I operate my HX One stereo. However, when I switch to true bypass, a signal only comes out on one side. On DSP bypass it's completely normal on stereo. What did I set wrong? Or does stereo not work on true bypass? Thanks!

Hi Folks, I got my HX One today and hooked it up for a first test in exactly that way: Synth -> HX One -> Mixer Synth is connected in stereo, inputs and outputs on the HX One are set to line level, I/O config to stereo. When playing a mono sound on the synth thru the HX the left channel of the try signal coming to the mixer is about 6dB quieter than the right channel. This is also the case when bypassing the effect with bypass type ‘DSP’. The full wet signal seems to be ok. When connecting the synth directly to the mixer or switch to bypass with type set to ‘true’, both channels have the same level in the mixer. Maybe I did something wrong with the setup, but it seems to be ok for me. Can someone please check that on your HX One, just to be save that mine isn’t broken somehow. After waiting a VERY long time we finally have an update to Pod Go, which is extremely welcome! However, the one key feature I was really hoping for (and with all the hints around a re-written cab engine, we had good reason for hope) is still missing - no stereo cab block! This means that the Pod Go can't be used for stereo effects into the PA if you still want to hear those effects on-stage - the pre-cab tap point for on-stage monitor would be really useful, but all stereo capable effects have to be placed AFTER the cab block, so you can't hear them on stage!! - this is a huge limitation of the Pod Go and should have been fixed in 2.0, with the re-written cab engine - is there any hope at all that this feature will come soon in an update?

Hi, I'm trying to create a couple of stereo presets for my new HX Stomp XL but find it rather hard to get something together without reaching the DSP limit. My absolute minimum starting point for creating the preset is 2 pre-amps one for the left and one for the right channel to keep it stereo plus one dual cab sim. This already occupies 3 blocks and there is just a tiny little bit of DSP power left. This is just the basics no fancy FX yet. So here are two feature request I would really need in order to create decent stereo presets without buying a bigger unit. And I guess the concept of the Helix is to be able to do stereo, right? 1. Wouldn't it be possible to let the user decide to increase the buffer size to get more DSP power trading-off for some more latency? 2. Like the dual cab, a dual pre-amp would waste less space in the chain. Thanks Timo

I have always used my HD500X 1/4 inch mono output to go to an amp, or to a mixer using a direct box. Recently, I changed my connections to using the XLR outputs to a mixer and cannot get any volume from the outputs. I am not new to the sound system setup and understand the ins and outs of low impedance balanced connections. Even with my mixer input gain maxed, the volume is barely hearable. What am I missing? I just realized tonight, and cannot check now, but I have only tried patches that I made, not any of the factory patches.

Hello, I’ve had my Helix LT for about 2 years now and essentially only utilize it as a pedal board which goes into an actual amp. I don’t utilize the amp sims, or any of the real epic settings the Helix has. I have several questions I need help with and at one point I remember I had someone give me a demo walkthrough of what the helix can do through a zoom call which came through line 6 support, I don’t remember how I got connected to that service but if anyone knows please post the number below. problem 1.) my distortions all sound fuzzy and don’t have proper articulation to them. I had a friend bring over his quad Cortex and we compared our distortions and by god was his distortion just infinitely better. The clarity in his ton was astonishing. My distortion just sounded like a fuzzy washed out digital mess while his sounded exactly like a pristine abasi tone. The distortion I use is the compulsive drive for heavier things and the teemah for lighter crunch playing. If anyone has suggestions for new patches or settings I should be looking at in order to get that epic pristine abasi or Henson distorted tone please let me know! problem 2.) my band recently got a digital mixer and in ears and I want to use stereo to fully capture the capabilities with all of this. I have no idea how to do that, what the xlr inouts/outputs do, if I can use the 1/4 inch out for mono to a amp on stage that FoH then mics for live shows and experience no problems since everything is stereo. I’m clueless. Any help on getting things dialed in for a in ear monitoring rig while also being flexible to play out of an amp for live gigs would be amazing. Problem 3.) my effects all have a wild variation in volume no matter what I do. Some patches are just quiet compared to others even if I crank the volume on that patch. I’m noticing a tone quality loss on just about everything too. problem 4.) amp sims, IR, cabs, etc…. No clue where to start. Need some help on getting up and running. as you can see there are several issues I’d love some help with. I’m happy to pay someone to spend a few hours working through my settings in order to get it exactly how I want it. Perhaps a zoom session where we map everything out and try to get it all setup would be best. anything helps here!

