gig and they sound great together! I’ve switched back and forth between using a power amp/ guitar cabinet and the L2M and have decided the guitar cab setup just works better for me. Here is the link to the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201273066594?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Attn forum moderators: I looked around to see if there were rules and regs regarding posting items for sale and couldn't find any info so if this isn't appropriate please let me know and I will gladly delete the topic. Thanks!
  19. Sob stories are coming. Trying to use my dream rig (jtv59, hd500x, and l2m–connected via l6 and variax cables) in garageband on my new macbook and it refuses to work. Everything is updated on the hd500x and jtv59. But when I hit record it says "No input source selected," though it is all set as it should be in preferences, the correct track is selected, etc. I bought the dream rig right around the time my first semester of school started because I love having gear that I can't use for months (not), and I finally started trying to mess with it recording in garageband–which I have used quite a bit before–and I have tried everything I can think of. So...here I am. Stumped. Pulling my hair out. Can someone please help? –C
  20. Hello all, I recently bought the StageSource L2m, and loving all the neat things I can do with it through my Pod HD500X. However, I came across a problem the other day that I have been trying to fix and researching relentlessly. When I connect my iPod via CD/MP3 input > POD > L2m via L6 Link, I get no signal coming from my L2m (just guitar signal when plugged in). I've updated my POD, rummaged through settings, tried turning the L2m from Mono to Stereo, different aux cables, I also tried plugging in my iPod through the aux 1/4 jack on the POD and nothing. The only thing that worked is when I plugged my POD via regular line in. The whole reason I really wanted the StageSource was to be able to utilise the L6 Link capabilities with my POD and it is a bit frustrating that I am unable to with a simple connected. Am I doing anything wrong? Is there a reason there is no signal? Also I know I could connect my iPod directly into the L2m via L/R input but I've done everything through my POD since day one. Any suggestions? Thanks :)
  21. I tried to do this last night and it sounded really bad. I switched the XLR to the balanced mono on the Pro and the input on the L2M and it sounded a little better. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to turn off the cab sims? Do I put the DSP on the L2M to Line or Electric Guitar? Help!!!!
  22. OK, so I've put aside my Vetta II and un-packed my new Pro X and L2m speaker. I hook them up with L6 link and put the L2m into 'Electric guitar' mode (funny, I thought the system was supposed to do that automatically). The trouble is, the Master Volume control on the Pro X does not affect the volume of what comes out of the L2m so the only way to adjust the volume is to reach round the back of the L2m and tweek the control there which is not so easy when it's in wedge config. I've hunted for a setup entry to change this behavior but I can't find anything. Have I missed it?
  23. Français Deutsch To switch Feedback suppression modes: Press and hold the FBS button and you will see the colors cycle through, green to yellow to red and back to green. Release the FBS button when you are on the desired setting. RED is for speech. An example is an individual doing a Power Point presentation. This could apply to a couple of people speaking at the same time, but the key is that human speech and human speech ONLY, is coming through the system. YELLOW is for vocal singing. An example would be acapella singing. This could be a group or a solo singer/performer, but it is meant for human singing voice only, with no other instrumentation. You may be able to use this for a singer/songwriter solo guitar and vocal. Yellow can work in this case because guitar and voice are in very similar frequency ranges, but, depending on the material, GREEN may be a better option in that case. GREEN is intended for universal application and should be used as a default feedback suppression setting. Only switch to the YELLOW or RED setting when the GREEN setting is not properly addressing your feedback concerns, or where feedback reduction is more important than audio quality. Using more aggressive feedback suppression settings may cause sonic artifacts in some cases. If you are experiencing undesirable artifacts when using Feedback Suppression: If you are experiencing undesirable artifacts when using Feedback Suppression it may be that a less aggressive setting should be used. Results are typically most pleasing when using the least aggressive setting that is appropriate for the given situation. It is good practice to start with the GREEN mode and only to move on to YELLOW and then RED if feedback is not being properly addressed. Green is for good and green is for go. In the majority of cases, customers should use green and they will be good to go.
