  1. Hi folks, hoping someone can help. I don't like using the onboard pedal for Wah and volume because you have to turn the volume up to full before you can press the tow switch to activate the Wah (so no funky rhythm playing). So I'm using an external volume (expression) pedal on exp 2. This works great as the external pedal as a minimum volume so I can set rhythm and lead levels. However, moving the onboard pedal doesn't do anything until I activate the tow switch and the Wah is activated: but.... As soon as I activate the Wah the setting for the external pedal is bypassed and the volume jumps to full. So basically I have the same issue that I can't play funky rhythm with the Wah on as the volume goes to full. Any idea how I can stop that happening?
  2. I'm quite new to using switchers So at the moment, I've got a HX Stomp XL, a wah pedal and the Boss ES-5. I want to use the ES-5 to switch pedals on and off in the stomp as well as the external wah pedal and also change patches. Could someone explain to me how I could do this? I've connected the wah into one loop of the ES 5 and connected the HX Stomp with MIDI cables to the ES 5 - not sure if this is correct?
  3. I've done a fair bit of research about converting an old Wah to an expression pedal, including this great post: I'm hoping to do this for my HX Stomp, but just want to make sure I have a viable plan. I'm hoping to convert my Dunlop Crybaby to act in the same way as the new Mission Helix SP1-L6H REVISION B, which only requires a single TRS cable, rather than the Y-Cable splitter which the Revision A used. I believe I have all the parts I'll need (Dunlop 10K Wah Pot, 3PDT Switch, 10K Resistor, 1/4" STEREO jack), I'm just wondering if anyone has the know-how for how exactly I would wire it all up to make the HX Stomp happy. I believe the SP1-L6H REV. B uses a circuit board, and although I've etched a circuit board or two in the past, I'd prefer to keep this project as simple as possible without requiring a circuit board. I assume the setup would be pretty close to what Verne-Bunsen outlines for the Helix, but I don't quite understand how to wire the single TRS jack instead of the two TS jacks.
  4. Hi! I'm about to purchase HX Effects for my new rig and would like to use external pedal for wah wah and volume but I would like to have it in one pedal just like on Helix LT or Floor (POD GO also I guess). Do you know of any cheaper equivalent for the Mission Engineering SP1-L6H? I know that the pedal has to have a toe switch and a WS out (whatever that is... ;) ) Thanks in advance!
  5. Does anyone know what sort of tweaking i would need to do and what inductor to use in order to get the chrome custom sound in my v845? i also have a cry baby standard i could use for some part swapping if needed. thanks in advance just in case i miss you.
  6. New Pod Go, I have connected to the Pod GoApp. I can click the toe button but moving the Wah/Volume pedal changes nothing. I can see the Wah Volume Exp1 Exp 2 light up with the toe click but the actual pedalmovement does nothing what am I missing?
  7. I have several presents where I want the volume pedal and the wah. When I add these blocks to the path it automatically assigns the volume to exp2 and Wah to exp1. To change between you use the toe switch on the pedal. This is all good except as it's in volume mode as default I have to press the pedal all the way forward to activate the hidden toe pedal to get to the wah. The problem is now I'm at 100% volume as I've had to push the volume pedal all the way forward to get to the tow switch ie all my spare headroom, and it's too loud. Any suggestions please. Thanks
  8. Hey people, got a problem with setting up the wah pedal on my Helix. My target is to set it up like Jonny in this video: Line 6 Helix Wah settings TIPS and TRICKS. - YouTube So for everybody who doesn't want to watch the video: I want to work like my old Bad Horsie 2. Selecting my wah pedal and chosing the Expression Pedal as the bypass switch on 0% (have tried with a little more % but it doesn't work either). Min Position on about 15%. With that setup it should automatically be activatet when I use the pedal and when it comes down to zero again or below the certain value that I choose for the position parameter it should be off. And here's the problem when I set it up like that: The wah is off in the beginning. When I use the expression pedal nothing happens. When I reach my bypass value the wah is turned on. Then I can use it until I hit the bypass value again. Then to activate it again I have to use the pedal and come down to the bypass value and so on and on. Sometimes when I set my wah pedal up again the exact same way it works as it should until I change something. But most of the time it only works as discribed above. Has anybody any tipps for me?
