  1. Hi, I have had a DT 25 for about 18 months after many years of live Flextone 2 and Flextone 3 plus Floorboard "enjoyment". I changed to the DT25 not just because of the way it sounds but also for the simplicity to get away from the complexity and constant tweaking habit that I acquired over the years. I have spent the last 18 months in tone heaven with my guitar plugged straight into the DT25. Plug in and play, very simple and rewarding. For this reason I didn't get and don't want to get a Pod HD. I do access the other amp models using DT Customizer occasionally but generally prefer to play rather than tweak these days! However I thought I would try using a couple of pedals to add to the range of sounds I can get on the fly without having to bother with loads of pre-sets. So I bought a BOSS OS2 (Overdrive Distortion) and a TC Electronics Flashback (Delay). I have put the Flashback in the effects loop and I'm very happy with the tone (pretty much neutral) and range of delays it can produce. A brilliant piece of kit. I'm having a bit more trouble with the overdrive/distortion and this is where I would like some opinions. It is hard to describe the results, but on clean channels it sounds quite thin and harsh and on the distorted models it doesn't seem to do much apart from add some faint overtones/harmonics. I have tried loads of different settings to dial this out and I realise that tone is highly subjective. This could be just the way these type of effects sound (haven’t needed one before) and I'm sure the pedal itself is very good, for what it offers so this is not about the OS2, my question are: Is it worth using an overdrive/distortion pedal at all with the DT amps since it’s possible to get some great overdriven/distorted tones from the built in models? Do overdrive/distortion pedals work OK with digitally modelled pre-amps? Has anyone on the forum found an Overdrive/Distortion solution that they use effectively with the DT Amps? If so what do you use? I realise the an overdrive/distortion pedal should go in front of the amp, but has anyone tried one in the loop and if so what are the advantages/disadvantages? Thanks in advance, all advice gratefully received. Oscar
  2. Hi all, I hope to find an answer to a question I have for a long time now. So, I am not willing to give up on my stomp-boxes and yet, at times I am forced to practice at night and yes this means a tube amp is too loud and I need headphones. Someone told me i could get a fair quality by using an external device such as the TonePort UX1 ore focusrite scralett solo and the bigger versions. Please did anyone try the following signal path: Guitar -> Pedals (overdrive, distortion, modulation , delay etc ... from various producers) -> LINE 6 TONEPORT UX1 (without pc software editing tops cab simulation) -> headphones out? IS THIS POSSIBLE? WHAT IS THE SOUND QUALITY? CAN I RECORD LIKE THAT? So...thanks in advance. Dan
  3. Hi guys. I'm looking at purchasing the Line6 POD HD500x. I want to combine this multi fx unit with a few analog pedals I have and possibly also my amp distortion (marshall jcm 900). I want to keep all my nice analog overdrive and distortion sounds that I use live already but I want to then add some sweet line6 delays, reverbs etc on top of this. Can I do this with the Line6 POD HD500x and will it affect my nice analog core sound that I've already got going? Cheers Jack
  4. Hi Eveyone. i am sorry I am a beginner here and I had a couple of questions I was hoping some more experienced players would be willing to help me with. I just bought a POD HD500x and I bought 2 Stomp Pedals - a T.C. Electronic "The Dreamscape" Pedal (which is a chorus/flanger pedal) and a Wampler TrippleWreck Distortion Pedal. I have never worked with stompboxes with a POd before so my question is, should I use the effects loop or as far as the distortion goes, should I plug my guitar straight into the TrippleWreck then into the input of the POD HD500x and perhaps put "THe Dreamscape pedal in the effects loop. Or should I set it up with the guitar straight into the TripleWreck Distortion Pedal, then to The Dreamscape Pedal, then to the input of the HD500x. Or should I use the Effects Loop? And if I use the Effects loop, hopw should I set that up? (Again I am sorry I am a beginner). So I am looking for more experienced guitar/effects people who can tell me the proper way I should set this up. So basically, here are the signal chains that I am not sure to use: Should I use: A) Guitar ->TripleWreck Distortion Pedal -> HD500x input - > The Dreamscape in the effects loop B) Guitar -> Triplewreck Distortion Pedal -> The Dreamscape Pedal -> HD500x input C) Guitar -> HD500x -> Tripplewreck DIstortion Pedal -> The Dreamscape Pedal -> Effects loop Agaijn I sincerly apologize that this is such a beginner question, but I am new at this and was hoping some more experienced experts could help me out and tell me what setup is the proper way to set this up. Thank you very much for any and all help that anyone can provide, I sincerly appreciate it!