Hey all - How do I wire up a Helix, a Mesa Mark VII and a Powercab 112+ to create a stereo rig, while properly using the effects loops? Is it actually possible, or do I need to get a cheapie amp with an effects loop to replace the Powercab? Clearly neither the 4 or 7 cable methods work; is this maybe a 5 or 6 cable setup? I'm a little stumped. Mods: cross posted to Helix. If one or the other is inappropriate, please delete at your discretion. -
I have had a Helix for about six months and I love it, although it has left me feeling like a total Luddite, having been a “Guitar/1 amp/a few stomp boxes” kind of guy all my life. I have primarily been using headphones with the helix up to now. However, on the rare occasion that I might find myself in the house without my wife and kids, I would like to have access to some kind of speaker set up that takes advantage of the Helix’s stereo capabilities. So far, whenever I have used any kind of speaker with a helix I have just run a 1/4 cable out of the left/mono output from the helix into the ‘instrument in’ input of my Yamaha THR 10 (where I’ve been using the Flat channel. I read somewhere that the THR10 is itself a stereo output if the aux input is used. Does anyone know - if I run a cable out of the Headphones output of the helix into the THR10 aux, would this give the Helix stereo output? I’d have to assume some kind of deterioration in quality. Another option I’m looking at is having: one 1/4 cable going out of the left output on helix into the ‘instrument in’ input of the THR10 (using flat channel), and; One 1/4 cable out of the right output from the helix into another speaker I’m guessing this would give the more desirable results? If so, does anyone have any recommendations for this second speaker? In either case please pick holes in the two ideas listed above. I don’t know what I’m talking about. This is all strictly for home use and so I’m not looking for earth shattering volume.

Sorry if this is a basic ask. I run a few pedals in the STEREO loop of my HX Stomp using mono cables. Most of the pedals are mono but the final pedal before returning to the Stomp is a STEREO Boss looper. If I switch to stereo cabling would I hear an improvement? (Looper is 32-Bit with nice drums hence not using the internal looper). Also, what would happen to the signal when it passes through those MONO pedals (not even sure how you run stereo cables into mono pedals). The Stomp runs balanced outs into a pair of Yamaha active monitors.

I have some stereo presets I purchased that I absolutely love. They were before 3.5. The only problem is the limited DSP because the 2 amp/cab setup takes up so much. Any tips for adjusting these with the 3.5 so I can add more pedals? Does a patch/preset like that automatically get more DSP now? I'm not the most technically sound guy with the Helix but am hoping to get better. Any tips or answers appreciated!

Hello, In a stereo setup, I need to use mono effects on one side only. Let's say this last position reverb : The only option I found is this one, but I have to use one normal output and one send output, that seems strange to me, with opposite pan. Nevertheless, the stereo effects works normally and this last reverb is only on one amp. Is there a way to modify the outputs to set two "Main L/R" and then balanced them in their settings ? Thanks a lot.

On the Helix all of the stereo delays (except the ping pong) have a true stereo path. The left and right sides are fully separate signal paths. The delay time of the left side of the signal is set by the delay time knob/parameter. The delay time of the right side is set by the scale parameter as a percentage of the left delay time. When scale is at 100%, the right side delay time matches the left side. Then, as the scale parameter is reduced, the right side delay time gets shorter on a percentage basis. For instance, let's say the delay time is set at 1 second. If the scale parameter is at 75%, then the right side delay time will be 750 ms (milliseconds). If the scale is at 50%, the right side will be 500 ms, and so on. The reason this is done is because these stereo delays are often used for rhythmic effect. Having the scale parameter set the right side as a percentage of the left side allows for the delay timing between the right and left sides to stay proportional when the main delay time is changed.