  9. Please help, I have a Helix LT and bent the built-in pedal. I purchased the Mission Engineering EP1-L6 and saw on another post that instructs to plug into the EXP1 port. I don't have a EXP1 port! When I plug in and use the pedal, its only functioning as a volume pedal. I went into HX Edit and right clicked the "position" where I can select EXP Pedal 1 and EXP Pedal 2. Pedal 2 shows Volume, I can see EXP Pedal 1 shows (Pitch wham: Position) EXP Pedal 2 now shows (Multiple 2) but when I adjust the pedal it's still a volume pedal. I am able to get Wah with EXP Pedal 2, but it seems to be a combo of Volume and Wah. Heel position is zero volume The Volume isn't selected. Screen shot attached. I don't see an easy way to make the pedal operate as the pedal 2 Wah. Please help! Thanks in advance. Ron
  10. Hello, I have a question that will help me decide if I should purchase the switchable Mission L6 for my Helix Floor: Can additional patches be assigned to toggle ON the L6 when wah is switched OFF. For example, when wah is turned off can the L6 remain active to control other parameters, gain level, delay level, etc... Thanks!
  11. I just got my Helix floor and in the process of learning, I appreciate this community very much. I used to have Rocktron long time ago for mostly live gigs. Nowadays I'm more into home recording. Question: I've got a DIMEBAG CRY BABY. Can I utilize it via send/return from my Helix? Is this a good idea? If I can utilize it via send/return, shall I alway keep the CryBaby "on", and activate it via Helix only? Dimebag has an additional, switchable input/output, are there any clever practives that I can utilize with my helix? Bonus off-topic questio: I've got a 9V battery inside. What'd happen if I plug a 9V power adaptor while the battery is still in? From where the wah pedal will draw it's power? Any harms?
  12. I am running the most recent firmware on my HX Effects. For an expression pedal, I am using a Thru-Tone EXT-Ult, built into an Ernie Ball volume pedal with a kick switch on the side. The wah is turned on by using the kick switch on the side, and then controlled with the treadle itself. So the switch is just an on/off switch connected to the HXFX exp pedal 2 jack with a small patch cable. Recently, on about 20 different occasions (during performances and practice at home), I was nowhere near my pedalboard and the wah just switched on. To turn it off, I have to engage the switch and then disengage it. Trying the patch at home, I was looking at the computer editor and watched the wah engage by itself. I've swapped out patch cables. And before the most recent firmware, this has always worked for over a year and 100s of performances. What could be causing the wah to switch on? I didn't change anything in the patch in the new firmware- it is the same one I always use. Obviously the HXFX thinks the on/off for the wah was engaged, but it most certainly wasn't as the pedalboard was across the stage at the time. I spent the last few shows glued to my board, ready to turn off the wah (good thing, too, as it happened a few times). When I am not using the wah, I use the exp pedal for delay time and feedback, otherwise I'd just program the wah to come on when I reach 5% or something. I might just ditch the wah in my presets if it isn't something I can fix. I can't say for certain it is the firmware, but that is when all of this started happening. Anything else I can try? Priest? Holy water?
  13. Guys, I am a bit lost as a HX newbie :) I have connected my HX Stomp with a DVP4 pedal through a TS cable. When using a random Wah sound the position moves correctly from from 0 - 100 and vice versa. However, my volume is doing the same trick at the same time, which is not very useful.... How can I just block any volume level changes while using my pedal for Wah sounds?
  14. Hi, I am having issues connecting my Dunlop Cry Baby Wah to my HX Stomp. I have seen that this can be done, but I might be missing something. When I connect the Cry Baby directly to the Stomp, and try to assign the Wah block to the expression/FS, it doesn’t seem to work. Anyone know if this is something that can be done? I am new to connecting additional pedals to my Stomp, so I might be missing something. Thank you!
  15. Hi everyone, I'm basically a newbie to the digital modeler world and I'm trying to use wah pedal for funk stuff eith full clean tone. I find the wah a bit gainy, i tried to set a lot of parameters but every models of it still add a bit of gain on the top end, which for clean tone I don't really like it. What am I doing wrong? Tips and tricks?
  16. I want the expression pedal to control the position parameter of a wah block going from 0-100% using the full range of the pedal. Instead of this the range is limited. I am using a Boss EV-30 which I connected by a stereo cable. I played with the minimum knob of the pedal and the settings of the HXstomp. Any idea?
  17. There is no jack on the V20 for a footboard. Are there any devices or is there any option to use the Micro USB to attach any footboards? Looking to add a Wah or ability to change/ cycle through sounds.
