Where did my USB outputs go? (POD X3 Bean on Yosemite)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm going nuts trying to figure out why my computer will only recognize outputs 1-2 over USB audio. It started when I installed drivers on a brand new Mac running the latest version of Yosemite. On my old Mac, it had no problems recognizing all 8 outputs on the same version. I uninstalled drivers and reinstalled drivers and did everything short of a fresh Yosemite install to try to get it to work, but in both my DAW (Logic) and the system level Audio/Midi Inspector, it only shows outputs 1-2. I know another user on here has mentioned it in another thread--has anyone else encountered this and/or found a fix? I use multi-output to record and process wet and dry signals without having to screw around with latency issues, and this is killing my workflow.

I have the exact same issue after installing the new drivers.  I can't see any inputs in Logic except 1&2 and they are wet.   I only record dry mono signals while monitoring a wet signal off the PODX3.  I can't record - I'm at a dead stop.  I hope this is a simple fix.  I was hoping to get a lot of recording done during the holidays.

I heard that this is a bug and they know about it. Please create a support ticket if you haven't already. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

I have the same problem. Been looking everywhere for a solution. First I thought it was my fault, forgetting how to do it or changed a setting.

Come on Line6! Should a go for a Pod HD or try another brand...

One last thing...I've tried three different Daw's...Reaper, Logic Pro and Logic Pro X...all recognize only two channels instead of eight...so...the problem lies with Line 6...I reckon...

the x3 isn't technically supported anymore, but you really need to log a support ticket or call tech support and let them know about your issue.

http://line6.com/company/contact/

the forums here are great if a user discovers and shares a workaround etc....

(like for instance anyone try older drivers?)

but end the end the forums are just other users that won't be able to affect any change in the current drivers.

Sorry to hear that. When was it discontinued? 4-5 years ago. And now not technically supported any more? It doesn't make me to wan't a new one.

Older drivers? There was other issues (Kernel panic) with Yosemite an the Pod X3 that older drivers couldn't manage, so, no...

Line 6 knows about the issue...

And now...looking for other solutions...unsubscribe Line 6 newsletter...delete Line 6 bookmark...going to check out Guitar Rig...oh no, I'm not bitter...;) but it's time to part ways....

I promise...this is my last post on the subject...

Thanks for your reply...

it was technically not longer supported at 10.7, it just happened to work anyway, because apple hadn't made any changes that affected it.

there are probably 10's of older drivers that may work.. yes some may cause issues... since clearly they are not designed to work with that OS.

i'm just trying to give you ideas to help you help yourself... not official by any means... officially it's simply not supported any more.

i hope you can figure something out.