Hi all, I’m sure there’s probably something similar been covered here before, but I can’t find anything when I’ve tried to search. I’m currently running my pedalboard into my HX Stomp, which then does a stereo split to my Bad Cat and SD170. I’m using an amp block on the path that goes to my SD170, but I’ve recently received a Kingsley Constable that I want to use instead of the amp block. I’m using the Mono input on the Stomp, and then using the Mono output to the SD170, and the Aux send output into my Bad Cat. Is there any way that I can reconfigure things to allow me to run the Constable into the Stomp then out to the SD170, without also going out to the Bad Cat? Ideally, I want to have a reverb and delay AFTER the Constable which is why I can’t just run the HX Stomp > Constable I’m totally game for adding extra switchers or ABY box etc if need be Thanks in advance Keir

Hello to all, I'm running my stomp into my SS amp's return mono ( it's a 2X12 8240 stereo Marshall). the problem is that only one speaker works. The patch is one mono amp ( no cab). so I tried to go in the FX stereo (LEFT AND RIGHT) return of the amp. still, only one speaker works. The patch I'm using is mono. ---------------------- If I go with the guitar to amp's input, both speakers work ---------------------- what am I doing wrong? Is the problem coming from the stomp or patch? or is it because of my SS amp? TNX

Hi there, Im new on this Forum! I hope im acting by the Rules and Regulations here. Also be patient with me and my mistakes, as english is not my native tongue. I came here to ask some Questions before purchasing a Pod Go from Thomann. Im a pretty new Guitar Player living in Vienna City. As i want to practice without Noise i would mostly use the Pod Go with Headphones. Sometimes i would like to turn my Stereo on aswell and plug the Pod into that. I know it may not be the best sounding solution but i will only use it rarely with the Home Stereo, as i will have to be mostly silent. Equipment i already have: Sony MDR 1A TFZ King Pro FIIO F9 pro Phillips A5 Pro FIIO X5 3 Dap FIIO A5 Amp Denon X2500H Teufel Ultima 40 MK3 Homebuilt Sub (Soon if it makes sense to build one for Guitar Use) I want to have a good Sound with both. Do you Guys think it will be possible both with the Stereo and Headphones i have? Im not concerned to model a real amp 100% but i just want a good sound so i can practice. With Headphones i am really not sure if i would need something diffrent or to upgrade, as i heard not everything works good with the Pod Go. What works good for you and do you think the low resistance of my Headphones will work? Also i was wondering how to Wire the Pod Go so its connected correctly to Headphones and Stereo. What shall i do so it sounds good? Do i need more Equipment like Mixers or DI Boxes? Sorry this is new Terrain for me so i have no clue what to look for, which Adapters etc. Thanks for the Help! I am trying to record using some of the awesome Helix panning effects in Garageband.I am using Helix as the recording interface but Garageband defaults to mono. Does anyone know to get Garageband to record stereo direct from Helix? Thank you,

Hey y’all! First post here. I’m gonna try to explain this as clearly as possible, but it’s kind of confusing, so bear with me and let me know if you can help. I’m running my pedalboard into the front of the HX Stomp (no FX loops or effects after the Stomp). The last pedals in my chain are a mono input into my Timeline > L/R out into my Big Sky > L/R out to the L/R ins of the HX Stomp, which is then running L/R out to a stereo DI into FOH. Easy peasy. Both channels are working and receiving signal at the board. I’m trying to run the Essex AC30 and the Matchless Jump in true stereo. I split the AC30 and its IR on path A, and the Matchless and its IR on path B. I panned path A hard L and path B hard R on both the split and the merge. After the merge, I then put a stereo EQ and a stereo compressor at modest settings before hitting the Out. SO, the problem I’m having is that one of the channels is receiving the amp, IR, EQ and compressor with no issues. The OTHER channel however is only receiving my Big Sky’s Reverb (and maybe the delay) from my board. It’s like it’s only receiving the wet effects, but no dry signal. It’s so weird and I’ve been wracking my brain like CRAZY to try to figure out what the heck I’m doing wrong. SO...that’s my long-winded explanation. Any ideas?