  18. Hi, My POD HD500 is great! The sound is good, and everything seems to be working well, except for the expression pedal. It's really not TOO big of a problem, more of a nuisance. When the pedal (whether a whammy, or wah, or whatever) is up it's fine, but when I push the top down to get a full whammy effect, it wont stay at the +24.0 unless I push down. For instance if I lift my foot off the pedal and leave it pressed down, the octave will drop to like +23.4 or +23.5. So the only way I can get the +24.0 octave sound is if I leave my foot pressed down on the pedal. You don't really notice it with the wah, but with the whammy it sounds pretty bad. Is there anyway to fix this problem? Thank you, Marty
  19. [Hi! Long-time player - first-time poster] I'm using my HD500x in Pedalboard mode with different effects assigned to each of the 8 foot switches. I would like to assign WAH and VOLUME to the Expression pedals, EXP 1 and EXP 2, but cannot figure out how to do that. I can take one of the FS and change it to WAH and then change the assignment to EXP 1, but then I lose the effect I had on that FS. I feel like this should be easy to do, but I just can't figure it out for some reason. What am I missing here? Thanks for your help.

    Wah setting issue

Hi All, I'm having an issue with assigning the wah on my LT using HX edit, and would greatly appreciate some help. IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS! I have built a generic 'go-to' preset, using 4 snapshots and 4 stomps. Much like the 4 stomps, I would like to the wah to only be on EXP1, and be able to switch it independently of the 4 snapshots. If I select a preset snapshot, it defaults to EXP2, when I press the toe switch, it turns to EXP1 and the wah works, just as it should. If I push the toe switch again it turns the wah off and all is good. HOWEVER, if I am using the wah and flick to another preset, it all goes pear shaped! Suddenly the wah is on, but the foot pedal has no effect. This carries on until i go right out the preset and then back into it. I must just be missing some simple setting like a snapshot bypass or something? Thoroughly frustrated, Shannon
  21. Hi everyone I recently purchased the line 6 Helix after researching different options. I am a bit gutted to find that I can't setup an autowah since parameters cannot be automated according to tempo. I upgraded from a Boss GT8 where I could do this. Basically telling the unit to oscillate between the X and Y position constantly at 120bpm (or equivallent in milliseconds) I tried playing with the Mutant Filter (which I understand is based on the Mu-Tron) but I am not getting the fast and constant "up-and-down" sound that I need since the filter responds to the dynamycs of the string attack and I need the effect to be constant while doing fast 16-note string obstructions. I want to know if there is any way around this. If someone has been into a similar situation and has come up with some settings that could help. My bass player suggested getting a separate autowah and add it to the physical chain. However, I don't know to what extent the Helix would be able to control an external unit. I also bought the Helix in order to avoid the piling of different pedals/stompboxes and be able to rely on presets instead of switching settings and oscillators between songs while playing live. I saw this entry on the ideascale site but I don't know if this could become an upgrade soon and whether it is possible to get this via a simple upgrade of the firmware in the future https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Auto-wah-or-auto-EVERYTHING-for-Helix/727014-23508#idea-tab-comments I found a video of the settings I want to control (sorry about posting the link to another similar product) and want to know of any workarounds with the Helix. Any light so I can play the songs the way they sound on the record and still rely on the Helix. I have been regretting the buy because of this tbh Sorry for the long post and thanks for your help
  22. Hi, I use an external FX pedal on my HX Stomp and I have problem with the pedal position vs. FX range. I don't know why but my pedal range is not matching the FX range of a module like a WAH. What I mean is that on heel-position the FX range is at 0% then at about halfway the pedal (so 50% heel/50% toe) the FX range is at 100% and when I go further towards toe-position the FX range moves back to 0% when I'm at 100% Toe-position. I want to have the FX range match the pedal range, so heel=0% FX range and Toe=100% FX range. I've been through the settings but the only setting I could find is the MAX and MIN FX level for the module but this is not related to the pedal-position Can anyone please advise how to achieve this? Thanks in advance
  23. I am trying to set up a chain starting with volume pedal - assigned to EXP1 and a wah pedal assigned on EXO2 I want the volume pedal EXP1 to be ON all the time, when I TOE IN to switch to EXP2, I want the volume to remain on, and the wah to come ON as well the WAH functionality when on the EXP2. Right now when i toe IN the EXP1 goes to EXP 2 , but it turns the volume OFF. may be an overkill come to a forum for this, but I am just bouncing some ideas
  24. Hello everyone, I have a Helix connected to a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Solo head using 4 cable method. I am switching channels and solo channel using a Voodoo Labs Control Switcher via midi program change through the Helix using instant commands in my Snap Shots. Here is what I would like to accomplish, when I step on the expression pedal it enables the wah (which I have setup) and would like to have it send a program change to change the amp channel then when I return the pedal back to disengage the wah send another program change to change the amp channel. Can this be done? Thanks in advance, Mike
  25. I have a PODhd500x. My expression pedal doesn't function. I have rested global settings. I have updated firmware and flash memory. I have calibrated the pedal and pedal calibration says 'F'. What could be wrong and someone please tell how to fix it? I live in a place where there are no service centres close by. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