Hi there, My fitst appearence here, so be kind to me:) Since a few weeks u have an HX Stomp on my pedalboard, fantastic machine! But since 2 weeks it doesn’t send out a stereo signal anymore. I use my pedalboard/HX Stomp at our local church, since the first moment i had it, i played stereo, by the usual way to put 2 jacks on the left+right output of the stomp. Nothing special so far. But since 2 weeks the sound guys @ the FOH (front of house) tell me that they don’t recieve a signal from the right output. Tried multiple jacks, switched between the left and right output, tried different DI’s, but no signal... I checked/compared some base settings with the HX Stomp of a friend, and those were no different. I use my gear very carefully, so i can truly say that i didn’t broke anything... it is only a few weeks old, it’s the limited white version, so i juist can’t believe it broke by itself... is there something in the settings that i forgot, or something else i didn’t think of? Hopefully there are some folks that can help me or send me in the right direction to solve this problem! thnx. Pieter

Hi everyoine. So I've been experimenting a bit with my equipment recently and I've found one thing that concearns me a bit. Bit over what I'm working here with: 1. HX Effects 2. Hughes Kettner 40W amp 3. Torpedo studio What I'm trying to achieve is a split signal from HX Effects to my torpedo (different effects on different lines and then different cab simulations on Torpedo), while at the same moment using FX Loop of my amplifier. What I've done is: So basically signal goes like this: Guitar -> HX input -> Send2 to amp -> Return2 from send of amp -> HX output to return of amp -> amp to torpedo cab input -> HX Send1 to Torpedo line input Because Torpedo is setup to take Amp + Line L inputs, HX outputs are panned: - Main L/R is panned 100% right - Send 1/2 is panned 100% left + I used Send1 block on path B to force signal to this output but I don't know if it does anything... And here's what's bothering me: if you can only use Send1/2 as output of the second path, is the Send2 signal to amp doubled (FX loop + output of Path B)? Funny thing in that situation is that even when my amp is in standby mode I can still hear guitar on left channel... Can anyone tell me if this setup is correct or am I doind something wrong here and can possibly damage my equipment... Thanks Art

I am new to helix, I have a guitar with the ability to spilt my pickups. I have sucessfully routed my front pickup to return 1 and my bridge pickup to return 2.by programing the inputs accordingly I have built sounds that mix things like chiming delays on the front with distorted flanged sounds off the bridge. (thing I used to dream of). Is it possible to use the expression pedal (I tried without sucess using the pan block) to control how much of one channel is mixed with the other. I have been able to use the volume pedal to control one channel but I would like to mix .increase one and decrease the other while maintaing the same volume live. I am going out of the helix mono. I am a newbee to helix and any suggestions are welcome.

As the title says, this M5 has the Right (mono) channel which is overly loud and has a lot of bad gain. Almost as if some distortion effect is always on. Interestingly, if I plug inputs and outputs into both channels, then it quiets down and behave as I expect. I've tried a factory reset with no change. I'm handy with electronics, but before I dig out my multimeter and solding iron, I thought I'd ask. Is there some setting that is causing this (that sticks even with a factory reset)? -
Hello, can anyone help me with the best possible STEREO connection for using my Line 6 Helix and my Roland JC-120 (and / or my JC-40) so I can take advantage from the natural Stereo capability of these amps? If you can tell me how am I suppose to connect them (How many cables method) and give me or sell me a stereo Patch so I can tweak it and use it as my template patch. Thanks a lot.

Hey guys sorry I know this is a basic question but I can’t seem to find an answer in the manual, basically I have always played in mono and I’m now trying to get my head around stereo my signal chain is as follows Guitar > stomp > stomp send which goes > overdrive mono> delay stereo output > reverb stereo output > stereo return of stomp then I’m using just one amp and an IR 1)basically if I plug into a pa from the left and right output from the stomp after this even though I am only using one amp and IR will it retain the stereo spread of the delay and reverb? Or will it all be summed to mono 2) also if I use the amp model from the stomp as one output, then instead of returning one of my reverbs outputs into the stomp send I go directly into another actual amp, so that the stomp amp and ir don’t affect that amp so left output is stomp right output is amp will this create a stereo spread? Good morning everyone. I am new to IR's and downloaded the G12 Celestion pack last night. Everything seems fairly straight forward. However I am running stereo out of the HX stomp. So here is my question.... When I place the IR block at the end of my block chain what do I need to do to specify stereo out of the IR? Or do I need to run 2 IR blocks in parallel and pan then right and left?
